681  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Diversification is the only solution now on: March 01, 2024, 10:29:37 PM
Thier is no need to write any long episode about this yearly occurrence happening in this country cause if it's not this problem another will find it way to us and in one way or the other, our financial life is always threatened.

Naira scarcity came and business people suffered and most of them went bankrupt. end sars, covid, and the whole luckdown saga rendered somany people in the transportation sector clueless because most of them where depending on that single area of income.

For those that have invested for long, the market is already bullish and some might have reached thier profit point and would have collected or thought of selling Thier holding maybe to reinvest it during the bearish period but I just want to say that considering the current reality, it's best we invest partly into an online asset and partly into a physical asset or business so in the event that we can't continue with our physical business on a temporary bases, we just face the online one and if the only one is facing de minor challenge as this, we face the physical business so we don't allow minor issues as this to always give us serious heart attach.

Before you even start to hold any cryptocurrency it's advised that you have a source of income either from your work or business, so you don't get stranded in your accumulation journey. So having a source of income is the first and most important thing because without that there is no holding, those into business are already in track while those into monthly or weekly work should also get themselves a small business in addition, no amount is sufficient enough to be satisfied with without searching for more.
If you start to hold Bitcoin as investment means without getting a tangible job is called an Hippocratic act because me and you know say saving money continue no dey easy and na only person wey don understand him self na fit run this matter because if you no get job wey dey sustain you then you go surely go back to touching your coins because e no dey easy and na why e dey always advice to actually get a good source of job because jumping to accumulate Bitcoin.
682  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoiners don't spend all your profits. on: March 01, 2024, 10:23:10 PM
Instead of selling all with the mindset to save using fiat I no really support that idea cause the way things be now you fit keep money to take do something but you might end up doing something else with the money so instead of holding the money in the bank why not sell some percent and save the rest in your wallet as na the same bitcoin you go still buy, secondly wanting more is not a bad idea so you can buy something valuable like land with the money or you research for something better to buy so when the time reach for the bear market you can sell to accumulate and definitely profit go come out instead of saving with fiat that has zero value

That one no be bad idea oo, because so many go find am hard for this bull market season as dem go dey confuse on the time to sell and aslo how to sell and by "how" I mean exactly watin the OP dey talk about. E go better say people actually look into this plan of yours because land na asset wey get add value overtime and I fit even talk say him own value increase dey faster than Bitcoin own that's if you calculate and reason am well. E no go bad to sell some of your coins or even all sef for the price wey you wan plan to sell then use the money buy land so that when the bear market comes you fit buy back in low amount so that your Bitcoin value go increase like watin that famous thread wey dey for speculation dey preach @ ""BUY THE DIP AND HODL""
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 01, 2024, 10:11:48 PM
I believe we will have a very promising future. With artificial intelligence to help and even VR for greater immersion. The trend is for betting to become more fun and interactive. I believe this will attract more people. In the end, the goal is to have fun.
Metaverse technology will control the whole internet world in the future as it will give us a virtual reality feel which will attract the future generations of people.  So the gambling platform will not be left behind in this regard.  When one gambles using VR he will experience real life gambling.  With enough gambling now, the future may see a lot more.  And even if it is possible to control oneself from gambling nowadays, I wonder how much that would be possible in that metaverse world.

I think it will be practically impossible, so I believe by that time every gambler would just have to stick with the mentality that gambling is only for fun and nothing more because with all the advancement that would be present during that period, it will definitely be very easy for one to be addicted and get stuck to gambling so it's better to avoid or control your taught of gambling for money purpose because it will land you in very a tight place .
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who was Satoshi Nakamoto? on: March 01, 2024, 10:05:50 PM
But why are we always trying to find out Satoshi's real identity when he decided to remain anonymous forever? Haven't we always said that we respect him, we respect his decisions and that he has chosen to remain anonymous forever but we are always hunting him? Do we really respect him? Furthermore, if we find out his true identity and if that puts him in danger (if he is still alive). So what do we do next? Personally, I hope none of us know who he is, that's what he wants and I'll respect that.
I totally agree with you. Maybe at first when you learn a few things about bitcoin you wish you could knew who Satoshi is/are but then if you actually understand all the ideas behind bitcoin and how it can really change the way we manage money, you should simply respect his/their decision to be anonymous and left alone. I know some people love trying to solve these types of mysteries, I hope they'll never succeed.
That's the nature of man and it's practically what everyone would be thinking, @curiosity. Believe me no one is eve content with the story that a genius is hiding himself but the truth is that we all should try and just let it be as this idea is probably for the best interest of the survival of this forum and also Bitcoin at large because I know for sure that if Satoshi was to be known by the government officials am very sure that the survival and control of Bitcoin will be something that is going to be hanging by a thread.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 01, 2024, 09:54:45 PM
If we see the history of Bitcoin, then it's pretty easy to see how Bitcoin recovered its price. It would take time to recover, but eventually it did. So at the end of the day, holders don't need to be regretful. I am talking about Bitcoin, not about any other altcoin. Because even though the Bitcoin price has recovered, many altcoins haven't recovered yet. Even those who bought Bitcoin at the top in the last bull run, I believe they are almost recovered. If they are still holding, they will be in profit within a couple of months. Bitcoin has given us a costly lesson that holders won't regret. We should take that lesson and keep it in mind for the future.
Yeah that's true and this is what what actually clears it from the others because Bitcoin unlike the others always have the reputation to get back to the actual price it once was and even beating that price to set a new one everytime and this is why HODLERS for sure will never regret their actions of chosing to keep Bitcoin despite all the twist and turns it might have involved itself.

