681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Getting started with Ethereum / Zcash Investments Vs Mining on: December 13, 2016, 11:42:10 AM
Hi Everyone,

We all hold a common interest in crypto currencies, probably primarily due to Bitcoin trading, but Mining is starting to pick up since Ethereum, and now Zcash. Beware though, there are several scammers who sell overpriced mining contracts and even pyramid schemes based on Bitcoins or other crypto currencies. You should Only invest in crypto currencies if you have read a lot about it, see it having a stable future and understand the technology behind it. Once you have done all that, I believe the only two safe routes of investment are :

Buying Crypto Currencies and trading them at exchanges, or holding them if you believe in going long for larger profits.
Investing in setting up mining hardware, keeping it up and running with the latest software, generating crypto currencies through mining, and then trading, selling or holding it.

Now while the former is easier, its still largely open to financial risk. I personally chose to go with the latter, that is Mining, because I understood computers and it interested me. But for someone who is new to this, the amount of information that you need to assimilate and process is daunting. A forum like Bitcointalk is very useful in learning about crypto currencies, and is the first choice for people who develop specialized software for mining.

I've been into mining for a while, started with Ethereum in August this year post the introduction of the RX 470 cards, which is the first time mining at India's temps and electricity costs made sense.
I have already almost recovered my initial investment, and am bullish on the future of crypto currency mining.
I grew my personal setup to 1000MH/s at which point I hit the electrical capacity of my current apartment. So I began building rigs for other people.
I use Bios Mods and Voltage tweaks to keep power consumption to under 100W per card while getting 25.5 Mh/s (Eth) or 170 Sol/s (Zec).
I have sold a few Rigs in India, and if you are interested in purchasing such a rig from me directly, please go to this thread for more information https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1703590

The Bitcointalk marketplace is a great place to start, look around and you will find some interesting deals on hardware. If you can, get the GPUshack bundle as that removes most of the headaches associated with finding the right combination of components that work together. Even if you do not wish to invest into a new machine for mining just getting a graphics card is a sound investment (even though the market exchange rates may not tell that story today) and since a large population of people with PC's play computer games on it, you have an alternative use for the graphics card. Remember, China already holds about 70% of the worlds mining hash-power and centralization of power of any kind never resulted in anything good. Spread it out people, get mining.

In anycase, even if you decide to build your own machine, please do, I would love to see the Indian Mining scene grow, our neighbor China already holds about 70% of the worlds mining hashpower and I believe we have as lot of potential as well.

ETH Price recovering fast. Profitability up to $1.1 per card per day, ROI down to 11 months and reducing.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with rx 470 on: December 11, 2016, 09:58:45 AM
If you want to stick to the optimum undervolted settings for RX 470 and get around @27 Mh/s per card, an 850W Gold PSU is fine. If you want to overclock them to max and get @29 Mh/s per card get a 1000W Gold PSU.

I'm going to buy it in coming days, so i thought its better to take some review of it?
I want to know what will be the h/s for these algos
Cryptonight h/s
scrypt h/s
Quark h/s
X11 h/s
Eth h/s
Equihash h/s
quark h/s
Sha-256 ...(just in case)

Dude, noone has bought that card for mining, yet. Probably because you can buy a complete 6/7 card rig for the price of that single card.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: December 07, 2016, 01:52:16 PM
Why does NiceHash use Genoils fork of ethminer? It gives us much lower performance compared to Claymores 7.3/7.4 Eth miner.

Do you have any stats to share?
What results you get with each one on your HW?

Around 112MH/s with Genoil, around 127 with Claymore.
688  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Prebuilt Eth/Zec Mining Rigs in Bangalore on: December 06, 2016, 05:37:03 PM
Considering a 4 card setup mining ZEC

Equipment cost = INR 1,00,000/-

Power consumption = INR 3,000/month

ZEC earned = INR 9,000/month

Monthly earning = INR 6,000/month

considering a 12% interest on initial investment it will take 18 months for ROI if difficulty and ZEC/INR rates remain stable.

please correct if I have miscalculated anywhere.

What if Electricity cost Become 2 rs Per unit....
This is possible in India only
People who have links in Government Firms or Big industries who provides rooms for employees for low minimum rates... here where i am living i have seen many people consume lot of electricity....

We can contact that room owner and save 2500 per month + we will get room for live
or
another idea A hostel student can use this because Bill will be paid by College ....

