6781  Other / Meta / Re: What if that happens? on: May 07, 2018, 02:16:38 PM
<...>

It has been discussed on the Meta section and, of course, can be interpreted under two different points of view:
1.- This is a new kind of farming-accounts system. This is easy: you create anything with your alt account, merit this and then delete the post, for you will never be able of being accused of being merited by writing garbage. I'm afraid it is efficient for those with alt-farmings-accounts.
2.- From the last month mods have been really actives and they have moved/locked/erased many posts, including some with useful quotes. Maybe many merited posts were deleted as a collateral damage, but we will never know.

Some users are talking about losing the merit you had if the post is deleted, but this is not implemented yet. In my case, I rather prefer for them to implement a "Report possible merit abuse" button in each profile section, for merit is not moderated and I think it should be. Many merit accusations have no fundament, for instance in local boards, where there are fewer people, they merited each other, yes, but, as I have seen, the merits are well-deserved in many cases, and there is not farming at all (for instance, the spanish local section, in which you will find many useful posts made by few, and of course, they merited the quality). That's why the profiles should have this kind of button, and merit system should be moderated due to the increment of farming activity.
6782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does the lawsuit of Bitcoin.com affect Bitcoin prices? on: May 07, 2018, 02:07:29 PM
Every time the price suffers one dramatic change, the people begin to look for reasons. There are always going to be found many reasons, Chinese's New Year, the Taxes period, Bill Gates, God, Google and Facebook banning ads, and a long etc.

Bitcoin price is based on many factors, but, among them, the most important is the selling/buying orders, and (maybe) the fees per transaction.
Of course, regulations, big exchanges being hacked and so can modify its value, but this is not the mean factor.
As I said, you can always find many many explanations for the BTC price, but they are going to be, mostly, subjective.
6783  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is everybody's Bitcoin worth on: May 07, 2018, 02:02:57 PM
Look at the situation in Argentina. The Peso has fallen a 9% in less than a week, and people are again scared of a new corralito.
No currency is totally stable, it depends on many factors, and, yet, the use of the cryptocurrencies is helping many people in countries with an unstable economy. That means: it depends on the point of view of the viewer, for there are many factors to consider.

Money laundering has many faces, also. Bitcoin is nor the perfect tool for doing so, just take a look at the contemporary art market, and you will see how to launder your money in a far more easy way.
6784  Economy / Economics / Re: Overcoming inflation with cryptocurrencies on: May 07, 2018, 01:58:03 PM
Yesterday I was precisely having this kind of conversation with a friend. We were talking about how the crypto may be able of being of help to those people in countries with a great inflation, as Venezuela or Argentina.
The conversation began when he asked me about the fluctuation on the crypto market, and I told him to look at the Peso Argentino the last week, for it has lost more than the 9% of its value, a dramatic fall.
Your situation is a great example. But are you able to cash out your crypto in Venezuela? How do you manage it? Have you had any problem regarding the matter?

We have good friends in Argentina, and they live under the menace of another "Corralito" (If you remember, it was almost 20 years ago, when the banks in Argentina closed up and keep the users' money, leaving entire families with zero capital and many debts). I am strongly recommending my Argentinian folks to change their saves into crypto, for we don't know how Argentina is going to face this new crisis.
You were wise, I'm glad crypto can be such an example of stabilization, despite the attacks it is receiving precisely for its fluctuation. That's prove fluctuation can happen to any currency, and why the crypto can be so useful in a situations as the one you're living.
6785  Other / Off-topic / Re: Human's immortality on: May 07, 2018, 01:40:10 PM
Immortality is one of the central questions for humanity. It has been sought for thousands of years, and this is how religion appears: an idea related to the eternal life. So, in one hand, I don't understand why believers ask for immortality, for they already have it since they are all going to the "heaven".

Nevertheless, is an interesting question. Think about how many things humankind would achieve if some are immortals. For instance, Hawkins. Let's imagine how far he should go in science if he lived forever.
Regarding natural issues, immortality probably would end the humankind. We need to die in order to evolve. This is the mean reason of mortality (according to Asimov, for instance), the ability to give the next generation a code modified by the circumstance If we don't die, then the specimen can' t evolve and it, probably, will mean its end. I think this is applicable to the world of the ideas. I mean, if the elders don't die, maybe the ideas neither evolve as they are doing, but this is really subjective.

Anyway, if humankind achieve immortality, this will be used by a few, the ones with enough money for paying for it.
6786  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Satoshiless Bitcoin on: May 05, 2018, 06:22:14 PM
Hello Auralea, you have a good points to talk about here, lets start.

