6801  Other / Meta / Re: Multiply Account? on: May 03, 2018, 05:37:46 PM
It's no secret that most people in this forum, intend to seek revenue on this forum. One of them is by following the Signature Campaign. Maybe that's not something wrong, but the wrong is the person who misuses this forum by creating a double account. As a result a lot of spam and shitpost in this forum. Angry

What do you think? Is multiply account the wrong thing? How do we stop it? Does the system in this forum have anything to change? Huh

The real problem in the forum are not the multiple accounts, but the multiple (infinite) shitposters and scammers. Just take a walk in the Bitcoin Discussion board, and you will discover how the 99% of the answers to any topic are not related at all, but single lines with no content in a search of gaining activity. The same on many other boards.
Besides, the alts are also in many "farming" activities, sending merits from one to another in order to rank up. But there are also people with alts accounts making some productive activities in here. So the problem, once more, is not how many accounts do you have but how you use them, and with what end.
6802  Other / Meta / Re: Generation of spendable merit on: May 03, 2018, 05:31:59 PM
How is sMerit created for members who aren't merit sources?
Currently, the merit I have is from my activity over the past year, what happens when i spend all of this sMerit?

This information is all over the forum, in threads related to merit, in many questions answered... every couple of merit you receive, you will get a sendable merit (smerit), just read the rules.
6803  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Regulations for a payment gateway on: May 03, 2018, 02:41:22 PM

Thanks, very interesting to read. Although it tends to support "Bitcoin isn't real money" overall.

Yes, of course, If I remember it correctly, what they say is that bitcoin can't be considered as money (yet) due to its volatility in the market. To me, it makes sense, for the money should be used as a mechanism of change between products or as a way of getting commodities. If you can't determinate at what price are you going to sell any commodity (due to the volatility of the coin you want to use), it is normal for Bitcoin to can't be considered as money (yet). Nevertheless, in the article, there are many terms of discussion, as I understand, the whole text it seems to be looking for a way of introducing btc into the economy, which means good news.
6804  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Regulations for a payment gateway on: May 02, 2018, 03:00:15 PM
For the moment, it seems unclear the future regulations in the US.
Maybe this is useful for you to read the 2018 US Joint economy report, here: https://www.congress.gov/115/crpt/hrpt596/CRPT-115hrpt596.pdf
The chapter 9 is fully dedicated to the crypto world and the wills or regulations.
6805  Economy / Economics / Re: A Trump + Merkel ban would mean nothing on: May 02, 2018, 02:49:48 PM
ption.

Governments can't kill Bitcoin, but they can definitely slow down adoption especially if it's the US government.[hypothetically]

Totally agree. This is impossible to make a total ban on something decentralized, but, regarding mass adoption, regulations are crucial. If US and EU decide to ban the use of Bitcoin it is going to be difficult for the people to use it as a common tool, more likely they will prefer to stay away from it. Thinking about a small business, for example, as much as you want to implement a payment-bitcoin -method in your business, if the state you belong to says NO, then it is going to be difficult for you to make it real.
Regulations are necessary if we want crypto to become mainstream, but not crucial for its actual use. Nevertheless, nor EU, nor US seems to have any intention of banning the coin.
6806  Other / Meta / Re: Let's see what is the condition now.. on: May 02, 2018, 02:37:50 PM
How many of these threads do we need? There's already dozens asking the same or just complaining about merit. And I'm not sure what the poll is going to achieve as a poll is useless here.

I'm afraid it is not going to stop any soon, for many new users are joining the forum each day with the only goal of earning some cents. Maybe this is the time for creating a "Merit" board in which they can satiate their infinitely necessity of complaining about merit.
6807  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Careful with Coinmarketcap on: May 02, 2018, 02:31:16 PM
Coinmarketcap, under my point of view, is meant to obtain a "general vision", but if you are into trading you always will need to use various websites instead of just one.

For the public in general, CMC is a great tool, informative and clear, and gives a good panorama, but if you want to specialize in trading, nor CMC, nor one exchange should be your font of information, but a combination of every piece of information you can get.
Regarding the probable influence of the "will" of setting wrong prices, I don't know, I just believe this is a "public" and a non-sophisticated tool for general information purposes only. This is not a professional one, and no trader should base any desition on it, but I get your point and this is a nice advice, for many users take too much serious the information in there..
6808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS AND DIFFICULTIES YOU FACE ? on: May 02, 2018, 02:22:45 PM
To be a mess.
Security issues can be tricky at the very beginning, so, as a piece of advice, be really careful, for when I was a newbie it took me time to correctly understood how important is to set a high-security standard regarding wallets and to always have a back up of every wallet you open.  I have never been a tidy man, so my information was tossed everywhere and it was really difficult for me to find anything in my own mess. So it is one of the most difficult lesson I've learn, if you want to success, stop being a mess! Tongue
6809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brand New on: May 02, 2018, 02:15:48 PM
Hi I am new in this site. My friend told me to try this forum because all transactions, freelancing, trade and etc. can be made and possible here. Please tell and help me how and where would I start with?. Thanks.

