We have no link or affiliation with silkroad  . Read OP, read a few pages all you will see our value in no where near silkroad. Other subject : We're currently in the process of writing the white paper of the eco-sytem. And by the way, reading all your messages about the marketplace : current point of view of the dev team is that this is just too risky. Imagine a decentalized maketplace, I would not say it is worse or better than silkroad, but one thing is for sure : it will we targeted and shutdown, look at Coinye and this is only kanye west... It may be reconsidered in the future, but for now we'll release the social network & exchange first and we're currently focused on that. The main point is we found a way to decentralize almost everything and this is major; The registration I told you about earlier is the basis of everything. Data is shared via p2p each node will have to stock a part of that data, with our current estimations of upload,messages,ect../user used space per node will be very small. But security measures have been integrated so that eavesdropping is almost impossible. That is also why, as I said earlier in another post there is a limitation in place which alows you to share profile/trades & co only with people you're "friends" with. And of course you've already guessed everything works with pub/priv keys, public key being associated with a username. The white paper we're writing is exclusively about the "eco-sytem" because with this system as I told earlier, almost anything can be decentralized, once again Satoshi's greastest invention was the blockchain not the currency. Last thing : as you saw earlier we always listen to the community so just imagine in what we could evolve with this system.. More infos soon.... We'll release an update of the wallet very soon to fix the few glitches present in the wallet we had to rush this release because of the hard fork. Tomorrow we'll be 1 month old  . |

Thanks for this great review, by the way I think this is the most accurate quote ever written about the eco-system : "a new feature called the “eco-system”, a web interface that connects to the blockchain network, allowing users to interact in a censor-free world." Can you send me your address or put it in your sig so I can also send a bounty? Usernames will be unique and registered into the blockchain which means there will be no authority handling registration, it will be just like transactions : irreversible. Then, the blockchain will link your username to your pubkey, link which will be shown to the public -> this how people will be able to get in touch with you through the network (ps : you will be able to sell or give your username to anyone). Btw you will also be able to send transactions directly to usernames, this is major for adoption : no more hashes everywhere. The registration part is almost fully functionnal, we may include it into the blockchain prior to the launch of the eco-system so people may reserve their names and like that we'll limit the registration spike that will occur at eco-system launch. Oh and please don't put too much statements about when we release it, it is VERY hard to put a timeframe on this kind of dev that's why we didn't want to unveil it at first. We expect it to be ready in a bit more than a month (maybe 2) but nothing is sure and we still have a lot of coding and testing to do and this is brand NEW and untested so we have to test every single aspect before releasing it. But don't worry we'll post more and more infos, and one day you'll know so much about this system you'll know it's ready for release . We're fixing the few glitches/issues right now but we had to release this version as soon as possible because of the hard fork and the POW phase coming.
We need everyone on the new version before the POW, that's why this version needed to be released ASAP.

There was a lot of arguments for and against the last phase so to please everyone since both sides had very valid points we decided to keep the last phase BUT reduce the block reward to 2500. So there will be 2x less coins generated in the last phase. Total expected coins at the end of last phase : ~45 millionEVERYONE MUST UPDATE BEFORE POW, else you may send transactions on the wrong chain and lose your coins.

Was the problem with Bittrex api or something?
Yea the dev in charge of this part (he already got yelled at hehe) didn't take in account the api may change for the order history (lazy dev, because he took that in account for buy/sell orders..) and since it changed this morning giving 50 max transaction history instead of 100 the array do not have 100 items anymore but 50. Very easy fix : change the 100 to lenght() and it's already fixed on the github. By the way, no communications from the dev? Took us 10 minutes to fix this error from the moment you reported it . That...is why I love being involved with SC. You guys rock and I am so looking forward to your continued efforts. Thanks, we're really feeling bad about this, it was a stupid mistake in the code.. Even if of course there's no implications else than no being able to open the last version wallet. We'll try to get the compile ready asap because even if it's minor we can't wait for the new version on thursday to fix this. Also to answer the question above, that was the main thing we wanted to achieve : stay on POS and be able to support this network. You'll get more details about all this very soon but the addition of p2p makes it possible since most data don't have to be stored on the blockchain. Edit : last thing, don't mistake yourself I've seen this assumption many times in this post we're not building a network like TOR but more like a social network where you can only see what your friends posts/do it's completly different and it's why it will work |

