6785  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-10] Bitgive Launches Transparency Platform on: December 11, 2016, 01:00:27 PM
“Donors have become more interested in how their funds are spent and they want to see the results,” explained Bitgive founder Connie Gallippi. “It hasn’t been that easy in the past. You may have heard of money being stuck in bank accounts or even going to hands of corrupt officials. Well, that’s over now. With Givetrack we assure that donations reach the people they ought to reach […] Givetrack is a platform that tracks donations and ties them directly to results on the ground. Givetrack uses blockchain technology which guarantees the safe transfer of funds across borders in just minutes.”

Bitgive Developed Givetrack With Help From Several Partners

GiveTrack
BitGive founder Connie Gallippi
Givetrack was developed by Bitgive, and the nonprofit is working closely with several partners. The project was funded by businesses and individuals such as Coinfabrik, Rocelo Lopes of Coinbr, Matthew Roszak of Bloq, and more. Bitgive says future features of Givetrack will create a “broadly-applicable platform, data analysis layers, feedback loops, reporting mechanisms, and more.”

Bitgive says they can’t stop poverty and natural disasters but with help from technology they can help people in need. The nonprofit has worked with bitcoin since 2013 and believes it’s an “amazing technology” when it comes to transparency. “Givetrack will build upon the existing core technology a customized platform for nonprofits that is data centered, user-friendly, and provides a comprehensive user interface,” says Bitgive.

“We’ve been using digital currencies such as bitcoin to fund projects in developing countries around the world,” details Gallippi. “Givetrack can help charities reach their goals without friction and fraud. You can now watch the flow of funds and project results in real time.”

6786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: November 20, 2016, 02:20:07 PM
If we see 100$ for ETC, that will be because Bitcoin has pumped hardly, not because ETC did so.

It is also possible that the $100 price will be very brief. After the pump, the price will drop dramatically.
6787  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: can you trade forex without technical analysis? on: November 08, 2016, 02:09:07 PM
Trading forex more high risk than trading altcoins or bitcoins, because we can not hold position. Of course we can trade forex without analysis tecnical, but it will make our money lost in it. In my opinion trading forex needs analysis tecnical and fundamental for making prediction and making profit into trading forex.

Doing forex is  too complex and  when  you trade without  knowledge and   technical analysis   then you are just  like  throwing your money off. Agree forex and  altcoin/bitcoin trading is different  because we cant  really hold positions and also forex trading do require  huge amounts in able  to start  unlike on alts/bitcoin.

That is right. In order to trade the forex, you need to understand a lot about the currency you want to trade.
6788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump and dump? on: October 12, 2016, 05:51:06 PM
ETH is expected to go HIGH in next 7 days, keep your eyes open  Grin

If this is still gonna happen, I would be very happy, I think that the it can grow a lot more and also gain more worth in the next weeks.
Lets hope it and stay believing in it too.

That prediction was quite accurate, just off for a few days. The bitcoin price is $640 at the moment.
6789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 29, 2016, 06:04:03 PM
Devcon was awesome  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

ETHereum is going places...fast, so much progress it really is amazing.
Buy or hodl ETH as many big announcements will be made public over next few weeks  Wink

The Devcoin was a big success. But it seems it did not affect the Ethereum price. The price is the same as before.
6790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump and dump? on: September 17, 2016, 09:00:03 AM
What's the word on the hack and recovery process?

There is no word about that. That could be the reason why the ETC price is still quite stable and no sing of crash.

So because there is no progress it is stable and not crashing? Shouldn't the opposite be happening?

If the hacker say he will dump the ETC, the ETC price will drop a lot. That is what I am thinking now.
Its thats the case better to convert in ethereum since the ethereum already fix the issue and now its more security than before i just heard by others and the price right now is gradually increasing..

I hope the Ethereum developers can learn the lesson of the DAO problem. Is so, Etheruem will be more secure.

That is right. If there is no more big bugs of the Etheruem, I think the Etheruem price will rise again in the future.

I do agree with you, in addition I can see Ethereum devs are competent enough to more forward and be successful again.

