6861  Other / Serious discussion / Facebook's privacy invasion is INSANE on: March 08, 2019, 01:00:29 AM
So last week , i attended my friend's wedding , one of his relatives took a photo for us , it was me, the groom , and another 2 guys that i don't know " his colleagues"

The next day, i woke up to this notification from FB.

i click it, and i get this

Right above the my photo  Huh Huh

I don't have the guy who posted the photo on my FB , he did not tag me , he simply posted on his wall and FB knows where and how i spent my night while i was signed out and totally offline.

also, while i do post a few photos of my ugly face once in a while, non of my photos have any similarities with the color of the picture, and my the picture was a bit dark, not zoomed it to my face.

i have installed and worked with quite a few high quality face recognition cameras and non of them would catch a similar scenario so I gotta give credit for such INSANE technology.

TL;DR , if you have ever posted your photo on FB then regardless of what you do, they will always know your whereabouts  Grin
6862  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 Hashboard error: 2 boards=0 chip, 1 board=33 chips on: March 08, 2019, 12:17:04 AM
chances are, those boards have rested in peace,

but i have encountered a similar issue where one of the boards was showin 0 asic but i fixed that by flushing another firmware 'auto-tune'

6863  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT everyone? on: March 08, 2019, 12:09:13 AM
These incidents are expected to happen after the new DT system was implemented , but look at the bright side, go here  > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=93.0

randomly check 5-10 profiles, the majority of them are scammers who are tagged (ONLY) by the NEW  DT members.

with all the flaws, the current system is doing pretty good, the old limited list was not good enough, you can't expect a handful of members to efficiently tag thousands of scammers , but the larger the DT list grows the more we can fight scammers, indeed we will see more abuse but thanks to the voting system, the list is "supposed" to stay clean and accurate one way or the other.

6864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hodling btc vs Hodling hashpower in 2019, thoughts needed. on: March 07, 2019, 11:58:18 PM
the S9s that i sourced are pretty cheap, 130$ with PSU in china, the other 70$ is the shipping + rack + cables and installation fees. while i can indeed find a much cheaper gear as in cost per TH but the cost that comes along with the miner is the problem, i will probably end up with the same cost and almost half the hashrate if went with the 741.

another issue is that the power is limited, so i am trying to balance between cost per th as well as power consumption. I ran all the numbers on different gears and the best choice so far is the S9.

all the numbers seem to match, i just don't know why am i a little hesitate , i always get the feeling that the gears will stop half way to ROI  Grin.

maybe i am not brave enough to take such a step, but i think anyone else would have taken this opportunity, it's so tempting to hit ROI in 3 months.

do you guys think i should minimize the initial risk and extend ROI period ? because these sweet numbers will only work if i go all in, anything less will not be 3 months to ROI.
6865  Other / Meta / Re: New? on: March 07, 2019, 09:43:19 PM
They came in a nice storage box, but the problem was that the instructions about opening the box were locked inside the box.

you can let the first time slip, but the second, third and tenth time is not justifiable - provided that you had access to the instructions already, and this is what most spammers here do, they insist on breaking the rules , sadly.
6866  Other / Meta / Re: MODS DELETING FACTS - which mod is it? Time for them to answer for this. on: March 07, 2019, 09:33:33 PM

1. I correctly state that is amazing how someone like the pharmacist aka Huge Black Woman (the racist trolling sig spammer imbecile who got busted for being extra greedy and trying to swap to a higher paying sig campaign on his puppet account) can now come and lecture others on spamming and how they should be banned.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1702409.msg17808231#msg17808231

2. I then challenge this dumb hypocritical fool to prove my walls of text are trolling garbage and present the Incorrect information that I present in them.

BOOM my post deleted.

how is that related to user EriksonPartners spamming the forum ? you can also report his comment which you quoted above for being off-topic.
6867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / how to buy cheaper control boards for your antminer. on: March 07, 2019, 09:25:12 PM

It is very normal for a control board to stop functioning, and buying those could be a hustle giving the bad market conditions.

a few days ago one of my  miners L3++ disappeared, tried to reset it in all different ways, nothing worked, the control board wasn't even flushing, tried a different PSU and it didn't work, so after some troubleshooting it turns out that the control board rested in peace.

so the cheapest used control board i found locally was 30$ , but strange enough i found an A3 control board for just 10$.

many people don't know that A3 and L3 have the same control board, so there is a very good chance that you can find good deals on control boards if you know what control boards are common in more than one model.

so here is the list from bitmain.

"S9/S9i/T9/R4/S9j"

"L3/L3+/L3++/D3/A3/X3"

"T9+/B3/E3"

"V9/Z9"

you can find these details buried in bitmain's website > parts products.

so really just make use of these information when you plan to buy a control board, in many cases you can get a used or broken V9 miner that will cost cheaper than Z9 control board and you get to keep the fans too  Roll Eyes.

most old miners know these information already, but i am pretty sure many people don't, so there you have it.

