681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It could be possible to 51% Terracoin with avalon's new ASIC on: February 02, 2013, 02:55:43 AM
You could also do it with GPUs if you wanted. But why waste the time and money?

I am just stating fact. I did not say anyone would do it. All I said was that it was possible.

I truly dislike people who grow pot and sell it via Bitcoin.
It ruins Bitcoin's reputation.

683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / It could be possible to 51% Terracoin with avalon's new ASIC on: January 31, 2013, 03:14:53 AM
I saw the thread about jgarzik getting the first ASIC, and I was thinking. You could 51% a small alt-chain, say TRC, with a few ASICs.

The new Avalon ASIC runs at about 70 Ghash/s (reported by jgarzik).

Terracoin's network hashrate was estimated by crazy_rabbit (Nov 2012) to be running at about 100 Ghash/s

Two of the new ASICs could 51% terracoin. Watch out.

Bitcoin is faster & more efficient than credit card transactions, and transactions can't be frozen/reversed.

Downloading and verifying the blockchain is a pain in a**, though.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Ecoinpool - Tech Support on: January 28, 2013, 04:33:17 AM
I am having this odd problem:

rich@rich ~/ecoinpool-build/ecoinpool $ ./test_launch.sh
==> ecoinpool (compile)
==> ebitcoin (compile)
==> rel (compile)
==> ecoinpool (compile)
Erlang R15B (erts-5.9) [source] [64-bit] [smp:4:4] [async-threads:0] [hipe] [kernel-poll:true]

Eshell V5.9  (abort with ^G)
(ecoinpool_test@rich)1> {"init terminating in do_boot",{{badmatch,{error,{"no such file or directory","log4erl.app"}}},[{ecoinpool_test_launch,start,0,[{file,"src/ecoinpool_test_launch.erl"},{line,29}]},{init,start_it,1,[]},{init,start_em,1,[]}]}}

Crash dump was written to: erl_crash.dump
init terminating in do_boot ()

Please tell me what I need to do in order to fix this error.

I goes against my moral values, and it would be illegal. I am not a thieving jerk, and I do not wish to be arrested.
I knew someone would ask that, however.
694  Other / Beginners & Help / Custom vanity addresses [closed] on: January 27, 2013, 04:46:35 AM
If you want, I will generate a custom bitcoin address for you.

Here are the rules, though:
-The custom pattern you want (e.g. 1RichG) may not be longer than 6 characters
-It may take me up to a week to get back to you

1. Please email me at ruchg1@gmail.com with what pattern you want, and how much you will pay me (min. BTC0.05), and I will reply with an address for you to pay me at (when I am done), and when you pay me, I will send you the address and private key.

2. Import the private key.

There you go!

Offer removed.

I do not like newbie restrictions either, but I can understand their use in deterring trolls. Trolls make forums REALLY messy.
