6881  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flag against Livecoin (again) on: July 19, 2019, 08:27:42 AM
Seems appropriate, I was once a fan of the exchange after using it on multiple occasions might reconsider using their service if they can amend their ways. When I first saw the new signature, i thought they have resolve the scam accusation but seems they just ignore the worries of the community like every other shady businesse operator would had and still went on to created a new campaign to promote their services. Businesses that consider their reputation as a priority won't do such act.
6882  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is the human race getting more knowledgeable but losing wisdom ? on: July 19, 2019, 04:36:52 AM
The simple answer to your question would be yes, we're losing wisdom but yet the vast majority seem not to notice that, as they're confusing knowledge (which can be learnt) for wisdom (which comes with experience). Let me rephrase it in this manner, "Humans now concentrate on becoming intelligent while neglecting been wise".

Never heard of the Dunning-Kruger effect, (thanks for bringing that up). I just have to say the human race is becoming too dependant, foolish and greedy. We are now, so used to certain type of crime that when it does occurs we considered them usual and a part of our everyday life.

Quote
But the majority of the "noise" on the forum appears to be hype, scams and poor quality ICOs with a lot of users that know very little about the technology they are using and are vulnerable to re-invented old scams.

Just like i earlier said, we're becoming too greedy, foolish and also dependant on others for our decision making so what you just said above is as a result of that. Humans are easier influence and as a result of not been left out we tend to follow the crowd and that's the weakness these scam projects are capitalizing on. Selfishness also plays a role in this that's why you can see people promoting clear scams for few bitcoin. Humans now, only care about themselves.

Life itself is just a circle, things don't really changes is just gets rebranded. All you have said are true and accurate but you forgot to ask the most important question, how do we get oourselves back on track, how do we resolve this issue you just pointed out. That's what I'm interested in.

Don't think we'll see mikel obi in action. His services isn't that needed in the team as he didn't play any of the qualifiers. Maybe he was just called due to the respect the coach has for him and just maybe so he'll be awarded a medal before he retires believing this could be the last time he plays for Nigeria national team.

My suspicions were correct, Breaking News: Nigeria captain Mikel Obi confirms international retirement. source: BCCsport

I must say he have served his country in the best way possible to him. Putting in all his best for every game and won some numbers of medals with the team over the years (15years) maybe the 3rd position isn't that bad since he got to retired with a medal just as they (him & coach) must have planned all along as he didn't play much impact on field in the teams success this time around.  Wish him all the best and thanking him for the memories and service to country.

6884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc $300, $3000 on: July 18, 2019, 05:40:56 PM
Could Bitcoin's price return to $3000 again this year?

$3000?
Although this is unrealistic topics but it might happened. But look like you are on dream and most likely your dream isn't going to happen on this year at least. What I believe, we might not see bitcoin at $3K anymore at this year (just my opinion).

I'm with you on this one and considering bitcoin just left that price range couple of months ago during the bear market don't think we'll ever go that low again. A more realistic price would be between the $5000+ price range that's if bitcoin was to experience any further bear market before the ever expecting bull market occuring hopefully before and after the halving event. The funny thing is that, most individuals hopefully for bitcoin to fall that low again won't still buy if it does occur due to fear it might go down more or just mere procrastination.
6885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay 300 meters away from crypto haters because they can pollute your mindset. on: July 18, 2019, 03:45:07 PM
(Replying to your topic title), I don't believe in that saying instead here's is a qoute I live by "Keep your friend close but keep your enemies closer". Those haters you speak off can be classified as enemies of bitcoin (cryptocurrency in general). Let's take the most recent hater (enemie) as an example, As a Bitcoin enthusiast what message comes into you mind from President Donald Trump's tweet, mine was, he declared bitcoin wasn't a currency simple because it can't be regulated (no news there), that's to prove they (the government) can't control it which goes to show all the government want to do, is to have control over your money so they can detect your every move.

Haters (enemies) of bitcoin tend to show the flaw which helps developers perfect the technology and when they do show what they presume to be flaws but instead it's what make bitcoin special, not like any other currency in humans history. It indicates to me that I'm on the right track. I don't stay away from bitcoin haters instead I bring them closer, try to understand why they hate the technology, offer them help in understanding what bitcoin is all about.

Don't advicing everyone to do this though since some individuals are easily influence by other, the level at which you should keep them close or far should depends on your capacity to stand strong on what you believe in.
6886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My personal point of view as a beginner .... on: July 18, 2019, 12:55:05 PM
What I wanna say is let this forum be your guy and knowledge to BTC as all the older and knowledgeable members will help you out or will point you into right directions, I did gained a lot of help with being on this forum.

I must say the forum generally is doing her best in guiding newbies be it directly or indirectly and no doubt about users of the forum waiting to help new members get enlighten and educated on bitcoin and other aspects of the blockchain technology. Over my period of been active here I have notice a sudden increase in the zeal for users to assist each other especially after the introduction of the merit system. Not saying it wasn't there before but the merit system gave it more motivation. The moment you have a problem or misunderstanding and start a thread most users with little, sometimes (no knowledge) on solving that issue, are willing to help and that's a good thing (speaking of when those with knowledge on what's been discussed decides to assist you) since most media platforms out there don't have dedicated users like how Bitcointalk has.

