6761  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it profitable to mine? on: September 30, 2014, 05:29:00 PM
with this usb chip you won't able to get a single bitcoin in your whole life
not even your grandson or his grandson will get a full bitcoin with this

right now you are better off buying the coins instead of HW*.

* Only if you think the price of bitcoin is going to rise.

What if the price continues to go down and stays there?

It would mean that new mining gear would offer more hash in the short term to compensate the risk and return ratio
Also means that if the price goes up by a significant margin miners would start ROI much faster in theory.
6762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wishes they had bought bitcoin when it was $540 or so? on: September 30, 2014, 05:26:11 PM
Not me.. Smiley I can buy it right now for a lesser price.

Markets are like that although at this time I do wish that the market would go up to that price for a bit
So I could release a few bitcoins lol.
6763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on Dogecoins? on: September 30, 2014, 05:14:21 PM
Seriously it's totally out of my expectations. Thought they were dead but the recent rise prove otherwise.
It helped that paypals variant accepts dogecoin and they have low low sending costs for microfinance applications.
6764  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: September 30, 2014, 05:00:32 PM
Looks like they added a new Headquarters

UN's Ebola virus HQ in Ghana opens
UN mission tasked with figuring out where the greatest needs are and making sure aid gets there

The UN mission to combat Ebola opened its headquarters on Monday in Ghana, where it will co-ordinate international aid to assist West Africa to combat the accelerating crisis.

This outbreak has spiralled into the worst ever for Ebola, and the World Health Organization says it is has linked more than 3,000 deaths to the disease. Even that frightening figure is likely an underestimate of the true toll, said WHO. Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have been hit hardest. Senegal and Nigeria have also been touched, but have not reported a new case in weeks.

In the face of desperate calls from governments and aid agencies on the ground, many promises of aid have poured in recently, and some of it — from health care workers to surgical gloves to protective suits for doctors and nurses — has begun to arrive. But some say the response is still too slow and haphazard.

Meh progressing slowly

6766  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Prison for Kicking a Cat? on: September 30, 2014, 04:53:12 PM
I would say give the guy some community service or something
If he kicked a human probably would get something similar to that or made to pay damages or a fine

Hmmm offered rewards to potential witnesses to animal abuse; trained prosecutors; and made inroads in pushing law enforcement across the country to arrest, and seek jail time for, animal abusers.

I could argue that he is under duress right now and that his right to a fair trial is impeded by the funding of animal rights activists given the information provided about this case XD.

Also known as this is an incentive based case
6767  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] DiceBitco.in Signature Campaign - Continued Again... on: September 30, 2014, 04:49:27 PM
Ohh I thought this was actually a continuation of the sig campaign, now I have to go find another one, payment is tomorrow I guess?

also one more thing username AKA Trade fortress left me a negative, will this effect me?  cause I stood in the campaign and he left me for staying.

Trade fortress left a negative to more or less everyone used that campaign.

It won't effect since he isn't at default trust. (before depth of 3)

Well after inputs.io
His depth is buried so its pretty much just a deadweight rating
A lot of people have those lol.
6768  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB Drugs on: September 27, 2014, 08:51:33 AM
We shouldn't discuss this or do business like this here,do you want the government to take this forum down for some illegal transaction?

Which government? This forum is worldwide and there are a lot of countries where drugs are legal. Stop your coward government-lover mind.

True enough still sort of amused to see a drug thread on here been a while since the SR days .
6769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on Dogecoins? on: September 25, 2014, 05:15:05 AM
Honestly, I thought it was dead. I have some stowed away from having a couple hundred referrals on pokershibes, and I'm intrigued to see what will happen with them!

Na dead is something like mmm Picoin theres too many to count on the map of coins
http://mapofcoins.com/

Doge still trades at 70 sats on large exchanges and a few gambling sites do take doge as an investment option so its around.
That and the Unesco award lol

6770  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-23] C/Net: Bitcoin-mining company Butterfly Labs shut down by FTC on: September 25, 2014, 05:09:01 AM
I almost feel like we should all be throwing Jalepenos in the air or having some sort of celebration
Butterflys everywhere and a Monarch sitting in the corner smiling as we go on an acid trip on the road to nowhere anytime soon trademarked as 2 weeks ^^.

__
Responding to the FTC's lawsuit, Kansas-based Butterfly Labs said Tuesday it was "disappointed in the heavy-handed actions" of the commission.

Lol.
6771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on Dogecoins? on: September 25, 2014, 05:03:23 AM
They will be around for some time
It will have its ups and downs but if it can keep its community and people interested it may have a future
6772  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Sep. Joke contest WIN up to 5$ on: September 25, 2014, 04:59:50 AM
What's the difference between a blind man using a map and a truckload of BFL Jalapeños?

The blind man has a chance of finding a block.

PM me in 2 weeksTM

6773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info on: September 25, 2014, 04:56:27 AM
Safeish
It's not as safe as an encrypted to a USB stick full version Bitcoin client
But its not an instantwallet or inputs.io

I would say to keep a small amount in the blockchain wallet but for larger amounts go to cold storage if you don't trust your laptop.

OH and Online Wallets can scam you so even if its coinbase or bitpay would not give it all my trust could always end up goxed someday in the future.
6774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do YOU see bitcoin in 1 month? 1 year? 5 years? on: September 25, 2014, 04:53:29 AM
As the title states, share your beliefs!

Personally:

1 month - Same as now (price wise, no major adoption taking place)

1 year - Price is 'steady' at 2k, adoption by a few chains online and fewer locally.

5 years - Price is still at 2k, adoption is close to peaking, with most retailers accepting it online and some locally.

1 Month (500-600)

1 Year Depending on the speed we come out of the selling pressure curve caused by merchant adoption
Either (700 or 3250)

5 Years Adoption and selling have balanced out at this point in time we have a good stable network of flows and ebbs
So around 3000 stable to 10,000
6775  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difficulty with Exchanges on: September 25, 2014, 04:51:54 AM
I can't tell from your question if you want to buy or sell bitcoins
IF you want to get a few bitcoins quickly use quickbt and a cell phone then interac debit the balance over
IF you want to get a lot more bitcoins join cavirtex etc and finish the sign up process so you can deposit large amounts.

IF you want to sell bitcoins to others Localbitcoins and people in the area
IF you want to sell bitcoins to market you need to use an exchange and probally need to do KYC/AML to transfer money to your bank account

Think that sums it up.
6776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Litecoin hold the #2 spot? Doubtful..and here are the coins who will benefit on: September 25, 2014, 04:45:12 AM

6777  Economy / Services / Re: Pocket Dice Signature Campaign on: September 25, 2014, 04:39:59 AM
Keeping this under observation see how it turns out
Technically still have a few days with this one since Doog is securing it also someone who would make a good escrow.
6778  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: September 25, 2014, 04:37:53 AM
Is he still active on the forum?

He comes back every few months at least that was what happened with the July 1st post
Lets just say he has balls of steel.
March June and Now almost end of September
6779  Other / Archival / Re: remove on: September 25, 2014, 04:36:11 AM
Bitcoin price is under the sea
Going to collapse and bring about catastrophe
In this Armageddon world
6780  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: September 25, 2014, 04:32:43 AM
is it worth investing in ASIC? want to read your opinions

No...if you mean ASIC as in mining gear....investing in ASIC Miner = maybe it is all a gamble.

Similar opinion difficulty spikes are starting to be not so dramatically high at least since July 12
If your a bit of a risk taker guess this recent period is better than March to June 29 lol
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

That said central mining does seem likely as more mining farms come on but would say its remotely possible to ROI this time around, economies of scale and what not.
