Didn't realize it was owned by Calvin Ayre, do you guys know who he is exactly? He is the guy with the idea behind Bitcoin SV.

From what I understand he is very rich and sometimes a little crazy. Either way since its owned by him its most likely not an outright scam, since I doubt he would put his reputation on the line by stealing deposits from his site. Also it has a great domain name and the domain name itself can be worth millions.

I am surprised he hasn't marketed the site some way, at least posting it on the Bitcointalk Gambling ANN. Maybe he is waiting for more Crypto adoption.
6762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine on a Dime. on: March 26, 2019, 07:10:22 AM
Your system specs are not bad but your GPU is useless in mining anything.

Just go on eBay or Craiglist and for like $75 or so you can get a used RX 470 4GB and you can mine ETH with it or XMR CN R. After a few months if you get bored, you can probably sell the GPU for the same price you paid. And most likely the GPU will still have some form of warranty since they are not that old.

Nvidia GPUs are faster and more efficient but they are usually more expensive since they had a higher MSRP and there is more demand by gambers for them. With AMD you can get a fairly good deal and especially the RX 470/570.

Since I don't have the 1080Ti in my farm, I've never actually used "the pill" and I was wondering what exactly happened with "OhGodAGirl"?
Can someone sum it up? Did she end up scamming certain people? What does she have to do with ProgPOW?

I always assumed she was wolf0's girlfriend or wife since his software in the past had the prefix "OhXXXX". Wolf0's been pretty legit and has a good reputation and such. Many of the algo's he's released for free.
6764  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we are the beginning of a new bullrun? on: March 26, 2019, 06:59:53 AM
Like many of the comments posted in this thread. I wouldn't use that as a reliable indicator to predict a reversal.

Honestly the only way to predict a reversal is by basic TA and unless we close above $4200-$4400 sometime in the next few weeks/months, then we are still in a bear-market. And we can easily retest the $3100 area and the 200W MA which everyone is hoping will be strong support.

Since everyone hopes its strong support, it most likely will break and we might test the $3000 psychological number. But right now its difficult to tell because BTC moves around 1-2% daily and its becoming really boring of late to trade.
6765  Economy / Speculation / Re: My prediction: in 4 months time we will reach 18,000,000 BTC @ 5555 USD each on: March 26, 2019, 06:54:22 AM
I think $5.5K is a good prediction however it doesn't necesarrily mean we will stay above it.

When $6K broke, there was many short positions that entered. Basically many people were over-leveraged and got margin called/rekt/stops hit, and the the people who took the opposite side are the ones who are sitting at massive profit right now. Most of the smaller traders probably covered their positions but not all the larger traders.

Hence there is a good chance that we might retest the $6K area, however no idea if we can stay above this area. Most likely we might form a cup and handle towards the end of the year.
6766  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 29 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: March 26, 2019, 06:50:52 AM
Anyone having some problems on primedice right now? the page loads but there is a message saying "We're sorry — something's gone wrong. No network connection!"

The site loads fine for me. If you want a 3rd party site to test it for you, you can always use the https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ which will tell you if its your connection or something actually wrong with the site?

I haven't gotten your error before on PD but I've gotten it before on other sites and the reason is usually a poor wifi connection. Basically the connection is frozen and the router is trying to reestablish the connection and the site detects that you are offline.

Try a differnent wifi channel with less interference or if you got some mining rigs near by then just use a CAT5 network cable and you will never get this issue again.
6767  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Breakout Scheduled for August, Says Fundstrat’s Tom Lee on: March 25, 2019, 07:24:52 AM
I wouldn't take too much thought into this prediction. Remember what happened last year?

Everybody assumed BTC would go back to ATH after the tax due date? It rallied for a month and then started heading back down again.

Same for the prediction that it would rally from $6K in Nov-Dec 2018 because its usually when BTC has a bullish move. Instead what happened? The complete opposite and it was a nasty crash. And the crash was nasty due to all the over leverage people who assumed it was the bottom and were wrong and unless you used 1x leverage, you would of been most likely liquidated.
6768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help with RX 470 Voltage Setting on: March 25, 2019, 07:21:20 AM
Is this a rig full of GPUs or is this just in your PC where you only have 1 GPU which is your main GPU?

Reason why is because if you got 1 GPU inside the 16x 3.0 slot, then it will run at x16 speed and  require more voltage than some GPU which is inside a x1 slot inside a USB riser.

So if you are getting this issue then you need to up the voltage a little bit because it will never be stable this way. Or just force it into x1 mode in your bios if its available.
6769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling sites can cheat you on: March 25, 2019, 07:11:41 AM
what about when I deposit to the site but the balance in the account doesn't increase. does that include the gambling site scam or am I wrong in entering my money?

Well either there is some technical error on the site, such as their bitcoin daemon crashed and they weren't processing deposits/withdraws and it will get fixed eventually. This happens sometimes from time to time especially with coins like ETH since the blockchain is so large.