The forum did educate me on most things I know in regards to understanding bitcoin and these education either happened directly through reading topic started on that particular subject by others or indirectly as regards to getting me motivated to carry-out personal research in understanding what the subject i encountering on the forum was all about.

It's safe to say the forum holds this key to everything you need to know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general and with that been said it's also ok to say the reason behind the creation of the forum has been achieved and the community will keep building on that. A determined newbie with little or no knowledge regarding bitcoin can acquired all he/she has to know  in matter of months by just been active (reading threads) on the right boards.
6887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2019 - Discussion Thread on: July 18, 2019, 11:25:03 AM
I thought you said you're Nigeria and you ought to support your team till the very end. Although, I knew you guys expected such from the players due to the team previous performance in the World cup and the African cup of nationals but honestly, winning the third place of the tournament still mean something cause some countries which has FIFA higher ranking than Nigeria went home empty handed.

It might mean something to others but not to us. And yes I'm a Nigeria but we played badly in this tournament getting lucky throughout with just a goal win difference. Reading online I heard the 20 year old goalkeeper did excellently just wondering why he wasn't used previously maybe it's time for the coach to go. I support my country and national team but they didn't leave up to expectations and can't see myself seating down to watch them struggle for third position. Did something better with my time. Congratulations to them though for wining the 3rd position but they can do better.
6888  Other / Serious discussion / Fighting unemployment by monetizing your passion. on: July 18, 2019, 04:50:29 AM
Considering the high rate of unemployment in the world is increasing rapidly (visible in some countries more than others) due to factor which are controllable like over population cause by migration, lack of skills, education, creativity etc but since those who're in charge of those sectors have failed, taking matters into our hands and not relying on the government could go a long way in reducing the unemployment level in some manner.

I have seen, heard and read about different individuals turn their passion into businesses (i.e monetizing their passion) but wonder why others haven't succeeded at doing so. I began to understand most individuals don't love what they do, they just do it for the money, that's why they find it difficult to put in more effort into improving when they aren't seeing rewards as expect. A quick example can also be seen in the cryptocommunity, crypto traders who don't have passion or developed passion for trading, find it difficult as they're just in for the money but for those who had or have developed passion can easily monetize that passion and profit from it. A crypto trader can monetize his trading passion in many ways like been an online coach, providing signs etc (not speaking about pump and dump scams).

Looked into other sections and found same problem, lack of love in what people do for money, is what deprive individuals of fighting unemployment with their passion. They tend to pick up someone else passion (just because it has already been established as a money making passion) example; blogging, which most of them plagiarized since they don't have the required skills in that area. It then result to them struggling to keep what they do profitable as it wasn't their passion in the first place. I believe strongly in capitalizing on monetizing our passion for fighting the unemployment level, what do you think, can we achieve a reduction (in unemployment level) with this?.
6889  Other / Meta / Re: Partial plagiarism in bounty program on: July 18, 2019, 02:43:43 AM
Using environmental understanding, If I did understand his OP clearly he's trying to say since most bounty participants post in similar manner (template) like weekly report etc is it a violation (resulting to ban) as his bounty account just go banned.

That account you linked in OP which i presume is yours wasn't banned for using same posting pattern (template) as you assume instead it was ban for copying someone's else work and presenting it as yours. Hopefully someone with right tools will look through your post history and post a proof soon.
6890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Telegram message link on: July 18, 2019, 01:39:17 AM
How about blocking my telegram , i have two accounts i can't use them properly ! one of them i can't subscribe in different Airdrop Groups and Channels , and the other i can't send messages and share my links  Undecided i don't know what's the reason exsactly , i've sent them a message to help me solve this problem , but i haven't recieved any respond  Lips sealed

You most have been reported numerous times by other users for spamming different group/sending them personal message they consider spams and as a result telegram has banned you from joining groups, channels or sending messages to groups or users who aren't in your contact list. You can contact the official telegram info spambot used for helping users with limited accounts regain their full functionality.

If you're guilty, you can block/delete your account by visiting the settings option > privacy and security > advance settings > delete my account if away for (than choose your preferred time range and you just have to be offline during that period to delete your account). As It's preferable to open a new telegram accounts, start a fresh and change your ways as guilty account hardly get off the spam list.

Congratulations, well deserved achievement. Once again the merit system has proven it's worth, (ranking up only deserving members to higher ranks). The way you started, I thought by now you would had been among the privilege few that had crossed the 1000 earned merit milestone but never the less you're doing just great especially as you're not a native english speaker. Keep doing what you're doing and hopefully you shall achieve more milestones. Enjoy your new rank.
6892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A New Milestone Achieved! on: July 17, 2019, 11:54:11 PM

As all good seems (in this case quality posts) shall be recognized and get rewarded it's just a matter of time.  Enjoy your new rank and ability to wear an avatar, you deserve it hope to see you rank up sooner or later to snr member. I got my money on Tunisia to cause an upset tonight. Simple bet. Parlayed with a City win that already took place (against West Ham) so I'm looking at 5/1. Sorry guys, I know many Nigerians are here but I think their slow starts in previous games will be punished again tonight!

