Hashrate

504.20 PH/s

100 peta jump hmmmm who could it be??

sources  https://chain.so/BTC
i also watch bitaffnet pool for real time net hash rate.

Best Regards
d57heinz

well whoever it was.. just turned off 30 peta lmao

The reported hashrate is an estimate and is not always accurate.

This is because of how most tracking sites estimate the hashrate; a run of blocks will cause it to appear there has been a large increase in hashrate.

I think we will see big bumps soon; but I don't think the Network hash rate is currently 470-500 peta.

They are normally pretty accurate when BM says stats on TH.  I expect everyone will get very close to it unless bad chip or hashing board.

They do not do with SP did where they list a number even overclocking you cannot get most likely.     My latest miner a S5+ was close, so I expect same out of S7.
6722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: September 10, 2015, 12:47:01 PM
But they sold very little to public.  This shows likely a big buyer or themselves are mining with them.  As I think they would not just drop product after having chip work.

Yes, this is equal to failure. If they were to mine by themselves, then why spam bitcointalk and telling false promises to users? If targeting a single (few) mega buyer(s), again, why bothering with false advertising for the public?

More likely someone with a lot of cash came in and bough them all before LTC having.  They could have not predicted this or counted on it being main option till deal was done.  If they did this chances are NDA's prevent talk of it.

These miners are out there somewhere.   Two most likely are one big investor or kept internal.  If they kept internal they could have used for LTC having time.   Then sell them as batch 2 sometime in future.

hi,
any solution for replacement controller antminer c1?
my controller green light blinking too fast at rj45 socket..  Cry

You can talk to bitmain.  But last I heard they were out and not getting more controllers.

You most likely would have to buy from secondary market.  See if someone will sell just the controller or sell half working machines as parts.  I know I sold a half working machine as parts machine and it brought decent money as you cannot get the parts direct.
6724  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC MINING - Newest hardware and the future on: September 10, 2015, 12:42:17 PM
Part of it is about what you enjoy.  For example mining is a passion for me.  I truly enjoy it.  So I will keep on doing it.

I can see why not everyone does it.  But for many it works.

When it comes to passion you don't care how much you spend right? Cheesy

Yes and no.  I care overall as I don't want to lose a fortune on it.   If you did it wrong you could lose a lot and it would not make much sense.

But will I always be mining... most likely yes.   I see it as a fun hobby, hobby's cost money.  So if I made a mistake I can chalk it up to that and not feel so bad.   But I do try to always ROI.  That is part of the fun.
6725  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread sept 4th. to sept 17th Picks are open. on: September 10, 2015, 12:39:49 PM
Bitwisdom:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    56,957,648,455
Estimated Next Difficulty:    59,540,756,134 (+4.54%)
Adjust time:    After 1110 Blocks, About 7.5 days
Hashrate(?):    417,507,513 GH/s

Difficulty is not great but hopefully we can be under 5 percent for this period.  Price is around 238 so still hanging pretty close to around 240 mark.
6726  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed? on: September 10, 2015, 12:37:10 PM
[snip]
Is this the way it would work?

No, because it would not fail. It's solid information, guaranteed. This isn't a "tip". It's a fact of what will happen.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed gambling that is 100 percent.  Maybe you get 1 or 2 from team, but them to risk their career for onetime payment... unlikely.  Also who team of soccer being in on it..... is not going to happen so not 100 percent again.

But this is illegal like many have said.  And if you happened to find a place it's legal and a legal way to do it, I think you will be blasted with negative trust.
6727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I can earn from the Signature campaign? on: September 10, 2015, 12:32:20 PM
If you're  a newbie then you can't earn a lot from signature campaign. Just wait til you become a full member.
Yeah you can earn but only small amount of bitcoin. You can try faucets, doing captcha every 1 hour and have a many faucets websites make many coins if you combine it.

I suggest just waiting and enjoying the forum.  You will be a bigger activity level one day, assuming you enjoy the forum.

But  faucets are pennies per hour.  It really just does not make sense for most.  For most it will just be dust in the wallet.
6728  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any cheap lifetime vps through btc? on: September 10, 2015, 12:30:39 PM
Actually I was looking for something similar recently. There aren't that many companies that are accepting BTC for such services. Are you 100% sure that you want a VPS, not a VPN? VPS costs much higher and I doubt that you could find a cheap lifetime plan for it. Depending on how much usage you actually need, it might be more beneficial if you build a server yourself.

