681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving countdown on: April 13, 2024, 01:47:50 PM
I'm really excited about counting down to halving, because it'll be my first time experience, and I've been hearing a lot of pro and post halving price predictions, it's really fascinating. From my research I understand that after supply is cut in half, which will create scarcity, demand will become greater than supply, and eventually that is when the real bull run will start. I believe that because of the Bitcoin ETF which made it possible to see a new ATH before halving, that we're going to experience a massive bull run in this season, and every investor will likewise reap massive ROI.
682  Economy / Economics / Re: Better Money: Gold, Fiat, Or Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2024, 12:49:48 PM
I don't think that there should be a better money among fiat, gold and Bitcoin, because they're all functioning independently and giving value to their holders in different ways, although each of them can be used as an alternative or as an exchange to the other. Bitcoin can not function efficiently as fiat because it's core usage is as investment, while fiat can not be stored as an investment because it's affected by inflation, while we can't carry physical gold around to make payments with it, because it's also a store of value like Bitcoin. However among the three Bitcoin, has more advantage because we can use it to pay for commodities and also hodl it as an investment.
683  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona Supreme Court rules state can use 1864 law to ban nearly ALL abortions on: April 13, 2024, 11:31:10 AM
I personally don't support abortion because I see it as terminating the life of an innocent being, because it's the right of every unborn child to be born, so couples should be responsible for their actions, if they must have unprotected sex then let them face the consequences.

Where I'll make exceptions and support abortion is in the case of rape, incest or to save the life of a mother if abortion is an option, other than these reasons, abortion remains an immoral act, as far as I'm concerned. People in the US are politicizing this matter in Arizona, probably because of the coming election, but the fact is that abortion is wrong, except for the reasons that are mentioned above, Arizona state should understand this..

a question for you:
what is your opinion on decisions of elderly/disabled relatives on medical life support with no consciousness?
should families never have the choice in removing the life support?
A family member that is in life support or has a medical condition where they're suffering excruciating pains between life and death, I think that the family members should be strong and see the patient through their last moment, I can only imagine the pains that the family members will be in, but they can sincerely wish the person to die and have peace, than taking an innocent life. Frankly talk is cheap and I don't know if I can sincerely watch my loved one to continue to suffer when it has been proven that there's 99.9% chances of not surviving, I don't wish to be in such a situation to make that kind of decision.

Although considering to end the life of a person that is in a critical life and death situation is different from ending a life that is developing in their mother's womb, and there's no complications to warrant ending it or in simple term "aborting it" to save the mother's life, the motives are different, one is to end suffering and the other is to be free of responsibilities. If a woman will have a consensual sex with her partner without protection, then it's only fair that they should accept the responsibilities of their choice.
684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 13, 2024, 09:17:08 AM
Scams aside, and yes trading can be 'learned' and all that, but to put it simply — trading is not for everyone, just like how dentistry, being a doctor, engineering, etc, is not for everyone. It will simply be for whoever is genuinely interested in it to actually continue learning it for long periods of time.
One man's food is another man's poison, meaning that our likes, passions and what makes us happy are different as individuals, therefore crypto trading is not for everyone. Some might think that it's for them, maybe due to it's hype on social media and they'll think that it's easy, sit in their houses and be making easy money everyday, then they rush and enter, the opposite begins to happen, they lose all their money because of lack of experience. They learn the hard way that trading requires diligently learning the skills to minimize loses, in the end it'll be only those that trading is for them that'll remain, the others will move on to investment that requires lesser skills, or even leave the crypto space entirely.

