6741  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [VIDEO] - BITCOIN Technical Analysis April - TARGET $5,000 ? Today on: April 01, 2019, 06:19:49 AM
I don't think it will reach $5000 today however after it breaches the high made in December 2018, it can very fast accelerate its gains due to all the people who have underwater shorts.

When BTC hit $3100, the amount of OI on Bitmex was $290,000,000 and we are at $600,000,000 almost. Which means that many of those are sitting at a huge loss and they will eventually need to cover or get liquidated/rekt.

Then there are those who shorted the $6000 break last year and were hoping for $1K or $2K bitcoin and it never came, they most likely got a stop loss inplace if it breaks the $4500 area or so.
6742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: April 01, 2019, 06:16:32 AM
Been out of the Antminer game for a while but saw an article that they just released an Antminer S17, is this also an April fools joke?

Last Antminer I've heard of was the Antminer S9 and all of a sudden they skipped it down to S17. Really surprised they are still in the mining game after the failed IPO and the massive losses they suffered last year due to the BCH price crash.
6743  Economy / Speculation / Re: The updated BitCoin price predictions for 2019 . LOL on: April 01, 2019, 06:12:11 AM
Its hard to predict what price BTC will end the year. I can probably predict what will happen at the end of next quarter Q2 so somewhere around end of June 2019.

Basically we are approaching a very strong and very important support level, basically the $4200-$4400 is major resistance and we are slowly approaching it. Above this area, there isn't much resistance until the $5800 low of 2018.

Hence the way that bitcoin behaves in the next couple of weeks will plan out its behaviour for the next quarter. There are many people who were expecting BTC to break the $3K and head to $2500 and there are many shorts which are underwater. Hence a big move is coming.
6744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining question - please help me understand! on: March 30, 2019, 10:32:12 PM
Like everyday has said here already, every coin has a different algo which is differently programmed and it hashes at different speeds.

That's why there are many miner ASICs and some hash at 1TH/s and while others at 100GH/s and yet use the exact power consumption.

Your ETH speed is very bad since its a CPU, with a cheap $75 GPU you can get 30 MH/s and mine ETH. However you will need power less than 8 cents per kwh to make a profit and by profit, I mean like make a nickel.

Also you should never mine with your laptop on 100%. You will heat it up and eventually cause the battery to explode due to the heat and also laptops in general have bad cooling. Get a desktop if you want to do this.

Pretty much mining is not profitable at all, doesn't matter what ASIC or GPU or CPU or FPGA you have, nobody is making decent profit these days.
6745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in the Event of a Global Economic Crisis on: March 30, 2019, 10:24:48 PM
Bitcoin might play a bigger roll in certain countries with severe hyper inflation like Venuzuala during a financial crisis and play the complete opposite roll in first world nations like the USA.

Many people assume that everybody will be selling stocks and buying Bitcoin however Bitcoin is known as a highly risk-on asset, and those usually get sold-off during recessions. Also nobody will want to buy BTC when they saw how it went from $20K to $3K very quickly when in fact most stock market crashes never ended this badly before.

Also I don't think we are near a recession. People have been saying this since 2010 that a recession is coming and we had the biggest stock market bull run since 2009.
6746  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC might do something nice soon. TA only ( No crystal Ball/s) on: March 30, 2019, 10:20:52 PM
I am giving you a merit because you actually take the time to post some nice charts unlike most posters.

Regarding the yellow (20 SMA) its not a very good indicator because back in June of 2015 it gave a false break, and later on it looked like would act as support but it broke thru, then it acted as resistance and it broke thru also and finally we got that massive rally which made all the SMA point up.

However there is a good chance that the current 20 SMA might not mean anything since the 50 SMA is really far away and might not break and head straight for it.

You can vote for next upgrade on Musicoin project. Feel free left your feedback

I voted on your survey, didn't see the results however, it looks like they are private.

Either way, I noticed that one of the main purposes is to reduce the issuance or switch to POS to prevent miners dumping their coins and leading to a lower price.

However as much as I agree that a lower issuance would be great, I don't think it will solve the main issues. I think what MUSIC needs is more adoption somehow. Obviously we can't get Eminem to start using MUSIC but advertising in certain sectors like Google/Yahoo Music might help boost the awareness for MUSIC.

Many people already know what Bitcoin and Blockchain is, but most newer heard of MUSIC.

So it looks like GBYTEBTC is rallying a little due to speculation on the Top 10 exchange listing, since today was the last business day of the month any idea when it will get announced?

Since this was announced Prior to the listing, it most likely is not a Binance listing since they frown upon announcing prior to listing.

Wondering what exchange it will be and when will it be announced ?
6749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PASL]-[PASCAL Lite]-[The Future is Almost Here] on: March 28, 2019, 05:02:26 AM
Sorry for the long delay but here is the current progress of our coin at the moment.

