681  Local / India / Re: 12th of Jan 2009 when the first Bitcoin transaction was made. on: January 13, 2024, 11:25:07 AM
Most early adopters either sold off or invested their money elsewhere or moved on. It is rare to find one of them today or idolize them, rather we should focus on building out own stash of coins.

ETF seems good for price rise, but how much the institutional investors are going to interested in them, only time can tell. There is interest thats why the price is going up. However the early adopters may not even be interested in ETFs, they just want their money to increase in total.

With bitcoin, you need to patient and continue holding and not get stuck at with one new positive thing.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 13, 2024, 11:10:45 AM
At present, for me it is asset>P2P currency because I have limited avenues of spending the money and I am more concerned in growing my stash than spending it. Not every country is crypt-friendly, as you might be knowing.

Number of businesses using bitcoin as a primary means of transaction is much less than those using fiat. The impact of such companies on the economy is thus small but expected to grow in the near future. When that happens the balance will shift towards P2P>>>Asset.

Still then out main objective should be to collect coins for spending in future and now in this decade.
683  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be your stance if Bitcoin price was individually negotiable as a P2P on: January 13, 2024, 11:06:18 AM
P2P orders are priced against ongoing market prices, you cannot "name your price and get away with it".

Most of the OTC deals going on are also at 10% markup. P2P dealers are not going to loss positions after selling, so you can assume the same type there too. That "Had I known" has very little effect here.

But there is also the fact that 1BTC = 1BTC, so why vary the cost when speaking in terms of USD? This is because of lack of liquidity of bitcoin compared high liquidity of fiat.
684  Local / Mining (India) / Re: How well people here in india knows about Mining on: January 12, 2024, 04:33:10 PM
There are ways to counter the electricity issue and use those subsidized government projects like the one promoted by by them which uses Solar energy.
Solar power is indeed something new and has been subsidized in many states by the government like UP. But such states are few in number and I would be biased to be speaking from the one I reside in. Here solar power is something people read about in news but has never been applied in reality.

I myself was looking at the projects that common residents in UP have done and posted on youtube and was getting pretty excited about it but sadly its not feasible here.

Cooling costs is something that is the natural downside here.
685  Economy / Exchanges / Re: onyxchange.com is legit? on: January 12, 2024, 03:50:46 PM
I checked the site myself, does not bring any confidence for me.

I wonder who this "friend" of yours is and whether it was just some telegram rando spamming all members of a group with the same exchange link and you took them as friend? Huh

Still, there are so many legit exchanges out there, use the ones which are used by people from your country without hassle, dont go for obscure exchanges because scams are way common than you can guess.
686  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which Casino and Sportsbook have the best UI? Which others can improve? on: January 12, 2024, 03:40:01 PM
Majority of the sites have a similar looking UI and Stake was the one which came first in this aspect, most of the recently launched casinos have followed suit. The site blackjack.fun has a psychedelic look which reminds me of vaporwave and I appreciate that a lot, at least someone tries to stand out.

Unfortunately UI is only for looking good, the inside matter needs to be good to be able to hold on to the players/customers. A good UI will bring in players but if the withdrawals/customer service/promotions are bogus, they will not stay for long.

And we all know that casino profits from its regular players not the one offs.
687  Local / India / Re: 1 Paisa = 30 Satoshi on: January 11, 2024, 04:45:42 PM
It has been around 8 years for me staying in this community and when we look down the line it feels truly amazing to still hang around this forum.
I have learnt so many things over the year being here and seeing bitcoin grow in price and value is one of a kind of feeling.
I started my journey on this when bitcoin was priced at around 600-700$/BTC and from there it is touched 69000$ as all time high. Indeed a huge rise in price and also development in its core.

