6841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Panic Trading! on: September 19, 2018, 08:19:37 PM
Quick and Dirty?  Grin

I actually panic at the right time so there is not much to share with other stuffs.

Sold at the lower price because of the dumps that happened. But you cannot predict the market so a sudden dump happened again.
Bought at that price the same number of ETH that I got when I panic and got more number of that token that I am trading. Now I am seeing profit there.

I cannot say it is dirty, more of a lucky trick.  Grin
6842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation good or bad? on: September 19, 2018, 05:01:55 PM
In my view, regulation will be good for Crypto industry. As we can now see  that many Govt are looking for ways to regulate the industry.

Regulation will be a good thing in the long run. It will build trust for the industry among the masses thereby resulting in mass adoption. With regulation, people will feel more comfortable and have a sense of security to invest in crypto.

I don't believe that regulation means we have to declare our portfolio. Just as nobody cares to know exactly how much you own in the bank.

Regulation will also help in curbing the possibility of using crypto to launder money and place a check and balance in ICO which will make it very difficult for scam ICOs to operate.

I say regulation will in the end be a good thing for crypto..

What's your view about it?

If you had asked people few years ago their opinion would be completely opposite of what you're seeing in this thread and it's understandable. I think regulation can help more people get involved in crypto and overall it will be extremely helpful in wider adoption.

Yes. Before we could see that it will be difficult to pull people from doing it. Beta users are not even opening conversations like this before.

But I am still against this regulation.
It is actually not part of what satoshi is aiming for.
But if it is the people's vote then I guess I will just have to go with it. Let us say I am still at the neutral part.
6843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: September 19, 2018, 12:35:57 PM
One of the reasons why other players still stay at old age.
1. Love of the game.
2. They are acquiring enough money for retirement.

40 is mostly the age they retire. After that there will be no money entering in their accounts.

They still got 30-40 years to live and I dont think the money they got from playing basketball can afford that.
Add up the life they got used which is mostly expensive.

So business will be their option since they cannot be accepted in office works for that age.

I do think Dirk is a wise man. His Teacher might have already prepared him for that.
Passion for the game surely is the main reason why they can't leave the game though they are too old enough for it. I don't want to dig some of his life decisions on how wise he is with financial management but he can still get a job after that.

I remember Yao Ming when he retired, he got a contract to have a tour around the world to become an advocate of something so that can also happen to Dirk if he's out of NBA.

Yao's story is way different with Dirk.
If you are living in a communist country then it will be a different rule.
It is like your momey is being halved as always for the sake of the government.
That is why Yao have his own television channel way back. Somehow I think this is because he is giving a big share for his country.

Maybe a shooting school business will really fit for Dirk.
Yes they have their different story, I'm just giving an example on what happened to Yao after retirement. I don't want to dig more about their government or so.

A shooting school would be amazing if Dirk manage to have that and for sure many will enroll to it especially those aspiring players and young potentials.

Sorry about that.
I just remembered that big television screen where I see Yao most of the time and that is why I suddenly talked also about their government.

Correct, a shooting school would fit Dirk specially how he does the proper way to shoot to avoid blocks.

Examples of bad shooting positions are Shawn Marion, Lonzo Ball and also Steph Curry.
Yes, Curry is one of those kids who shoots like the ball is so heavy. Hands came from the waist before pulling it up.
It is an easy block for the defender since he is also small.

If rookies will have the same problem then probably Dirk could make them change without risking the shooting percentage.
Basketball in perfection.
6844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL CONDEMNING BITCOINS on: September 19, 2018, 10:23:41 AM
Bitcoin is growing stronger, lets forget about the red on the market. WE WILL SEE GREEN SOON AND IT WILL BE ALL SMILES.

this is exactly why the price is not rising yet. it is because all you care about is that fiat you so love and want to increase. you talk about bitcoin's adoption as a currency, you talk about the technology,... but in the end all you care about is profit on your fiat. and that is why price doesn't rise because if you believed in what you said here then you would have been spending bitcoin, encouraging businesses to accept bitcoin all around you,... instead you are waiting for a rise to sell your bags and be rich.

Boom! Finish him!

He is correct. OP is trying to explain about the condemning part and yet the thread is talking about the price again.

Stop looking at the price then maybe you coupd see how better bitcoin is than all that fiat that is around you or how you are trying to convert bitcoin with.

This should be in trading discussions.
6845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too many exchanges? on: September 18, 2018, 10:58:14 PM
Merit for the good question.

I find it hard to open too many exchanges since different tokens are listed to where the owners want it to be.
They might be listening to their community but still the last decision will be theirs specially when there is a payment involved.