Haha a distributed network spread across a hostel could work well. Especially since these mining rigs can be used as fully functional computers, even play games while they mine. I had also explored renting out these systems to startups for negligible fee with the condition that they would need to insure 24/7 power and internet, but it needed too much initial investment for me to get into.
I do know a few people in Bangalore itself that pay a fixed amount for electricity, and for such arrangements mining rigs are pretty lucrative.
Don't say this can happen only in India though, most of the worlds renewable electricity supply is dirt cheap, like hydel power plants etc. Toonim brothers, who operate a large mining facility, are located next to a Dam/Reservoir and have dirt cheap electricity. Most of the Chinese operations rely on dirt cheap/free electricity, and over 70% of the worlds hashing power is located there.

Anyways, I'm still bullish on Etherium, but a little unsure of Zcash. I'll be mining and holding for a while, im in for the long haul. Remember those stories of people who had mined a 1000 Bitcoins and held them, then the price broke $1000? A million dollars from a few PC's running unattended. That's the dream.

Zcash Profits would be around $3 per day at today's rates which comes to about $90 per month, so you calculations are pretty accurate (slightly lower for Eth).
Mining profits have crashed drastically over the past couple of weeks, and it does not look like a sound investment anymore, I would not recommend getting into the mining game right now.

However I am hopefull that Ether price will recover from the rock bottom it has hit. Zcash may not, but with block rewards growing it can gain profitability nonetheless. A lot of people are buying these coins right now betting on their future. Lets see if things improve in the next couple of months.

That is a good mining rig you got there and good job buddy on building the rig ,i would like to know a few things, whats the normal electricity charges you could get if you are mining with 4 cards. just want to know to make some calculation to know whether it is feasible for me to get the cards.

Assume around 100W per card with my settings, so 450W for the total system factoring in PSU efficiency drop. That would translate to about 11 Units of electricity (KWH) per day. Do the math based on your electricity costs.
How much are we able to mine with these and as per the calculation right now i am using around 800 units per month and an additional 450 units for the mining rig could be a lot more and will it be profitable for me or just a waste of space. whats your genuine opinion about it as i am not having experience running the rigs.

about 25.5 MH/s per card, so 4 cards give you around 102 MH/s. use any ethereum profitability calculator from there.

Leave Claymore the fuck alone!

The more you bitch and pester him about when he's going to release v9 (or any version), the longer he has to spend checking and replying to your bullshit messages, the less time he has to spend developing the new version.

Leave him alone! Just be thankful you have ANY working version that's making you money!
7 fucking posts a you think you have the right to tell members what they can ask you silly twat lol
Your lack of courtesy and grammar is disturbing, small man. If you have something to oppose - do it the right way!
you have know clue who I am and to make judgement on a post on a forum tells me everything ,there is no problem with my grammar but we all make that odd mistakes no big deal,I asked a question and apparently upset a few people here as you think I don't have the right to ask when next version will be out,Claymore does not need you or anyone els to answer for him and in doing that you show how pathetic you are.

You can ask questions, by all means you can, just try not to be so cancerous, that kinda hate spreads and ruins communities. Be nice. Here, have a lolipop.

So whats your location / electricity price?!
Location is Tbilisi and the electricity price is classified Cheesy 0.05$

I didn't even know Georgia was a country untill I googled Tbilisi. Cool setup bro.

Good luck mate ! I'm european so i cannot buy any of your rigs.
Which mobo is the one in the picture ? I've never seen a 7 -> 1x PCIE

MSI Z97 Gaming 5 - the ONLY recent gen motherboard that supports 7 GPU's. There are some Z77 and Z87 series motherboards that support 7 as well, but they are pretty much extinct. Read up in this forum, there are some posts from owners of those.
Anyways, I'd say the price/perf sweet spot is a 5 GPU rig, I worked out the Cost per Hash/Sol and its higher with 5 GPU setups coz components are cheaper and easier to find. Also GPU Shack has an excellent bundle that is currently on discount as well. If I didn't have to pay international shipping, and customs at import, I would have stocked up on those bundles.

697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Maximum Cards Per Rig (Win 10) on: December 04, 2016, 01:21:16 PM
Lets say we have a board which easily supports 7 PCI-E connectors thus 7 cards. But now the question is, what happens in case we take 7 PCI-E multipliers from 1 to 3 and turn our 7 motherboard PCI-E slots into 21 slots. Will Windows 10 and the board detect all of them? If not then what is the maximum achievable config?

First, you are limited by the PCIe lanes that the motherboard/cpu can offer, and skylake sucks there.
Then you are limited by the number of GPU's a consumer grade OS can support, which, for Windows 10 is 8.
Then you are limited by the IRQ addressing of the hardware in the OS which is what causes issues for people using PCIe 1 to 3 splitters and over 7 cards.

