681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 01:23:34 PM
In any case that the OP might lost something in translation. Nevertheless if we clear understand his title so I guess this is where we are going to comment. No, gambling is not for the rich and lucky mind. Because if that happens, then let's say for traditional based casinos, they could have lost a lot of money to their patrons.

On the other hand, it is open for anyone, not just if you have deep pockets. Although that closest that I heard from some old gamblers that around the 80's, they are required to show money before entering a casino here. I'm not sure if that is true or not, but from what I experience, anyone can go inside a traditional land based casino unless you are below their age limit and not showing any money.
682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: November 28, 2023, 12:07:42 PM
in my opinion bitcoin will still fall again, and is currently sideways and retesting whether it can survive and rise or not, but news also affects the price of bitcoin so you have to pay attention to that too.
right now some bad news is circulating, the market is trying to hold on, but there will definitely be a dip after last october's rise, at least the market will dump a little before going higher.

At least we have move past the price wherein we have tested or moving sideways for a long time, $26k-$28k. And with that it's a good indication that now we are trading at around $37k as it's a huge jump already.

And I'm not seeing another fall though, it's very volatile yes, but as you have said, it's holding way above $37k and most likely even if we end at this month, we should be happy and positive about it. And maybe in December $40k will be there for us to take before the end of the year and then prepared us for the next block halving and what follows could be one of the biggest bull run again in it's young history.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alleged Hacking Incident Tied to Bitcoin’s Massive 83.65 Bitcoin Fee Error on: November 28, 2023, 10:01:22 AM
The alleged victim, @83_5BTC, revealed that after transferring 139 BTC to a new cold wallet, the funds were immediately swept to another wallet by the attackers. The transaction split the sum, sending 55.77 BTC to the hackers’ wallet, while the rest, a staggering 83.65 BTC, was paid as a transaction fee. This incident surpasses the previous high-fee record of 19.8 BTC.

Mononaut, the anonymous operator behind the mempool.space bitcoin explorer, weighed in on the incident. He suggested that “the most likely explanation is that the wallet was generated from bad entropy.” In layman’s terms, this means the wallet’s security was compromised due to weak randomization in its creation process. Mononaut’s insight provides a crucial understanding of the technical flaw that may have led to this unfortunate event. source

This is the classic example on how everyone should manage their wallet if they have huge amount on it. Perhaps he should used multi-sig, 2 out of 3 and it increases the security, requiring at least 2 co signers.

Unless, the hackers also got the other keys, which could be very difficult unless it's a physical attack or the 5 dollar wrench attack.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 28, 2023, 09:01:55 AM
A star-studded Los Angeles Clippers defeated by a starless Denver Nuggets! WTF!

I was not able to watch the fourth quarter as I was busy doing something else but the whole 3 quarter was all Clippers and they ended it with an 11-point lead. When I came back, BOOM! they are defeated.
That was a freaking x5.60 if you bet before the start of the game. But who would risk that team without Jokic and Gordon on the field? I don't think that is wise and many sports bettors Clippers would win that game without any resistance.
Reggie Jackson punished them for letting him be open on three-point distance. 3/4 FG 3-point shots 15/19 total FG. I guess he knows how the Clippers work since it is his former team.
That was disgraceful in front of the Clippers fans. I lost my bet but that may be one of the biggest upsets in this season.

104-113.

Forget about the stats; it's just unacceptable that the Clippers lost that game. I mean, no Murray and Jokic, who are their best players, while the Clippers have all four of their superstars, and yet they lose to the undermanned Nuggets. To make it worse, the Clippers were playing at home. Man, there's no hope for this team; the experiment failed. Let's kill that optimism already.

And as what we have been criticizing the Clippers with the James Harden trade, not going to work with 4 superstars and then it looks like they are really trying their best to win games. But they don't play defense though, and this could be their downfall.

There's still a bright light when they won games, but it's against not a tougher opponents. Now they were tested by the Nuggets without their best players, and guess what the result it, they have lost the game. For sure this is going to hurt them more.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 27, 2023, 11:12:14 PM
Garcia still attracts a lot of boxing fans but they need to see a Garcia who can become a multi-title boxing champion, not a social media king, and this will be answered on December 2.

He is a total package, handsome, knows how to use his mouth, and boasted of a lot of followers from his social media account. And if I'm not mistaken, he could be the most followed boxer, or at least top 3 or top 5.