It is good for competition is a better way to see how healthy the a thing is or should be valued.
The problem is just like I said, not all are listed on every exchange.
6846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam projects on: September 18, 2018, 09:36:07 PM
how to search for Scam project? I made an analysis of the possible Scam project, but did not receive any comment, I would like to know if I did it right

Why would someone will be searching for a scam project  Huh

I understand that you come across one project and would do research to understand if its a scam or not? But specifically looking out for a scam project does not make a sense to me.

I think the reason why do they search for a scam projects? Because if they already knows what are those scam projects maybe they can avoid or skip this projects so that they shouldn't been a loosing more time and efforts.

But also I understand you with your reaction with this questions that instead of searching a scam projects and they need to focus on what a good projects that can give them a better opportunities and more profits.

I do think you are aiming for the good thing but scammers will also find a way to do it.
If you spread the news or tips on how to know what a scam project is then scammers will just simply think of a new way to avoid those tips that you gave.
You are simply making it easy for them.
Let them do the same mistake so we can always find those holes to know them. Do not make it harder.
6847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: September 18, 2018, 08:49:43 PM

Opportunities are endless for dirk after his nba career. Or he can even continue on with his franchise outside the court. The guy knows that his years of active competition is almost over but the guy can still produce good numbers at this point in his career

I agree with that.

He still have that hot hands as they call it.
Remember Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon, who is giving guidance with Clint Capela.
Tim Duncan which is also helping Aldridge with his posting stance and other stuffs.
Steve Nash also have some tutorials with how to shoot properly.

Dirk will be one of them but this time when it comes to shooting when you are a tall person. His customer could be Porzingis and maybe some new recruits of the Dallas Mavericks.
6848  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: September 18, 2018, 07:22:53 PM
The government is trying to make everything under its control, the banks control all the money, and the government controls that banks.
Blocking or restricting is a feature of anything new, new things need time to accept.
The Internet has been a tool for freedom before, but now there are a lot of restrictions on its use, and this will happen to cryptocurrencies.
I do not know why people tend to be controlled? But this is a present trait.

Tradition.
People seem to feel secured when someone is in control. I am not against it but there are times it goes overboard.
Bitcoin almost looked like "freedom" and governments will try to prevent that. Yes some countries just looks like they are in democracy but it is really not that type of government.
It is still the authority who will filter everything before being passed to the media to spread the news.
A news that is already cleaned up. Sad but true.
6849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming the standard value of commodities on: September 18, 2018, 03:49:08 PM
This is actually the hardest part of all.

One reason is traditionally we are locked into USD and we always convert any valuable thing thru it.
Actually it is a mess. Why not other currency or commodity? Why USD?

Now, how to take that out of the minds of the people since it became global. I am still on a deep thinking about that. A big explosive news might be the real answer for people to change. How many of us here who believes in bitcoin and use it as a real currency?
One more problem to deal with is the division because of altcoins.

They were forgotten quickly.
We got to move on too.
It is not easy to find them here since they are stopped in just a manner of time before they could spread it completely.

You might see other projects here that aint scam but their token seems to not have some value.
That might be a better research than looking for scams.
6852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Downsides to crypto on: September 17, 2018, 08:55:48 PM
Illegal transactions for buying illegal items.
For money laundering which could lead to government corruption.

Although it is great to be used as payment method it could also lead to a large scale of downside when abused.
People are getting witty by now and they could find holes easily.
But it could also be countered by the government if they want too. But I dont think one honest government will try to make it come true if they are also using it to escape money.
6853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: September 17, 2018, 06:46:24 PM
I think you guys are forgetting that the medical part of NBA improved 100 times since MJ times. Back than players played 40+ minutes per game, I remember iverson playing 43 minutes per game for a while and so forth. You can be the best player in the league but if you play over 40 minutes a game you are going to get injured one way or another.

Even lebron takes care of his body like no other, it is said that he spends 1 million dollars a year to maintain his body, trainers, chambers, cooks, dieticiens and many more stuff just to keep him lean and mean. Players who play until they are 40 now are much healtier and can play much better compared to 90's stars who played into their 40's because their body was not that much taken cared of.

Also a good point.
By the way, this can happen now because of the million of dollars salary that they have. Unlike before, where the NBA management is still looking for a way for people to seek entertainment through basketball.

That is why they made a lot of freebies and also they are trying to change it in different field to where NBA can get most profit. The hand check rule was one. People are getting bored of players just playing in the inside. They want something new so NBA gave it to them. No more hand check the next year.