686  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When you make mistakes, do not fail to take corrections. on: April 13, 2024, 07:20:33 AM
When you see a finished product, you wouldn't know that there had been trials and errors before perfection is attained, so I believe that our ranked up and experienced members were once newbies who didn't have knowledge about Bitcoin, but today they can teach and impact their knowledge to newbies that are willing to learn. My advice to newbies is that they should learn to accept criticism, from experienced members, take the ones that they think will be beneficial to them, then ignore the rest, no need to start an argument, just move on. This forum has been a tremendous blessings to me because I've greatly increased my crypto knowledge, political, social and economic, all these I've gained for free, plus I'm being rewarded in signature campaign.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana might be next leading, after Ether & bnb. on: April 13, 2024, 05:59:41 AM
Man, what do you mean by "might be next leading" and "going to lead"? Solana has been leading for a good while now! Also, take note that SOL is up like what? 500% in a single year? I know there's still room to grow but why are we talking about the Solana ecosystem as if it's underperforming lol.
I can't agree less, Solana, is the most talked about altcoin now in the crypto space, and it's not surprising why this is so, their innovative dev. team are adding a lot of promising projects in their network which is making them to be more popular, and I'm hopeful that Solana, will reach an enviable ATH in this bull run.  Solana, was written off, but it bounced back and is now everybody's favorite, goes to show that failure is a bastard but success is everybody's buddy. I wouldn't write off Ethereum and BNB, these two are still top altcoins anyday.
688  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: April 12, 2024, 05:39:08 PM
Predictions on the price to sale in this bull run keeps changing, in the last quarter of last year leading to the Bitcoin ETF, it was to sale at $100k, but after the ETF happened and a new ATH was seen before halving, the optimism hit the roof and I'm hearing between $150k to $200k. I think that we might see $100k or slightly above this year, and it'll still be early, so if I want to sale I'll do so when I see price reach $150k and above, I'm quite positive that it can happen within 2025. So I'll just keep the faith and keep hodling till it reaches the estimated target before selling.
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your strategy to win in this bull run? on: April 12, 2024, 03:45:34 PM
If you want to secure your assets for 2025 I think keeping them in BTC is the best choice because after the ETF approval I think BTC will enter a new phase and the price will continue to rise after the halving. For Altcoins I think currently most of them are performing well. Some new altcoins have huge potential to generate returns. But of course new projects have risks because we don't know their reputation yet. I don't know about the derivatives market because I haven't tried it but I think it is a good option to maximize your profits. By the way where do you trade derivatives? I still don't have an account to trade derivatives.
Bitcoin is definitely the best strategy to maximize profit in this bull run, after the ETF approval it has further proven that it's the surest crypto to put money in without any fear of sinking your funds, and the strategy to achieve this is to continue my DCA method, probably to take a pause only when price exceeds $150k, in the bull run, which is very feasible. As for altcoins, I'm banking on Solana, to fly to the moon and reach an enviable ATH in this bull run, but despite our predictions it's only the market that'll determine actual price at anytime,
690  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: When last did you drank to stupol on: April 12, 2024, 01:04:58 PM

691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: April 12, 2024, 11:54:44 AM
For me, it is enough for Bitcoin to be legally accepted as a payment method. It doesn't have to be a legal tender to perform its function. If countries recognize Bitcoin as a currency, that would already be enough.

For Bitcoin to become a legal tender is a long shot, and could even just be considered as an extra mile. Bitcoin doesn't have to be a legal tender for businesses and customers to accept it as payment. I think it is enough catalyst for Bitcoin's adoption rate for a government to declare it as an acceptable currency.
I also think that Bitcoin don't have to be a legal tender of any country to achieve it's global currency aim, if it's accepted in any country as a payment option and it's business people will adopt it and accept it as a means of payment, then it'll still mentain it's function as a legally accepted payment method. I don't think that most governments will accept Bitcoin as a legal tender because they can't control it as a result of it being decentralized, the least they can do is regulate it. Bitcoin don't have to takeover fiat currencies, it can function perfectly well as an alternative digital currency, besides people are adopting it more as as an investment asset, because it's a store of value.
692  Economy / Economics / Re: considering the advantage of Fiats over Cryptocurrencies on: April 12, 2024, 10:49:09 AM
The advantage of fiat currencies over cryptocurrency is adoption, fiat have existed for centuries while cryptocurrency is just less than two decades old, a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, if it's adoption increases to the extent that more countries will adopt it, then it's use cases will increase, and fiat might not have any advantages over it. As it is now, the advantage of Bitcoin over fiat currencies is that besides using it as a means of payments, it's a store of value whereby people can invest in it as an asset and it's price will keep increasing on the long run.
693  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is forex trading a hobby or a skill on: April 12, 2024, 09:44:33 AM
If forex trading is similar to crypto trading then it requires training and gaining special skills to master it,  and if forex is risky and hard like crypto trading, then even if you have aquire the skills, it can still be traded as a hubby. Crypto trading is risky and it's advisable to have a steady job, from where you're earning a steady income to take money and trade cryptos, and if this applies with forex trading, then both can be traded as a hubby, because it'll mean that there's no guarantee of making steady profits from them.
694  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Freedom from wars and slavery on: April 12, 2024, 08:44:51 AM
The white men took black men as slaves and after that the white men still colonized the black men, then the black men get their freedom and independence, now it's mental slavery that is the problem of the black men, because they're not able to manage their resources well and improve their economies, now they still depends on the white men for aid to develop themselves. We have great minds in Africa, that turn the continent around to complete with the Europe and america, but the cabals and mafias that controls the leadership's in these backward countries, will not let the right people into leadership positions, instead we keep having recycled mediocres as leaders and become worse off, while the rest of the world is moving forward.