Dear fellow cryptopians,

I never got why all of the Bitcoin forks focus on such trivial software changes while there is one major problem in my opinion with Bitcoin: the % of Bitcoin held by Satoshi Nakamoto. I realise that whoever SN is, he deserves to be rich for the rest of his life if he truly contributed Blockchain and Bitcoin as an application to the world. However, let me explain why I think the crypto community cannot afford to let SN hold this wealth.

*The bitcoin cash fork wasn't just trival software changes, moving from 1mb block to 8mb was a big step for the coin.
*Satoshi nakamoto is holding  1 million BTC, we all consider those coins lost and he leave us a good quote for it: Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.
*If he move the coins the he will be traceable, that's why it will not happen.

IF Bitcoin continues to rise in price, SN might become the richest person to have ever lived in history except it will not just be value in stocks, it will be in the equavalent of cold hard cash. Of course he couldn't spend it all for the same price due to slipage, but it would be more liquid than any such amount of money before since it is intended to be liquid. We also have to take into account the possibilities that:

1. SN is not a single person but a group, with complex and/or unknown motivations
2. SN is not a single person but an agency of some nationstate or representatives thereof
3. SN is a single person but he has complex/unknown motivations besides innovation
4. SN is a conglomerate of banks who plan to use Bitcoin as a covert way of controlling wealth through POS and owning a large %

*The richest persons in the world get there with big business, this only proves how big bitcoin has become. This great idea called bitcoin is one of the biggest ideas in the human history and deserve to worth those millions.

But i'm agree with you,he could be multiple guys behind the idea, but at end we don't care at all about that because the white paper is clean and the core is open source. That's why we trust it.

My proposed solution:

Fork Bitcoin AND Bitcoin Cash and fully restart their blockchains in a public event. This would include following all of the coding upgrades to these chains so as to keep the code 1:1 equal to the versions including SN's coins. This way, the currencies mining will be decentralised from day one, preventing anyone from grabbing as large a percentage as SN did. I do realise a lot of people WANT SN to have this money, or they feel like he deserves it. As I stated above, I think SN should be rich, but not at the expense of the rest of the network, the decentralisation and the trust we have in the foundation of this system. There can always be a donation system to SN, especially if he/she/they would show their face. I am convinced the crypto community would then make him/her/them instant millionaires, or even billionaires solving two problems in one (their anon status and their wealth).

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate all feedback and responses!

Greetings,

Auralea

*This idea is impossible, you can restart a coin. You can change the genesis block and start a new one.
*If you delete the blockchain, then no one will have btc and we will wait 9 years again to have the amount of btc we have on the market, will be like start from zero again.
*If you don't like how is bitcoin distributed, just take a look to other coins distribution, you will see they are x10 worst than this one  Grin
6787  Other / New forum software / New feature request: a "Report merit abuse button" on: May 05, 2018, 05:58:28 PM
Given the number of farming accounts we have in here, I think this is going to be really useful to the forum system.
What I suggest is to implement a button in each profile in which you can report to mods a possible merit abuse activity, because:
1.- It will ease the work and it will be easier to detect farming alts.
2.- It will clean the meta section of all these accusations against merit abusers (we all see each day new topics related to the point and this is kind of annoying).
3.- It will be under moderation, for not all the accusations related to merit are true.

Well, just an idea. Share your thoughts.
6788  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is no freedom of speech in China. This political means is devastating.中国没有 on: May 05, 2018, 05:48:28 PM

This is it... exactly. How do you think you would react if a plants that you parents and their parents and on and on since the incas was made illegal? I am speaking of coca. Then how would you feel toward those who allow this, by not thinking, and there I am speaking of the entire "civilian" population? would you be friendly with them, when you know they agree in ruining you, jailing you, for what? bringing a product that some people want... then you dare to pretend that the lives of those who allowed that to happen have any value? did I see civilian manifestation in mexico to make coke legal? to allow the spice trade to move this stuff across the land? NO. What I saw, is little fuckers, who took the state propaganda for truth, and smiled and cheered when a narco get caught.

Well, man, I was talking about Mexico. Coca is from Peru, as well as the Inca culture. In here we have Nahuas, Taraumaras, Mayas, Zapotecos, Mixtecos... and there is no historical use of coca in here, but cocoa.
6789  Economy / Economics / Re: tax for a safer crypto environment on: May 05, 2018, 05:32:51 PM
What if our government add tax whenever we transact fiat-crypto and vice versa, and the fund will be used for our protection(ICO,Scams,Phishings), for example the government will make a group or sector that focuses on crypto environtment. what do you think?

