6701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many altcoins are actually worth something? on: December 25, 2018, 09:10:40 PM
Quality over quantity. You need to get the best coins instead of having hundreds of thousands or millions of cheap coins that aren't worth investing your money.

This is a misconception to the new investors there, you guys think that a cheap coin will make you rich so you are choosing those cheap coins that will pump somehow in the future. IMO, it's wrong to think that way.
6702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merry Bitcoin Xmas to all you Hodlers! on: December 25, 2018, 11:36:10 AM
Same to you fellow hodler! I spent few of my mBtc's and it should be fine, we are here to spend it. Keeping is fine and spending with moderation is also good if its for you and your family.

We're all here with same dream and reason that keeps us holding. Another great year for me and still part of the crypto/bitcoin market that makes me more excited everyday although this year wasn't great for most.
6703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let me tell you some Drama. on: December 24, 2018, 02:53:24 PM
With that logic, you want to hear us say that we're now on a bull market?  How I wish that we are really on that point but can't say if we are actually in it.

Big boys who own the big media companaies n press can spread propoganda to make it look bad  and say its a bubble and its gnna die.

When in fact they will buy it up at the rock bottom and leave you feeling dumb for selling your fortune.
I heard this out from a popular video now on youtube and explained by Teeka Tiwari. And there's truth in it that they are really buying after spreading FUD to the world through press. Example, Jamie Dimon - JPMorgan Chase.

6705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 55K loss, how to get back into the game on: December 24, 2018, 12:50:27 PM
Learn from that moment but it really taught you the rough way which is very hard to accept. Such amount of losses can make you stop of believing and speculating to this market. But I think you know this consequence from the very start when you started to invest right?

I'm into losses as well, compare to yours it might not too big but for me its already big enough to address my emotion and grieving. Be positive though its hard to be in that mode but it will help you to remain skeptic because of your losses. Keep on filling your bags while the market isn't so good.
6706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: fear of ransomware attack like wannacry on: December 24, 2018, 11:29:50 AM
It's a "ransom" so you have to pay for the hostages which is your information and other data that has been hijacked by that attack. In that case, you have to pay according to the given amount and bitcoin address given.

But take note of this, there are also emails that are looking like ransomware which says that they had hijacked your information and data because you use a  website that they have been part of but don't believe with those if you find nothing on your PC.

ransomwares do not "hijack" anything from you, what they do is that they encrypt your data (put a password on your files, so to speak) and then demand money before they give you the encryption key so that you can access your data again.
so for example if you haven't kept any backup you will lose everything including your bitcoins.

What's interesting is in 2016 one of my ex co-workers whom I did not care for had this happen at his workstation, while I myself - who was notorious for screwing around with cryptocurrencies, downloading questionable wallets and visiting questionable crypto sites - never had this happen to me. Since we didn't get along, I suspected he or somebody else sabotaged himself on purpose to try to pin the blame on me. The ransomware propagated itself onto our main server, which had to be rolled back, but because we were semi-professionals at least we had backups.

I wonder if anybody who's ever paid the ransom actually had their computer unencrypted.
@pooya87 thank you for that clarity, I'm into thinking of "hijacking" and "encrypting" as the same thing but thanks for that, really appreciated your explanation.

@nutildah, last year when there's massive attack which has been publicize through crypto news websites. I remember that there's one address that has been posted by the hacker and within few minutes there's an enormous transfer to that. But regarding the decrypting, it wasn't reported but I think it went well.

Any reccomedations for protection?
The backing up recommendation was perfect for everyone. Don't also install unwanted apps, please don't do that.
6707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty campaigns on: December 24, 2018, 10:24:24 AM
They might change their bounty rules such as NO KYC to KYC.
There are a lot of bounty hunter who doesn't want to provide KYC as they do not want to reveal their identity and/or they are afraid of misuse of their identity. Many project owner takes this as an opportunity.
Correct, today it's not new anymore that even a bounty requires KYC. And to those bounty hunters, it's your take on how you'll adopt this kind of requirement.

But do you really think that its worth to take your identifications through bounties or airdrops? Clarify all rules to the manager and ask them if they will ask KYC in the future for your rewards while it's early. Identities can used to different use by the company who holds it and we are aware of it that there are companies who are misusing it.
6708  Economy / Economics / Re: Just sharing what I've learned about cryptocurrency businesses in Gibraltar on: December 24, 2018, 08:55:32 AM
Same thoughts like what others are thinking. It's like buying a license for marketing and attracting purposes only if its with these ICOs. They aren't tight with it as long as that company is willing to pay them right?