As previously mentioned we want to move away from the PASCAL programming language to Golang, and our node code is currently ready as an alpha release,
https://github.com/pasl-project/pasl

Integrated travis continuous integration and coveralls tests coverage metrics
Current build status https://travis-ci.org/pasl-project/pasl
Tests coverage https://coveralls.io/github/pasl-project/pasl

We are also working on getting the main post in our ANN fixed since most of the info is outdated and broken graphics, please stand by.

Thanks for all your loyatly and support and unfortunately Cryptopia is still the only exchange and currently trading is still halted after the exchange shutdown due to the theft. We hope they enable trading soon.
6750  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex identification on: March 28, 2019, 04:36:16 AM
Basically you need to do KYC if you got any funds in your account that you want to withdraw.

They actually started doing this KYC sometime in 2017 where many accounts started to get frozen for no reason and they were forced to comply.

Most exchanges are like this these days. Same thing happened with Poloniex shortly after and that exchange was also KYC-free for many years prior to 2017.

Regulations in Crypto are changing and sites will need to comply if they want to stay in business.
6751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any TA guys you trust? on: March 28, 2019, 04:33:24 AM
The issue with TA is that it is never close to 100% accurate, actually its probably hard to find any TA that is accurate maybe 25% of the time.

Most trading is still done with TA instead of Fundamentals but how do people make money then? The answer is risk/reward.

If you got a strategy where you only take trades where your risk/reward is 5x then you can make money with a TA method which is correct 25% of the time.

Problem with the retail market is that they usually have negative risk/reward. They basically want a TA method to be 100% correct and they basically risk $100 and take profit at $25 and a loss at $100. So with this method they would need to be correct 4x as much just to break-even which is not possible due to commissions and spreads.

So this is why some of the Tradingview authors and different stocktwits traders make money but the people who follow them can't.
6752  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 29 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: March 28, 2019, 04:28:19 AM
Primedice is home to the Bitcoin high rollers!
Check out this 6 Bitcoin bet!
It does take some rather big balls of steel to put 6 btc on the line at a 50/50 chance. Because dice is so fast you can lose it in a split second.
Primedice was one of the oldest betting site that I know,
It is one of the best and most of the players are kind.
Back when I was still playing there some of the players would have some fun in the chat and tip other player.
It is one of the oldest and one of the most trustworthy casino that you can ever gamble with.

While stake reached it's 4 billion bets, as per title PD has made 29 billion bets and that's no joke.
Hearing about stakes fourth billion bets made was wondering what the very first dice has done in its existence so far and now we all have that number so thanks for looking it up and making all know too.

Other sites have more bets but less high rollers. Smiley

The success or ranking of a dice site should never be compared to the amount of bets. There are many reasons for this. One reason can be that sometimes they have promos like "On the 10th billionth bet, get 1 BTC", etc and this introduces massive amounts of bots flooding the site and doesn't really create much productivity to the site.

A dice site ranking in my opinion should be calculated by the amount of bets X bet size and aggregated as a whole. So if someone makes 1 bet for 1 BTC and another site has 100 bets for 0.01 BTC each then they would be of equal weight.

To make it more accurate it can also be calculated based on the sum of USD bets since the price of BTC fluctuates too much. So basically if a site had more bets during the $200 BTC days it would appear they have a higher rank than a site which had less bets during the $20000 BTC days.
6753  Economy / Gambling / Re: slots.com on: March 28, 2019, 04:22:24 AM
Didn't realize it was owned by Calvin Ayre, do you guys know who he is exactly? He is the guy with the idea behind Bitcoin SV.

From what I understand he is very rich and sometimes a little crazy. Either way since its owned by him its most likely not an outright scam, since I doubt he would put his reputation on the line by stealing deposits from his site. Also it has a great domain name and the domain name itself can be worth millions.

I am surprised he hasn't marketed the site some way, at least posting it on the Bitcointalk Gambling ANN. Maybe he is waiting for more Crypto adoption.
Would you mind on where you do get such source?Any links?I cant able to search it out. If thats the case the theres no point that he would really risk up his reputation on this one.

All it takes is a simple Google search for "Calvin Ayre net worth" and you can see that he has an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion.

He got rich because he ran a poker site called Bodog. If you want more info about him just go to his wikipedia page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_Ayre

And you can see that he has been involved in many shady things. He got a bad rap recently because he is believed to have sold massive amounts of BTC to fund pools for his BSV coin.
6754  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Another day another scam on: March 28, 2019, 04:08:31 AM
Google ads must be aware of this kind of strategy to keep our community safe. I'm sure that who owns the ads is from Indian country because I bought a course from BHW called "zero cost advertising" and joined in their big skype group and most of them are Indian people.
The method is abusing the $100 USD free from google ads and advertise anything they want and bypass the google terms by clocking the landing page.