You can remove the 'handsome' part, as I'm quite certain that's not the primary reason why he has numerous fans eager to watch his fights. Besides, most boxing fans are men, and the focus is on a real fighter who can dominate opponents in the ring and deliver an impressive win.

I believe the reason he has a good number of fans is his ability to generate buzz by talking a lot. He easily captures attention and gains traction in the boxing world.

He has the talent definitely and he can back him his talk, not until he faces Tank Davis and he was just over run by Tank. He has a solid career though, even before he become a pro, I think he has some buzz in his name in the amateurs and around the California area.

And when he turn pro, he was compare to Oscar, who is also like him, pretty boy and has the charisma not only to boxing fans, but also non-boxing fans specially the ladies.

But first, if he wants to continue with his fame and the money that it is going for him, he needs to get pass Duarte first in December 2.

One loss shouldn't be the determining factor for him to quit his career. In fact, I commend him for his bravery in facing a boxer who had the potential to defeat him. Unlike other boxers who carefully select opponents to maintain a clean record, Ryan chose to take on a challenging fight against Davis. While he may have garnered some critics, he showcased courage in providing a good fight, even though he lost via KO.

I do agree, and I didn't say anything about a loss that could make him retire, he is still very young, if he is like in his 30's maybe he will retire for good like Hatton when he faces Pacquiao and same with Margarito.

He is young and as I have said, everyone in boxing is being motivated by money and fame, so he will definitely go and continue with his career as he knows he can make a lot of money at his prime years. Just a matter on how he is going to carve his career after that lost to Tank Davis. So if he wins against Duarte at 140 lbs, there are a lot of big names in this divisions that he can fight and get big paycheck after paycheck.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin In Bullish or Bearish Trend? on: November 27, 2023, 08:51:45 AM
Despite a decline in market values, we are still in a bullish condition at the present. I don't see a breakout that will allow it to liquidate and then rise again. To be honest, I haven't seen anything like that happen so far.

But this can happen at any time; I'm saying there is no set time when or when this can happen. As a result, if we look at its chart graph, we can see that its price has barely altered. And I believe that in December, there will be a move that will both surprise and perhaps surprise most people. It is possible.

Recently we have seen a piece of very bearish news about the Binance owner CZ where he stepped down as the CEO and was charged with allegations of money laundering, but this negative news was not seen reflected in the bitcoin price action as the price didn't dump much and today again we see bitcoin over 38,000$.

This clearly shows that whales aren't interested in the bearish side of things and the bitcoin spot ETF and halving hypes are more than enough to keep the positive momentum of bitcoin up and running.

In that regard, you were correct. Now that we are approaching and entering the bull run or halving in Bitcoin, whale investors are not paying much attention to such bearish events since they are paying more attention and planning.

This is also what the majority of communities in the crypto realm are preparing for. If there is anyone who is unaware of this circumstance, it is those who are unaware of what is now happening in the crypto business in which we live, and it is evident that we are in a positive trend.

It's a negative news, but the market was not discourage by it, as we remain strong and we are still above $37k, one of the biggest support that we have. However, we still need to observe what the market or where will it move. Sometimes when we think that it is going in this direction, suddenly the market goes on the opposite side. Meaning that is volatility for us.

However, above $35k this end of the month is not that bad, and it goes and end at $37k then it's already a big bonus. At least no more lowest low or if we look at our lows last year, we are above 100%++ already and then we are looking for the bull run next year.
687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 27, 2023, 07:46:54 AM
Sixers won against the OKC, and Joel just bully himself against the young Chet in the paint in the very first possession of the game and it shows that they are going to capitalized on it and that's what they did. But the kid can't be deny, he is really playing very good basketball and so him and Wemby are going to fight it hard for the ROY award.
Currently I consider Chet Holmgren as the Rookie of the Year. The hype around Wemby is just that hype. Chet is consistently performing well and significantly contributing to the Thunder. When comparing the performance of their respective teams the Thunder with Chet Holmgrem is outperforming Wembenyama's team. The stats speak for themselves; at this moment Chet Holmgren is far different to Wembenyama.

I don't know why they put Chet Holmgren as a rookie this year because he is part of the 2022-2023 draft pick with Paolo Banchero and he won that award last year. Maybe they are giving him a chance because he didn't play last year at all.