I used to collect old coins too, possibly I have lost most of them. Due to inflation even the 50 paisa coin is of no value and we are seeing bigger denominations now come in a coins.
688  Local / Mining (India) / Re: How well people here in india knows about Mining on: January 11, 2024, 04:40:58 PM
Honestly, I think that should be the first thing for anyone coming into the Bitcoin world, to learn about Bitcoin and crypto little bit first and then start his journey into it.
You cant go into too much depth in mining without actually doing it yourself. Besides, most bitcoin users have a basic understanding of how mining works and that is enough for them to get through with daily necessities of bitcoin. Unless they are willing to start mining themselves, that much is enough.

The situation in India is not miner-friendly. I dont think things will change much here, because the natual temp is on higher side and cost of importing miners is also there and so is the cost of electricity.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 03:42:01 PM
Gambling is gambling, how does gender make any difference here. When the neural circuits that force the person to gamble become powerful enough, the gender of that person is no longer the thing controlling them. It is the Dopamine surge that takes control when the risky bet is taken.

I have seen so many of the female gamblers go broke and down the debt hole just like any male counterpart, it makes no difference in their outcome.

Again I see many of them being sugar babies to other male players trying to get tips and all - You can understand the rest yourself.
690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is better, parlay or teaser bet? on: January 11, 2024, 03:38:23 PM
I'm not very familiar with teaser bets. I thought it was just to test the waters or some sort. Like, tease a little bit lol.
At first I also thought the same, its not something I have heard frequently on casino websites.

Parley does sound like a "all-in" because you are trying to increase the multiplier with staking of many 1.x multipliers in addition. You are looking for a big number here and hence the comparison I make.

So do that if you are willing to take the risk. A few losses in the parley and you are going down.
691  Economy / Economics / Re: The Jim Cramer affect on Bitcoin.... on: January 11, 2024, 03:30:46 PM
From the long-term perspective, these small fluctuations caused by certain people don't matter.
Thats what I always try to reinforce among the new traders. If you are in it for the long term you are bound to get profits, but you wont get those huge numbers that some youtubers might say with their eyes popping out of the thumbnail.

For someone making predictions, I tell people never to follow such people. Predictions are correct in 50-50 times and they are not the practical basis of any trades. Instead they are to be taken with a grain of salt and laughed at. Maybe in short term you can make profits but its risky.

I still dont see the point of twitter being the impetus to buy or sell. Its foolish to follow people like that.
692  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 11, 2024, 03:27:00 PM
Yep, Freebitcoin has a faucet feature as users can still claim a few free sats every hour. However, I would say this has long been a secondary feature, and now Freebitcoin is more like a casino than a faucet.
The faucet or the free roll system was first established and it is the longest running feature on the site, what it was built for initially. Dont forget that the 200$ roll is special and can be won without betting anything if you get lucky on the free roll. All other features of the site are like casinos, you need to risk some money to be able to win something.

This what the site has the long term name and fame because faucets were very popular at one time in the crypto space. At this point it is a casino with investment features.

694  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin the future of currency on: January 10, 2024, 05:10:34 PM
And aside that the bull run is just by the corner meaning we'll be experiencing two set of bulls this year.
One bull run is more than enough to run the entire year of "to the moon" comments. Cheesy

Besides the ETF may get approved and that means the price will rise and correct at a much higher level than 50k USD in the coming months. But a cancellation might plummet the price back to 30k or even lower.

However this does not correlate with bitcoin being for the future. Remember that price going up means increased demand, it does not relate to "good" or "bad" - you can understand this better in the lines of altcoins that pump high but have zero value so they drop back so hard you cant even break even.
695  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 10, 2024, 04:59:36 PM
Basically, I have around 25$k to invest, and I really want to hit least 200K$ by the end of this year.
Depends on the market and what you invest in. Its not impossible, but most likely not possible as well. From 25k to 50k seems more feasible.

Could you please give me some tips and advises?
Bitcoin at lower price ranges is what should be bought. Nothing else matters.

