6761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17 million Bitcoins in circulation in 3.. 2.. 1.. on: April 26, 2018, 11:02:24 PM
so what is the result of this? because I wonder what is happen except I see the price is getting down under $9k but I see the price still trying to get back to $9k and I still waiting to see another highest price. we still too far to see 21 million is ended by mining and I wonder how much the bitcoin price when bitcoin reaches 21 million.

We are now back at the $9K levels. The movement of the price has no correlation on the 17 million already mine. But again, sometimes we need to see as this is another milestone for all of us as 17 mllions are already in circulation which make bitcoin supply getting thinner. Yeah, it really exciting to see what will be the price when all the coins are mined, I guess above $100K would be good enough for me.  Grin
6762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOS Token (IOST) Ready to boom the market on: April 26, 2018, 10:46:58 PM
IOS Token (IOST) newly listed on Binance is doing really good and will hit 10$ soon. I hope it can happen in a short span of time.

Guys I need your views on it???

I just traded IOST on OKEx but it seems that I can't deposit about a few hours ago. Anyways, Binance is a good alternative as it is the top trading exchanges as of today. Well the last time I check its $0.05 and its already giving us 5x if you started to invest on it at ICO price of $0.01. The price is still a steal for everyone as the project is really solid and the devs behind are working this ass off to make this the next big thing. I'm pretty sure that if it is listed to other major exchanges, the price could take off in the next couple of months.
6763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox BTC sale imminent. Is this the beginning of the real bear market? on: April 26, 2018, 06:07:42 PM
There is a strong possibility the market will crash: if it does buy on the lows and the next surge in BTC and Alts will be the real deal. The surge in April might not have been the real deal?
Opinion only by by me!!
Hope I am right because I want to buy into some positions!
I think the big boys want a major crash so they can get in!
Many missed the boat because they were caught by surprise with the BTC spike that originated from a group or individual that did this!
Regulation is still up in the air!

Lol. What you wanted to happened is to buy more that's why you want the price to go down again. That is not an opinion. That is what you wish for dude so that you can open up your position. Why don't you get in with the current price instead of waiting for thing that will not likely to happen?

And Isn't it the Mt. Gox trustee can't dumped or offload the bitcoins in his possession unless order by the court? And the next hearing will be in September so I doubt the scenario that you are trying to portray will happen unless the trustee decides to offload it without the court intercession. But doing so will result in him getting into jail for sure.
6764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it normal to wait for 6 months for a bounty reward? on: April 26, 2018, 05:24:07 PM
Most of us join bounty campaigns because it is one of the means for us to get coins. I just want to verify how many of us have experienced waiting for a long period of time to get our coins. Don't get me wrong, i do trust the managers and what they say. And, most of them give valid  reasons why it'll take that long for them to distribute the rewards. In average, how long do you receive your coins after a bounty campaign?

That's f**** weird. I think the longest I have waited for a bounty to give us the reward is 2 - 3 weeks. But 6 months? Sounds like scammy to me. Don't get me wrong, I know that you trust the bounty manager, but sometimes their hands ar tied as well and its not up to them to decide. However, its not normal to get your rewards after 6 months, maybe max is 1 month otherwise you should file a scam accusations by this time to see what's holding them back from dishing out the campaign rewards.
6765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you using ETH for? on: April 26, 2018, 04:50:43 PM
What have you been using your ETH for?

For trading
To buy ICO
For long term investment
Other - explain

Good Question. I mainly used it to buy ICO and of course for long term investment. I was very happy last year when I bought it cheap though and then suddenly it went berserk and I was able to get out in time and sell at all-time-high.

I don't usually trade ETH in this bearish market though, what I do is accumulate and if there are good ICO's that I want to invest, then I go with it and try to bought as many ICO tokens as possible and hold for the future. The only drawback with having Ethereum and putting in in a wallet like MEW is the likelihood of a hack. So better get a hardware wallet if you are going to hold on it for the long haul.
6766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17 million Bitcoins in circulation in 3.. 2.. 1.. on: April 25, 2018, 11:19:18 PM
17,000,000 Bitcoins in circulation thread

We are getting closer and closer to reaching 17 million Bitcoins in circulation. It will take a lot of time till next milestone of 18 million coins so I decided to eternalize the moment.

