coins-e doesn't have them trading yet.  why the hell is everyone posting their link?

because they'll get $$ from referrals

Go to %APPDATA%\MaxCoin\maxcoin.conf
Update this file so that it matches this https://github.com/Max-Coin/clients/blob/master/example-maxcoin.conf file, with the username and password set to whatever you want.

Open the terminal (Windows key + R, type cmd) and traverse to the directory that the .exe file is stored in (type cd *directoryname*)

Type maxcoind.exe --daemon

And the miner will begin mining, keep an eye on the %APPDATA%\MaxCoin\debug.log. This will let you know the status of miner.

Flound. Not a fan of the new "top 5" format.  If you dedicate mine a coin like I do, if it's not in the top 5 you can't see if it's doing Ok or if it's tanking....

I'm preparing a new summary page that has all the coins in sortable tables.

I agree with johndec so having a new page with all coins is a great news

I got it..!! Finalle after a few hours of testing, updates etc etc..
I switched the cards.. so now i have the 5870 in a x16 riser and the 6950 in a x1-x16 riser.. and the 2 cards are detected!
Using the A1 B17 short too

Gonna try to add another 5870 tomorrow!

Thanks all for your help

Those instructions are valid for a x1 to x16 connector too?

thanks for the answers everyone..
I did try a lot of things..
I updated the mobo bios to a newer version (1703)
Uninstalled catalyst drivers and reinstalled.. still the same "unknow device" on the 2nd card

I tested with only 1 card in the x16 slot= it's detected and i can mine with it
If i switch the same card in the x1 slot only, i get bios beep error codes.. (I tested in the x4 slot with another riser and i get the same results..)

So im completely out of ideas now.. still trying to find if its a software or hardware problem..

For now, i  tested  with catalyst v 11.6 and 13.1.. may try other version.. but i dont think i'll work..

Nice!

I got an ASUS M2N-E with only 1 PCI-E X16 running a 5830 and i'm thinking about using a riser (x4 to x16 i guess) and add a 6950

Received my risers.. and tried to add the 5850 card .. Windows don't like it.. it's listed as :"unknown device"  in devide manager..
and i tried to reinstall drivers, and even short the pci-e bus pins .. dunno what to do to make it work.. Sad

I have found that some older boards just don't like to see newer video cards 58xx and higher.  They would work with a 54xx card and be fine but that would be near pointless for mining.

That same board is able to see the 6950 that's already installed...
And it can see the 5850 too if installed in the x16 slot..

Very cool. I like it. This will make it easier, but there's still the problem of the rig being turned on.

Even without the gpu's hasing away, in idle mode, it is too loud.

Can I tell windows 7 to shutdown at 8.00 on every weekday ? How ?

I guess you could  schedule a task to enter "sleep" mode and another to "wake up"