Quote
Also, It is an amount that I honestly don't want to lose since it counts significantly to my capital.
However trading should be done with the money that you can afford to lose. I am not sure how you will go forward with this.

Quote
Background story, I have quite the portfolio that would count around 150k$ at current prices, some I sold early and some went greedy and lost.
I did learn a though lesson about patience tho.
I hope you did, patience is important and since you are already setting deadlines of 200k in one year, I doubt you will be able to keep patience and likely panic at the last few months if bear run starts by then.

Quote
Also, psychologically I am done with trading since the lost, I was great at it but one drunk night got me bad lol.
Don't drink and trade folks.
Thats both advice and introspection.
696  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 10, 2024, 04:51:03 PM
Funny lines, indeed. I get the sarcasm but I think most of the older members here already make sure to avoid these steps.

1. A lot of stuff these days are not necessary. Decide what is needed and buy accordingly. Though this is tough to do for much of the upcoming generations.
2. Source of income is usually one. More than one needs time to develop and work on.
3. Lenders can prefer lending money to a casino that allows investing in the bankroll, rare nowadays but a good side earning.
4. Gathering information is not counterproductive though. Mind your own but keep tabs on whats happening outside too.
697  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Since 2013 | Longest Running Crypto Casino | 113 BTC Jackpot! on: January 10, 2024, 04:38:21 PM
Is primedice the biggest BTC casino? Is there a ranking somewhere?
The term big is relative and unless you define a parameter, the term has not significance. If you talk in terms of number of bets, then the casinos running older than primedice are bigger than it. If you talk about bankroll, then not everyone has a publicly declared bankroll so hard to comment.

I dont think there is a ranking anywhere but among popularity back in 2014-2017 era, before their sister site stake was made the center of attraction, primedice was very popular.

It still is, but the chat is only a spamfest because of the rain and many older users have left to move on to different sites.

I am unsure wetsuit is the owner of Freebitco.in. I believe wetsuit is the owner, just unsure.
wetsuit is the owner of the site and they have hired some people from the forum to represent them here. There is the PR account and TheQuin, previously another username something like "myles" was posting for them too, I cant recall the name properly.

Very sure they will be back soon. Possibly enjoying a few more beers after the new year and the first few weeks of January. Just keep calm and keep rolling on freebitco.in as the bitcoin price continue to soar upwards.
699  Local / Mining (India) / Re: How well people here in india knows about Mining on: January 09, 2024, 03:18:21 PM
After mining for about six months he stopped because it was not profitable, he kept a few Ethereum in a cold wallet in case the price pumps which it did in December 2017. He sold everything that he had in his wallet then sold all the equipment and moved on with his life.
My opinion is that they did the right thing. In a country were power cuts become common as you move from the Tier 1 to Tier 2 cities and rampant in Tier 3 cities, its better to just have access to internet and be able to read about crypto than ever think about mining it.

I would not suggest people here to mine, unless they have prepared such a setup of their own to cover all these hassles. Cooling costs and maintenance costs are going to be huge here.

Altcoin mining itself is a gambling race. You mine one coin that pumps and dump that and move to another one. You would lose sleep just to figure out which coin to mine and need to automate that based on data. Too much work for too little profit.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the kind of world you want to live in? [read] on: January 09, 2024, 03:12:34 PM
Who knows? Maybe in the future, they'll extinct DEXs and force the KYC CEXs on us because they want to exert control over us.
But if we continue to think about such pessimistic and negative things, only we are the ones who are going to suffer.

It is a human tendency to be pessimistic and see bad things happen while maybe in your lifetime you would never actually encounter these problems at all. Who knows we may not even live that long to see bitcoin become the natural means of transaction and we are already talking about governments and banks taking everything over.

Instead my point remains same, collect bitcoin, use it if you wish, reap the profit and enjoy your lives instead of making up conspiracy theories or adding fuel to the same.

These things only lead to mental agony and the current average mental state of any person, we dont want that to worsen further.
