Will payments for the last week of Ultima signature campaign be paid, UltimaMMP?
As planed, it would be paid at the fourth of May, but it seems to be delayed a bit till today.
I hope to see my payments sooner or later this week.

I'm receiving payments as dev promises

Manged to buy (2) 1070tis at $510 each. Rather unimpressed so far. They're about 50% of the performance of the 1080ti across the board, with about 50% of the consumption.

If 1080tis keep going for $1000 each, it's better to buy the 1080tis than the 1070tis.

I then managed to buy ( 8 ) 1080tis for $6,200 total, so that was a wayyy better deal than the 1070tis!

Are you confident to buy GPUs at this moment?
(because of Asics, FPGAs etc)
6828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: who bought bitmain Z9 will face a big issues now on: May 07, 2018, 11:35:30 AM
They said that Equihash is ASIC resistant because it requires a lot of memory, it doesn't mean it's ASIC proof and they never said that they will fight against ASICs all their life. As they say now, they cannot fight all their life against technology, they have more important things to improve their algorithm. I don't see any problem in ASICs (Bitcoin, Litecoin and others are still alive), only those who put all their money in GPU are afraid. People has to stop to talk about decentralization, everybody is looking to save his own investment, they just want money. it's hypocrisy.
If no ASIC, soon with ETH POS you will see million of GPU coming to increase the alt coins difficulty and then make GPU mining less profitable. And I prefer not talk about FPGA that cannot be stopped by a fork.
You dont see the problem in fact that only one company can create asics for zec and that its already mining with them for at least 3 months? If they were world spread and easy to buy like gpus i would be fine with this but this way its all in hands of one company

Those people like to act dumb, I refuse to believe

Look at Monero difficulty, ALL ASIC COMPANIES were mining hidden and then they all tried to sell at the same time to idiots, it's FACT
6829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 05, 2018, 06:11:44 PM
At the end of the day neither the ASIC nor the moves by ETH to POS are friendly to GPU's.  ASIC's and GPU's are just tools to mining.  I don't find either one to be of a particular advantage and both have their issues.

Centralization of power on the network is just a fact.  Until other big players look at the value proposition and decide to full on compete with Bitmain we are stuck.  That is just the sad state of things.  We should count our lucky stars that Bitmain even sells these miners to be honest.  Image the nightmare of a company like Bitmain making and keeping in house all this mining power?  They would own the hashing power and control the networks.

So while things suck they could suck a lot more.

ETH going POS is going to cause a significant disruption.  I don't see how anyone could dispute that fact that everyone with GPU miners are going to be shifting all that ETH hash looking for something profitable to mine.  It is going to be ugly and just about the equivalent of Bitmain dumping a metric TON of D3's on the network.

Bitmain could have and should use some judgement on the size of the hash power on a given algo and then decide how many miners they can release  and not destroy the network.  This is a GOD like power that they have right now and they have not used that power wisely.

ASIC's and GPU's are tools.  Choose the best tool for the job.  Anyone who has followed crypto's from the beginning will remember the same sky is falling uproar when people figured out how to leverage GPU's in the early days of mining.  The world was coming to an end then too...  This is an arms race.  If you want to be competitive and possibly make a little coin then you have to get on the treadmill and keep upgrading your arms.

Devs deciding to fork coins and switch algo's will only be a temporary hindrance here for hardware mining tools.   This arms race is going to escalate.

But for a lot of miners and me included, the problem is not the end of GPU mining
If ETH goes to POS, it's fine, Devs already said that and ALL MINERS know that when we buy GPUs
But Asics?

Most of coins have on whitepapper something about being anti asics, asic proof etc
See the difference?

Jihan Wu and Bitmain are a cancer to cryptos, look, it`s not hard to came to this conclusion
6830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 04, 2018, 10:00:06 PM
something is just odd about this. let me elaborate.

the E3 is priced at 2000-2400. it mines like a 6 card rig and costs about the same as one

this new z9 is like 12 grand in GPUs but only priced at 2k? if bitmain sold 12k in gpu's they would be asking at least 9-10k for it

sooo what gives? are they just expecting a fork? at current this thing is what? a 45 day ROI which is something i have never seen since i have been in crypto. did this ever exist years back?