But anything that says "lifetime" and cheap is most likely a scam.  I highly suggest looking at VPS that is not lifetime and based on usage, if you really do just have to use a VPN.
There are various lifetime VPN offers. Lifetime VPN for 29$ here (they do not accept Bitcoin though; I've asked).

I said VPS not vpn in my comment.  Just like OP was asking. Big difference between VPS and VPN.

I just don't think there is anyone on VPS I could pay now and in 10-20 years it still be there for "cheap"
6729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how %51 attacker can double spend ? on: September 10, 2015, 12:28:24 PM
You need so much hash it is not going to happen.  People will argue but yes if top 3 pools got together they have enough hash...

But it would not make them money in long run.  They would be destroying the very thing that made them money.  I feel safe it will not happen.

Of course it would make them money. They would be able to make millions in a very short period of time. but would destroy bitcoin in the long run. 51% Is only possible if the top 3 pools become very greedy or have a government/bank agreement

They won't be able to make much as people will realize soon and stop

They could have millions in coins but before they could exchange them to cash the double cash would be caught.   And most likely all BTC they got would be useless.

Also some of the big pools were talking about millions.  So why give up a constant revenue for a possible 1 time thing that destory's future. ... It will not happen.
6730  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How & Where do I start in mining ........ on: September 10, 2015, 11:15:29 AM
To mine scrypt coins, you will need specialized hardware called ASICs. If you have a gaming PC with a good GPU, you can mine x11 coins like darkcoin. If you have a laptop, it's not really worth it to mine.

Really only asic mining is profitable.  GPU and CPU normally are not profitable.  Yes there is X11 and others, but add up electricity of GPU's running most likely you run at a loss.  And you will not pay off the GPU.

I do not suggest CPU/GPU mining.
6731  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Larger Miners For Cheap on: September 10, 2015, 10:15:30 AM
Well this thread isn't totally dead im looking for the same thing. My power is free but im limited to 4 120v 30A circuits to run the miners on. So i have a decent amount of power just need something to use it lol.

That's not a lot of power, actually - I've got more available in my mobile home.

Right now, you'd be looking at Antminer S7 units to maximise your hashrate - but you might want to wait 'till late December, Lketc should have it's new 5TH unit out around then to give Bitmain some BADLY needed competition and there's a chance that Innosilicon will release a new unit on it's own too - and perhaps that way overpriced Sfards unit will drop in price to be competative by then.

SFards is so quiet I would not count on that one.  They were very public did some contests then went dark to general public.  So the main question is who is getting the miners they are producing .... and no one knows.

LKETC there is a good chance I think they might guess earlier then it happens.   They do not make their own chips so they really cant tell exact timeline.  I'm sure they have been giving a timeline but hard to tell if we will see it by end of year.  I hope so but I am guessing not.
6732  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If mining BTC isn't profitable like people say -- how are OTHER people doing it? on: September 10, 2015, 10:11:33 AM
Pools have very little to do with mining profitably.

It's ALL about the electric rate, the efficiency of your mining gear, how much power you have to use to keep the gear COOL and how much you had to pay for your mining setup, and sometimes incidentals like "pay for help if you have a Mega Farm"....

I would agree on electricity rate.  One a lot of people look over is VAT/Import taxes.  Some places a 20-25 percent tax could kill ROI.

Mining is still alive and will just takes a lot of variables to line up for it to work.
6733  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any cheap lifetime vps through btc? on: September 10, 2015, 10:08:22 AM
when someone ask for this i usually reveal my awesome list Grin, you can try time4vps or blueVM for a cheap bitcoin VPS, but if you wnt i can send you many many other

But I doubt they are cheap and for life! Smiley I doubt that any service in the world exist that is cheap and lifetime.

OP you will never find something like this!

If wanting it lifetime might look into making a server just at your house.  All depends on how much power you will be needing and what your doing.

But anything that says "lifetime" and cheap is most likely a scam.  I highly suggest looking at VPS that is not lifetime and based on usage, if you really do just have to use a VPN.

6735  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: where can i buy a Bitcoin miner on: September 10, 2015, 10:04:00 AM
Hi! Can you tell me please what is ROI there?
Thanks!

I try cloumining  on mininswdeden !!

ROI is so individual there is not one size fit's all.  Likely it depends on electricity prices in most cases.   But there could be much more to it.

