There are many claims out there. For example many people have come out to say that cryptsy stole from them. In many cases those were just impatient people that thaught posting accusations here before contactint the exchanges support would be a great idea.

plus500.com short LTC ..I am

Which timeframe does plus500 allow on cryptocurrencies now?

Answer:

Warning! - Litecoin value is extremely volatile. Expires daily!

I really don't see the sense in that...

The volatility rule pretty much applies for every crytp currency. Since they're market prices driven solely by people's interest and there are no limitations set, it means that anyone can come in and play with the price. Bears, willy's, whales. All sorts of things.

So taking this debate to other level..!
If anyone here heard about Prahlad Jani ?
This man claims to have lived without food and water since 1940,
Put into Investigation thrice but noone noticed anything suspicious other than that its not Scientifically Possible.

It's an interesting story but honestly, to me it receives more attention that it should. Magazines and website keep bringing this up all the time. The thing is, that they don't get the news from a creadible source. He became famous though a discovery channel documentary. And  how much credibility can you give to that? All those investigations are medical tests that took place to see if he was healty. Those "Investigations for the benefit of mankind" sound like total BS to me.

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0u6eJB9GLY James Randi debunking this in almost 5 minutes.
6765  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 06, 2014, 02:08:01 AM

just sayin...

DUH!

wtf did you think was gonna happen?

Too soon.

No seriously though, saying that bitcoin will replace X in general sounds a bit dull to me.

Is there max post per month/week restriction ?

There is a monthly limit of 2.4 BTC but I think that that's it. Besies that, you should be careful not to get banned for spamin. Yeah, that's a thing too.

Today I stumbled upon this video. It was amusing and I thaught some people here would enjoy it too. Scrooge was my favorite disney hero as a kid, it was quite nostalgic for me too. What do you think?

Saothsi worked too hard on Bitcoin to 'deny' his coins.
Holy shit, isn't this the thing we're trying to achieve, to raise beyond Fiat?

Hell yeah it is... This post is just nonsense if not a bad troll atempt.
6771  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 05, 2014, 05:47:29 PM
It went up since yesterday night. Let's hope a whale won't put it 20$ down again.
6772  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dying HYIP, admin. claimed 2 try 2 refund our investment on: June 05, 2014, 05:28:56 PM
More refunds paid. Another 1 coin sent to freejack. Not all refunds that were paid are from members who actively post here. Many are from emails.

Would you mind to give us some insight on why this is taking so long if possible?
6773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Height of Greed- Deny Satoshi's Bitcoin on: June 05, 2014, 05:21:12 PM
Are you sure? Is it not possible for you to convince the majority of the network to fork and destroy, for example, my coins if you wanted to?
There's not even a known way of how to do this because it's actually impossible. This has never been done, even in bitcoins early days where adoption was minimal and the mining network was weaker. Think of it for a moment. You think that convincing an entire network such as bitcoin's one to turn against you as an individual would be something easy?

Is the network itself not a central authority?

You should get your head around what centralised means. While let's say a government has a head of one person (the president) bitcoin has thousands of equal nodes.

See how well distributed they are around the world.

stop worrying about 51% attack and start worrying about price.  why would a multipool attack a coin it's mining and thereby making it worthless when everyone flees?

I know a 51% attack on dogecoin is not likely to happen. It's just that I wanted to point out some facts. As of the price, there's only one way up there.

6777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Height of Greed- Deny Satoshi's Bitcoin on: June 05, 2014, 04:26:08 PM
If coins held by Satoshi is destroyed/denied my democracy called Bitcoin. I'm sure, everybody gains. And every rational human being tries to maximize profits. So why aren't they denying his fortune which in fact is no use( Of if it is used in future, it would only cause instability to Bitcoin economy)
Why not people are working on it?
Is Bitcoin truly democratic? Tongue

Genius like him are never into money. What good is money for him?. Wink

Because it belongs to him. If we start working to deny people their coins we destroy the currency.

Pretty much this. This reply to the OP sums it up perfectly in a single sentence. What advantage would bitcoin have above FIAT money if a group of people, no matter who they are, could deny you your money. Does that sound fair to you? Bitcoin is truly democratic because I can't use a law set by a central authority to mess with what you own. No matter how you arned it. Absolute and total neutrality, this is what makes bitcoin special (along with the other innovations. You can use it in whatever way you like, but it's up to others to decide  whether they should trust you or not.

Unauthorized Securities Sale? Seriously? He wasn't the only one handing out securities, what made his case more special than all the other share being sold for bitcoins?

“Potential investors can be easily enticed with the promise of high returns in a new investment space and also may be less skeptical when assessing something novel, new and cutting-edge.”

I wonder if this will have any impact at all to existing bitcoin securities. I can't think of any way the feds and the SEC could fight this. Unlike his case, most people using bitcoin and handing securities keep themselves anonymous.

I see that forbes is taking bitcoin seriously. I'm aware that they cover a huge variety of topics but they're also well known for their financial information. Many wealthy investors use them as their news source. More and more writters of theirs seem to be writing about bitcoin lately. Every time I see an article in their website about bitcoin, it makes me happy. It's certainly good exposure for bitcoin. Smiley

Also this amazon patern that mentiones Bitcoin and digital cash payments.

You could say that Forbes is now a reliable news source for bitcoin related news.