Maybe your friend didn't fully understand the essence of the forum, for this is meant for sharing and finding knowledge, experience and some advice regarding the matter you mentioned. There are many threads in the forum that can be helping for you to understand how to trade, or even in the section Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Services you will find some job opportunities.
The forum, I insist, is a place to learn, not only to earn. Nevertheless, you will find much useful information in here that can help you to develop a high level regarding crypto and many tools that will help you to understand how to trade, for instance.
Welcome on board, and never forget to read the rules before posting, each board has its own rules, normally positioned on the top.
Best of luck.
6810  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BitCoin Futures on: May 02, 2018, 02:06:15 PM

There are those that believe the price of gold and silver are held artificially low by the futures market. I have not looked into this closely enough to have an opinion, but in theory, why would some one pay $5000 an ounce for physical gold if they can buy a contract for it at $2000/ounce?  The same mechanism could come into play with Bitcoin. Conspiracy theorist might say this is the banks getting control over the bitcoin value without having to even get into the game.

But there are other ways it could play out. If bitcoin keeps increasing in value, people writing futures contracts (Sellers) would lose their shirt selling contracts too low, so they would have to raise their price which further supports the market price of bitcoin and may even drive it up.

And, if the contracts do not include a clause to settle in cash, demanding actual delivery on contracts could cause quite a rush of purchasing to fulfill contracts which could drive the price insanely high.

And what would happen if a large number of contracts that are not fulfillable are written and buyers demand delivery? Could it break the futures market? (I doubt they would create contracts that could accomplish this).

So how do you see this playing out?

That's why setting contracts is never going to be intelligent, too much scamming in there.
Ok, let's see. If I have correctly understood, you are talking about selling contracts instead of bitcoin (for, as long as I can read you are talking just about bitcoin)? What do you exactly mean by that? People buy and sell BTC, yet there are many exchangers in which you don't really own the bitcoin, is that what you meant?

I can't see exactly your point, due to the misuse of the concept of crypto, I believe. Why should I buy a contract instead of a bitcoin by myself? Because of the lower price? But isn't it just a crystal-clear scam? Gold and silver are too different from the crypto world because those happen to be centralized.
Are you talking about loans? For instance, when I ask for a loan in order to buy a house? Do you think it is going to be possible to get a Bitcoin loan, as in a bank? Normally, if you settle a contract related to obtaining some material, this is going to be stipulated since the very beginning the prices of the material, and also the "normal" fluctuation they are going to suffer (more or less based on inflation and so, as a 2-5%). I don't think this is possible in bitcoin, at least for the moment, due to its volatility. Even when material prices can change, the loan you ask for when trying to build a business, for example, is a contract you get directly with banks. So you are responsible for making right your maths and for choosing correctly how much are you going to ask in order to fulfill your project. Regarding Bitcoin, you maybe can obtain a loan, but this is more probable you will seek for a loan in order to trade or invest, rather to a life-project.
For the moment at least, it seems difficult to set a long-term contract by usgin bitcoin, as a loan for a house or a bussines. Also if someone offers me a contract instead of a bitcoin I will say no, for it seems as a scam.

But maybe I don't fully get your point, if you can, explain further, for it seems truly interesting.

Read and learn, be patient and humble.
Some fonts of knowledge:
- Bitcoin wiki: you will find in there many useful information, and even son books and stuff to download: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page
- Andrea's Antonopoulos "Mastering Bitcoin" book, a very useful and understandable resource: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mastering_Bitcoin
- There are many many useful posts in here with, for sure, will help you a lot. Just explore the forum, and never forget to read the rules.

- A place with capitalization to see the different crypto coin value: https://coinmarketcap.com/
- A website with news related to crypto: https://www.coindesk.com/

There are, also, many YouTube videos, even few interviews to Antonopoulos, which I strongly recommend for you to see.

Another user left you some rules before. Take them as a good advice, but also as an opinion (I disagree with many). Try to learn enough and to build your own opinion before investing.
6812  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia puts under control the crypto on: May 01, 2018, 04:40:00 PM

Main point - all the transactions of crypto-currencies passing through purses that are not controlled by the government will be illegal. And access to regular exchanges, with a probability of 99% will be blocked.

If taxes are taken from any transaction between purses (input and output of money from the exchange, currency exchange, investments), this will seriously complicate the development of crypto currency in Russia.

Yes, I'm afraid I understood it well (I don't read Russian, but tried my best with the online translator)... it seems to be a strong attempt of centralizing the USE of the crypto, so the Russian government has whole access to the information of their users. Even so, recently they asked Telegram to share all the information, as well as whats app, and so, even telegram was banned.

