Nagelsmann doesn’t need to worry too much yet. Bayern will probably still win the league despite their bad form. There’s only really Dortmund as a proper competitor & they have lots of young players who could choke as the season goes on. Bayern know how to win the big trophies, they have a lot of players with bog experience.

The problem is that with such an uncertain performance, Bayern could once again miss out on the Champions League title. Last season, Bayern also looked great from the start (and in the Bundesliga too) - they scored a lot of goals but also conceded a lot. The pattern is repeating this season, with Bayern risking get an inconvenient/lucky Champions League opponent and be knockouted early on.

Chelsea sack their managers all the time, they have one of the biggest turnovers of managers in the league. Sacking Tuchel was a joke tbh, after winning the CL he should have been given more time. I notice many of their fans on social media being disappointed about how he was treated.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Potter was sacked before the end of the season, especially if he doesn’t get top 4.

This is a harsh approach on the part of management, but in modern conditions it is justified. Nobody can wait for a new Alex Ferguson and building a team from scratch in a few years. A modern coach has a planning horizon of one season - if he failed it, then no one will take risks and give him a chance to fail the second season. This is quite reasonable given the amount of money at stake.

Club football trumps regular national football by a mile. I can't stand these international breaks and league of nations. World Cup is a different beast, that competition has history and gravitas. I am watching 90% of World Cup games from the time I started caring about football and I look forward for this one as well.

Lots of people complain about winter timing but I actually like it. Winters are quite boring in Croatia with dark falling around 5PM and constant rains/wind where I live. What better way to spend it then at home/pub watching World Cup football?

No doubt it will be nice to watch football of the highest (sometimes, lol) level on long winter evenings, but in return for this you were deprived of these games in the summer. And if you remember the terrible summer games in the League of Nations, then I would prefer to watch the World Cup instead. It seems that I heard that FIFA promised that they would no longer conduct such experiments and that in the future the World Cup would be held at the traditional time?

I think in this case when people jump into gambling, of course they must be aware that gambling is one thing that will definitely eat up your money, and that is the risk of gambling itself.
We should not be naive in expecting profits from gambling because it is very clear that it is impossible to happen.
Apart from the impact of addiction and other things it is the effect of gambling itself. when they don't want that to happen then don't really set foot in gambling if you're still naive and don't want negative things to come your way.

Why did you decide that it is impossible to make a profit from gambling? When I have time to make a few bets, I play for small money, it won't hurt me if I lose and maybe that's why with small stakes I manage to win more often than I lose. But with big stakes, everything is bad for me and I cannot achieve positive results. Therefore, I treat gambling as entertainment.

You can make a profit on gambling if you own a casino. But the mathematical basis of gambling is such that the player always loses at a distance, haven't you heard anything about this? But you are doing the right thing by evaluating gambling as entertainment - in this case, everything is fair and everyone is happy: the player pays money and receives entertainment in return.

Update: Twitch has placed a ban on offshore casinos. It's a win in my book. At least we won't see the same amount of shills turning kids into gambling addicts on twitch Smiley

https://i.imgur.com/jTqZTAq.png

I have been saying this for months and it finally happened!!

I am really happy today, gonna order some vanilla ice cream lol

I don't know if I should be happy about it. Has gambling from trusted casinos become less dangerous? I strongly doubt it. Rather, Twitch, under public pressure, was forced to imitate some kind of activity, and they chose this path. Next time they will choose another criterion such as the use of cryptocurrencies and ban the casinos that use them.

Usually such statements are made in cases when the team is at war with the coach and, with poor results, is trying to get him fired. And I'm not saying that this is exactly the whole team, as we know there are always several groups within any team. It's a signal to them that Allegri is staying. Theoretically, such statements can put an end to disagreements in the team, but in practice, everything can happen the other way around.
Exactly what I was thinking. When the CEO says that they are happy with the manager that usually means they are not happy, because why would you have to go out and say you are happy when you already are, you don't have to say anything at all. This means that something must be wrong within the team and of course not so great results could be the reason.

However, I do not see any fault with the manager here, most of the players are injured and that is why they are not getting the ideal results, if the manager gets his players back from the injury and still ends up losing points then you could consider firing him, not before, because a new manager with these injury list would still lose points too.

The funny thing is that I remember (in the championship of my country) how, literally a couple of weeks after such statements, the coach was fired. I don't know if this will happen to Allegri (besides, now there is a break for national teams which gives everyone some pause to calm down), but anything can happen. In any case, Juventus are already very close to failing the season, and even despite the fact that competitors also show uncertain results, they are falling further and further behind the group of leaders.
6828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 21, 2022, 06:36:01 PM
There was no intrigue regardless of Marseille's results. The chances of PSG winning the title are estimated at 1.04. Even if PSG lose a couple of matches, they won't change much. For example, Bayern, which is now far from the first place, is quoted with odds of 1.14. There is no doubt that we will see a repeat of last season.
In current situation we have no clue for improvement in odds for PSG because clearly they are favorite and having big advantage of quality against all other clubs even Marseille and Monaco are not near them which are big contenders for staying at second and third spot so with this all they have nothing to do in French League like Bayern Munich is having the worst time in German League but still odds are 1.14 which are clearly indicating how strong they are and capable of fight back for title race even right now they are at fifth spot.

