My Wallet is not connected to the network.

How do I get it working?

Copy of my .conf file

What am I doing wrong?

rpcuser=***
rpcpassword=***
rpcallowip = 127.0.0.1
rpcport = 14474

the main seednodes are still all functioning - and have been since we first set them up mate ...

remove ALL the addnodes - and add the following ( if you are using the older wallet - that does not have the seednodes hardcoded ) ... in my git - the code is updated with the seednodes hardcoded - if you know how to compile a new wallet for your os ...

Code:
addnode=mtr-seed1.granitecoin.com
addnode=mtr-seed2.granitecoin.com
addnode=mtr-seed3.granitecoin.com

hope that helps ...

#crysx

Thanks for the help crysx!

no problem rich ...

the seednodes have been running and servicing the mtr network since they were setup ...

im doing maintenance on the nodes now - which means they will be offline for a total of 30seconds - in the next few minutes ... but they will not all be offline at once - they will be offline in a staggered time frame so that there are always two other nodes active while one is offline ...

#crysx

Thanks alot, I do appreciate your long term commitment.

Post your MTR addresses for the nodes, and I will send you 2.5K MTR to each of them.

Would you be open to adding any more 24-7 nodes up?

Maybe 3 more by chance?

I could fill those nodes with some MTR for your service.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

no worries ...

you have never dealt badly with me - and i hope i have been the same with you mate ...

i do read and see what happens here - and stay in constant touch with what has been going on ... but since the inability to access the main chrysophylax account - i havent been spending as much time on bct as i usually do any more ... and there has been huge developments in the backend for granite ( grn ) and now ozziecoin ( ozc ) ... so i hope we can eventually work with mtr and the toshidesk infrastructure eventually ...

but you know ill help where i can anyway ...

as for the nodes - there are two more for the taking ...

have been busy with a couple of other nodes and coins ( egc and bern to name two ) and working closely with the dev to make sure all is well on that front also ... so two more can be setup and run when you want them to be ... just give the word ...

this means that mtr-seed4 and mtr-seed5 can be active in the next couple of hours after sync ...

let me know and ill start them right away while im doing the maintenance ... and ill pm you the addresses if so ...

tanx mate ...

#crysx

Hey Crysx,

You have always been one of my ride or dies.

Always cool, calm, and collective.

Never have you flip flopped on me.

I will always respect you for that.

About the nodes.

Lets lock those other 2 in for the MTR network.

I'm ready to send the MTR to each node asap.

Just send me the wallet addresses and consider it done.

The network could use another 2 solid 24-7 nodes.

The MTR network is going to have a lot more coins running through it now.

You can post your progress on the nodes here if you like, nothing to hide.

Thanks so much.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

much appreciated ...

im setting them up now - and compiling the daemons ...

will be ready to start sync in about 7minutes ...

the new nodes will be in the same format ( when dns is setup and the servers propagate worldwide ) as the previous seeds ...

so all in all - the nodes that need to be added if you have the old wallets active is below ... if you have compiled directly from my git - you wont need to add any nodes to the conf file - as they are hardcoded by the time these new seeds are ready ...

Code:
addnode=seed1.granitecoin.com
addnode=seed2.granitecoin.com
addnode=seed3.granitecoin.com
addnode=seed4.granitecoin.com
addnode=seed5.granitecoin.com

ill also recompile all the daemons when the new seednodes are hardcoded into the source ...

so it will all be up to date within the next few hours ...

skyping you the addresses in a few minutes mate ...

#crysx

All nodes filled Crysx.

SEED 1 + 2499.8 MTR
SEED 2 + 2499.8 MTR
SEED 3 + 2499.8 MTR
NEW SEED 4 + 2999.8 MTR
NEW SEED 5 + 3999.9 MTR

I'm also on your git right now and see you added the new seeds into the code.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

tanx rich ...

im fixing the git now - as the seeds are copies of the seed3 ... :| ... my typo ... which means i will recompile all the nodes once i get that done in the next few hours ...

as for the coins - i will remove them from the seeds to a common wallet - rcompile ALL the seeds and resync ( which take a long time ) - then transfer even amounts into the seeds again ...

that way - each seed can stake and run on average about the same as the other ...

i appreciate the donation you have given to the seeds - and will make it much easier to move the blockchain if any problems arise in the future ...

if there is a need for it - i will get a windows and osx wallet ( im a linux guy - so i can only provide linux help ) of the latest compile - IF - anyone is interested ...

by this evening ( my time - adelaide australia ) - i will have the seed daemons recompiled and started sync ...

update - the seeds code was correct but for some reason i saw them as multiple copies ... strange ... in anycase - im currently recompiling and updating the sync when its finished ... tonight should have the seednodes ready at full sync ...

tanx again ...

however - the 6 card issue is ONLY with the 980ti cards ... it seems even the amd 280x oc / 7970 cards ( one and the same ) never had that issue either ... 6 cards and no problem ...

im sure its a bios issue - as ive seen 8 gpus in a single system run by an expensive supermicro motherboard designed ( with a large capable bios ) for such things in hpc servers ...

but i will research your suggestion - as it could also be an issue with the way the 6th 980ti card is allocated in the bios / motherboard ...

tanx ...

