6861  Other / Meta / Re: This thing with the accounts' farming has to stop... on: May 21, 2021, 06:58:00 AM
On the contrary, I often see farm accounts. Growing such a farm is also very popular today

I also agree to this.
I expect that certain farmed accounts can go after a while for low-requirement altcoin bounty campaigns, free raffles, probably some even buy merit (and then indeed exchange it between each other).
And as said, they can easily become an army oriented against a thread, an idea or a person/account.

I don't agree though that all account farmers are savvy. Some are really smart and the accounts will easily get pretty high ranks over time; but others are just plain shitposters.
6862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Angry on: May 20, 2021, 01:27:31 PM
I can afford it just sucks  and make me angry cause it will take 6 months to make it again.

Then you should be OK. Shit happens and hopefully in 6 months you'll be laughing when you'll be thinking back.

This is the "beauty" of over-reacting. If you didn't FOMO-sell (I hope you didn't!!), you didn't lose anything and the "6 months" you were expecting have pretty much already passed, i.e. the price has already recovered after yesterday's mess.
6863  Other / Off-topic / Re: Musk deleted his Twitter bio: no longer a technoking and Mars imperator, hooray! on: May 20, 2021, 10:18:49 AM
His next biography is Doge King?

"Fiat4ever" would be funnier.

Crypto Troll could be more appropriate.
6864  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Next Generation Hardware Wallet on: May 20, 2021, 10:15:50 AM
features you take into consideration when buying a hardware wallet

Some ideas would be:

1. Secure
2. Fully compatible at least with BIP39
3. Open source
4. Inexpensive
5. [could be nice to have] Similar look to something inexpensive we already have (USB stick, garage remote, gameboy, name it)
6. [could be nice to have] Optional weatherproof box for it, maybe with the logo inside, not outside.

PS. I already have HW though, like many others who will answer this.

Edit: obviously you'll have to make deals with most important software wallet providers to interface with your HW.
6865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 20, 2021, 08:25:44 AM

Bad Cointelegraph. They could've answered here in 2 lines too since they did read the question... Cheesy
6866  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 20, 2021, 08:17:15 AM
old, now unprofitable miners being turned off?

I've read about it, but then why aren't they plugged back in after the price went back to 40k levels?

There's stories of Mongolia moving their hardware to different places and shifting to green(er) energy.

This could be useful and I've missed it. Thanks.
6867  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Mini PC / Full Node. on: May 20, 2021, 08:01:36 AM
But the computer is already sold. Thx for your interest.

The topic doesn't have to be removed. You can easily just change the title to [SOLD] Mini PC / Full Node and lock the topic.
6868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 20, 2021, 07:50:21 AM
Any proper idea for why the global hash rate is decreasing? All I've found was a correlation with the price, but imho it's not enough.

6869  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges went down on: May 20, 2021, 07:43:35 AM
Is this really a normal thing? Or maybe some insider like exchanges will first the ones who will buy those dips or sells the top before its users?
It is totally 100% server issue on exchanges or there could be some manipulation that happened during these times?

If you are oriented towards conspiracy theories, you'll always find some.
Imho it's only server issue. The software and hardware is not designed for such huge traffic and they don't invest in it just because of a couple of such days.
Just imagine:
who to buy from if the users cannot place sell orders?
who to sell to if the users cannot place buy orders?
and more important: don't you think that the trade fees in this kind of days would be huge, probably bigger than playing inside games, (and with 0 risk) if the platform would work properly?
6870  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $9 Billion worth trades got liquidated in last 24 hours. on: May 20, 2021, 07:29:21 AM
Thoughts?

It was one of the days that separate the 3 groups: professional traders, trader wannabes and lucky profit takers.
Probably the trader wannabes went through hell.
The professional traders had a rather bad days, but they'll recover.
The lucky ones bought the dip and maybe also sold already.

The good thing is that all those positions liquidated will have to be bought back by those who want to continue trading.

I was worried for 1-2h while it has fallen to 30k and until it has recovered to 36-38k. And now we're back inside the expected range.
However, the fall in the hash rate still bothers me.
6871  Economy / Economics / Re: The Downfall of TSLA on: May 20, 2021, 07:19:59 AM
Tesla unveiled plans to design and build revolutionary new battery technology for 2022.
[~snip~]
Anyways, if someone wanted to claim tesla stock is overvalued, this might be one good place to start.

This is a good start indeed.
Many traders "buy the rumors" and "sell the news" and don't care much how true will these rumors prove to be as long as they get to earn a quick buck.
Elon knows all this and therefore knows how to feed them with the rumors they want to hear so the TSLA bubble stays inflated.