If any case we have results like these in French League for PSG which is not possible then odds could be not going to increase as we all know they are best and can do much better in coming weeks with their quality and big players which are currently in their squad.

If PSG got into a situation like Bayern, then the odds would increase, but not by much. The odds of Bayern when they started well were in the region of 1.05, and now they have risen to 1.14. PSG odds are now 1.04. On the other hand, I remember how last season, when it was already clear that Juventus had failed the season, according to the bookmakers, it was still the favorite. Sometimes even the bookmakers make mistakes.

The balance of Group E can change very much after the next two match weeks.

Chelsea and Milan are going to face each other in this time period. The upcoming match is in Stamford Bridge and this might be the most critical one for Chelsea. If they somehow get the win this can be a silver lining for them to turn things around in the group. If they lose points in both matches against Milan then it would be much more difficult for them to qualify for next stage. They would have no other option than beating Dinamo Zagreb and Salzburg both in that case. The matches between these two will also play a big role of course. The best scenario for Chelsea would be two draws in both Dinamo Zagreb - Salzburg matches. Graham Potter's touch will hopefully make the team better in offense. The Salzburg match was a nice example but they were very unlucky.

It seems to me that Chelsea will take at least 4 points in the games against Milan and then win the rest of the games. Last season, after the first two rounds, there were also very interesting situations in some groups, but then by the end of the group tournament, everything returned to normal. If I remember correctly, only Barcelona and Milan lost their "guaranteed" playoff tickets. Given the fact that Dinamo and Salzburg are far from Benfica in strength, their chances are small and rather they compete only for 3rd place.
6830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: September 21, 2022, 01:49:58 PM
I don't know who can believe this. To assess the naivety of such expectations, just look at the quotes of bookmakers:

Bayern Munich 1.14

Borussia Dortmund 9.70

RB Leipzig 27.70

Union Berlin 44.00

I wish I could be the one who believes that Bayern will not be champions and see such huge odds on its competitors.
By the way, 1.14 for Bavaria looks quite attractive - many times better than a bank deposit and about the same reliable.
The German bundesliga is a boring league to me because there are no teams who are competent enough to challenge Bayern for the Bundesliga tittle this season. It is very obvious that Munich are the only team who can claim that tittle back to back because the only team that would have given them fierce competition is Dortmund, and Bayern most atimes sign their best players from them to weaken them, that has been the tactics that Bayern used for some years ago. Therefore, this season too is going to be for Bayern, and I don't see any team who can fight with them for the tittle.

In fairness, I must say that the number of players moving from Bayern to Borussia is more in total, but if you take the biggest stars, then yes, Bayern usually took them from Borussia. But in the case of Haaland, this pattern has been broken and is unlikely to ever happen again - there are too many rich players in the market and Bayern will no longer be able to lure the best players only at the expense of their name, now they will have to join the salary race on an equal basis with everyone else.
6831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: September 21, 2022, 01:42:57 PM
Barcelona has won their last two away matches against Real Madrid. And in both matches Barcelona players dominated. Barcelona won 4-0 against Real Madrid in last season's away match. So even if the next match is Real Madrid's home match, Barcelona will definitely win if they play well.
But with Real Madrid's consistency now, they are very difficult to beat. Real Madrid played amazingly against Atletico Madrid in the last match. And so, the next match of Barcelona vs Real Madrid will definitely be competitive and enjoyable. So far the chances of both teams winning are 50-50.

Grin What is the point of remembering that victory of Barcelona in a game that no longer decided anything for Real? Real Madrid by that time had already solved the problem of the championship in La Liga and was focused on the Champions League. Plus, since that game, the compositions of both teams have changed significantly - in fact, Barcelona has become a different team altogether, and Real have made small changes. I agree that it will be an interesting game, but there is no point in linking it with the results of previous meetings.
6832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 21, 2022, 01:35:32 PM
Manchester United haven't been lucky with lifting trophies in the past season despite their gigantic spending in transfer window. The board and fans are much contended with the players they have signed this summer, I'm not saying that they wouldn't sign when the January transfer marking open, but opening bids amount will reduce as they wil only go for few players. Erik ten hag really did a good job by landing some of his priority players this season and he's doing well for the team. Manchester United have won their key games, like Liverpool and Arsenal.