Yes, that is the rule mate, he is still eligible for the rookie of the year because he wasn't able to play in the 2022-2023 season because of a season ending injuries he got, a freak accident during exhibitions matches. And so with that, Paolo has no competition last year and it really benefited and he won a landslide vote for the Rookie of the year.

He is now on the 2nd spot of the rookie of the year candidates and I think he might really steal this one from Wemby if he keeps on piling up more stats. Wemby on the other hand might feel the unfair decision if ever Chet wins this one. He is the rookie and Chet is supposed to be a sophomore this year.
Anyway, I guess Wemby just needs to play harder if he wants that award so badly for himself.
Their stats are not that far but Wemby seems to be higher in rebounds. If one could make consistent scoring then he might win this race.
The odds are -190 for Wemby and +150 for Chet.

Yes, initially it was Wemby who is the huge favorite for the Rookie of the year award. However, his numbers is not to be expected from him, we wanted to see more and his teams is struggling. While Chet is relax this season, and playing really good. In the beginning, even OKC fans says that he is overrated. Now they see the true potential of Chet and he is embrace by the OKC fans. But we will have to see how Wemby is going to play the whole season, maybe he just needed good games to put himself in front again for the Rookie of the Year.
688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Subriel Matias vs. S. Ergashev (IBF jr. welterweight title) Nov. 4: Las Vegas on: November 27, 2023, 05:49:22 AM
^^ It could be the reason that he seems to be just standing there and not moving around even if Matias hit him. Nevertheless, we could give credit to Matias here as he was also in trouble early but was able to withstand Ergashev, bounce back and then return the favor.

Yes, leg cramps is one of the most dangerous pain or episode when you are a boxing because your legs is also one of your weapons. You obviously need it to bounce back around, not saying that you should be in the bicycle, but at least a good footwork to avoid the power punches of your opponent.

690  Economy / Gambling / Re: Monk.gg - Crypto's Homegrown PvP Casino on: November 27, 2023, 03:43:03 AM
This KYC process must be completed only once. After this, the user can withdraw freely as long as they are not suspected of violating any of our KYC/AML policies. If we suspect any violation, we can subject the user to go through the KYC process again.

This is one of the things that most players hate on crypto casinos because we really don't have any say on how you determine an individual account's violation on KYC/AML policies. I'd like to know how hard this KYC process would be should you deem an account to be in violation of the said policies. Would it be something that requires intricate personal information like financial capabilities etc. that other casinos or gambling platforms enforce?

I think if they deem that someone is violating their terms as far as KYC process goes then they will have to banned that account simply as that. But if we are legit gamblers and suddenly goes up and that KYC becomes a problem I do hope that their platform will have a speedy process. I think there could just be subtle problems just like when we encounter passing KYC to exchanges. I mean they want clearer pictures and other small details that they can distinguished a fake docs to real one.

In any case, good to hear another PvP casinos in the community.

Or if you want more exposure about it, there are other ways that you can do that in this forum.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 26, 2023, 09:34:25 AM
So true, he is the leader of the team, without him, Grizzlies doesn't have that push to win.

In my mind, a leader is a player who has a sense of responsibility to his teammates and tries to do everything to help his team reach new heights, not a player whose actions cause the team to be at the bottom of the standings. In any case, Morant could be back on the court as early as December 19. I think after that, we'll be able to evaluate how his presence on the court affects the results of the Grizzlies.

For sure there will be some positive results if Morant could comeback very early as to prevent the Grizzlies going into the cellar dweller because the West is now loaded with good teams. OKC is coming and so is Sacramento who had matured already this season.

But still remains to be seen how Morant mentality though, I mean it's very tough for this kids and it seems that he is a magnet for anything bad and controversial.

Hopefully, the chance that the NBA has given him? He shouldn't take advantage of it and he shouldn't think that he is above the league.
692  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects those who DCA on: November 26, 2023, 08:35:53 AM
The current Bitcoin fees wouldn't have mattered to me because I am not selling, but the fees do matter because I DCA, and I don't want to leave my coins in the centralized exchange. This month, I have spent roughly $5 to $10 in transaction fees when I DCA every week. It may seem small, but in my country, it's enough to cover my feeding expenses for a month cumulatively.