So now 40 year old can still be good to play. Hmmmm so draft picks can take older players too.  Grin
6854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of trader are you? Active? HODLer? Somewhere in between? Why? on: September 17, 2018, 05:02:41 PM
Interested in peoples' trading styles now that we've been in a bear market for a while. Do you still believe in HODLing to another all time high? Or are you looking for other ways to make $$ during the market downturn?

I go for long term buying of cheap coins. So you can say I am a hodler. It works a lot for me.
It doesnt mean I am lazy to forecast the market. It is just that, it is much risky when you make trades. Been there and have also done it and it did not work for me.
So just better stay with the mostly used technique and that is to HODL more which have a good future.
6855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where next? Up or down! on: September 17, 2018, 02:56:09 PM
I don't consider Mike Novogratz calling bottom to be something to add value to, especially with how biased he is with significant crypto holdings at risk. Market makers don't care about these entities.

If the price is destined to go down, it simply will, regardless of who is calling bottoms. I'm ready and somewhat do expect another sub $6000 visit either this or next month. Time will tell whether support will yet again hold.

I'm not trying to sound bearish, but being overly optimistic has only resulted in disappointment this year. I'm trying to maintain a healthy/neutral balance to not get bothered if the price goes down again.

Expect the unexpected!

Me. Yes that is me too.

Trying to just stay away with the pricing of all the crypto but when you are in this forum it seems difficult to really get away from it.
Having internet is sometimes a bad thing. You cannot just forget about what is being said here and then try to take a little peek of the current price.

I am just hoping the followers of this Mike Novogratz will not blindly follow it and instead look for another picture of what is really going on.
The market cannot be predicted by one person. Not even Satoshi. Yes, I dont think so.
6856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: September 17, 2018, 12:30:16 PM

During the time of MJ as the best player in the NBA or also in the world, he was able to carry his team to win multiple championships and get
MVP awards. Now, Lebron James is the best player in the Planet but he don't have the capability to dominate any team, instead they were dominated by the warriors.

Difficult to be compared with that era.
Players are different now since they have seen great players and are now adapting it.
Also new types of trainings are being created unlike before.
So it is not rewlly a one man team that could win the championship.
Just like GSW which are cooperating with each other.
Using all their skills to be formed as one. That is why they can easily dominate basketball.

MJ also got a lot of help.
Good coach and team mates.
6857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the crypto market really for anyone? on: September 16, 2018, 10:53:08 PM
I think this market is not for everyone and that is why I do not usually recommend my friends or family to invest in cryptos, as it is well known that most people have a great aversion to risk and that is why traditional investment instruments still receive large amounts of money despite their stingy returns. And because of this usual risk rejection many newbies use to cry so much as soon as they suffer some loss in this market, because they never assume the great risk that crypto investments involve and believe that getting rich overnight is a simple and easy task.

Assumptions and expectations. They are giving too much of that for the crypto world. They got used of what happened before like bitcoin to just keep on rising in price.

Well not anymore. Those expectations were broken ever since the fall from 19k+ usd up until now.
Now that there are losses they became the vice versa of what should have been the best supporter of bitcoin.
Hell happens. Grin
6858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: September 16, 2018, 06:11:49 PM

One of the reasons why other players still stay at old age.
1. Love of the game.
2. They are acquiring enough money for retirement.

You can add - chasing their first ring by signing a 1 year vet. minimum deals to a contending teams with stacked rosters.

Also, most teams, if not all, need a veteran presence in their locker room. Apart from chasing rings and money, being able to help/mentor young players is what some of the old dudes like to do.

Oh yeah. Sorry forgot about that kind of player.
But Dirk is out of the list with those.

Before it was Karl Malone, Gary Payton and Sam Cassell who really pushed it until 40 before retiring Nba just for the ring.

There are a lot of them who are stopped by MJ. Taking all the championships on the 90's and they are left with none since new players are getting better while they are getting old.

Good point. Thanks.
6859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in ETH? on: September 16, 2018, 04:12:23 PM
Weak hands just because of Buterin talking about there will be no more enormous jump of prices for crypto currencies.
If remember correctly Buterin is not on marketing and just the owner of Ethereum.
It doesnt mean he knows what could the value be. I believe in crypto you cannot predict accurately what could really happen. The fall doesnt mean the end.

Keep Hodling.
6860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO PEOPLE STILL HAVE CONFIDENCE IN BITCOIN? on: September 16, 2018, 02:58:35 PM
True.
I have seen this back and forth and it will just happen again.
There are just too many people who dont have any patience now. Specially the new ones. They came investing into bitcoin looking for a fast way to earn money which is wrong.
They thing it will bounce back that fast to 20k usd which did not happen again and worse it goes way below half of its price.

The strong will survive. I will just wait for the moment that it becomes valuable and enjoy every satoshi of it.