Sometimes I wonder if it's the white men that are the real cabals and mafias that works underground to make sure that Africans never gets credible leaders, so that we'll forever remain the under dogs, because they're probably afraid that if Africans have good leadership, that they have the potentials to eventually complete with them. The problem with underdeveloped countries is bad leadership, and the powerful unseen kingmakers wants it to remain so.
695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I invest to BTC? on: April 12, 2024, 07:25:40 AM
We are really glad to see such a thoughtful question from you. You will be happy to know that this thread will teach you several ways to invest in Bitcoin. If you are a small investor, then DCA will be a good investment method for you.A simple calculation of DAC is:
You will invest 1/3 of your income over a period of time.  And hold bictoin for a long period of time. If you hold in this way you will become a big investor after a while. For more details about this see below thread :

Buy the DIP, and HODL!

This is a good advice for any newbie investor, after getting a reliable source to buy your Bitcoin, either through p2p with a second party or through exchanges that stands as a third party, make sure that you're hodling your Bitcoin, in a none custodial wallet, that only you have the private keys, never leave your coins in an exchange. The best method to accumulate Bitcoin, is through DCA, that way you don't need much experience to start, just choose an amount from your income and periodically use it to buy Bitcoin and hodl, maybe weekly or monthly. It's a store of value and no matter how long you hodl it, it's price will keep increasing on the long term.
696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasoning before investing can save you from lose on: April 12, 2024, 06:25:54 AM
It’s always a good idea to do as much research as possible before deciding if you should invest in a token or coin. Unfortunately sometimes, all the research in the world can’t stop you from being rugged. Obviously it’s good practise to only invest what you would he comfortable losing, if the worst happens & a project fails. Never keep all your eggs in one basket. Diversify, spread your risk amongst various coins.
It's important to carry out research on projects that you're not familiar with before investing in them, to minimize the risks of buying scam projects, this should be the standard, except it's Bitcoin that is the most reputable and top altcoins that have also gained reputation. Despite the amount of research, investors still gets gets rugpulled in the end, so you'll wonder what the essence of the whole research is about, that is why when it comes to projects that have not gained enough reputations like Bitcoin and Ethereum, it's safer to invest the amount that you can afford to loose
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking the Myth of Bitcoin's Use Case on: April 11, 2024, 04:56:53 PM
A short educational video explains the difference between 'trading an item' and 'using an item' to show that there's no such thing as a 'Bitcoin use case': https://youtu.be/uNzs9JAKjMY
In this context that you're explaining it will mean that trading an item or using the same item as an exchange for something means the same thing, because whatever fiat currency can be used to purchase, Bitcoin can also be used to purchase, so it depends if they're accepting a perticular fiat currency or Bitcoin at the point of payment. So inasmuch as fiat currency has use cases, Bitcoin also has use cases, because they're both used for payments, only difference is that fiat currencies are centralized, meaning that they're owned by governments, while Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that is not controlled by any governments. So your definition of Bitcoin, not having any use case and useless is very wrong, please get your fact right.

699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Solana is 20x up but Ethereum is dying, yet for years ppl shill Eth why? on: April 11, 2024, 02:55:17 PM
Only reason Solana is up 20x is because of the Ftx mess. When they went bankrupt they held a large share of SOL and they also have tons and tons of locked SOL for the future.

People assumed SOL was a dead project and why they all dumped it. How low did it even go? $10 or $7. At the time people assumed SOL was finished and moved on to other projects.
It's the dynamism of altcoins, to never right of any of them that has gained reputation in the market, because before the ast quarter of last year, Solana, was being relegated to the undervalued projects corner, but it's dev. team went to work and added innovations that has made it the most talked about altcoin today. Although Ethereum still remains at the top of the altcoins hierarchy, I can agree with the OP that it's gas fees has made it to seem like an exclusive altcoin for the big investors, meanwhile Solana network has made it to grow in popularity and in demand, despite it's resent network congestion that I believe will be ratified soon.
700  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation become big challenge for retired people after 10-20 years? on: April 11, 2024, 01:08:45 PM
It is already causing lot of problems for retired people. How much will this problem intensify in future ?
This is a problem because where i worked and resigned about 12 years ago, some percentage of our salaries were removed and put into a pension fund to be claimed when we reach certain older years, anyways since then my country's currency has devalued like 1000% till date. I frankly don't know if the pension fund company is going to pay me when I'll be eligible to collect in the old rate when I stopped work or in this current devalued rate, because I believe that they'll pay based on percentage, and it'll be very unfair to use the present devalued rate. If pensioners  retirement benefits are not calculated based on the value of their currency in every year of their services, then it's a cheating on them, because if it's done on the present devalued currency, then they won't get everything that they deserves.