I discussed this issue with my friend, and he suggested I use an exchange that utilizes the Lightning Network. According to him, this would help me get off with no fees any day. While I'm considering this alternative, another option is to wait for a month or two, then use the amount we kept for weekly DCA, hold it for a month or two, and lump sum. This way, i would incur just a one time fee. What are your thoughts on this? I feel like I may use the money kept for DCA for other expenses.

I do agree, but this is just short term effect of the high transaction, sooner or later it will go down a bit. And obviously, you have to look at the long term, maybe 1-2 years still or at least when we are in the bull run you will forget that at one time brc20 ordinals clogged the network.

So just continue to accumulate as much as you can and simply ignore or just hold the money that you got and timing the network when it is not congestion.

You need to be just observant and in the end, everyone of us here will make a profit by doing DCA.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Faceless on: November 26, 2023, 06:57:51 AM
It is of interest to know why the founder kept his identity unknown and remain faceless in a face of a culture changing invention.
Is He/She or are They afraid or Ashamed?

We have so many speculations about this, and the answer is that we don't know.

Allow me to argue here, it is humanly impossible to meet all regulations set by the Regulatory Agency and still remain in business. The Law in itself was written to fine and find a firm or establishment guilty and it also depends on whosoever that interprets or administer this law that you may be found or not be found guilty. Those who knows the Law uses it for their advantage no emotion attached.

Regulatory body is just doing their job, so if they think that someone violate their rules, then they will go after them, simply as that. And if they think that exchanges are guilty then so be it. But it won't change a thing, Bitcoin will continue to flourish, with or without Satoshi surfacing.

Again, you overthink too much, Satoshi chooses to remain anonymous, so let's say we leave it like that.

And hopefully, you are enjoying his creation and not that you are here to make speculations and what not. This is not the first time that we have seen someone questioning Satoshi on why he disappear.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best game with a cryptocurrency deposit? on: November 26, 2023, 05:19:58 AM
Maybe I have not played aviator in particular, but according to the description by op, I think this is some sort of another remake of crash game.
Crash game is very popular like I believe most of us will agree, and personally from my own experience, different casino this days have their own specialized version of crash game, so for me, the aviator game op is talking about may just as well be another version of crash game.

Anyways, majorly all casino and slot games this have a demo version that a gambler can play without risking a dime, so for me personally, I don't consider this feature on the aviator game a selling point, since it's some thing that a gambler can do with almost any slot or casino in-house game.

Exactly mate, when I read his description of how the game is being played, it crypto parlance, we call it crash game. And yes, it's very exciting and adrenaline rush to any player because you don't know if it will continue to climb to a high multiplier without you crashing and stopping it to get the win or look for like 1000x returns.

And with that, there's not much that excitement on it, I mean if you are a crypto gambling, at some point in time you will have played this game. Maybe you lean towards it because of it's thrilling design, or if most old gamblers prefer the traditional slot games and sports betting.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 26, 2023, 12:53:37 AM
There exist over one million and one reason why people hate gambling, but few benefits of gambling can make a player to outsmart his colleagues in the office. Or even in an interview. I was able to check how gambling benefits relate to what HR officers look out for in a candidate before hiring them. There are 2 main benefit of gambling that improves the major skills people look out for in an employee in every offices.

1. Critical thinking: there have never been any job opening that doesn't require candidates to have this skill, because every company needs it to grow. And under critical thinking include skills like problem solving, idealist etc.

2. Socialization: Mainly the corporate world will call it interpersonal relationship. It's a very crucial skill anywhere we find ourselves in the world. And gamblers who participate in board games, easily develop the skill. When in the office, they'll always socialize and make friends with co-workers.

Personally, I've experienced these two, in my daily conversation with people. And realized that my responses are now more effective than it used to be in the past, before I began gambling. I'd always think fast and respond accurately what the next person wants to hear. And most times it makes them laugh.  Grin

There are other benefits of gambling, and how it has helped your gambling life. It'll be great if you shared some of it with us. Cheers.

I am not sure of the socialization part. What you say is true. But true for how many. To be able to win in gambling you have to be a critical thinker, yes. Second of all, socialization. How many gamblers have you seen gone outside or to casinos to gamble? I bet there are many but not as many as online gamblers. As you see, nowadays many of the gambling activity are done through online. Online betting platforms, sports bet, casinos etc. How are we able to socialize there? There is no chat option there.

