Hello evergreen, im just a little bit confused about the wallet. if ever my computer is broken, how can i used the backup wallet.dat? let's see I need to download again the wallet and after that? how can I recover my coins using that back up file.. coz I can't see the IMPORT button. thanks once again..
To backup, simply keep a copy of your wallet.dat file in a safe place. Your wallet.dat file can be found on Windows within %APPDATA%\EverGreenCoin\ or otherwise stated, C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\EverGreenCoin\ On Mac OS X it can be found within /Users/YOUR USERNAME HERE/Library/Application Support/EverGreenCoin/ on Linux it can be found withing ~/.evergreencoin/ or otherwise stated, /home/YOUR USERNAME HERE/.evergreencoin/ In the event your current computer becomes none functional, your wallet.dat file could be used on your replacement computer. Storing your private key in a safe location is another way to achieve this safety and has a similar recovery method but, making a copy of the wallet.dat is slightly easier. For example, I use 2 usb memory stick and a portable hdd. I have lost some bitcoins 3 years ago and since then I have 5 backups for the wallet file:) Hope it helps |

As the EGC marketing director, I'd like to know if there are any new and different ways we could potentially promote our community. Remember, this is not just about cryptocurrencies. It's also about helping find solutions for ending deforestation and funding environmentally friendly mining projects. Obviously, as we grow and expand these projects that we take on can have better financial backing. My question is this; How would you want to see our community promoted and where?
A platform where one can buy shares in environmentally responsible and renewable projects. So we can place our staking egc into a project and get paid back as investors, or at least beneficiaries of the projects. For example, a windfarm which sells power to a community, where shareholders are paid dividends of the profit. Or a WVO biodiesel plant. That's a great business strategy idea and one that we've tossed around a little bit. What I'm looking for is ideas for promotion of the coin itself. How do we get our name out there? What age groups have we not reached? What age groups should we be advertising to? Things like that. How can we spread the word about our project? Well, basically there needs to be a reason for people to have it. In all honesty, renewable projects, while being a good idea, aren't overly sexy. So in order to make it attractive, it needs to be usable. Think of how this has been done in the past. -I heard about bitcoin when I heard about the Silk Road. But it was first used to buy pizza. -Dogecoin was made popular through silliness, then Nascar. -Darkcoin/DASH was popular because you could buy guns with it without being caught. EGC needs something that sets it apart, with a renewable/green angle. For example, I always want to buy plants and seeds as I'm a keen vegetable gardner. If there was a seed or botany website I could spend EGC at, I would. A web based head shop/dispensary/health shop would be a good place to spend EGC. An organic products shop which sells FDA approved products like http://www.heavensentgourmet.co.nz/ and products like http://www.ecopaper.com/ would be cool, especially if discounts were given for spending EGC instead of paypal. Those are some ideas. With regard to sexy, while any currency can be used in illegal transactions, that is not the image we want to make for EGC. Nor silliness. However; I do personally know several farms that are setup in this business model, do ship internationally, accept crypto, and are waiting for EGC to be added to a payment processing gateway so they can. So, renewable energy projects your company runs will produce energy which is dumped back into the grid, or stored. This value is underwritten by RECs which you will trade with other companies, in exchange for money(EGC, BTC, $ or GBP). I think this is a great idea in theory, but is there any way of also trading ECG for carbon credits or something a little more accessible to the everyman? while the idea of the solar staker looks good to me, I think that a single solar array powering multiple devices (including PCs) is much more convenient and efficient.
one PC consumes at least 400 W, so you need something like 2x 250w mono-crystalline solar panel, add the solar charger, the converter, and you easily pay at lest $500 you didn't get the point. in order to power that single staker you need a solar panel, a charger, a battery, a power adapter... if you want two stakers it's all doubled. much better to make a single solar panel array and power everything you can with it. it's more efficient. Yeah, I get it in the first place, and you are right, having one bigger solar panel is more convenient and efficient. But we are thinking to a much smaller mobile staker ( not a pc)- This way, we can have the price for the whole device somewhere at ~ $100. If you have a pc, you can run the whole thing on the grid. So having a a bigger solar panel involves more batteries to store all the power, and a converter.( So it can hold multiple mobile stalkers) However I agree with you, and would make sense in having a larger solar panel and share it with your neighbor or having all build up as modules and buy 2 or 3 devices and build up a EGC Powerpack for example( more power, more mobile stakers). We are are basically selling the energy to our neighbor, clean energy, that we actually produce, and in doing so we are recognizing the local environmental benefits and giving a price signal to the market for the real value of renewables at the community level. In this model we can transact and price energy with Microgrid neighbors directly.We believe that it becomes somehow possible to imagine an entirely new business model emerging for utilities where you can earn from transaction fees to support this market and infrastructure. Not to mention that beyond finance, the EGC blockchain can provide a full audit trail of a piece of data's origin in both time and place: generated amount of power, traded power, etc. In this way, a blockchain can act as a provenance protocol for data across disparate semi-trusting organizations.