I played with some numbers from https://blockchain.info/charts/total-bitcoins?timespan=30days and I predict that there will be 17,000,000 Bitcoins in circulation on:

Wednesday April 25, 2018 08:40:38 (am) UTC time (forum time) (Unix time=1524645638)

Let's see how accurate is my prediction Smiley

I think you got it wrong already:

16,999,025 BTC  as per coinmarketcap and its about the end of April 25 UTC already.

Maybe tomorrow we are going to hit this milestones. But I'm too lazy to make any computations but I'm pretty sure that in the next couple of hours that 17 millions will be reached. Sometimes we really needed this kind of thread to give us some light moments as everyone is really on their heels specially in the last 4 months or so.  Grin
6767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MyEtherWallet Succumbs to DNS Attack with $ 17 million stolen on: April 25, 2018, 10:33:18 PM
Yea I have noticed yesterday that the website of MEW is not accesable there was something on the page that it was being attack by some kind of crap I thought I was having problem with my Internet or Browser and now that I have read this it is clear now Thanks!

I never check my MEW regularly and as what the OP states, I used etherscan.io first to check my balance and see something wrong with my wallet before logging it. One thing I noticed though is that I have received some weird tokens so
I reported it to be a scam coin.

And now I was surprised to see the news that MEW was exploited again. And this is not the first time that this incident happened so I hope that everyone did learn from the past mistakes and bookmark MEW or used Metatask and be careful on the links that you clicked while browsing the web.
6768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MyEtherWallet hack on: April 25, 2018, 09:52:44 PM
It seems that someone has successfully hacked MyEtherWallet and has stolen some people’s tokens. Mine seem to be fine for now.

Has anyone lost any Etherium or tokens and does anyone know how the hack was perpetrated?

This is potentially a major security risk because we all know that keeping coins on an exchange is a high risk. Now using MyEtherWallet may also be risky.

It was related to MEW's DNS being highjacked. So if you used MEW during the time with that hacked DNS then you're screwed. Otherwise, you're fine.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/8ek86t/warning_myetherwalletcom_highjacked_on_google/

Not again, if my memory servers me right, MEW was attacked using the same exploit months ago isn't it?

I just checked my MEW thru etherscan and my tokens are still intact, but I wouldn't login to my account yet before everything is safe. Hackers really target crypto now more than ever, so be safe everyone because it looks like they are really one step ahead of us. Just be careful on clicking websites that might be a phishing site, or get a hardware wallet if you are holding a lot of tokens worth thousands of even millions USD.
6769  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What amount did you start to trade? on: April 25, 2018, 08:57:58 PM
I have been thinking whether 0.005 btc is good enough to start but it is just for practice trading right, no matter, if you lose the profit at least you will gain experience.  I start my trading in coinut and deposit 0.005 btc when it was around 12k USD. I stop my trading when the fluctuation causes traders to sell high.

Eventually, I am trying to read chart and still losing. I know I need to learn more, and I have tried to trade with altcoins with low price but not yet satisfied.

My question is what is the exact  amount to start  trading and how much profit will you earn. Give me example and I will evaluate.

Please answer my question professionally, I will delete answer with no connection to the topic.

Thank you. GODBLESS.