The bull season is here and many HODLers will definitely be smiling that's if you are holding Bitcoin in particular because like you said not all the coins recover so greatly like Bitcoin.
686  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: February 29, 2024, 11:48:04 PM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?

You are supposed to know your responsibility as a parents and if you fail to access this and go stupid with your gambling habit then obviously the repercussions are only yours to bear because any mistake made will greatly affect you as a father so it's better to limit your expenses when it's comes to gambling and if possible have some spare cash that won't be of any effect to you even if you find yourself losing the game .
687  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The government can't fight the present situation alone on: February 29, 2024, 09:36:36 PM
The only way for the government to fight this economy problem now is to band any exported goods, since they have ban imported goods, give fertilizer to farmers and fight insecurity in the country, creation of modular refinary, and grant authorizations to them.
That would take a million years for the government of Nigeria to actualize because they tend not to focus their actions on these issues but instead to channel their efforts on places that aren't worth or the cause of this economic problem that Nigeria is facing. Firstly the excessive printing of the naira should be regulated because that also causes the depreciation of the value of the naira in the exchange market and like you said closing its borders and building up internal will help boost the economic strength to a large extent but the people in power will never resort to this because they are not going to benefit from it too.
688  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: A better leadership,a better Nigeria. on: February 29, 2024, 09:29:53 PM
My people with the whole economic struggles going on. I really think if we can have better leadership. Nigeria would get to the next level.our basic desire as Nigerian is good leadership. If the people at the top. Could take up their responsibilities and do what they campaign on their manifestos, it would go along way in reducing this current struggles Nigerian are going through. Our country is blessed, we just need a better and a selfless leadership. One that would stand for the masses and build a stable structure by investing on human capitalism. Rather than enriching themselves.
The problem of this country is that the issues have long piled for a really long time and it's just starting to surface now and that's why the leaders are finding it difficult to find a way to actually resolved it. Nigeria no doubt is blessed but when you have greed and selfishness at the center of everything, you don't expect where there is greed in the heart of men to be successful and that's the one big problem this country faces.
689  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: February 29, 2024, 09:06:05 PM
For some reason I am not able to access the site from past few weeks and I wondered why and finally today I used a VPN to access the site.
Voila, I was able to access the site and it was then when I found out that bc.game has blocked my country.
I wonder why they did that because I am able to access other gambling sites but not bc.game. The country is India.

Restricted Indians? That’s strange, I went through the list of restricted countries and India was not a part of it.

I’ll suggest you try out different mirror links[1], and also try using a different device (you can ask for that of your relatives) to access the site, clear your browser cache or use a different browser that’s safe and see if there will be any difference. From what I know Indians are allowed to use bcgame without any restrictions.