#crysx

I like puzzles like this. Have you had 6 cards working in the same rig as the one currently failing with 6x 980ti?
A rig that previously worked would have the correct BIOS settings already.

I'll jump ahead assuming you have already proven your HW and SW and know where I'm leading, It may be the number
and model of card that is the problem. 980ti's have 6 GB mem so that is 36 GB to support. Just speculating, I don't know if adding RAM or swap would help.

if you're not yet fully invested in the 980ti you may want to wait a week for the 1080

I believe this is the 980Ti problem ( V 6th card ) . ( but that's for the miner. And if OS do not see 6th card - jumped riser might help.

Any time I cross a power of 2 boundary I get scared. 5 cards keeps it to 32 GiB.

you know ... its funny that i cant remember whether i DID test it on a different motherboard or not ... which would usually indicate that i didnt ...

so im going to pull one of the other motherboards from the previously working 6card 750ti systems - and replace the current motherboard for a test with the 980ti systems ...

i have it still for another few weeks before i have to give it back - so better now than never i guess ...

if anyone has successfully run 6 x 980ti ( whichever brand ) cards in one machine - i would appreciate you contacting me ...

#crysx

I saw Asrock released a new BIOS v2.30. Did you try flashing it already? Also disabling unnecessary things in bios like LPT, COM, audio and set PCIex to gen1 might help...

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81%20Pro%20BTC/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

will check - tanx for the link ...

all other components not used are switched off - as with ALL the mining systems and motherboards ...

i honestly believe it is a bios issue ... all the cards work - and all function well ... just not all at once - only 5 at a time Smiley ...

ill have a look at that today ...

OK, i've finally resynched again, payouts are enabled, please withdraw your coins before the next fork happens

the next fork happens? ...

you of all people should understand that issues occur on occasion to almost any coin mate ...

look at the hell you went through with decred - and STILL go through ... just because dcr make more btc makes it less of a headache? ...

you will always be one of the 'top of my list' devs / people in crypto mate - but i am must say that im actually shocked to see you write something like that ... im backing steven and egc / bern 100% - and the reason for that is that he is on the ball and CARES ... apart from the fact that he and i worked tirelessly to correct the issues AND bring it all back to normal ... the man is a good man ... three days straight is not a small feat of continued work ... ill have his back whenever he needs it ... for both coins ...

having a pool with the status that suprnova has is a bonus in its own right ...

its a pity that you are taking the pool offline ... and i do understand that forks ( or any issue with coins ) are a pain ...

suprnova is still one of the better pool places to go ... so keep up the great work ... i just wanted to voice that i think that statement is a little unfair - especially as an expectation ...

thats all mate ...

Whatever happened with Dr. Wright. Did that all blow over?

I think he's been working hard launching the third x11 ASICs.  This one looks a bit made-in-the-garage:

i honestly think he is trying to prove he is einstein now - using some convoluted time space travel theory ...

either einstein or superman ... one of the two ...

the main seednodes are still all functioning - and have been since we first set them up mate ...

remove ALL the addnodes - and add the following ( if you are using the older wallet - that does not have the seednodes hardcoded ) ... in my git - the code is updated with the seednodes hardcoded - if you know how to compile a new wallet for your os ...

Code:
addnode=mtr-seed1.granitecoin.com
addnode=mtr-seed2.granitecoin.com
addnode=mtr-seed3.granitecoin.com

hope that helps ...

I think I forked again.

14 blocks remaining but it wouldn't sync.

I'm back on the right fork, I have two wallets running and the one that went on the wrong fork was the one I was mining to.

awesome ...

are you using ccminer-spmod(xxx) to mine the Xseries? ...

if so - which are you using? ...

Hey crysx, I'm using a somewhat older version of SP-mod (1.5.72).

2.06 Mh/s per 750 Ti and 6.08 Mh/s per 970 with medium OC on both.

kool ...

was just curious mate ...

with X and quark - i use ccminer-spmod80 - as it does seem to be the fastest in those algos ... though i am moving more away from spmod altogether ...