the price to performance just seems out of line

You will only ROI in 45 days if you are the only one to use this asic
Don't forget that at the moment you turn on your asic, 9.999 anothers Asics are turning on to  Grin

even if you do this the ROI is miles ahead of anything else on the market

i don't understand why some of you are trying to break down the oh no it's not 45 days it's like 70-90 when either argument reaches the same conclusion. they have one miner with an ROI lightyears above anything else out there on their site or GPU land. it doesn't make sense. something is missing from the equation. either they expect dev. forks or they expect a dump and massive difficulty increase and or prices are going to rise on this asic before launch.

what searing points out above was basically the elaborated version of my full thought process

I'm not defending this crap, people will not have ROI ins 45 days or even 70-90
About the price, who knows?
We are talking about bitmain, not a good company

Don`t forget Bitmain are building a huge farm on US and they will mine with the best asics, and then they will sell to trolls over and over

Very good to know
BTG and BTCZ are really good coins with great volume

Developers of these coins have my RESPECT and my support, I already have some coins but I`ll support even more

Just a question for you guys with more experience than me

When (if) GPUs dies, like in the past, everyone will suffer to?

Programmers like Claymore
Programmers like the ones who made SMOS, ETHOS etc
Small and Medium Miners
Gamers

This is very complex economic question.

The short answer is pain to many that did not understand to diversify.
The long answer is really hard to give.

I see gpus this way.

how many
1080ti
1080
1070ti
1070
1060
1050
1050ti

rx580
rx570
rx560

rx480
rx470
rx460

answer  many millions of them.

Killing them off  kills off millions that would mine small scale.

Absolute moron move of greed.

But and here is the big but how to keep them alive?

Raven maybe.

ALGO-of- the-month coin   is my new idea.

this new coin switches every month to a new algo.
the developer launches coin with 36 algos ready to drop for 36 months in a row.

this makes the coin asic proof for sure.
it makes the coin fpga resistant .

the two players that would want to make a coin like this would be  AMD AND NVIDIA

Will we see it I have no idea.  But I am holding on to 18x 1080tis just incase we do.

Even you have no idea, we are screwed  Grin
Thanks to answer, I`m really intestered to see this, because there are more than just miners in this question
6833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥⭐[ANN]⚡ULTIMA⚡MULTI MODULE PLATFORM⚡MMP⚡MASTERNODES⚡SKEIN⭐🔥 on: May 04, 2018, 08:12:43 PM
Let me get this right... If I mine this coin and find a block, I will get 10% of the block reward of 3 coins (so 0.3) and masternodes will receive 90% (so 2.7)?

Brilliant.

If you don't like you can easy set up a masternode, that is also more easy to set up and earn instead of mining. But yes, i can understand you as a miner.. but surely masternodes help the price much more than mining.

Some masternodes on network are good because it helps to stabilize the price
6834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate? on: May 04, 2018, 08:11:41 PM
It does not really matter and there the CPU mining as well must know will never make profit.

I'm making profits with my CPUs
They are paid and I gain more than energy

And my CPUs are running on 6 GPU rig

the market shop is small, it is seen manipulation at a lower price + some sellers unfortunately for them for that small price they sell .... low price-buy!
Kindly and honestly words. Thanks for your hint in such harsh period of the whole market, in particular altcoins.
It is right time to buy cheap altcoins, including Ultima.

This is perfect time to buy coins to a masternode
6839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 04, 2018, 12:00:49 PM
It doesn't really matter if the equihash coins fork or not.
In the long run we are all fucked. By all I mean small to medium mining operation owners.
As long as there is serious money in the game do you really think that the powers that be will let us regular folk have our share?
This leaves me wondering what in the hell are we trying to accomplish with crypto currencies anyway.
"Decentralized" is just another nice sounding word, same as democracy. It's a dream, an illusion.

One thing is clear: zcash was launched with an ASIC resistant ideology. Now zcash says it didn't mean that.
What changed? MONEY

The rest is just noise.

Yes, but there are trolls everywhere saying Asics are good to mining and cryptos

Small, medium miners will lose
Programmers will lose (claymore and others)
average joe will lose
gamers will lose ( yes, gamers are mining to )

Bitmain will profit
Big Farms will profit

Period

Interesting
I was thinking FPGA will be a good thing to fight Asics, but it`s very very expensive to buy and very difficulty in a lot of countries