Based on my experienced, I started with .035 BTC early last year. It was small amount back then although I was able to get play that amount and somewhat made a good profit and made it like x2 at that time (which is I'm very happy), I made some decisions along the way causing me to lose everything. But it was a good learning experience, learn my mistakes the expensive way though.  Cheesy

I guess this time, I'm thinking around .015 BTC - .025 BTC will be fairly good amount and see how it goes for you. That amount is just enough to get yourself started in trading and I hope that you do succeed mate. Goodluck on your new endeavor.
6770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The European Union will strengthen control and introduce a tax on cryptocurrency on: April 25, 2018, 04:20:05 AM
If its good for the crypto market as a whole then why not? EU has always been against crypto in my opinion, but if they wanted to adopt bitcoin and crypto and impose taxes then I guess I'm OK with it. We need to draw the line and regulation will add some form of legitimacy on the ecosystem. Regulations like KYC/AML for exchanges and putting a tax, will somewhat attract more investors in rich laden Europe to pour their cash on crypto, in my opinion. But I'm against a single regulatory body to overlook everything. Crypto is decentralizes, and that said, no one should be on top of it.
6771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shopping using crypto? on: April 25, 2018, 03:52:26 AM
Do any of you have plans on how you'll eventually spend your crypto?

Of course everyone does. That's why we saved or invested on them because later we will eventually have to spend them like buying stuff online. Right now I used my bitcoin to pay my bills online (Internet, Electricity Credit Cards).

I'll be using Zeex Cool Their protocol lets you to buy gift cards directly with crypto and spend them with major retailers like Amazon, Starbucks, Playstation etc. with no fees. And they're backed by their sister company Zeek, which is already the biggest gift card provider in Europe, so the platform will be up and running quickly after their token sale.

Here is their website if you're interested: https://www.zeex.me/

There are a lot of store online that accepts bitcoin as payment. So I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 5 years we will see it universally accepted as payment system and alternatives to Paypal. Well, thanks for letting us know about Zeex, I will have to take a look at it though and lets see how can I take advantage of their offerings.
6772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO SCAM worth $660 Million on: April 24, 2018, 11:10:51 PM

How is that even possible..

A team of 7 behind the Pincoin Token & iFan just did what seems impossible. Through their private & public sale, they have raised an approximate of $660 million from around 32,000 investors, and then ran away.  Shocked

What do you think will happen now to ICO's and cryptos in general? People will now be afraid to invest, and the legitimate projects will be left behind with nothing...

Yeah, I already read this news somewhere and its considered as one of the biggest scam this year and the biggest yet in Vietnam. Just sad that people lose big amounts of money to those criminals.

But if you look closely, the project is promising a return of 40%. Wow, if you thinking logically, how the hell can this company pay its investors this kind of huge return? One must simply used their common sense to not fall for this kind of trap and please don't be greedy because it will cause your downfall.

We don't now where Modern Tech is hiding now, but I'm sure that they are cooking another scam so beware.
6773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Green market on: April 24, 2018, 10:40:41 PM
That's great. The market has turned, the price of bitcoin began to rise again. Bitcoin has grown by 2000 dollars, Ethereum has grown by half this suggests that cryptocurrency is again popular and there is a chance to earn

Its already up by $3K, if you are going to look at the last bottom price of $6500 of bitcoin and ETH almost touch $700. But yes, the market is going green zone now and all investors are a happy bunny seeing their portfolio growing.

I hope though that everyone bought when the price is still cheap, especially altcoins, because once is moves, is really hard to stop them and you can make a lot of profits, you just have to understand when to get out and exit on time.
6774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is whale on: April 24, 2018, 09:38:53 PM

Just a minute of Google search will return a lot of similar thread in the forum. I think you can find the answers on the thread that I have mentioned above.
6775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the success ratio of your ICO 'investments'? on: April 24, 2018, 09:07:49 PM
despite everything, there are still ICOs taking place all over and still a pile of threads about new ones every day.

i would like to hear from people who've already put money into ICOs and whether it turned out to be a great decision or a disaster. i'm not interested in your future price projections, i wanna hear about what happens to your money if you sell today.

let's get an impression of the success ratio here.

I have invested on 2 ICO, but so far I'm disappointed with the price and the return is not what I'm expected it to be currently. But since this bitcoin bull run, I'm seeing one of them gaining steam as well and I'm about break even on the other one but still a look way to go but I'm cool with that.

