Wall gone, Rally start, Mtgoxlive down. GG.

Fix your API Mtgox! You're making way too much money with such a lousy and failing API.
http://www.btccharts.com/

btccharts.com is good, very good, but it's not a complete replacement for the Mtgox API. A lot more programs/websites depend on the API.

The huge sell wall is gone, can we resume our rally, or is it going to be left undecided? Going to be a sleepless night I think :p
685  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY TIME!!! on: February 22, 2012, 03:08:10 PM
It's 30k to $4.6 and more than 50k to $5.

He said "if it goes above the wall", so his numbers are correct. That wall either has to be bought up (unlikely at the moment I think) or be removed, which I think will eventually happen.

WaveAddict, how much do you think manipulative moves like throwing up huge ask walls like what happened this night affect technical analysis? I'm not sure whether I should ignore those walls completely, and make my trades based on technical analysis alone, or if there's someway I can integrate the information of those moves into my trading strategy? Wondering what you think! Thanks Smiley

And thank you for all those updates last night! Prevented me from making any stupid emotionally guided trades Smiley

Down to 4.43. I _really_ wonder what he's up to, and how low he's planning on pushing. Still wondering if I should short.
688  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:43:56 AM
Argh, honestly. Why does Mtgox keep screwing up? Can't they get their API right just ONCE? They should be making plenty of money to be able to create a good, reliable and working API... Sigh

What are some reasons other than wanting bitcoins cheaper, to snuff a rally like this ?

Just curious

Profiting from a (big) short position on Bitcoinica.

So snuff it, temporarily ? while he closes the position ?

What do you mean?

Edit: I think I know what you mean. Yeah, he wants to drive the price down so he profits from his short. Then once it's low enough, we'll liquidate and we'll go up up up. No idea when that'll happen though.
690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:36:02 AM
4.45.
691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mexican Standoff on: February 22, 2012, 02:34:14 AM
Someone just bought a lot of coins, all those coins are now in ask wall to prevent price rising. All the asks put in front of the wall are being bought by the person who put the wall there. IMO

Not many buys are going through at the moment. And if that's the case, why is he moving the wall lower and lower? There's hardly any place for asks to pile up for him to buy.

Aaaaaand down to 4.46! Fireworks imminent! :p

Obviously someone doesnt want the price to drop any further so keeps throwing money at it. Its no different to when the price was in the mid-$5 range but the current 'manipulator' is a smaller player.

If anything, the price is currently manipulated down, instead of up.
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:27:11 AM
Im wondering just how real that wall is. Someone should place a 20k market order and find out  Grin

Of course it can be bought, so in that sense it is real. I am just wondering if the manipulator will pull the wall if people start hitting it with multiple smaller buys. The wall went down another cent to 4.47 now btw.
696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:21:55 AM
And another 1 cent. We went from 4.50 to 4.49 to 4.48. Not sure if I should short again. I think I'm staying neutral in this confusion.
697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:17:14 AM
Hmmm, the wall just moved 1 cent down. I think it might continue pushing down. Manipulating at its finest... Let's see what's going to happen.
698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mexican Standoff on: February 22, 2012, 02:16:11 AM
The one with the most ammo.

And who is that?

That's the million dollar question.
699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its called a correction on: February 22, 2012, 02:15:48 AM
I was short as well, thinking we would break down from here. As the triangle broke to the upside and we started gaining momentum I liquidated at a slight loss, and wanted to go long, but then the wall popped up. Currently in USD without an open position. I'm at the sidelines for now. Gonna be an interesting but tiring/sleepless night :p

Looks like your submersible is a floater.

Not so sure, a massive ask wall just popped up.