It will need a non-corrupted-government to be a reality. I'm afraid this is going to be very difficult to achieve in so many countries, despite it is a great idea, for the current situation in too many places is corruption as a daily reality.
Anyway, taxes are already being applied in some countries, as long as the crypto convert into fiat and depending on the amount you get in the transaction. For instance, in Spain, you will need to pay taxes if your crypto selling activity is more than 1000 euros, as far as I know. But, of course, the taxes are not invested in any activity related to crypto security.
6790  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Help needed recovering Hive wallet on: May 05, 2018, 05:21:34 PM
Hello folks,

I have an old Hive wallet on a MacBook and when I try open it using my password the application just shuts down.  I was able to access it 2 weeks ago.
I have the bitcoinkit.wallet file and the password
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried to uninstall and install back the hive wallet app?
If not, maybe you can try from a virtual machine, if you have the .wallet fie and the pass you should be able to recover it if it works correctly (the wallet app), for it sounds as a problem with the app. Maybe you upgrade your computer and this is not working anymore, for it is really common in IOS system. That's the reason of trying to open it in a virtual machine with an older operating system (the one you had when the wallet app was installed).

I hope it works.
6791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: REGULATION OF CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 05, 2018, 05:13:28 PM
<...>

I don't have any answers but more questions regarding the topic:
1.- Do we want crypto world to become mainstream? And, if such, are regulations necessary to that end?
2.- If so, what kind of regulations can be implemented in order to maintain the crypto word as a decentralized one?

Because I feel there is a contradiction in here. Many people talk about crypto becoming mainstream, also, as a way of payment wide recognized and applicable. But, is such a thing possible without any regulation? Let's think about little business, I don't know, a Cofee Shop in the middle of a little town. Imagine the owner willing to receive crypto payment. Can it be possible with no regulation?
Just questions. I don't have determined my position on the matter yet. But any insight will be appreciated.
6792  Other / Meta / Re: Chatbox here in forum on: May 05, 2018, 04:48:52 PM
But if a giant shit-magnet like that would keep the spammers occupied, it might make the main boards more pleasant to peruse.

Obviously I could be wrong, but is it worth considering?

Jaja. Yes, it could work like you say, and that's a great point, for maybe shitposters will be occupied on the chatroom instead on some boards in here. Nevertheless, I still consider it to be a bad desition:
1.- Because, despite all the features against external links and so, this can be a great place for scammers, merit traders, etc to be in communication.
2.- If so, they will be hard to track, due to the infinite lines of chats we are going to have to analyze.
3.- It will work as a bad image for the forum. A really bad one, for in this chat, I'm sure, there will be anything but dangerous and s**ty stuff.
4.- Mods are occupied enough already, and it seems -to me- unwise to open another place, because, eventually, it will need to be moderated yes or yes (in order to maintain clean the forum image).

I believe the last thing we all need is a new scammers tool.
6793  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is no freedom of speech in China. This political means is devastating.中国没有 on: May 05, 2018, 02:55:47 PM

lol... only little peons who oppose the cartels live in fear... if you are against the spice trade, you better shut up, and never open it ever again, and bow your head, don't look up, never... you are worm, a traitor, a fucking piece shit whose only use is to warn by showing how your dead body rot.

Well, in the history lives of many people (included me and my relatives) we all have at least one deceased and at least one kidnaped, so this is not exactly related to the cartels, as people used to think. The people in small villages, even where there is no narco in the surface (narco is everywhere) have no trust in police or the system, and their lives are always under menace. So, despite the narco, the government, the police system, and even the mind of many are broken, for they don't have any respect for human life anymore.

I really did not read "1984". Please forgive me.
I just paid in kindle and I am ready to read.
I found on the Chinese website that "1984" is a very famous book in political books.

You will find this book to be a description of what you are telling us, I'm afraid. But I think to feel understood is a great step. Do not forget to read Huxley's "Brave new world", as I told you, those two are the basics in the description of what is happening today. Of course, there are many more, but, to me, reading was the most important step I've taken, for it gave me the capacity of understanding that the current situation has been happening for decades, even centuries.

This debate is awesome, man. Thanks for starting that. To be honest, I really used to think about China in a different way, for I've met many Chinese people, but all of them were far from their country.
This is really important to use this forum to have this kind of conversations. We have to seize the opportunity of talking with too many people around the world and it will give us an incredible insight of the opinions and thoughts of other regarding their realities. Given the lack of accuracy of the media, we must talk more between us to be able of drawing a whole picture.
Thanks for that.

6794  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is no freedom of speech in China. This political means is devastating.中国没有 on: May 04, 2018, 06:03:05 PM

However, at least they still have the opportunity.
They can be resolved through elections. Despite the opportunities, opportunities still exist.

However, this opportunity does NOT exist in China.

China has only the CCP. The CCP controls everything.
No power can weaken the CCP. The US government cannot. no one cannot, This is terrible.

The leader of the CCP, Xi Jinping, changed the constitution directly and he could be re-elected indefinitely until he died.  UNTIL  HE  DIED.

I think any wise person will understand what this means.