I hope that Google should remove the free $100 advertisement because this is the reason why we suffer about this kind of strategy that promotes a fake wallet in Google, Youtube and other Google ads partners.

Removing the $100 free add won't help because the hacker will just use some stolen CC's he buys off the dark-web. The amount of ad campaigns that are created everyday far outweights the amount of staff on hand in Google's fraud department to detect all these scams.

This is actually the reason why most Credit Card companies and Facebook ads have banned anything related to Crypto because there was just too much scam going around and it was a headache and they just removed them all together.

This thread is about 1.5 years old and no idea why it was bumped all of a sudden. Some mod should lock it since there is a similiar thread like this already being discussed a few weeks ago.

Normally when an old topic is bumped there is a warning saying, that "Its an old thread, as your sure you want to reply to it" and its very hard to miss because its in special colors and fonts. No idea why it was bumped for no reason.
6756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bottomed out ? TA analysis. on: March 27, 2019, 06:27:37 AM
Here is an update regarding the OP.

up to this moment, more signals are starting to appear on the charts are suggest we have already bottomed.

everything mentioned in this analysis will be invalidated if we close below both 200SMA on the weekly and 50SMA on the monthly, as well as the  major support area that still sits around 2700-3200. these now are the major bottom-guide-line , this is pretty much all we have from history data.

a close below 2700$ is a probably a fall to 1100$  or 1800$ at best case scenario although that is a very week support.

so what do we do now ?

we stay calm, relax. do not rush to sell should price dip fast below support areas, wait for at least a daily candle, we are closer to the bottom than ever, some shaking out will happen, many people will fold right before the bull run, DO NOT RUSH,DO NOT FOMO, relax and watch only the daily chart for now, do not stress yourself with small time frames, nothing major is going to happen, we will probably have this slow market around for months, a few wicks can happen here and there, do not fall for it, and when you see a clear sign for another waterfall, do not sit there and wait, dump it while you can.

You should post some updates charts, especially the 200 SMA weekly. Basically since we had a huge rally in the last 200 weeks the 200SMA price keeps increasing every week that goes by. Currently its at $3448, when you made this thread back in December it was at $3220.

Now depending how much chop we keep getting for the next few months, price can go nowhere and it might reach $3900 for the 200 SMA weekly and it can easily break it while the $3100 might still hold.

6757  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen when the stock market crashes? on: March 27, 2019, 06:19:43 AM
People have been assuming the stock market is going to crash since 2010. Lately all over the social media targetted towards investors and on CNBC they are saying that some recession is coming soon due to the negative yield.

Let me tell you one thing, if it was that easy to prove when a recession will start then my Grandmother would be trading some stock puts options.

Everyone is trying to catch a stock market crash and shorting the top which is no different than the people buying BTC at $6000 expecting to catch the bottom. If a stock market crash, it will come when you least expect it.

Please update the first page! Where is Mobile App V2.0? Where is the new roadmap?
The news were not updated since last year.
A lot of obsolete info.

In general they are more up to date with info on https://medium.com/@musicoin

Honestly after the crypto crash of 2018, most people don't frequent Bitcointalk for some reason and instead go to other services like Discord or Twitter.

I know for sure the App is definately not out for iOS because looking at their history the last update was on Jan 31 2019 for 1.1.0 version which was just a small change for the splash screen.
6759  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience is the main key of success on trading platform. on: March 26, 2019, 09:41:16 PM
He is correct. The reason why 99% of the retail traders have trouble making any money in the markets whether its Crypto or Stock or Metals or Oils is because they are impatient and they don't want to wait.

Basically I was like this also. I bought one stock, it didn't go up the next day so I sold it and bought another. That stock didn't move either, so I sold it and bought another. Eventually I was losing money due to commissions and spread even though the stock hasn't moved at all. Then looking in hindsight if I only held the stock a couple weeks, I would of made some money.

This is also largely that most retail traders only have a few hundred or thousands of dollars in the markets. So if you are trading stock, you can't buy any more than 1 or 2 stocks at a time, even on margin. So you are sitting around waiting and its easy to get impatient. So this is why having more capital sometimes help in trading.
6760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lightning Network will help bitcoin`s price reach 6,000 USD in November on: March 26, 2019, 09:37:54 PM
This is the reason why Bitcoin crashed so hard last November. Basically everybody assumed that "November" and "December" are usually bullish months and they went all out and overleveraged themselves and this is what caused that massive crash.

Right now we can only hope that $4200 area gets engulfed and we close above it on the weekly candle and then we hope that it won't crash under it. If we get this, then this will be the first time since the ATH since we get a weekly close above a previous pivot.

All these predictions are all guesses in my opinion and they should all be taken with a grain of salt.