Socialization only happens when you play outside, not online, maybe you know some accounts and their names, but I don't think that is socialization per se, although everyone of us here might have different connotations about socialization, at least for me, it should be physical, like talking to them face to face.

But if it just a chat and nothing else, that should not be considered contact and socialization.

For critical thinking, I think you could consider yourself as street wise or something if you are into gambling. I mean you have the advantage for non gamblers specially if you are in the streets. But we all know that there could be levels of critical thinking as well that gambling can't give to us, in my opinion.

697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 25, 2023, 09:11:08 PM
When I was just starting out in my gambling venture I tried to find a way to make gambling a steady income, but unfortuantely all efforts were futile I started on Martingale but it did not give me positive results.
I just realized that after losing a lot of money, gambling is no way to make money, you can win but it's hard to duplicate your win, there was a time when I had to experience 10 times losing my bankroll before I double my bankroll and I still in negative, I have many losses and few losses.
In my opinion it is very difficult to be able to have a steady income in the gambling that we do, because it really takes luck to be able to win at gambling without luck it is very difficult to be able to win at gambling, for everyone who has realized how much they have lost their money in gambling of course they will it is easier to avoid gambling and they will be able to control themselves in gambling.
Making consistent profits from gambling all depends on the kind of bets we are playing and the level of skills we have to make such a bet a profitable one. There are even people that do not have a strong or reliable strategies and they are still making profits from betting. It all depends on what we can do and concentrating on the aspect we are very good at. If we are good at casino games, then we have to keep betting on it so that we can get aquatinted to it and become a better trader. Gambling can be very tasking and stressed if we don't usually make profits as gamblers.

It's because there's no strategy in gambling that can give you a steady income or profit. Even if you win some days, most of the time statistics are going to catch up with you later and then you are going to see more losses than winning.

And with that, there is no steady income, on the other hand, you will just put your self in a big pressure and stress mentally because every time you wake up, you will have to think that you will make some money today in gambling in order to survived the next 24 hours. And what if you didn't? What will be the consequences of not winning? You can't bring food in the table for your family?
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Country To Live In For Crypto Casinos?# on: November 25, 2023, 08:58:30 PM
Hi all!

Ive noticed recently that more and more crypto sites are requesting KYC, and more and more restricted jurisdictions are being added to said sites Ts and Cs. This is a problem for a lot of people on this forum who like to gamble anonymously, and, perhaps use sites that are "blocked" in their home countries.

My question then is, which are the best countries that can access these sites without issues, and pass all KYC checks? I'd love to hear your opinions!

Online casinos is not about the country per se as with regards to KYC, almost all of the crypto based casinos are requiring KYC because that's what regulatory body mandated them and before a license could be granted to them.

So in any case that you want to gamble, then you have to read first their ToS with regards to KYC or see countries that they totally ban or not allowed to used their platform.

There could be a new set of Web3 crypto based casinos wherein there's no KYC.

700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 23, 2023, 11:23:15 PM
If its my friend seeking for a help then why not? If this is the best way I can help him survive from that addiction and rise again then I will not hesitate to help as long as he is willing to help himself too. But if a gambler is just raising a funds to support his gambling addiction then totally not, its not good and I will never tolerate this kind of behavior. Gambling can be very risky and if you know someone is already suffering and seeking for a help, try to help him even on a smallest way because it can be a big help for him.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a golden heart and is willing to help a recovering gambler. People is always leaning towards believing in all the stigmas which surround all gamblers, specially when comes to money management, potential drug usage and stuff like that.
It is hard to believe, but gambling addiction can easily break a friendship apart until not longer being interested in helping a recurring gambler.
Besides trying to get help from a friend, a recovering gambling should try to get professional help or get in contact with an organization dedicated to helping recovering gamblers to deal with the addiction.
Hopefully, anyone of us will ever be in a place where we need to take care of a friend in that way.

It there is someone that can really help, then it should be professional in this field. And maybe the next question is, where should the gambler get the money to seek help? And maybe why crowdfund could be the solution.

Unfortunately, it's not that everyone doesn't have a golden heart and is willing to help, is that in this kind of situation, it's the gambler that is seeking help. And with that kind of stigma, it's hard for someone or at least convince anyone to help him because of that kind of stigma so you can't blame anyone for having that kind of mindset and not helping the individual. Maybe there will be some, but I doubt that it will be enough.
