6721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR Mining on: October 23, 2016, 05:05:14 PM
There are simply more profitable coins to mine today than XMR. Unless of course you think the price will go up 10x.

Can you please name a couple I am open to mining other coins, but looking at the exchanges it doesnt seem like they are that much more profitable.

It is more profitlable to mine the Moneor with CPU with AEX_NI support than the GPU. It is better to under volt.

The integration of SW into Bitcoin when successful will finally change the game for Bitcoin and even widen the gap between Bitcoin and Altcoins, If you want to write smart contract and Bitcoin can offer all Ethereum is offering majority will go for Bitcoin because of the track record and the DAO debacle did not cover Ethereum developers in glory

The DAO debacle is just the growth pain. There will be more growth pain in the future, for example, it is suffering from the DDOS attack.

How is it ethereum not decentralized if the biggest miner in china, therefore in the world, only owns ~2% / 100gh + of all network hashrate ? Everyone owns between 0.00000001% and 2% of network's hashrate.

If the Etheruem price is very high, there will be more miners all over the world, but mainly in places with cheap electricity.

Bitcoin cannot be replaced in the next 5 years unless there will be developed bigger businesses / application on ethereum blockchain. The first step into taking bitcoin place is for to succesful update to serenity early next year and then make scalability work. If they succeed that, the value of ethereum will double in like few weeks. But it also depends alot on dapps success, like akasha social network.

I am not sure if the Ethereum will take over bitcoin, but the trading volume is higher than the bitcoin now.

The trading volume dropped some what in the last few days. But investors are still very interested in it and there will be a few meetings about Ethereum.

The Devcon2 will be held on September 19, 20, 21.

https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/07/08/devcon2-site-now-live/

So is there any possibility that the Ethereum price will be pumped to coincide with the conference now?
6725  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your predictions for 2016 on: August 27, 2016, 04:54:57 PM
i do not think that bitcoin fall its price to 200$ , i am sure that bitcoin will be rise up its price to higher in 2016 ,because 2016 is the year of bitcoin and more people adopt the bitcoin and maximum people buying bitcoin as investment and then hold it and wait for until increase its price to huge amount .

For the time being, after the Bitfinex hack, the $550 is the new bottom as the price of bitcoin is trading around $590

BTC/USD seems to be stabilised at around $420-$430.

Thoughts and predictions where it's going to next?

well price now is not even close to 420$, price is 640$ atm and yes price now is very stable but i hope that soon price will rise

Stable  price is good sign for new investors who wants to invest their money in bitcoin and its also good to see that price didn't drop after the halving.

I was glad that the price drop before the halving. That reduced the possibility of the price bubble. So good.
6727  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price settling at $420. on: July 12, 2016, 05:55:30 PM
The price is settling around the $630 at the moment. I think the price will be here before the halving. It might rise after.

I think it is good for the price to trade within a certain range. That is to absorb some profit taking after recent big rise.

That is right. As long as there is no big bubble and the price of bitcoin rises year after year, it is fine.

It needs some time but is going to be the most widely used cryptocurrency.

The Etheruem is still too young. It is not widely used. So it might take long time for it to catch up with bitcoin.

We can answer the question in 5 to 10 years. At present, the Etheruem is just two years old and bitcoin is just 7 years old.
6730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin. $15-$25. This Year. on: May 29, 2016, 10:47:07 AM
I too am hoping for a price increase, not too sure when it'll be but I've got my finger crossed!

:-)

Tony

I will not buy more litecoin. I will just hold the existing coins. I will hold them for long term, as a hedge.

Nah, there's still a chance eth might turn scam. Bitcoin has been here for years, eth has been here for about 10 months(correct me if I'm wrong.)

You are wrong in term of the Etheruem history. The ICO of the Etheruem happened in 2014, it is under development since then.

The litecoin price is $3.6 now, it will have to rise 400% to reach the $15 level. It depends on the further developments.
6733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investment strategy on: April 03, 2016, 03:17:45 PM
Hello everyone,

I am actually facing a wall in figuring out how to invest in Bitcoins or other alt coins.

Indeed, I don't know in the case that the trend is going up, when I should sell my bitcoin and cash the benefits. Moreover, I don't know neither if the trend is going down when I should sell my bitcoins in order to reduce the loss. I am also thinking, for both case, of the amount of my investment that I should sell, 100% or less?

In addition, if we considere that the trend is going up, shall I consider buying more bitcoins? If yes, how should I determine how much?

It is also important to add that I am willing to invest in the long term, and not trade everyday bitcoins.

If would be really kind of you if you could help me with constructive argument, I am already aware that I should invest an amount of money that I can afford to lose Roll Eyes. Nevertheless, I am not aware of how to effectively manage my investments.

Thank you in advance for your help. Grin

you ask how to invest to bitcoins? it's very simple just buy more bitcoins when they're cheap and keep them for year or two or even longer if you want, and when price will be good enough to sell for you, sell them and you will get more money

The price is quite low at the moment. When the SegWit comes out later this month, the price will rise.
6734  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have .00000001 bitcoin. Will I be a millionaire by 2046? on: February 26, 2016, 01:19:26 PM
1 Satoshi would always be 1 satoshi, and it is the smallest fraction of bitcoin..price might increase  in multiple times but it was still nearly impossible..   Smiley

Yes. In 30 years, the bitcoin price will not rise to $1 million each. it is too ambition target. No way to achieve.