What is your electricity price?
6736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin hardware problem on: September 10, 2015, 10:00:40 AM
Looks more like one of the Silverfish Scrypt miners to me, but the pics aren't super clear and I never bothered buying any of the Zeus stuff (it was overpriced and BAD efficiency) or the Silverfish (ditto) - IIRC neither was much more efficient than the Gridseed GC3355 based junk I wanted to replace....

If silverfish he needs to use the windows program.   It does detect it and loads a valid license letting it run.  It called home to make sure it was still valid.

But since they quit making it they did make a patch to make silverfish still work.  So you might need to do this.

Let us know what miner.
6737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: September 10, 2015, 09:57:48 AM
I have a feeling of this miner being a complete and total failure. High price, low to none availability. Sfards, why do you even bother to shit on bitcointalk, do some teasing and advertising, and then not providing anything at all for the community? All I see here in this long thread is hundreds hours spent of users, looking to find something useful and ended up having nothing but false promises.

It was not failure some relesellers had a few just a few.  So we know they can make it and it does work.

But they sold very little to public.  This shows likely a big buyer or themselves are mining with them.  As I think they would not just drop product after having chip work.

But seeing your elect up to $0.15 per kwh, how long S5 give you ROI from pure mining (not selling the miner) ?

I'm not sure my S5s are going to RoI - too many factors I didn't forcee ahead of time, I'm seriously regretting buying the 2 "used" ones from Bitmain in particular.

The 14.2 is only my "summer" rate, that ends in a few days and I drop to around 6.7 which gives me a prayer - especially if Bitcoin keeps climbing slowly.

I've given up on even thinking about S7s though, unless the price on them drops a LOT very soon or difficulty suddenly goes flat soon. I've still got over a month before I COULD have had the cash to even think about ordering ONE though, since they made them BIG miners instead of HOME miners. 8-(

Around what location are you at?  That is a heck of a drop fro 14.2 to 6.7.

One is almost impossible to roi other is doable most likely.

Ok so first I'm going to stick with the trouble shooting videos so hopefully you guys don't mind my ugly mug :-) I had a lot of great advice and I'm pretty positive I tried it all. I'm not sure but I may know my problem after playing with it a little more tonight? When I first got both miners running I went to the antminer dashboard and changed the network from DHCP to static :-/ I did not change anything on my router. I did take a picture of what I saw but it's too big to load.  Basically it has all my devices IP addresses except my running Antminers. But if that's my problem, I don't know how to get back to my dashboard to change it now. Thank you again for all the help!!!

Wait what, you manage to connect to the Antminer to set it to static IP, but you somehow can't connect to it?

Reset it, leave it on DHCP. Messing with that can confuse some routers, since a lease is already ongoing. Just set a static lease (IP) on the router's side if you can. You're like the 4th person today i notice has issues with setting up Static IP from the miner's side. Don't touch it.

Also I personally don't like the IP scanner bitmain say's to use.   Log into your router look at connected devices, it does not look like a ton on the network.

If you used DHCP (normally I say use static but if you are having trouble dhcp does work).   Find it from connected miner set it on pools etc.   You can leave them running and likely not have to connect to miners hopefully for a while.  Its pretty much set and forget.

But there's no upside for me to setup static IP. I can tell the router to always assign the same x IP to the machine, this way i can have all my machine on a series and i know which is which, and i have a sticker on them.
This way the machine stays on DHCP, there's no ip conflict, arguably less setting up, etc, with the same upside of always a set ip. And the attribution is good even through wifi only connection, for S1/S3.

And that is why I recommend for OP to use dhcp, as hes having trouble with static.  As a general rule it is nicer with static.

I can log into my mining pool and see the IP of down miner as i put it in worker name.  With so many devices on my  network would be a pain to do DHCP.  So if someone can manage it I still say static is general in most cases.   Just not in this one.
6740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to get highest free BTC? on: September 10, 2015, 07:27:40 AM
if what you mean is free, maybe it wpould only be for faucet, sig campaign or giveaway, and its not too free either, you need to do something to earn

Siganture campaign is not free you have to work and make a good post. reward from giveaway relative. there is no way to get the highest bitcoin really free
yea i wrote it that its not too free, you should do captchas, write post or do something for a giveaway

Captchas are just so little pay.  It is crazy I would suggest doingsomething else. Even if you used that time to lean something new that would be better.

Arent you getting less then 1 dollar a hour for lots of work?