Good Luck.
6868  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do Bitcoin miners care about renewable energy? on: March 07, 2019, 08:52:18 PM
sadly, we are humans, actually some people think the whole mining thing is bad for mother earth , and they sound reasonable to be honest, we burn a tremendous amount of resources just to run a "virtual" coin which most people treat as a lottery ticket.
6869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Hodling btc vs Hodling hashpower in 2019, thoughts needed. on: March 07, 2019, 07:56:31 PM
2017-2018 have been the best 2 years for me so far, i managed to make good profit form both mining and trading. by the end of 2018 i have saved a good amount of my hodlings in a cold wallet and decided to never touch that for at least a couple of years.

lately , and given the market condition i have been thinking about shifting to mining full blast mode  Smiley

I have been running the numbers and it does seem to me like this is the perfect market conditions for me to do so, given the stability of price as well as the difficulty, and since i am pretty certain that the bull market still has months and months to come , my analysis on that is here > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105680.msg49569375#msg49569375

I am planning to use all of my hodlings to buy used S9s

now here are the numbers.

it will cost me approximately 200$ per S9 ( including set up and  installation for the quantity am planning to buy, the more the cheaper )

daily profit for 13.5 TH would be 2.22$  = 68$ monthly  * power is free

200/66 = 3 months.

so even if price drops from here, difficulty will have to adjust itself and ROI time will be the same more or less.

the only issue that i might face is some gear failure since those will be used gears and can break at any time.

should everything go according to plan , in 3 months i would have the same hodlings back to where they are now, and end up with a good amount of hashing power.

note that i have to go ALL IN for the numbers above to work out, the less risk i take the more it will cost per miner, therefore ROI will take more time which will eventually lead to more risk, giving the fact that there is some initial cost that i have to pay regardless of the number of gears, as well as the miner cost itself.

I would love to hear thoughts from the forum members, do you think this is a good step ? or am i crazy ?

Thanks.
6870  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do Bitcoin miners care about renewable energy? on: March 07, 2019, 06:59:15 PM
I think a lot of people would go for the cheaper source, despite what they say, it's human nature that people always want more profit for less cost, if not for regulation and restriction then majority of people with go with whatever cheaper option they have.

where i live the only power sources are natural gas and oil, and they are so cheap that nobody would even think about solar or anything else for that matter.

i want nothing more than a clean world, but i can't really convince the demon inside me to pay a fortune for solar panels when i have almost free power rate.
6871  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how many S11,S15,T15 did bitmain actually manage to sell? on: March 07, 2019, 06:43:26 PM
More people jumping to conclusions without facts in the race to bash bitmain, gotta love it.

while i don't agree with the alleged pre-mine story that many people have to say about bitmain , this is mining speculation section, and everyone has the right to speculate as they see fit, they don't have to go to "their facilities and seen how they operate" to speculate, and if you think that this is a requirement then maybe we should leave this board for you to speculate with yourself  Grin
6872  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: March 07, 2019, 06:27:00 PM
First test was 242-244V. Same results consistently for the next hour and a half. That's all I needed to see for now.

this is bad news, let's hope bitmain will revert to the old psu specs for the future batches.
6873  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bottomed out ? TA analysis. on: March 07, 2019, 06:03:53 PM
Majority of the investors already sold at higher $10K and take profit, some bought when the price dump and they are still holding it now, so if they will sell, it's like they are doing a suicide mission.

and how do you exactly know that the "majority of investors sold at higher 10k?" this is rather an thought of speculation, giving that we are 70%  down from 10k it doesn't seem like majority sold at 10k.
6874  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [300 PH][BTC PPS 100%][EN/CN/RU] Sigmapool.com on: March 07, 2019, 03:33:43 AM
... then I guess any time anyone on the forum points out on topic blatant deception and scams, their posts should be deleted since that's "personal drama"?

i have clearly stated that i will tag the pool account if they do not remove the no fees lie as long as they don't reward the block fees, a few other members called out the same thing you did, the only difference between you and everyone else is that you took this matter personally and started to accuse campaign manager for being " easily bought" and then the whole personal drama started.

notice that this is the pool's thread not the signature campaign's thread, anything you have to say to the campaign manager shouldn't be here, you guys turned this topic to a complete mess.

i am not siding any of you, i am asking you to be reasonable, this is not the right place to point fingers to one another.
6875  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [300 PH][BTC PPS 100%][EN/CN/RU] Sigmapool.com on: March 07, 2019, 02:38:39 AM
Not sure if you are implying you don't understand that saying 100% PPS does NOT mean No Fee?

please quote a single word of me saying anything about whatever you mentioned in the above comment !

i stated that you started the personal drama, you know you did, i don't understand why are you going about me understanding 100% pps or not.  Roll Eyes

Need I say more?

you made your points a few times in the same thread. so the answer is probably NO , you don't.

6877  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [300 PH][BTC PPS 100%][EN/CN/RU] Sigmapool.com on: March 07, 2019, 01:53:48 AM
unless one of you deleted their comments then this is all i found

While I think complaining about users paying the Bitcoin network fee and trying to claim that is somehow the pool lying about charging fees is a bit of a stretch, keeping transaction fees should be noted somewhere if that is what is occurring.  I have sent Sigma a message asking him to make this point clear on his site, at the very least with an asterisk next to his 0 fees claim explaining his logic.  Hopefully we see some more transparency here in the coming days/weeks, or I may shut down the signature campaign.

There's still the issue of running a PPS pool and the REQUIRED balance and fees to reduce the risk of it going broke and the losses for those mining if that happens.
Try to remember back 6 & 5 years ago how that went with MtRed and BitAffNet ... ... ... ... ...

However, "no fees" is a plain and simple lie and you know it.
A 100% PPS pool payout is keeping transaction fees.
Charging a payout fee for all payouts is also a fee.

There is no stretch, you clearly are only interested in being paid for a campaign.
So clearly you can be easily bought ...

a concern has been raised, he as a campaign manager replied and said he did contact sigma and asked them to solve that issue, what you did later was personally attacking him for "being easily bought".

it was you who shifted the whole direction of this discussion to pure bullshit that benefits nobody, sorry !  i have nothing against you kano, but it's clear as day that it was you who started this drama.

now i hope we all can move on from here and stay on topic.

6880  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Warehouse - How to wire it? on: March 06, 2019, 10:04:21 PM
you can refer to my wiring method here >https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5087770.0

you will however need to make a few changes, 25amp mcb can only handle 3 S15s , also the wire size will have to increase a bit.