It's amazing to see when there are countries like Gibraltar who are looking to adopt crypto's through different applications that they can like what you have mentioned OP. For ICOs, it will be abused if upcoming projects will consider that approval from them.
6709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The buttom for this year on: December 22, 2018, 10:57:17 PM
Do you think crypto has hit it's very buttom for this year.
I hope so.

the market want red yesterday..
Can we just stop thinking that when the market is red it's actually the buttom or the lowest that it can reach. And to those that thinks its the end of the market when we see the red days, stop thinking that way as well.

but I'm thinking it won't go lower than this..
We can't be sure of it, the market can't be predicted by anyone and its volatile so everything is of possibility.
6710  Economy / Speculation / Re: The best time to invest is now. on: December 22, 2018, 09:45:44 PM
For those who like speculation, they will think it's time to buy, but those who are too afraid of the risk they will be afraid to buy because they think it will be the end.
Everyone should start speculating, bitcoin is a speculative market which also gives that character to the crypto market itself. Those who start to speculate and thinks that its a good time to buy and invest their money are probably these people.

1. Understands the long stand of bitcoin.
2. Buying because its low and thinks that it will start to increase soon.
3. Buying the hype again.
6711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty campaigns on: December 22, 2018, 09:18:08 PM
Trusting a bounty campaign right now is getting harder, why?
I think it is because maximum reputed bounty manager has been tagged or banned. For example atriz, needmoney, wapinter. Now maximum bounty campaign is running by new account and these are being managed by themselves. Also, there are lots of ICO who has not succeeded in ICO that's why they are not distributing. There might have much more reason.
Yes those managers that are newbies are surely the manager of that ICO itself or was hired through a freelancing site. Setting aside the bounty managers, the whole bounty side is hard to trust now.

Many hunters are telling this due to the supply flow of bounties in the forum, actually not from the forum itself but with different bounty hunting platforms. There's a trust issue in a way, you can't be sure of the distribution and they might change their bounty rules such as NO KYC to KYC.

6713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are the coins your are holding now and regret not selling them before? on: December 21, 2018, 11:26:00 PM
I regret not selling few bitcoin and most of my ETH. Bitcoin last January to February this year and ethereum when it was still sitting around $600+. Like what everyone thought of it before that the bull run would certainly come after few months but we've got it wrong.

We saw on how far the market can go and that also increased our expectations so those regrets and wrong decisions we've made from those past months taught us not to be greedy much. Took profits while you can and if you have already a profit margin, don't hesitate to take it and wait for another dump so you can get a better entry again.
6714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty campaigns on: December 21, 2018, 10:40:40 PM
Trusting a bounty campaign right now is getting harder, why? bounty hunters do complain that they never receive their stakes/tokens after the success of the ICO they promoted.

You have to choose and have your own way of determining on what's a good bounty. If you're quite new to it, then you need to take your time and study the bounty that you desire to join its bounty program. A good bounty manager will also give you a better chance of having a good bounty.
6715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: when you say whales, who on: December 21, 2018, 09:54:32 PM
Seriously - If nobody knows who these whales are exactly then how do you know these whales even exist?

"Oh it's the whales doing all this" and "Oh its whales doing all that"

How do you know whales even exist?? You don't.
Given to the market that there's "someone" who holds a lot of shares or certain percentage of the total supply of bitcoin. And these are the whales, yes nobody knows their names and we can't name names on who really they are.

It's a norm for those who have been in such markets that when there's a manipulation happening it is being pointed out to the people who have bigger position to the market and these are the so called "whales".
6716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bulls on crypto market are back on: December 21, 2018, 04:36:24 PM
Not all of the time when bitcoin price starts hitting above, alts do follow. Take time to monitor and observe those movements when bitcoin wasnt so good, some alts were pretty good in pricing.

Its a very unpredictable motion of the crypto market. Bulls arent back, it is a force that pulls the price up due to the positive news that weve got for this month. And this triggers a pretty good intro for 2019.
6717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your past experience will always be an added advantage on: December 21, 2018, 01:30:15 PM
If Im not to curious with bitcoin before and later on introduced me to crypto market itself, I wouldnt be happy right now with my progress to this chosen path of investment that I did few years ago.

To be honest, I never thought about the risk it is associated with but Im focused with the technology that it brought to us. No need for a third party in the middle just to make a transaction successfully done.
6718  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 BITDICE -2019 mBTC Christmas and New Year Celebrations [2+ BTC in Prizes] 🎲 on: December 21, 2018, 11:08:28 AM
Woah so this is the menu that youve been talking about last time Box. BitDice has always been very generous enough especially this coming Christmas, goodluck to the participants.

Thats a lot of prize pool we've got there. I think we will see some tough competitors again chasing the number 1 spot. Wishing all the best and great holidays!
6719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It is right to come back? on: December 19, 2018, 11:58:44 AM
This year's January isnt so tough at all but its the start of this years fall. This month showed that the market is ready to rise and I dont care if this is fake or not.

Whats important is we see a positive movement but its not enough to think that the market has already recovered.
Overall,as long as the market is showing positivity its sufficient to think that a possible comeback will do.
6720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't many cryptocurrencies use a .com extension? on: December 19, 2018, 06:05:26 AM
Im not sure of the main reason why mostly are using .io and other unfamiliar extensions but my guess is probably these are very cheap ones.

And looking for the potential. com extension with their chosen domain is probably taken by others and dont want to sell it to others. Theres a big market for domain flippening as well so thats my guess.