[1] https://bcgame.com for the mirror links.
Yeah I suppose its fair to say it's strange because India isn't in the list of restricted countries and besides India is one of the big market when it comes to crypto gambling so I definitely think  and suggest the use of other mirrors to access  the website. Sometimes I get same complain from my friend I introduced to using bc.game and always it's the mirror link I refer for him to try out because am not a fan of using VPN to access any gambling sites.
690  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: COULD THIS BE CALLED ADAPTATION? on: February 29, 2024, 08:50:54 PM
Is very funny how we complain about so many things going wrong in our economy but at end everyone we tend to grow a thicker skin and adapt to the system and it will be seen like nothing happened within a Short time, now my question is, should we keep adapting and growing a thicker skin? or we should be expecting war, because i don't really understand where our government is taking us to, alot is really happening. What is your opinion on this?
Well let me ask you this question, what do you think they can as humans and also citizens of a country that fails to solve their problems? Nigeria is a place that everyone needs to just adapt to the way things are and besides adaptation to changes is one of the qualities of humans so am definitely not surprised to see people living or growing a thick skin towards the situation of the country besides you are left with no option in the first place.
691  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government demanding from Binance the lists of its Nigerian users on: February 29, 2024, 08:46:43 PM
This one na serious matter oh. Nigeria financial institutions are confused of where the problem is coming from so them dey accuse everyone wey they do well in the as their problem. Last three weeks federal government order the Nigerian Army to arrest black market dollar exchanging Aboki people. And chase out the remaining ones. And that made Peter Obi to come to the media to abuse the FG. And the harassment of those people will not provide any solution to the inflation in the country.

The government is saying that it is because Binance is not regulated by the government so anyone can just wake up and increase their prices of buying and selling of cryptocurrency and that made the dollar to rise so they are investigating the matter now.
What a country like Nigeria, I believe there are many more stories yet to unfold, this past few days I have heard alot and more are still yet to unfold. They have made their move for the betterment, right? Now we are left with no any choice than to just sit and observe if things will begin to change positively. Since the beginning of this matter, I know the government is heading somewhere, they just beating round the bush with time we will see their true intentions.
The truth is that, I think the burden of being the first administration ever to have risen the naira to almost 2k per dollar is really messing with this new administration and that's why they have decided to come out ranting and let the public know that they are actually working and finding solutions to the actual problems but the bitter truth is they don't actually have a clue to how these issue keeping coming and also on how to rectify them also.
692  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your expectations for the few weeks after the halving period? on: February 29, 2024, 08:36:12 PM
Expecting to drop more after halving , maybe there are some others that do believe about bitcoin
crossing new All Time High here but for me it is not coming in 2024 instead like what those I trusted in prediction
is that Bitcoin will record new ATH . hoping that this time it will go towards my expectation not like what I have
done in the last halving that I do wrong.
Well I know so many people will be surprised to see how the price has has gone so high in just these few days because I know I am suprised at that and I believe it will also spoil so many persons prediction of how the market might flow because Bitcoin is so closed to breaching it's all time high in just a matter of days and I do expect that their should be a decline in the price anytime soon if not so many persons will be shocked at how Bitcoin didn't actually wait till after the halving to break it's previous ATH.
693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is seriously wrong with bitcoin markets. No liquidity? Should we sell? on: February 28, 2024, 08:39:54 PM

What do you think, is there a liquidity crunch and it makes sense to sell now because sellers will come in soon to take advantage of these high prices? Or does it make sense to just hold at this point?

Hold.. Hold... $100k is certain in this bull market that has already started. The market might still pull back a little after all this pumping, or it might not. So, it's better you just hold and set a target price to sell in factions. Since you bought at $21k, you already have a huge profit now, but don't rush to sell off so you don't regret it by the time you see the price going above $70k.

Well I don't know if anyone isn't suprised at the current surge of price because the price movement is looking so crazy and because am for one suprised at the speed of the bull and with what am seeing I think it's only advisable to hold that coins till it breaches the former ATH before I can think of selling anything that's related to coins although now will also be a perfect time to find atleast some altcoin that can give rapid profit and flip in some cash because the price movement is just crazy and I know some good altcoin also take advantage of the movements.
694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does a cryptocurrency gain value? on: February 28, 2024, 08:31:06 PM
What's cryptocurrency?
It's a decentralized encrypted exchange unit.
Most cryptocurrencies are not decentralized and certainly not encrypted (Bitcoin isn't encrypted either).

Demand and supply is a primary factor, there are so many other secondary factors that affects it leading to a change in price, understanding of these allows you make a calculated guess, how exactly the market will react in different scenarios cannot be predicted.

- Jay -
That's true and that's why its almost being impossible to actually get the actual price and movement of Bitcoin in the market although people can still relate to Bitcoin base on its past movement and that's why crypto enthusiast always speculate the seasons accordingly that comes with Bitcoin like the bull and bear season. But even with that the Bitcoin or cryptocurrency market in general is really hard to predict and so many factors involved in terms of the change of the market but some are being actually influence by some persons especially the altcoin and new project.
695  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: $26bn passed through Binance from... on: February 28, 2024, 08:26:15 PM
$26bn passed through Binance from people that CBN cannot adequately identified says CBN governor.