Can you describe a bit more ? What OS? What error do you get? Most common problems : - If your wallet was not closed properly you'll need to reboot or delete the folder present in C:\ProgramData\boost_interprocess - If the downloaded blockchain got corrupted (happens very very rarely) delete the content of "appdata/roaming/silkcoin" keeping your wallet.dat you'll have to download the whole blockchain again. |

No, we are getting communications from the dev and also Wulfcastle (who's part of the team). I am seeing communications from them at least every few days. The devs and me are very busy working day & night on the next release, that's why I wasn't as present as always the last few days. ( and even a quick look at my profile you'll see 120 posts in this thread and at least one per day since launch) POW is coming, we need to be ready! But I am at all time in communication with the team members. So Wulfcastle, Quantum & Judge can answer most of the questions you have and from what I see they are very present. This have not been updated for a long time ! As for Zerocoin integration, we stated earlier in this thread that we stopped the dev work on zerocoin because of the masterkey problem, and because we discovered it could not be compatible with the eco-system. We were also working on an another system of our own based on Darksend, but for now on it's on hold until we see how everything goes there's a lot going on right now in anon domain and we'll integrate the fittest option when time comes. And we won't integrate untested blockchain features in a rush just to get a pump, remember we're long term. So we're not really in the anon feature race it's not the n°1 priority at the moment, but be sure it will be integrated in time. On other news, we're all very busy with the next update, expect a release on Thursday, maximum Friday! When I'll have a little bit more time I'll try to update this part of the website with more accurate data on current devs, as you may see the social network is not even in the list. |

What the devil would make my SC interest payment go into a status of "conflicted, Generated but not accepted, mined?" The details being "Generated coins must mature 510 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours."
Why would interest be subject to loss by mining standards?
I'll change this message for next release so it's more clear and 510 is not right it's 360, it's like in POW blocks you may find conflicted blocks if someone validates the same block as you at the same time only one is accepted. Here in POS if it's not accepted your coins will be returned as usual 360 blocks later you won't get interest, and your coin age will not be consumed so you can stake again right away. |

This is bs everyone is trying to sell before the next POW phase. Please reduce the next POW phase to 10 million coins. 2x pump in the money supply is too much, this is going to cause to much volatility. Last week we were at 800 sats .. the price spiked overnight to 3500 briefly, then dropped back down to 1500 over the 2 days after.... it has now been steadily climbing and is approaching 2k each again? biggest swing has been 500 sats as people sell high and buy low trying to increase their coins.. you keep posting that everyone is dumping and it is simply not true ... We might get a big dump on POW phase .. yes this i give you just my thoughts Q There is one thing that all SC holders could do against the feared dumping. Remember that the last stage is mixed POW/POS. And a POS block is a 'lost' POW block. So people: Get the coins into your wallet, let them mature and start staking when the POW phase starts! This should reduce POW blocks significantly. Half of the blocks will be POS regardless of how much people are staking (same thing about POW, even if there's only one miner we'll still get ~1440 block per day). So ~30 million coins will be generated instead of 50 million. About the hard-fork, we are currently discussing this matter with the whole team, inside and outside. Our first decision was to let everything stay as it is but we're now considering a fork to reduce the reward of the last POW phase. In any case the phase will happen, the question is how much the block will reward . Final decision will be taken very soon since the POW phase is coming fast. |

Sincere question.
Why should I buy now and not after the second PoW stage to avoid to get burned on a dump?
To avoid the risk paying 10 times more for each SilkCoin? I do not know what the effect of these phases will be, but I feel it may lead to a better distribution and, thus, less dumping. Both sides are valid, we can't really know what the price will be during that phase. It was 500 sats a few days ago which is incredibly low for 30 million supply I don't think we'll reach that again. Why? Because we're just starting with marketing and look at the effect on the price, also we'll keep on releasing weekly updates so I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of buy support during the last phase, and so the price will not fall as low as it was. But once again we never know what will happen, you may pay more, you may pay less but my bet is on more . As for the lock it's sorted and yes it was about giveaways, so please once again giveaways happen outside of this forum. @ShiThing many giveaways going on, but the best way to win silkcoins is to write a blog post if your blog is not fresh new you'll get 1000SC bounty |