I believed in the project and I'm sure that it will explode in the next coming months when the devs finally got it going so again, I'm not too worried about selling it today, but would rather hold on it longer term. So right now, I would say I'm still on the negative with my money. But just like what they say, invest what you can afford to lose so I'm still OK.
6776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market has woken up on: April 23, 2018, 09:03:57 PM
wasn't the unorganic growth with everyone foming in, a big cause behind the december crash?
now the same with bitcoin cash! (was spoken about in media).
be careful, it might very well come crashing down shortly. look at the shorts.

It gives me a chuckle that the OP has put Bitcoin Cash as his somewhat example about the crypo sphere waking up. I don't have any investment of Bitcoin Cash to be honest, so I didn't realized that it has gotten to a point of rising 80%? lol.

Again, we have seen this price movement on Bitcoin Cash around November after the forked. But we all know that is a pure pump-and-dump and its very unorganic growth that eventually crash and the so called real Bitcoin suddenly lose its steam.

If they are gaining now, there a big chances that the same pattern will repeat again so I advise everyone to be very careful so that you will not be trap in the long run.
6777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam coins everywhere. on: April 23, 2018, 08:35:38 PM
It really is hard to believe that there are some ICOs who are intended to scam people. There are all hypocrits and rely on the weakness of people especially those who are new to bitcoin. So sad.

i have experienced the scam ICOs a few times, and those times were disappointing. You work hard and put your full effort in doing your task in the campaigns (in terms of bounty campaigns), but inthe end you will have nothing. It is more disappointing to.the people who trusted that ICO and have invested in it and in the end it will be scammed. One reason why up until now I do not invest yet.

Correct, you worked very very hard to promote those project but at the end, they will just disappear and pull a exit and you are not paid for all the efforts you put in promoting them. I have seen like spending 2-5 months and then one day you wake up and the bounty threads are full of complains and scam accusation being thrown around.

And imagine what it really brings to investors. Specially those who have put a lot of money and believing that devs behind are legit, the project genuine but you are betrayed and your money gone very quickly.
6778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: can eth reach over 700 on: April 23, 2018, 02:58:16 PM
The increase in the crypto money market volume has led to an increase in the whole market, mainly bitcoin. Ethereum has also taken its share from here and is increasing its value more and more. I do not see any obstacles for reaching the $ 1,200 levels I've seen before, which will have to go beyond $ 700 first. Stay still ...

Yeah, I'm too excited to see Ethereum just surpasses $600 and going an inch closing to $700. Who would have thought that it can suddenly surges ahead because last week it was just above $400 and people are bitching around that it can go even further and that it may not even get to $1K this year. But lo and behold, the market wakes up, specially bitcoin. So we all know that there's correlation between the two, so when bitcoin goes up, all other alts increased as well. Exciting to see that finally, the bulls have regained the market and we might see a good run starting this week.
6779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about Cryptocurrency? on: April 23, 2018, 02:29:15 PM
Why cryotocurrency is useful?

1. Store of Value
2. Currency

What do you like best about cryotocurrency?

1. Store of Value
2. Currency

What makes cryotocurrency better then fiat?

In the wake of global financial crisis in 2008, Satoshi has more reason to create bitcoin because of this. He wanted to have a form of digital money without any government interfering in the middle (banks).

So it sets a unprecedented scale of people joining the crypto bandwagon because we think that without any intermediaries, we are enjoying this freedom from governments and central banks. That's why you will see governments around the world trying to put a clamp on crypto because they can't really ignore that fact that it is so disruptive and they are going to be the first casualty (banks).
6780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Look for in a New Project? on: April 22, 2018, 04:24:38 PM
I didn't see someone says soft and hard cap? Do you think its one factor to look at a new ICO project? I mean if soft and hard cap is doable I guess that project can at least took off, compare to raising so high soft cap and it the end will just shut down the project regardless on how the team behind is solid, how the white paper is written, how good the project is and business model.

But if the soft cap is not reached because they have set it too high it will eventually fail because the funds is not enough to push the project forward. What you guys think?