The CBN governor, Cardoso disclosed this on Tuesday after the 293rd meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee in Abuja.

This is the video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/kmjUwP8-Xzc?si=Tfq0AwLOt0O9rZjb

If you do not have time, start watching from 19:50.

He also talked about more regulations are coming with zero tolerance. That was before 19:50.
CBN and the governor sef no actually no watin dem wan blame for their stupid naira and economic decline, me I just believe say all these problems wey the naira dey face na something wey been don dey cook since for fire and e just bad say na now the whole thing come don because Nigeria has already being the one printing excess naira money that has so much caused the naira to lose its value but the issue wasn't address then and now that the country has been eaten up so badly they are now pointing fingers and blame to the wrong reasons.
696  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Roqqu disabled all trading/swapping of USDT with the Naira with immediate effect on: February 28, 2024, 08:19:37 PM
E no matter weda Dem no dey well know oo, our people say small fire fit burn down full forest. As them start na there the problem sef fit take start.
Na the same thing now e don go happen for Binance too. And that means the Op was right. And the way I see this matter eh. This exchanges dey walka hand in hand because as one stopped di naira peer to peer, other follow up though it is the government policy they all following. And now to sell bitcoin will be a big problem in the country because all the Centralized Exchanges will be disabling naira p2p so people will thinking alternative means to market their assets.
My brother no be small thing oo like this I even dey confuse because the matter don tire me because I be wan sell small coins for my account but I come find out say Omo no way to actually trade because the P2P option dey show blank and like you talk if this thing continue like this then to actually trade your coins go be big problem but although these na just the starting phase and other exchanges still dey allow but if binance exchange wey get big reputation sef don block am then I believe other Xchange go follow as well.
697  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: February 28, 2024, 08:12:57 PM
Forget it and never look at the market, it will be one way for the main goal to go according to plan. You have passed the first phase of facing temptation when you find out that the price of Bitcoin has started to increase, your decision to hold assets in your wallet must always be consistent. Never feel afraid that the price of Bitcoin will return to its basic capital, your journey is still long, Let your money continue to be in Bitcoin until the price breaks ATH.
With the current rate of the price of Bitcoin now I know for sure that many will be happy and many will be upset that the price has already gotten so close to the ATH and I say this because so many investors failed to access the will power to actually hold that coin when the market price cap was fluctuating and thats the major downfall of people into Bitcoin investment and believe it's not easy but once you gather up courage and strength you will see that its actually worth it all at the end and like you said the journey is indeed young.
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 28, 2024, 08:07:46 PM
Gambling can be fun and also become a serious problem if not done appropriately. Alot of gambler get themselves into problem because they gamble anyhow and anytime. There are some times you should take a break in gambling so that you won't become an addict or give yourself problem. Time you shouldn't gamble includes:

snip

CONCLUSION
Gambling should be fun, it's better to stay away when it has started to become a problem.
Some other moments in which you should not gamble include to not gamble when you had a few drinks, since it is more likely that you will take some bad decisions which you may later regret, another one is that people should not gamble to just pass the time, for example if you are in a waiting line you should not gamble, because if you do then each time you encounter one of those boring moment in which there is not much to do you will want to gamble, gambling is an activity that should be done with intent, basically if you want to gamble, you need to specifically make some time on your schedule for it and gamble to your heart's content.
It's correct, you shouldn't gamble when you are drunk because you will lose everything, gamblers get themselves into trouble when they gamble all their money, it shouldn't be so because ones you can't control yourself from gamble you are gradually becoming addicted. There are topics of different kinds talk about how to reduce addictions, or how to gamble safe and not to become addicted to gamble. Every gamblers should know it's not good to gamble when drunken, when feeling sleepy, when sad, when frustrated. OP mentioned few already.
Why would anyone even think of gambling when they are drunk, I mean whats and where is the sense in that , besides to be drunk in the first is not even something that anyone should think of now talkless when you are gambling untop of that drunkenness that means you will lose everything and also still don't even know when you are losing even your house or something valuable to you because at that time your thinking will be strictly stuck to nothing.
699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet suggestions? on: February 28, 2024, 08:02:34 PM
When it comes to wallet selection, you can only be specific due to the kind of device you are using because most person refer to be on mobile and when it comes to mobile version of wallet, I think the blue wallet or electrum mobile version is probably best and whatever wallet you use, keeping the seed phrase and the private key safe is the most important thing because this is Bitcoin and if you lose your keys so is your money lost forever, that means no password reset or forgotten password.