Well, the elections are just a circus in Mexico. They are always the same people in the government, and they just pass from one to another the command in order to give the people the false image of a democracy, meantime they are killing the people (more than 150.000 deceased people in violent actions in 2017, and it is rising this year).
I just mean the situation is worldwide, I don't want to mean you have not issued, China is under a tyranny and this is indisputable. But, yet, this seems to be worldwide, in many countries they have this sensation of "freedom", but they are conditioned from childhood to behave as they "might". So, where is freedom, then? If you are told how to behave, how to think, if you are conditioned to feel in one or other way...where is the freewill=?

I strongly recommend for you to read a couple of books I consider essential (maybe you have already read them, for they are really famous):"1984", By George Orwell, and "A Brave New World", by Aldous Huxley.
The first was written in 1948 and you will see your situation well described, I'm afraid.
The second one was written in 1921 and it describes perfectly the current situation in the "first world countries"....

I hope it helps to you, at least about feeling more understood. You are not alone in how you feel and think about what's going on.
6795  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is no freedom of speech in China. This political means is devastating.中国没有 on: May 04, 2018, 05:35:32 PM
Your situation seems Orwellian to me. The surveillance system and the control over the people's mind seem to be all the Chinese government is seeking.
Nevertheless, it is happening -somehow- worldwide. In Europe the people are so distracted they don't even care anymore about the control the governments have over them. They just don't care, for they think there is only one reality, the "European" one, and they don't even realize on how much sorrow the European way of life is based on.
In Latin America, for instance, Mexico, somehow people are too scared to open their mouths, so they just try to preserve themselves by being quiet and by trying to don't express an opinion. They just live under a false image of a democracy, in which they wait for years with the hope of a new election that will stop all the violence we are suffering.
In the US the people greet the soldiers and they said to them "Thanks for your service", as if going worldwide to kill people is something to be proud of.

Everywhere, man, everywhere there are implement systems which the goal of lead the thought of the people into something desired.

Of course the Chinese situation is dramatic, as you have well described. I hope more and more people wake up and can see what's going on, but, as you said, they seem to be worried about anything but for what matters.

But what I was trying to point out is just about how is Obama responsible. Pacific coast is also in Mexico and many other countries in latin america and no president has said a word...
In Mexico, at least, some of the industries have made an alert regarding the consume of pacific ocean's fishes, for they seem to be contaminated, but... they don't specifically say how or where.
Anyway... in no time Darwin will take place, jaja.
6797  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cryptocurrency market to suffer from strong correction on: May 04, 2018, 03:40:54 PM
Another "let make people commit panic selling" article, I'm afraid.
Such a kind of words is always related to the intention of guiding (or misguiding) people into a fear selling. Do not pay any attention to them, for they have no serious bases to sustain the motto, this kind of article is always looking for creating some panic selling.
Wich is going to determinate the crypto in 2018 is probably regulation. Many countries are making some policy design regarding crypto and, probably, it will be reflected in the prices of the coins. But, for the moment, the policies seem to be well-directed in countries as the US, Germany, and others.
Let's wait and see. None can see the future, yet.
6798  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biggest media cover up success by Obama admin: Fukushima on: May 04, 2018, 03:35:22 PM
As of now, I can't find any reliable evidence to prove that a large number of people suffered serious health consequences as a result of the Fukushima disaster. For me, this sounds like empty propaganda by the pro-fossil fuel lobby.

Agree. There is much misinformation coming around the matter. Even when -obviously- the increment of radiation in the closest areas have been well documented, It is, for the moment, "under control".
The biggest problem regarding the Fukushima problematic state is the middle-long term situation control, apparently. What is going to be done with all this radioactive material? How to control it, when the "experts" cannot even get close to it, due to the radiation levels, capable of mild-out even the professional cameras inside the tanks?
What is going to happen in the next ten years? Will Tepco be able to contain the issue?
More info: https://blog.nationalgeographic.org/2017/02/22/after-alarmingly-high-radiation-levels-detected-what-are-the-facts-in-fukushima/

Now, the thread mean question was related to Obama and the cover-up of the information.
I just can't see why Obama is responsible for anything in Japan. Why are we always giving the US such an importance? Do we feel that they actually rule the world?

Hello all, can someone help me how can i reach levels here? i have this account since 2017 and still like newbie, thanks, have a nice day all Smiley

Hello there!
Well, to be honest, the first question you should do to yourself is "Why I need to rank up?".
Be careful with becoming obsessed with ranking up, for it is now quite difficult due to the merit system. Nevertheless, you can learn from the best. Just take a look at the posting activity of users as DdmrDdmr or Bitmover, both have rank up in no time, thanks to their amazing contributions.
So, just learn from the best, be humble and never beg for merits or such a kind of attitudes.
The forum is a place for learning and discussing. So read, read and read and you will see how your contributions become better and better, and, with that, you will be able of ranking up.