However when this happens it can also mean you sent it to the wrong address by getting some malware on your computer which is called the clipboard virus which basically waits until a BTC address is copied and it pastes the thief's BTC address when you go to send the coins. They never arrive at the destination because you sent it elsewhere. This is common, especially with newbies with Windows 10 which is full of bugs.

If its neither, then most likely the gambling site is a scam and they are cheating you. But you can easily avoid this just by taking time to read some reviews on Bitcointalk first.
6770  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyway to get old version to sync? on: March 25, 2019, 05:58:49 AM
Thank you everybody that replied.

Basically like the earlier posted suggest, I tried to broadcast the transaction but it got some server not broadcasting error and had to use an online block explorer to push the transaction.

Since most of the "good" servers will upgrade to the latest version, i'll in the meantime just run an electrum server and in the near future when I got some spare time go and upgrade both copies of Electrum on cold+hot systems.

Anyone know why when I sync now I get "Not Verified" as the status which is the transaction I just sent? Should be a green checkmark and instead it's some 3 Grey gear logo?

6771  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Anyway to get old version to sync? on: March 24, 2019, 04:05:34 AM
I've manually tried like 10 servers and finally found 1 that it connected to and sync'd fully.

What is the exact risk in using the hacker's server exactly? Besides privacy issues.

Is it possible for the hacker to change the unsigned transaction code and change the destination/change address to theirs? I don't think that's possible.

Even if it was, I would notice the different addresses in the cold electrum version and wouldn't sign them.
6772  Bitcoin / Electrum / Anyway to get old version to sync? on: March 23, 2019, 10:42:20 PM
I noticed that within the past couple of weeks there was some change that prevents old versions of electrum (3.0.5) from syncing. It's stuck on "synchronizing" forever.

Upon reading the forum it seems this can be fixed with an upgrade to the new version. However if you are using cold storage like me, then the unsigned transaction format has changed and version 2.x.x won't sign with the latest version.

So you need to upgrade the cold storage machine. However if you are paranoid like me then you also need to verify every single dependancy that is required like Python since it requires a newer version from Electrum 2.x.x. And this is very stressful and time consuming.

Wondering if it's possible to get the old version to sync somehow?
6773  Economy / Speculation / Re: On whales and their impact on: March 23, 2019, 05:39:27 PM
Basically people all over the trollboxs and Reddit keep complaining that they are losing money due to manipulation which is done by the whales. However they never complained when BTC reached $20000 and ETH reached $1400.

I don't think there is 1 or 2 whales which control the entire market. I just think it mostly is a bunch of separate large traders which follow the same trades. When one whale shorts, they see the market reaction and they short also.

Back in November everyone was bullish because they assumed that $6K was the low and usually BTC has a bullish November month so they all went long on margin. But the large traders knew that since it failed to close on a weekly high we might get new lows, and they were correct.

I don't think this is manipuation.
6774  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 29 Billion Bets | 112+ BTC Jackpot! on: March 23, 2019, 05:26:06 PM
In the past there were a few casinos which had their own exchange against different alts. They usually had a large spread to cover any sudden alt coin price swings however it was removed later mostly due to lack of interest.

I think this was more of a situation back at the end of 2017 when you had to pay $50 just to get a transaction to confirm within 2 hours. Since the Bitcoin network fees have gone down to reasonable levels there doesn't seem to be a need for other alts at the moment.

The only alt that exchanges should consider however is some form of stablecoin. This was discussed in the past and many operators don't want to add a stablecoin such as USDT due to regulations that it might entail.
6775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: March 20, 2019, 10:03:51 PM
my electricity cost went up from 0.103 to 0.12

im still mining at a profit, but im not sure how much longer i can mine and pay out of pocket for electricity

im thinking i can turn off my 1060s and just keep the 1080tis going until the bulls come back and the market improves

or just sell the 1060 3gbs

Well Summer is coming soon and many people will have higher electricity rates since rates are almost always higher in the Summer due to high AC use which causes massive demand for electricity at peak times.

Are your electricity rates permanent or do they vary depending on the time of day? Because in some areas the rate is cheaper at night than it is during the day and it works out for some miners since they don't want to heat their home even more in the hot summer weather. Hence mining at night is more ideal.

Either way... we need ProgPOW or ETH at $400 or BTC at $6000 at least to make decent income from mining.
6776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.4.2 - Optimized AMD GPU Miner for lyra2rev3, lyra2z, phi2 on: March 20, 2019, 09:59:04 PM
Alright here is an update. I finally managed to get 1000 H/s out of my RX 470 4GB Hynix GPUs with Windows 7 using the Blockchain drivers and memory strapped with "Pimp my straps".

