Will we still be able to receive dividends if we keep our tokens in the ICO website? Or will we have to withdraw the tokens to an ethereum wallet where we hold the private key?

Call me crazy, but just about all of my crypto experience is with Proof of Stake / DPoS / brainwallet coins so I am actually quite hazy on just how ICN will actually work.  (Proof of Work & Mining = Pure Evil, don't even get me started).   It is a token on the Ethereum blockchain, right?  So how do I use an Ethereum wallet to put a non-Ethereum token into air-gap paper storage in my bank safe deposit box?  ELI5.  I don't even know the name of any Ethereum wallet or even where to go to get one.

I use  https://www.myetherwallet.com/   Which is a lot easier then the Mist version.  MyEtherWallet have confirmed that their wallet will support ICN.

Or lost ICN, I presume.

I've been doing my homework about using myetherwallet for cold storage of my upcoming pile of ICN.

READ THIS:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/48rt6n/using_myetherwalletcom_just_burned_me_for/?st=itop9se1&sh=ebc6b4e2

"...To be blunt, we agree this really fucking sucks. We hate to see this happen to anyone and we are sorry to any/all those who lose Ether for any reason, especially when it involves our wallet. But, we did not "burn you" for your ETH, nor did the code that we wrote have any bugs. We used an official library, that library had a bug in the privateToPublic method, and so therefore wallets generated using MyEtherWallet.com before Dec 31 2015 had the 1/128 probability of being affected by this bug."

So....only nine months ago, ETH itself had a flaw where one out of every 128 accounts created lost all ETH stored in the account.

SPLIT YOUR ICN AMONG MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS.

DO NOT PUT ALL OF YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

Other wallets you can entrust your ICN to:

So how do I use an Ethereum wallet to put a non-Ethereum token into air-gap paper storage in my bank safe deposit box?
The same way you do it with an ethereum wallet. As tokens can be send to all ETH wallets. Do only way you see them in your wallet is by adding the watchcontract in the mist wallet for example.
You have to "watch" the token. These are the steps:
1.Open Mist
2.Navigate to "Contracts" page
3.Scroll down and click"Watch Token"
4.Paste in the contracts address (as posted in the creation annoucement)
5.You can name the token as you like.
6.Give it 16 decimal places and click OK

Thanks, Axente.  I'm starting to understand.

@ICONOMI : You guys have got 10 days to come up with a PDF illustrated baby-step by baby-step guide for this on Mist and Myetherwallet that thousands of people will read.....

Hello!

Please tell me if i put 10k$ at risk what are chances to lose more than 50%? I can afford losing 5k but losing more than that it will crush my heart Sad

What are chances to lose all and how can that happen?

Thanks!

Invest only the $5K you can afford to lose and keep the rest.  Potential additional gain is not worth a possible crushed heart.

Wow over 7 mil for a high risk possible high reward project. Good luck to us all at this point I invested only 2 btc mostly because I'd consider this the riskiest large ico this year due to being altcoin related trading.

With the massive development capital they have raised with ICO, if ICONOMI focuses ONLY on altcoin trading then they are aiming too low.

They don't accept ETC deposit. if some one sent ETC he'll get refund after ICO.

My point exactly.  And that will be one unhappy ETCer.

@ICONOMI : I just got an email from you about investing even more in the last 24 hours.

You said you accept "ETC" instead of "ETH".

Oops?

(And just to be really picky, like a fintech startup with millions of OPM should be, the other correct symbol to use here is "LSK", not "LISK")

@ICONOMI: Some of our Lisk Community members would like to know, what you'll do with the invested LSK. Can you say something about this? Thanks in advance!

I am trying to collect a list of Lisk mainnet delegates that have invested in the ICONOMI ICO, along with your ICONOMI registration email address.  Message me here at Bitcointalk with your info. I'm going to formally ask the ICONOMI team to vote their Lisk for all of us once the ICO ends.

Maybe they should publish a statement first, that they will vote, Mal. I doubt they will, because this would mean, even if you only invest 10 LSK into ICONOMI, you would receive a full-weight vote from them. Sounds pretty unfair to me.