I've said already that Tesla is a over-hyped auto-maker wannabe. As long as they earn more from green certificates and Bitcoin than from building and selling cars I cannot rank them as proper automaker.
If they will come with a proper breakthrough, if they invent a much better (and also cheap enough) battery, then they'll have my praise. But not before. Not for rumors.
6872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Latest FUD from Elon Musk: Tesla Has Diamond Hands on: May 20, 2021, 07:10:26 AM
This guy is really a clown and he's making fun of us all, we have to let this clown know that he can't fool us anymore! His credibility is zero, he should fly to Mars alone and leave us once for good.

His tweets are like poop. A master of manipulation.

Still you follow, read his tweets and also back link to them to make them even more visible.
Don't you understand that any reaction and any share of his tweet right now is just against your interest?

Does that diamond means bitcoin?

This is a great question. What is he referring to? Is it surely Bitcoin? or maybe Doge? or Tesla stocks? or something else?
On the other hand, do we really care, actually?

holder always wins ,, not financial advice Roll Eyes

I totally agree. And I've seen today a wonderful drawing on this. (I've downsized it a little)

6873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: May 20, 2021, 07:00:10 AM
Have our standards already become so low that we consider the course of the current season to be exciting so far? Of the 4 races held so far, Hamilton has won 3 and once he was in 2nd place

Although it starts to somehow look like the previous season(s), it is interesting that there actually was a fight, proper strategy was needed and the victories were not as easy as in the past.
And by this I'd say it's for now a bit more interesting. Of course, only the results don't actually show this.

Anyway, new colors for Mclaren for the GP.

Beautiful.

Beautiful indeed. On the other hand, Aston Martin cars are also beautiful, but that's not enough.
The difference from Ferrari is uncomfortably thin and it may easily disappear at Monaco...I think that McLaren has to try harder. They do have Mercedes engines after all...

By the way, is my 2000th post! Yes, not that long as my 1000th, but it makes me very happy that it happens right here, in our foxhole, together with Marcel and the rest of the Dalton gang and also with other close ones, such as fillippone, icopress, NeuroticFish and all other ones <3

Cheers, friends! Wine in plastic bottle is served!!!

Congrats! And your merit-to-post ratio is impressive!
I wish you have similar ratio at the next milestones too, especially at 5k and 10k posts!
6875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make WAR on FUD that are directed at sobotaging our Bitcoin experiment on: May 20, 2021, 06:28:48 AM
See this is a common misconception and also based on misinformation that are spread on the Internet. China are also the biggest user of Hydro electricity in the world

That's correct. Still, in the dry season they may switch to coal-based electricity if the rivers no longer have enough debit.
And yep, it's a great example that since this is something normal, hence boring, it doesn't propagate as widely as the big bad coal based electricity feeding big bad bitcoin story.

S-ar putea sa ajute: HotNews a facut impreuna cu un consultant fiscal un film despre cum se completeaza Declaratia Unica, iar un "capitol" este despre criptomonede.

I can afford it just sucks  and make me angry cause it will take 6 months to make it again.  and I will have less money to spend on the bear market when we see 70-90% drops.

Then you should be OK. Shit happens and hopefully in 6 months you'll be laughing when you'll be thinking back.

and I will have less money to spend on the bear market when we see 70-90% drops.

This is a valid point. But unfortunately we cannot predict the future and we also don't have access to these news fast enough (at the point they are credible rumors).
Maybe next time you invest you try some sort of DCA over longer period of time (just with your luck maybe then it'll rise like crazy)
6878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Angry on: May 19, 2021, 12:46:21 PM
Now all my crypto 30% down.  and it will take 3 years to recover.

Did you invest only money you can afford to lose? Then you can easily wait 3 more years if need be.
You didn't? Too bad...
6879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl is not the best option as it seems on: May 19, 2021, 12:41:28 PM
Funny you mentioned HYIP's.

I had to. The pretty much obvious next stop for those impatient to "triple their 100$" is a hyip website. And the expected result is that they lose even that money...
6880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Been left with my late uncle's crypto accounts - need some advice on: May 19, 2021, 12:18:03 PM
I also have a card with a list of words in a row. They are pretty random, being onest put handwritten very clearly.

This may be all you actually need. Is it a list of 12 or 24 words? (Don't tell anyone those words!!)
Are those words all present in the list from https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt ?
If it's so it's the seed words and they are all you need to access the wallet.

once he showed me a break down down of letters and numbers (values maybe ?) looking back when he was trying to show me how to sign in etc.

Unfortunately I don't understand what's that. I may be completely wrong, but it may be related to even older models of hardware wallet.
Can you also tell what make (Trezor, Ledger, ...) and model (One, T, Nano S, Nano X) is the hardware wallet? Keep in mind that I wrote some of the current makes and models as examples, yours may be not in this list.
