6701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin U.S. Trademark Application DROPPED – He’s Trying It Abroad on: July 10, 2011, 08:21:06 PM
The rule of law will decide this.  If he is first-to-file in certain countries and that is the law, then bitcoin trademark is his rightful property.  I applaud him for utilizing the system as it is designed.

So, should i trademark the word "dollar" as long as i follow the rules?
6702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin U.S. Trademark Application DROPPED – He’s Trying It Abroad on: July 10, 2011, 07:32:49 PM
In Europe Tibanne Co. Ltd. (mtgox) tries to register the trademark 4 days ago. And there was noone before who tried it. :-)

Portugal it's part of the European Union, so that's obviously not true Wink

You need to remember that Europe is a continent with a lot of countries, and even the EU has 25 contries in it, each country with it's own laws and bureaucracies, trademark and patent registrations, etc.
A trademark registered in Portugal can't be enforced in Spain, and that's the nearest country, so, maybe the lawyers MtGox contacted aren't that good Cheesy

One more bit of info: In Portugal a trademark must be used to commercialize a product/service at least 1x every 10 years or else it will be rendered invalid and open to registration again. I know that because i'm on the middle of the registration process of a couple trademarks for a startup company i'm working with.
6703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin U.S. Trademark Application DROPPED – He’s Trying It Abroad on: July 10, 2011, 07:21:51 PM
Next, i'm going after the douchebag that trademarked Bitcoin for Financial/Banking Services in Portugal.
The trademark was already granted.

Can you give us more info/links on the Portuguese application?

Here http://servicosonline.inpi.pt/pesquisas/GetSintesePDF?nord=3426931

I already posted the link in the other thread about this subject but it seems nobody cared about it.

It's a consultancy company with only 1 employee(the owner). A trademark squatter also, probably.
It says it a technology consultancy company, but seeing as the company doesn't even own a lousy website i find it hard to believe they are that technological  Cheesy

The trademark was already granted.
6704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Destroying bitcoin, by coin, by coin... on: July 10, 2011, 02:37:52 PM
We want stats, how many BTC did you destroy already? I want to know how much more my coins are worth :p

+1.  Just post the addresses you're destroying with links to blockexplorer.  At least make it interesting for the readers.

LOL Trolls never present evidence  Roll Eyes
6705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: include a message in a transaction on: July 10, 2011, 02:32:15 PM
That's why the block solving should be done as a big pool with every machine getting a small part of the work (and bounty) and not by a single machine like it is done now.

If bitcoin really grows to that point it will be impossible to manage, with or without messages Wink

I'm open to understand why i'm wrong, if that's the case Smiley
6706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: include a message in a transaction on: July 10, 2011, 02:25:06 PM
each block will be a round 10000*3100*60*10=18.600.000.000 = 18.6 Gb big.

what you are suggesting is making a block 340 bytes long, right?
then the blocks will be of 19.56 Gb big.

Only if you count GB's in the same way HDD manufacturers do  Tongue
6707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: include a message in a transaction on: July 10, 2011, 01:50:43 PM
Would still be cool to send a message with the transaction ^^
no it would not! its not what the blockchain is for!

I think a small twitter like message wouldn't hurt that much.
I for one would like to include my email address along with each payment i send. Just in case the receiver messes up, i can point him to "that payment you received with my email address in it, search for it!".
you already can do that. it would not be good. every block would grow very large.

twitter message is what twitter is for.

Don't be an asshole. He said twitter like, like 140 characters long, you moron. You really came across as a real asshole on your 2 last posts. Embarrassed

This is the newbie board. If you don't wish to answer newbie questions then STFU & GTFO!
6708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin U.S. Trademark Application DROPPED – He’s Trying It Abroad on: July 10, 2011, 12:52:58 PM
"Hmm this guy seems nice, i should google him to be sure... 'wtf.. scammer? o.O'... better get a different lawyer just to be safe..."

i think someone killed their career :/ though he may will sue the site owner. though as far as damage to his name, i think that is all on him and he would have a hard time proving otherwise in court. i wonder if he made it into wikipedia yet as 'the idiot that tried to trademark the bitcoin name". hope he doesn't have any kids :/

I'm the owner of that website, I'm not hiding. Let him sue me if he really thinks he will make anything out of it. I'm not afraid of a douchebag lawyer Wink

Next, i'm going after the douchebag that trademarked Bitcoin for Financial/Banking Services in Portugal.

This thread is worthless.
]

A 100% pointless post coming from a moderator!!  Who runs this cesspool? Get your shit together!

Agreed! I run a couple forums and worthless threads go straight to the recycle bin, they don't get replies from moderators!  Roll Eyes
6716  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lawyer Trying To Trademark Bitcoin Explains His Legal Theory on: July 09, 2011, 06:06:26 PM
I would certianly like to see Michael Pascazi sanctioned.

Well, we can start by giving the moron a bad name!

I opened up a website called Michael S. Pascazi is a scammer!

Please go there and write something about what he is doing. No need to regsiter to submit a post! With a bit of luck maybe it can reach google's first page for Michael S. Pascazi searches. Cheesy

Oh, it would help if every time someone writes his name it get's hyperlinked there, like this Michael S. Pascazi Wink
6717  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lawyer Trying To Trademark Bitcoin Explains His Legal Theory on: July 09, 2011, 03:57:28 PM
If someone is willing to donate i can submit a trademark registration in Portugal.
I wouldn't be able to donate it to the community, as it needs to be a company to regsiter it, but i am willing to sign all the documents the community wants me to, to assure that i will never use it to extort money from bitcoin. Smiley

It's already done  Shocked

Can be seen here http://servicosonline.inpi.pt/pesquisas/GetSintesePDF?nord=3426931 PDF file!

I can be wrong, but i suspect whoever registered it is just a squatter, just like that lawyer, as they don't seem very technological to me, seeing as they don't even have a website for the company  Huh

The good news are, they must sell at least one product every 10 years using the trademark, or else they lose the right to it(probably they'll just have to pay to register it again).
6718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining Accelerator SCAM on: July 09, 2011, 09:47:42 AM

I dunno its the picture of a bottle of injectable haloperidol as her avatar that makes me wonder...

I dunno... It's the fact that you recognize a bottle of injectable haloperidol from such a small pic that makes me wonder... Roll Eyes

Wonder what?

If you need to ask you're not very bright and you really should get married instead of just renting your wife services Cheesy
6720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Have A Bitcoin Website? Do You Want to Be On The First Page Of Google? on: July 08, 2011, 02:09:48 PM
To the OP:

I didn't even finished up your post because just one sentence told me how much of a moron you are...

.info is a low quality TLD? Get a grip and learn some SEO, son.

I have autoblogs on .info domains with more pages indexed than techcrunch, and probably getting more traffic from google than they do.

Good lord, these morons never cease to amaze me  Roll Eyes