It doesn't hurt to ask.

If you are reading this and know me from attempts to organize Lisk Active Delegates, please send me a message here on Bitcointalk.  Please include your Lisk mainnet delegate name and the email address you have used to register for the ICONOMI ICO.

This ICO has accumulated almost 2.8 million Lisk worth around $700K or 10% of the total ICO.  I'll bet the ICONOMI team will hold on to those Lisk once Max releases them from escrow.  They might as well be used as votes for somebody; why not the mainnet delegates who have invested in their ICO?

I'll see what I can do for all of us.

Off topic, but who cares.  All there is to do here for another 32 hours  is watch the ICONOMI spinning numbers ...

I've been trying to figure out the Firstblood ICO.  Anything that makes $5.5 million in TEN SECONDS is worth trying to figure out.  Basically the Chinese exchange Yunbi set up a bunch of ETH miners to ram their purchase thru in the opening milliseconds of that ICO.  They bought 75% of the coins while instantly starting a DDoS attack to shut everybody else out.  Only 164 "people" besides Yunbi were able to purchase 1ST tokens before they were all gone.  Now Yunbi has put 1ST coins up for sale at their exchange three hours ago at a starting price that is double what the ICO sellout price was.  Nice way to double your millions invested in just a couple of days.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1543891.0

http://www.smithandcrown.com/first-blood-crowdsale-ended-minutes/

https://etherscan.io/token/tokenholderchart/FirstBlood?range=200

https://yunbi.com/markets/1stcny

If the future of crowdsale ICOs is nothing but automated instantaneous sellouts as ETH contracts, then ICONOMI may be the last chance ICO for the little guy to buy in at human speeds over 36 days.

Congratulations and thanks, ICONOMI.

This place is so full of pumpers that it is scary!

You obviously were not in on the Lisk ICO.  If this is scary, Lisk was like walking through a meat slaughterhouse during an LSD trip.  Hundreds and hundreds of pages that went on and on and on and on....
697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform ❘|❘ ICO OPEN | final days to invest on: September 28, 2016, 01:01:59 AM

If they use the over 10k BTC seed money to make good ICO picks for iconomi.performance, then ICN token holders would get that money back as dividends after some time

For example, let's say 12000 BTC is raised, then the extra 2000 BTC is used to seed the iconomi.performance fund

Iconomi invests the 2000 BTC into an ICO.  The ico goes up 1.5x, so that's a 1000 BTC profit.  ~20% would be distributed to ICN token holders = 200 BTC dividends.  Leaving 2800 BTC remaining in iconomi.performance fund

Now Iconomi invests the 2800 BTC into an ICO and it goes 1.5x.  That's 1400 BTC profit.  ~20% of profit distributed to ICN token holders = 280 BTC dividends.  Leaving 3920 BTC remaining in fund

This sounds logical - can somebody official (BCT member ICONOMI?) confirm?

So...if the 2000 BTC above is put in ICNP, who actually owns those ICNP tokens?  Will ownership of them be transferred proportionally to ICO participants, who could sell them on an exchange if they so choose?  And dividends are paid in ETH, right?

Does this imply that the launch price of ICN tokens just got maxed out at a constant 10,000 BTC / 85,000,000 ICN = 0.00011765 BTC per ICN?   And instead of further satoshi appreciation of the ICN tokens, we get ICNP dividends added on instead?

Hi Diplo!

OK, I'm confused.  ICONOMI has been very successful and has now gone over the 10,000 BTC mark.  Does this mean we are all now going to get both ICN and ICNX tokens, with the ICNX tokens being paid for by all donations over 10,000 BTC?

"We will cover all the costs of the VISA debit card (including issuing, shipping and membership costs) for the first year - it’s yours completely free!"

What are membership costs after the first year?

On the same level as any other VISA issued debit card. We will communicate details once we are closer to issuing the cards...

-Jaka Mele, ICONOMI

Another question : Does this debit a holder's ICN account or their ICNX account?

Nice perk, thanks!
