6801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn About A Fellow Bitcoiner on: May 26, 2019, 06:23:48 AM
Hello people, I am interested about learning about people within the community of Bitcoin and Blockchain. So I have some questions to learn more about you. Feel free to share your experiences.

1. How has bitcoin/blockchain changed your life?
2. What kind of work do you do?
3. What kind of work do you wish you could do?
4. What do you wish to see bitcoin become?

1. I was one of those hamsters running in a wheel, before I learned about Bitcoin. I had a 9to5 job and I was busy paying off debt and making new debt. I then started a little bit of mining and also trading in Alt coins and some signature and bounty campaigns and it opened my mind to several other business and investment possibilities.

2. Still in the 9to5 job. <IT> and some entrepreneurial projects on the side.  Wink

3. I would like to own my own chain of restaurants based on a unique concept that I think would be very successful in my country. I am working towards that goal now, but I would need a $100 000 Bitcoin price, before I can launch my first restaurant.

4. Well, a $100 000 price would help a lot, but I would basically want to see it in every brick n mortal shop and ecommerce site on the Internet.

Hope that help a little to know me.  Wink
6802  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-23] 'BTC Is Not Bitcoin’ Says Craig Wright on: May 25, 2019, 04:28:20 PM
Who cares what the biggest snake oil salesman in the world are saying? The guy obviously has a God complex and he thinks everyone should fall for his nonsense. If he says the sun is shining out side, then go out and look for yourself, because it might not be true.

We will see what will happen with this chap when someone challenge his claims in court regarding the Copy right claims for Satoshi's white paper. I think he will probably face some jailtime soon, but that is just my own opinion.  Tongue
6803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India on Bitcoin: Will the Newly Elected Indian Government Pass Crypto-Friendly on: May 25, 2019, 04:17:50 PM
I expect a 100% ban on all Crypto currencies, because India has not been open-minded about this technology and the previous corrupt government did not want to have anything to do with it.  Roll Eyes

India need technologies like this, because they have some brilliant software developers and something like this has huge potential for creativity and innovation from these developers. The government will be the stumbling block for innovation in their country.  Angry
6804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Old Hacker news discussion about Bitcoin on: May 25, 2019, 04:13:37 PM
OP, that was not ignorance.  Roll Eyes Most people are immediately pessimistic about new things, even more when they do not understand the technology. It was also a time when projects like this was done in the dark corners of the Internet and when everything was hush hush.  Wink

A lot of people got arrested for creating their own currencies back in the day, so some pessisim should have been expected. So, be honest.. would you have reacted any different if it was you back then?  Roll Eyes
6805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US vs China Trade War: Bitcoin Next Victim? on: May 25, 2019, 04:07:18 PM
Huawei can only blame themselves for this, because they tried to hide microscopic circuitry inside the equipment that they manufactured to spy on whomever used their technology.  Wink

The US is not entirely innocent too, because they did the same thing with the exploits that they imbedded into the firmware of their Cisco equipment a few years ago. It is only political games that are part of the US trade wars with China and this will soon blow over, when the US realize that they need the minerals that are only sourced from Chinese mines.  Tongue
6806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DID SATOSHI EVER THOUGHT TO MAKE BITCOIN A MAINSTREAM CURRENCY? on: May 25, 2019, 04:02:32 PM
Satoshi's vision for Bitcoin is not a secret, he wanted this technology to be a alternative P2P payment option for people who got fed up with the current Fiat and Banking system. He showed his motive in the Genesys block, when he entered the link to the news paper clipping about another government bailout for Banks during the financial crisis in 2008/2009.

I think it grew much faster than what he/she ever anticipated and he also went into hiding because he knew what would have happened to him/her if they ever found him/her.  Roll Eyes
6807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 61-year Old Chinese Grandma Convicted For Stealing Electricity To Mine Bitcoin on: May 25, 2019, 03:57:47 PM
Since when is there a age restriction on being a criminal? Old people can also commit crimes but it is just less common, because they had loads of time to learn lessons in life to prevent incidents like this.

A lot of people commit crimes out of necessity and I cannot see if this granny was doing this to survive or if she just did this as an experiment.  Roll Eyes In any way, she falls under the same laws as anyone else.  Tongue
6808  Economy / Economics / Re: Toronto Man Scammed Over $2,000 by McDonald’s Mobile App on: May 24, 2019, 06:27:04 AM
The thief will most probably die of serious medical conditions after he ate all those hamburgers. The 2004 documentary Super Size Me followed documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock as he ate three meals a day at the fast-food chain for 30 days. He gained almost 25 pounds and was told he suffered from irreversible heart damage. Source : https://www.cosmopolitan.com/food-cocktails/a9231619/mcdonalds-for-five-days-straight/

It just shows you that every payment method has exploitable vulnerabilities and that centralized payment methods have the same problems, because human interaction is part of the problem.  Wink
6809  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 🎮 New Crypto Project 🎮 on: May 24, 2019, 06:19:08 AM
I do not know why people want to go up against huge competition like Enjin Coin (ENJ), when they have already secured a long list of games that are using their coin.