And @ Crysx:  did you try with simple cheap unpowered( or powered) riser with pin A1-B17 shorted - on 6th card? That solved my 6th card problem few times.

ive tried everything you can imagine ... though that shorting is not one of them ...

im not a newbie to this ( dont be fooled by my profile - i still havent got my last profile back ) and as such - take a LOT into account with mining ...

i do however - appreciate your advice and thoughts ...

ill have thefarm up and running soon - looking at a new place on thursday - so im crossing my fingers this warehouse is a good one ...

i NEVER use cheap unpowered ribbon - especially on highpowered cards ... ive burned too many of them to be easily using ANY ribbon cable - no matter who suggests them here ... ive been in too many discussions and eventual arguments over such things - its become too old - too quick ...

top level components in thefarm - nothing less ...

however - the 6 card issue is ONLY with the 980ti cards ... it seems even the amd 280x oc / 7970 cards ( one and the same ) never had that issue either ...

I added evergreen.conf and it is now beginning to download the blocks but it got stuck on the remaining block 5121 sometimes it reduced to 2092 blocks and back again to 5121 blocks over and over again.  Sad

if you have the latest wallet - the official seednodes are hardcoded into the wallet ...

the seednodes are all on the right chain - and have been servicing the network 'flat out' - and im still watching the seeds answering sync requests as i type this ...

if there are ANY nodes you need to add to the .conf file - make sure they are the official nodes ... as they are ALL on the right chain currently ...

the bootstrap does take a lot of time - and it is sometimes ( depending on how fast your internet connection maybe ) quicker or easier to just start the sync via the internet - and let it sync that way ...

if the wallet is getting stuck - make sure you are on the right chain by comparing the hash on the blocks that get posted here on occasion ...

a HUGE amount of work has been going on behind the scenes to get this all functioning again - and resyncing on the right chain will save everyone a great deal of time ...

the latest block on the seeds at the time of writing this post is below - with the hash below it ... compare it to that hash - and if its the saem - then you shouldnt be worried ... if its not the same hash on that block - then you are on the wrong chain and need to resync ...

Code:
evergreencoind getblockhash 422052

I was on the wrong fork too... everything seemed fine, syncing, staking and everyting. Until i checked your blockheight...

So my error was a manual ADDNODE

Renamed peers.dat  .. removed ALL ADDNODES from conf.
Restarted... now its synching fine.

I've probably lost all the staking for a cpl of days... but thats my fault imo.
I noticed when there was a problem, and i didnt not check well enough that i was on the right fork.
In addition its my fault to have used manual addnodes, and not stick with the hardcoded.

My view on lost mining/staking.

First, i see it as my responsibility to be with the right gear, software and settings and on the right blockchain.

Also mining needs to be monitored for problems and other occurances.
If you see ANY kind of problems with the blockchain, immediately STOP or slow way down.
Staking is supposed to be seen in a bigger and longer perspective.. and day or two off lost stake time should not be a problem for coins staked annualy.

What you should NEVER do:
*Rent more hash or gear to go on when there possible is a problem brewing.
*Start moving coins around from wallets, pools or exchanges.
*Fall in the traps of an exchange beeing out of sync.. by move coins to earn money on wrongly priced coins on a bad fork.

If you do any of those things.. I would not be surprised if you get some kind of problems or loss of coins.

Now. seeing my wallet beeing on the wrong chain and having problems with sync.. im deleting everything(really meaning making an "error" folder and moving everything in there) but WALLET.DAT , the exe file, the dll file and my conf.

Downloaded the bootstrap .. will report back how it went.

well put ...

your points are well described - and SHOULD be what everyone should do ... including the most seasoned miner ( including myself ) and trader ...

not everyone does unfortunately ...

but in this industry - everyone should take it on themselves to proceed at ANY level - with caution ... no matter what coin or project ...

always keep your eyes open - and ALWAYS adhere to the directions ( and advice ) of the dev and team ...

im glad you caught yours while its not too far off ... i can still see so many ips being rejected ( and subsequently banned ) from the seednodes - due to the incorrect requests of the wrong blockchain ...

this is not an exact science - and as such - should not be treated this way ... yes - people invest their time and money into this - but i have ALWAYS worked on the same principle and have shared it many many MANY times before ...