Seems that Russia surveillance is far worst that I was imaging.
Are you Russian? How is the common feeling about all this new laws?
6813  Other / Archival / Re: EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 01, 2018, 04:17:51 PM
There are already emerging some master degree in universities where you can learn about the crypto world, the Blockchain technology and so.
But, I'm afraid many people are based on a misunderstood principle while approaching the crypto world. I mean, since the last December hype, there is a common idea: you can get rich fast (and furiously) by buying some crypto. This also has led some students to ask for loans in order to get into the crypto world. This is completely wrong, for many of them are going to lose their money.
I think the first step we need to accomplish is related to erasing the idea of the crypto world as a fast way to earn money, for this is completely wrong and is making people to commit many mistakes.
Sadly, few are truly interested in the whole system behind this new technology, and that's the biggest problem. You just need to take a look at the Begginers&help section in here: most of the newbies are not asking about learning or understanding the crypto technology, but about how to earn some money here (beg for merits is the same, from my point of view). So, to be honest, I see few people really interested in the technology itself, but on the possibility of making some money.
Now, the technology is not only about earning but about creating a whole new tech system of money, in which people get to be free of banks and the current economic system. This is huge in the sense of human evolution, but, sadly, humans seem to have no interest in it.

For those who are truly interested in learning, in making a research, there are already many useful contents, not only on the internet but also in Universities. But trying to educate those who are not willing to learn seems almost impossible to me.
6814  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about the Cifuentes case? on: May 01, 2018, 03:57:29 PM
Well, what Cifuentes "supposedly" did was to get a Master degree without truly finishing it, if I am not wrong.
This is just another case of the so common mafia in the universities, which is happening worldwide, I'm afraid. For example, in Mexico, the President was accused of plagiarism and nothing was done, even when his grade thesis was a copy-pasted crap. He never renounced, neither complained in front of any jury or something; in other words, he never had to pay for this and the case was totally forgotten thanks to a distracting-campaign.
At least in Spain Cifuentes went out, and it talks well about your country.
6815  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-30] Someone wrote a kids' book to explain bitcoin and blockchain on: May 01, 2018, 03:49:23 PM
Well, this is really useful, not only for children, but also for them who barely can speak English, they can understand it and, by the way, learn some basics concepts in the language.
I think this is really useful to share the book in the Begginers & Help board so they can get some basics and learn how to explain themselves in a more accurate way.
6816  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I became a victim of the fraud on: May 01, 2018, 03:23:49 PM
Well, I don't even think this to be now a matter of giving back the money, but of protecting yourself. I'm afraid, it seems to be some kind of scam in which not only the client but also your boss is implied.
So, two questions:
- Do you have a formal contract with your boss, meaning a legal one in which your activities are detailed?
- Do you have all the messages, something related to the spending-money activity and something that can explain why do you received and sent this amount?

Because, looking at what happened, you don't need a hacker, but a lawyer.
6817  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CoinMarketCap lauched an iOS app today - Check it out! on: May 01, 2018, 03:16:11 PM

Sounds nice, I think the most interesting feature is the "watchlist", for you can follow your coins. Also is kind of amazing that Coinmarketcap is 5 years old already!!
In general, sound good. Here there is a video-review of the app, in case you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAKgJ_FCchs
6818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misconception of “High Quality” on: May 01, 2018, 02:54:36 PM
This is far too personal, but I agree with you, mostly. To me, something with a "high quality" needs to be efficient: efficient in telling a story, for instance; efficient in teaching something, entertaining, whatever. But, also, need to be something original and, if possible, make me reflect, push me into a reflexion which leads me to a new idea. This is when something is really useful: when makes you think, when, after reading, you can go to think for a while and take conclusions, those words that can't make you stay indifferent.

No matter the topic, a good poster will always be capable of having others attention and to catch them in his/her speech, for this person needs to be a great story-teller.
6819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie and New beginnings on: May 01, 2018, 02:40:49 PM
Hi there!
As a newbie from this community is was wondering what am i going to participate?
Airdrops? Referals? Or Campaigns? Please help me guide in here i just wanted to learn like you guys.
Thanks  a lot.

Instead of earning few cents (being a newbie you're not going to earn much), why don't you focus on learning? The forum is not meant to be a "free money place", but a site where you can discuss, learn from others, even get some help if you have any kind of problem, etc.
If you come here with the only goal of earning some money, then probably you are not interested in creating some good contributions to the site, which is the correct approach to the community.
Consider learning as much as you can first, this is free.
6820  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is a proof of brain concept on: May 01, 2018, 02:15:49 PM
Higher ranking users kept saying we should shut up and stop ranting about the merit system but they did not experience it in the first place. Sure, having a merit system may reflect on the capability of a user to create useful posts, but how about the responsibility of those who own sMerit? Who has the eagerness to read replies in a thread and give merit? It's actually too hard and a matter of luck. No matter how you construct posts, if no one who has sMerit will recognize it, you can't get one.

No, man. What JC is speaking about is just that: he, as many of us, spend time reading and searching for useful posts, for something that contributes us in something, either because this is an interesting insight or an informative post, etc. There are many sMerits to give up but few to deserve it. Also, if you take a look at the most merited ones, some of them are relatively new users, as DdmrDdmr, for instance. He had obtained more than a hundred merits in less than 2 months.

Maybe you are right in one point: the luck, but this is also related to the matter of being "wise". If you post in spam sections, or in mega threads, you are unlikely going to earn any Merit. Just learn from others and be patient. JC here is making some good points. Read to him carefully.

Besides, taking a look at your posting activity, this is the third time you copy-paste the very same words in three different threads. Copy-pasting is against the forum policy, so it is going to be difficult for you to earn any merit.