If we talk about the result, then United certainly got better, but I would not say that the victory over Liverpool or Arsenal was natural and was the result of a good game. Ten Hag didn't come to United to keep United as a dangerous middle team who can sometimes beat anyone. The targets have been more ambitious and despite recent acquisitions that United have made in a hurry, I still do not see global improvements.
6833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: September 21, 2022, 01:26:57 PM

The difference between the three isn't much anymore and as far as premier league is concern no club is too big to fall. Arsenal might seem strong at the moment but to what extent can they hold to the top position. They haven't meet with City, Tottenham and Chelsea and this three club will surely shift them from the position they are comfortably occupying at the moment.

Tottenham shares the same point with City and currently i see them worthy enough to challenge City and Arsenal for the league title

When 2-3-4 very strong clubs compete, it is very difficult to predict the final result (for example, the favorite will play several draws, and the weaker club will be more successful and eventually be the first). The problem with Arsenal (and all City's other rivals) is that at a distance their chances get smaller the longer the distance - on average City is stronger than each competitor. Maybe the break for the World Cup will give additional randomness to this race - I will hope so.

Cool
6835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 20, 2022, 05:46:50 PM
People have different motivations. While mortgage loans inspire some people to work harder its not a wise decision to pay way higher to a house that they can actually get for half its price.

Staying in parents house while married seem an abussive behavior. It only means this couple has no intention of becoming independent. Not the kind that should be gambling too.

In addition to different motivations, there is also a different worldview about living with parents  Wink More recently, it was considered a sign of a healthy family when a young couple lives with one of their parents because grandparents can help a lot in case of having children. But now it is considered normal when a couple has one child, they are at work all the time, and their child is exposed to the propaganda of blue-haired schizophrenics in kindergarten.

Twitch has been a cesspool for a long time (compared to its historical role as a game streaming service), and I don't think this case is anything special given the current state of things on the platform. But if you are interested in specific games and specific streamers, you should not care that there are many other things on the platform that are unacceptable to you - just do not go to their streams.

Juventus CEO has made a statement about Allegri's future. He said that they weren't thinking of sacking Allegri at all. He says that Allegri is a part of their four-year project. Allegri has a contract running until 2025 now. Maybe the CEO is really telling the truth. But I'm still not sure about that because the same thing happened between Laporta and Koeman at Barcelona. A short time after, we saw Koeman getting sacked.

We don't even know if the real problem with the team is Allegri's system now. Because last season was much better for Juventus and Allegri was the manager then too. I think they shouldn't be in a hurry to sack him. Instead they should focus on finding the source of the problem in the team. Maybe they need to make new signings especially for their midfield. Pogba's absence is making them more desperate there. If they consolidate their midfield at least they wouldn't concede many goals easily.

Again this super-important tournament is with us... eh  Undecided

So, what do you think of this multibet: Belgium vs Wales 1.42, France vs Austria 1.38, Turkey vs Luxembourg 1.29 (lol, that seems like the easiest money even for a single bet) and Germany vs Hungary 1.26. In total, it turns out 3.18 and looks quite reliable (although, adjusted for the status of the competition, the issue of reliability is debatable).

It looks a good one as a beginning,I think Belgium is a sure win seeing how badly Wales has performed in the tournament, also Turkey looks like an easy bet while Germany has had a 2-2 draw a couple of years ago against Hungary although the teams are not the same as they were back then,Germany is somewhat better and France the last choice has made quite a few surprise results in the Nations league, nevertheless the choice looks good and I wish you to win your ticket but as they say the more games you have the more chances for you to go bust.

Yes, I am aware of Germany and France, but I think that unlike the summer games, these are already very close to the World Cup and here everyone will be interested in showing a normal game so as not to be criticized and additional pressure from the fans. Therefore, I assume that the favorites should realize their paper advantage.

And with Marseille finally getting a tie, while PSG winning, it is obvious that PSG is the first and intends to stay like that. People overreacted to PSG  a lot, and they shouldn't and it wasn't such a big deal, they assumed that Marseille could win the title like Lille did a year prior, and that is obviously not going to happen at all, look at the game and the result and you will see why.

I believe that the best thing to do now would be waiting for PSG to have even more wins, and they will do fine. It is overreacted, and PSG will show the world how "rich" they are, I mean they are good, but that's mainly thanks to the money they have.

I think that not only Chelsea is in danger of being eliminated and failing to qualify for the Champions League group stage, I see that there are several other clubs that may have bad luck as predicted for Chelsea.

According to my observation the setback of the Atletico Madrid team, also has a bad impact on them, currently Atletico are in Group B, if they don't show good results in the future this can have a bad impact on Atletico in the Champions League, then Juventus they also got off to a bad start after losing 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain and also when Juventus were beaten by Benfica 2-1 earlier, this was a bad thing for the Juventus team in the Champions league.

In my opinion, despite the last place with 1 point, Chelsea are in the safest position and have great chances not only to leave the group to the playoffs, but to do so from the first place. Only 3 points to the first place - this is one victory in a face-to-face meeting. The rest of the teams except Milan are typical underdogs who can take one game but have no chance in the fight even at such a short distance.