NEVER invest any more than you can AFFORD to LOSE ...

that goes for ANY of the projects - including bitcoin itself ...

in saying that - tireless work is bring done in the background to reduce the risk of loss and every effort is made to make these projects as viable as possible ... this doesnt always work - and so - that is the responsibility that one takes when entering this crypto arena ...

if you are here - and just starting out OR a veteran - you are taking the same risk ... difference is - the veteran accepts the risk and minimizes the risk to themselves ( mostly ) without blaming the dev for every decision the USER makes ... and of course - moves on and forward ...

there will be issues - there will be problems - there will be hindsightedness ... but always remember - no one twisted your arm to enter this crypto space and take the risks that we ALL are faced with - dev included ... unlike most coins and devs out there - there is no intention of leaving this behind - and the work shall continue ... come rain hail sleet or snow - we will face it ...

so be diligent with your wallets and coins - and be diligent with backups and safeguarding ...

among the rig you have with nvidia, you can confirm that you are running 6 970 or 80 and not only small nvidia like 750?

I am running 6 gtx 970's stable on a 1000W gold rated psu (EVGA). The 970 cards have 2x 6 pin power connectors. H81BTC board with no powered risers, but with 2 extra 4pin molex connectors attached to the board.

perfect, tnx for the info it's the same setup that i have(not the gpu planning to reach six that why i asked), but what system are your unning, windows 7?

btw 1kw for six gpu isn't a bit far-stretched are those card heavily tdp-limited? like 50-55%?

with the 980ti - only 5 can run ... even though it IS possible with 6 - i could not get it to run ... all with powered high quality risers - all powered on the motherboard as well ... so there is sufficient power all round ... 2 x corsair ax1200i psu ... asrock h81btcpro ... 16gb hi performance ram ... ( cant go any higher with this motherboard due to bios restrictions apparently ) ...

example of the processing using spmod80 with no oc on 5 cards - qaurk approx 142mh - x11 approx 61mh ...

a sixth card would be very beneficial - but just refuses to work ...

all the lower cards ( gigabyte 750ti oc lp ) run on similar systems - all on corsair rm1000 psu - all 6 cards at a time ...

go figure ...

Signed up for toshitalk, havnt been able to find free time to play around on the platform yet. Looking forward to carving out some time maybe tomorrow.

Great, I just posted a few calls you might want to look at.

I'm going to dedicate some of the left over premine after the burn to paying ToshiDesk users, to be active.

Users that are active deserve to be rewarded.

Posting Charts, News, Ideas, Opinions, Chatter in the box, etc will be graciously rewarded.

Using the premine to build a credible community is the end goal.

Would love to see more active users on there...

Even if you post a development critique, explaining something you think should change, or additions that should be made...Those style of posts, on ToshiDesk will also be rewarded.

Do you part and lets see where we can take ToshiDesk, as we continue to develop this charting platform on a daily basis.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

I think rewarding the community is a great idea, but keep it well documented what comes out of the reserve.

Also I suggest ridding toshitalk of the wait time for approval of replays or thread creation.

I agree, reason for the approval rule from the start was due to spam monkeys.

I will turn it off, and just ban the monkeys, as they come.

Of course, the reserve deductions will be well documented.

Not looking to devalue community trust.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

Maybe incorporate a report option on posts so community members can self report and then less your your time will be dedicated to babysitting and focused on more important developments, networking, ect.

Done.

that as well as assigning a mod that is willing to work with you to moderate the forum as well ... someone you can trust of course ...

#crysx

I think we spoke about maybe you being a mod for us?

I could set you up as a mod if you still wish to lend a hand.

I think we will need at least 2-3 mods early on.

Let me know if you are game to mod for ToshiTalk.

Really looking to get that forum more active.

Been really working on the spam filters lately, and have been locking down registration parameters to prevent spam bots.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

hi mate ...

hope all is well ...

no we did not speak about it - but im flattered Smiley ...

i will help in anyway - but i am unsure of whether i would be any real good use to you ( or the community ) as a forum mod ... i know i could do it - if the knowledge of the forum was adequate ...

we can trial and see if you like - and i would suggest that those with experience in the forum system would be better placed than i - but who has stepped up for the job? ...

there is one person whom i know who is experienced and very good - but he is very busy with his personal projects for the moment ...

lets chat and see what we can come up with - we can always learn Wink ...

im on skype most days and evenings now - which would make most nights and mornings for you ...

#crysx

Hey Crysx Grin

Yea the forum software is pretty well known and super easy to use.

It's phpBB.

I love it, it works well, and can handle high volume traffic no problem.

If you are willing to just be 1 mod out of 3-5 I might hire...It wouldn't require much time.

Maybe 10 mins here and there throughout the week.

I have another group of Crypto Pals I can always rely on and said they would help in any way possible.

Appreciate your positive attitude.

Thanks for sticking by my side through all of this!

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

no worries mate ...

you know im on skype - let me know what your ideas are ...