However I am getting a weird issue. Sometimes all my GPUs hash at 1000 H/s however if I close the program and restart right away, some hash slower like 850 H/s. If I restart windows, it sometimes goes back to 1000 H/s however sometimes it does not. I basically need to power cycle it a few times to get all the GPUs to hash at their max speed. Anyone ever get this issue?

I confirm. I sometimes have this problem.

What version of windows are you using and what AMD drivers? Also what GPUs does this happen on?

I am trying to find the cause of these issues because it doesn't seem to happen with ETH mining... only XMR.

Also I just noticed now that I posted in the wrong thread... I am referring to the CN R mining algo and not Lyra but assuming people here also have the same issue.
6777  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc's possible next moves on: March 20, 2019, 09:55:52 PM
I think that Bitcoin is basically lagging the moves of Ethereum and Litecoin, possibly only Litecoin.

Basically the sell off earlier was because LTCUSD hit resistance at $59.75 area (Binanace chart) which was resistance since it was prior support before March 18th 0600 GMT.

This area was test twice prior and on the third test it was rejected hard and LTC dumped into the lower $58 area which looks like it maybe held.

Looking at the Bitcoin chart of the similiar range, it didn't really have any resistance areas to cause the sell off, so basically it was lead by LTCUSD.

Which is similiar to what happened also on March 17th at 0000 GMT, basically there was a huge dump and it was most likely because it was the retest of the ETHUSD $141 area which was an important level, basically was strong resistance, then falls break, and strong resistance again.

I am requoting my last post because it looks like we might be aproaching an important $4K bitcoin breakout. A few days back I mentioned that BTC was lagging by LTC and ETH moves. It was starting to look toppy until last night.

Basically there was a huge dump on both LTCUSD and ETHUSD and support actually held, this is very bullish. So I am thinking that LTC and ETH will start to lead the rally first and then we should see BTC clear the $4K major resistance.

I am looking at $141 and $160 breaking with conviction on ETH and the $62 (Binance chart) breaking on the LTC chart.

Bitmex interest is at record highs... usually it means that there will be a crazy fast move... just don't know direction.
Also 6% of Bitfinex shorts have closed in the last 24 hours.... probably assumed that the bottom is in.

Someone deposited around 0.1 bitcoin in one of my Bitsler deposit addresses.

If this was any of you, then please contact Bitsler support in order to claim it back.

I haven't given out any of my deposit addresses so I have no idea where this came from.

Its nice that you came forward and discovered the error in your favor. Most users/sites would probably not do this.

I think in situations like this its best to just send it back from the source address because you might get bombarded with PM from scammers claiming it was them that sent it.

As long as it came from a personal wallet and wasn't an exchange withdraw then there shouldn't be any issues sending it back.
6779  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com 2 Just Launched! New games, updated design 💎💣🎰🎲♠️ on: March 20, 2019, 09:48:28 PM
No idea if people still use the iPhone 5S (same as iPhone 5 ) but with the default Safari browser I had a friend today who tried the site for the first time on his mobile and he has issues navigating it.

Basically when you go to Stake.com on the browser it displays a graphic featuring 2 dice, however right below this graphic there is another graphic logo that shows "900x" and its labelled as "Dice" however this game when it tapped it actually goes to the Limbo game. So my friend couldn't find how to access the dice game because the text was closer to the Limbo logo than the Dice logo.

Let me know if you have trouble determing what I am referring too, i'll post a screenshot if needed. However I am wondering shouldn't the text of the game be located above the logo graphic and not below it and closer to the next game?

I've tried stake.com on Chrome in DevKit and it worked fine with iPhone 5 to X, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Pixel and everything worked fine with visualization.

There is 100% something wrong with browser setting, graphics are ok

Thanks for trying this out and posting screen shots. But I am talking about the main root directory of https://www.stake.com where the logos are located for the Dice, Limbo, etc.

There is nothing wrong with that actually panel for the game but the main site has some navigation issues because some people are click on one game but it leads to another.
6780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever managed to recover your losses? on: March 20, 2019, 07:23:04 AM
Recovering your losses is easy when its a small loss like 0.01 BTC but when you got big losses like 1 BTC its usually very difficult to fully recover.  I learnt this the hard way years ago when I first discovered dice and martingale. Basically BTC wasn't worth alot back then but I always managed to recover from like 10-12 losses in a row.

Basically if I got like 10-11 losses, I would bet low for a few rolls and usually double my bets and almost always get a winner sooner. However like martingale failure stories goes, eventually I Think I hit like 15 losses in a row, had to bet 1 BTC to make the next roll and ended up with another loss. And was cleaned out completely.

So its not always smart to try and recover your losses "get break-even" because you using are not thinking straight and you are betting 100x just to recover a small initial amount and it leads to massive losses.

This happens everywhere, not just gambling. People who buy cars which are money pits... try to sell them to someone else. People who buy stocks which go down... try to trade on margin to recover their loss", etc. Its human emotion not to lose money.