Also, even IF you had 21 slots, you would need a 3000W powers supply atleast and that alone would cost more than 3 sets of motherboards, CPU's and 1000W power supplies.
I have personally found 5 cards to be the sweet spot in terms of VFM. Or if you want to maximize resale and use current gen hardware, go for 4 card setups.

I created a reboot.bat file in the claymore folder With this command.

Shutdown / r / f / t 1

change the reboot bat to just :

shutdown /r /t 5

I think you are putting spaces after the backslash, and that's causing the problem.

I think there is something wrong with Ethereum and Claymore's miner...
Next time before posting FALSE info please read the thread.

YOUR GPU IS GETTING 35 MH/S BECAUSE YOU HAVE UNSTABLE MEMORY TIMINGS.

This is actually not a good thing because you are producing many memory errors and most of your shares will be rejected. There is no CONSPIRIACY!

This has happened before and you need to lower your mem clocks.

Still, there is no reasonable explanation for his results provided he does indeed have the settings mentioned. What is even weirder is that his numbers match poolside. In case of unstable tight timings, your miner may report a higher hash than you get at the pool, but in his case poolside matches his local score so it does not appear to be unstable memory timing either. And the screenshot shows hes been running for 47 hours so thats long enough.

What I would like to see maybe is just that one card running for 6 or so hours and the poolside hashing rates. And then Polarios Bios Editor screenshots of your Bios. Also, Genoils miner results on that card.
700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Prebuilt Eth/Zec Mining Rigs in Bangalore, India on: December 04, 2016, 08:47:53 AM
Hi All,

I've been into mining for a while, started with Ethereum in August this year post the introduction of the RX 470 cards, which is the first time mining at India's temps and electricity costs made sense.
I have already almost recovered my initial investment, and am bullish on the future of crypto currency mining.
I grew my personal setup to 1KH/s at which point I hit the electrical capacity of my current apartment. So I began building rigs for other people. I have sold a few Rigs in Bangalore and in Delhi.
I use Bios Mods and Voltage tweaks to keep power consumption to under 100W per card while getting 25.5 Mh/s (Eth) or 170 Sol/s (Zec).

I use ONLY Sapphire RX 470 4GB cards, and ONLY Corsair Gold PSU's. I have an assortment of aluminium/wood open air frames for 4,5 or 7 card setups. I also have larger dual frames, which can hold two of these setups in one frame for 8, 10 or 14 cards. I prepare these setups per the target power capacity and electrical plug quality. I do not recommend anything over a 10 card setup for a single outlet, unless its a high capacity Power outlet.
My cost structure is simple : 25k per card. So a 4 Card Rig is 100K, a 5 Card Rig is 125K, a 7 card Rig is 175K and so on. These prices are non negotiable unless you are placing a large order, in which case I may be able to negotiate a better price from my supplier and pass that benefit on to you.
The only payment option is direct bank transfer, and you will be transferring money directly to my supplier. He will issue all component bills in your name, and future warranty related claims are to be settled directly with him so I suggest you keep the bills safe. Once my supplier receives the payment and confirms it to me, I will get to work on the Rig, and usually take 2 days post money transfer to get the Rig ready.

For this price I offer a set of compatible parts assembled in a frame with Windows 10 and the relevant Mining software and settings pre installed, and setup to mine automatically when powered on, and to resume mining incase of power failure. The Rigs are pretty much plug and play as long as you plug in power and an ethernet cable. I also offer WiFi connectivity at an additional cost of 1k per rig. Here are some images for reference :

Please bear in mind, I do not earn much from this hobby, and do it primarily because it interests me, and i'd like to see the Indian mining scene grow.

Availability/sourcing issues mean that some components keep changing, but here are the common staples :
Sapphire RX 470 4GB OC ( Ref  design )
Corsair CS750M or RMi1000 power supply
4GB Ram ( DDR3 or DDR4 depending on setup )
120GB SSD
CPU + Motherboard - keeps changing based on availability
Phillips surge protector
Open Air Wood/Aluminium frame

For an additional cost, I will provide smart power strips (smarteefi) for remote management.
I will give you a brief lesson on Mining if you purchase a rig from me, but I do not offer post sales support.
I do not ship to other locations ( shipping a few Rigs to Delhi taught me its too much of a hassle ) and I sell locally in Bangalore Only.
If interested, drop me a msg at 8971925897 mentioning that you read this at bitcointalk forum, and I will respond. please do not call, as I do not receive calls from unknown numbers.