IMO, it is litecoin, obviously bitcoin, and ETC that will surge soon

It is possible the Ethereum will surge in the short term.

Vitalik Buterin will be presenting the newest version of the Mauve Paper (Mauve Paper Version 3 at the time of this writing) in a panel titled: The Mauve Revolution.*

His presentation will take place in the Grand Ballroom on September 19, 2016, 4:30-4:55pm.*

Buterin will discuss proof of stake, Casper, and sharding, which are the biggest upcoming milestones in the always-evolving Ethereum protocol. Proof of stake will offer a reduction in the cost of consensus and is proposed to increase security guarantees. Sharding allows on-chain scaling to tens of thousands of transactions per second while still remaining a network that can simply run on a sufficiently large set of computer laptops. The Casper proof of stake approach introduces a number of concepts that include consensus-by-bet and fork choice by value-at-loss.

Mauve Paper (Version 3) Highlights:

Efficiency via proof of stake.
Fast block time
Economic finality
Scalability
Cross-shard communication
Computational censorship resistance
6791  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-03]Cisco Talos and Godaddy Bring Down Ransomware Malvertising Server on: September 04, 2016, 05:43:33 PM
"Cisco’s security experts managed to bring down the campaign, by collaborating with Godaddy. As it turns out, the server hosting the exploit kit was located in Russia. Internet users who were trying to access legitimate websites would be redirected to this server. In the background, the exploit kit would look for weaknesses on the computer to install different types of ransomware."
6792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think I should rely on altcoin GPU mining? on: August 21, 2016, 05:09:07 PM
it was not temporary, 6 months ago, i doubt it can fall now, there is a well built infrastructure now, big investments all over the place, it will not collapse any time soon

when bitcoin will reocover from the last hack and okcoin shit, things will be very interesting, this is just another dead time...

May I ask that what exactly you mean by "any time soon"? A month, year or what?

According to whattomine.com, currently if I buy 10 of those GPU's, I'll be making $20 profit every day right now.

It depends on if you have cheaper electricity or not.

The difficulty is rising about 30% a month in the last few months. If the trend continues, not many many people will make profit.
6793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Undervalued By Over $200 on: July 23, 2016, 02:59:42 PM
it is not overvalued at all, if anything bitcoin is undervalued right now. but $650 ish is a good price for bitcoin at this point and i believe that looking at the bigger picture with the long term rise starting from last year this is where bitcoin should be right now.

The number of users, the daily transaction indicates the bitcoin is rightly values. If the transactions double, its value will also double.
6794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Undervalued By Over $200 on: July 11, 2016, 08:43:52 AM
The bitcoin is not undervalued. It is the right price for the value. If there are more users, the price will rise.
6795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Undervalued By Over $200 on: June 26, 2016, 09:08:44 AM

yeah but the fall down was not big at all.
it was just small correction when you see the bigger picture here.
$780 was such a big rise which happened all of a sudden and that is why it was also unstable and couldn't hold up.

Yup. It went up too fast. It would be good to see it stabalise at the current price for a month or two before gently moving up again.

That is just my thought. I hope the price can rise slowly and steadily. We do not want big pump and dump.

You can't have a slow and steady rise for ever.
At some point, momentum will build up and the price will shoot.
Boom and bust cycles are part of the life cycle of every asset.

The main reason for the volatility is that the bitcoin is controlled by very few people, they can make profit out of volatility.
6796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Undervalued By Over $200 on: June 09, 2016, 07:29:57 PM
The bitcoin has risen more than $150 from the opening of the thread. So it is just undrvalue by $50 now.

bitcoin is always undervalued by $200

no matter what the price is.

well, if you strictly look at the technology that powers bitcoin and the potential to transform the entire financial industry, then yes, no matter what the actual market price is, bitcoin will always be undervalued in that aspect.

So do you think the bitcoin price was undervalue in Novemenber 2013, when the price reached $1200?

I think the bitcoin was way over valued in late 2013. I think if the price of the bitcoin is 5 times of mining cost, it is overvalued.