What is making your coin unique and different to what other similar coins are offering the potential investor out there at the moment? Any investor will look at how much competition is out there and if you are offering something that the competition is not offering.  Wink

Please highlight the features of this coin that sets it apart from the completion.   Huh
6810  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-22] US Copyright Office: Craig Wright Not Recognized as Satoshi on: May 24, 2019, 06:12:09 AM
I do not agree with OP that the Copyright claim has no influence, because it has huge economic influence if nobody is allowed to post the Whitepaper on their website without Craig Wright's permission. You also have to pay royalties and be liable for financial penalties if you use copyrighted material without the owners permission.  Angry

Yes, it might look like just another Craig Wright stunt, but it has serious consequences if he succeeds.  Angry
6811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IRS Plans to Issue Guidance on CryptoCurrency Taxation on: May 24, 2019, 06:04:08 AM
I think the IRS already indicated that they do not see Crypto currencies as a currency, but rather as a tradable commodity and that is why they use Capital gains as the tax tool to generate tax income for the government. They also do not want some virtual currency competing with the US Dollar as a reserve currency.

So just expect them to elaborate more on that stance and you will not be disappointed when they give the details. The SEC did the same with the ICO's regarding the definition of Securities.  Tongue
6812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 24, 2019, 05:55:59 AM
This might sound controversial, but I would like it if the authorities could search through all those data and find massive criminal operations and/or people who were responsible for major hacks on exchanges and if they could be brought to justice now.

It is unfortunate for the people who simply used the service to protect their financial privacy, but lessons needs to be learned and sometimes innocent people gets burnt in the process.  Roll Eyes

They opened a whole Pandora's box with this seizure.  Tongue
6813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Steven Wright nominated for an Ig Nobel Prize in Economics on: May 24, 2019, 05:48:27 AM
You know you have serious mental problems when you start believing your own lies.  Roll Eyes

Craig Wright has pushed people's buttons for many years now and I think he pushed it too far now with the Copyright claim on the Bitcoin whitepaper. You do not need a big set of balls to lie about things like this, you only need to be stupid.

Any false copyright claims will result in some jail time and that is exactly what is going to happen to him soon.  Wink
6814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only 1.6% (!!!) of USD Bitcoin trading volume is real. 98.4% dollar volume fake! on: May 24, 2019, 05:39:59 AM
The actual problem is the fake volume that needs to be generated by the people who listed these Stablecoins. You have to remember that crypto exchanges needs a minimum amount of volume from coins that are listed on their platform to make it viable and profitable for them to list these coins.

So, if a coin does not meet the minimum volume of transactions, the exchange might have to de-list it to make room for other coins which has the potential to generate more income for them. A lot of the transactions are faked to keep the stable coins listed on the exchanges.  Angry
6815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition to remove Craig Wright's name from Bitcoin Whitepaper's copyright on: May 24, 2019, 05:31:40 AM
Anyone can dispute his claims at a minimal cost, so it is not a big issue. I still think the heavy weights in the industry should stand together and file a lawsuit against Craig Wright and the community should help to fund the cost of this case to crush any rumours that Craig Wright <FakeToshi> is Satoshi Nakamoto.

He will just go on and on, until the law stop him and he has money to burn on expensive lawyers.  Angry
6816  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 23, 2019, 06:49:00 AM
I hope this Bestmixer event will trigger new innovation in decentralization of these services or even side-chain services or just counter measures to prevent sites like this being taken down.

Financial privacy in Crypto currency is of utmost importance and it is nothing more than the anonymity that cash offers people. If every transaction or ownership of coins were public knowledge, people might get hurt. <targeted by hackers, abductors, economic criminals etc.>  Angry Angry

Why should we have less financial privacy than people who use fiat currencies? <Cash>  Huh
6817  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: May 23, 2019, 06:39:23 AM
Never even thought that Bran Stark would take it, but it shows you that it is always a good idea to put something small into the options with the lower odds.  Roll Eyes

In any way, it is nice that Freebitco.in is targeting popular events that are not linked to Sports betting, I would just like to see more eSport being supported by them. <Gaming has a huge audience and I think it is the perfect target market for technologically inclined people like us.>  Wink
6818  Economy / Economics / Re: The Fed Never Calls The Bubble A Bubble... Why Not? on: May 23, 2019, 06:31:23 AM
Why would the FED acknowledge their own mistakes? The financial system was designed to protect the interest of the top 10% of this world, not the interest of the 90% of people that are running around in the little mouse wheel.  Angry

Knowledge is power and they know how to manipulate this system and how to warn the top 10% before things goes down. This is why you never listen to the rich people's public comments, because they will never divulge the truth. <You should find out what they are doing with their own wealth and copy them.>  Wink
6819  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-22] Dutch Authorities Shut Down Bestmixer on: May 23, 2019, 06:25:11 AM
This is going to trigger new innovation in this sector with more of these services moving to a decentralized model like Torrent networks that would be much harder to take down. People are very cunning when it comes to protecting their financial interest and we saw that when Finland took down Piratebay and within a few days many more similar sites popped up like mushrooms.  Grin

It will be interesting to see what the reaction of the other similar services will be now.  Wink
6820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Authorities Shut Down First Bitcoin Transaction Mixer on: May 23, 2019, 06:08:31 AM
Mixers are the last man standing between governments controlling Blockchain technology or not and I think this action will prompt new innovation to decentralize these services in the future or to incorporate it into the protocol as a side chain service.

We saw what happened when governments tried to take down Torrent sites... right. Tongue  They had new copies of PirateBay up within a couple of hours and then many more sites popped up like mushrooms.  Grin