Am with you on this one & also hoping it does happens as 3rd place is a poor result putting into consideration we missed last two edition after winning 2013 edition. We expected so much from the guys and they disappointed. But when you think about it the boys might not just play well themselves as 3rd position means nothing for a nation like Nigeria. We already lost and I'm sure many Nigerians won't be interested in watching the match, i know I won't. Just waiting for the finals to watch Mane display.
6894  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit System Evaluation - Can You Earn a 1000 Merit in a Year? on: July 17, 2019, 06:58:48 AM
In the next couple of hours you'll get ranked up to the hero member status and that's a milestone worth celebrating so i most congratulation you. Also for reaching another milestone of 1000 earned merit you too have to be celebrated as it's not an easy task because not everyone can boost of that. The merit system was introduced to highlight quality post at the same time to highlight quality users separating them from the average users and spammers. You're one of those quality users so congratulations once again.

About your tips although your intention were genuine others are free to interpret it in the way they deem fit but as for me it's just common knowledge (sense) as there are more advantages you get from spending your smerits, been friendly and helpful. We're mostly humans here so we can't denied the fact emotions controls our decision making also doing so make you a good forums user therefore it is recommended.
6895  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Local bitcoin trading site doing KYC NOW on: July 16, 2019, 04:48:19 PM
Possible it was as a result of complying with government regulations and also to reduce the high rate of scam on the exchange, it triggered the implemention of security measures to at least reduce the effect as scam general can't be eliminated but it can be reduced. Currently the KYC feature is the easiest way to achieving that goal (reducing the rate of scam) that's why it's service has to be employed. We have other alternative P2P exchange that don't require kyc you can used them if you're not comfortable with using Localbitcoin exchange.
6896  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 16, 2019, 07:23:09 AM
Hello
nothing to do , i did seems that my account will remain stucked, maybe i must pay to pay to unlock it?

Nope it's not stucked, try making two more post to see if your activity will increase to 30 but if it doesn't then just continue contributing to the forum as in the next 24-30 hours 14 new activity will be given to every account that have been active within the last 14 days taking your activity to 42 which is enough to rank you up since you already have the other requirement ( which is 1Merit) to rank you up to Junior member status.
6897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin proposes Ethereum use Bitcoincash blockchain for transactions on: July 16, 2019, 06:55:34 AM
Cheap publicity stunt that's what I suspect this to be and they won't succeed with whatever they're trying to achieve. So the second most traded cryptocurrency that haven't gotten much attention due to the bullish news surrounding bitcoin in the recent months decide to adopt the blockchain of the competitor (BCH) of their competitor (BTC) more like saying, "the enemie of my enemie is my friend".

This might just be an attempt to try to promote BCH as a better blockchain than BTC which will attract investors and slow down the rate at which bitcoin is killing all the altcoins. I don't buy whatever they're trying to sell. There most be another way that doesn't involve fake Bitcoin.
6898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup Of Nations 2019 - Discussion Thread on: July 16, 2019, 06:30:00 AM
The title is for Senegal this time to be honest, I just can’t see Algeria winning although it would be a nice story if they did as they are under dogs & have been all tournament.

I second you on this one, Senegal is more physical, most of them are very fast on the ball and also they're very skillful. If Senegal will learn from their mistakes especially Mane and shot at first sight instead of trying to dribble the goalkeeper he can easily score 2/3 goals. He did miss many chances against Tunisia just because he wanted to dribble pass the goalkeeper instead of acting as a strike (score with the easiest way possible). Also since most of the defenders are taller clearing set pieces won't be a problem. The only thing that can cause them goals are free kicks in dangerous position taken by Mahrez.
6899  Economy / Services / Re: ANYONE LIMITED 2 Btc giveaway bounty campaign on: July 16, 2019, 02:16:14 AM
Hey. Why didnt i get stakes for sig?

I posted 20+ times in the week.
Much better posts than half the garbage posters here.

Take your complain to the telegram group, the campaign manager is more active there and would answer your question although you should know it wasn't all about posting 20 times but distributing the post throughout the week that's a maximum of 5 posts were counted daily so you must have posted at least 5times in 4days each to be eligible to receive the stake for the week.
6900  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is it morally ethical to help run a smear campaign against a possible ponzi? on: July 15, 2019, 08:45:55 PM
Maybe you should think why they are willing to spend so much money on the campaign.

Same thought came into my mind, what's the gain for the user in question, what'll he/she profit from spending thousand in this campaign maybe he/she is also a apart of similar business operation and just trying to eliminate their competitor by exposing them through the campaign. A reasonable user with no other intention would had just started an accusation thread.

There's more to the story then what the users is just telling you therefore I would advice you distance yourself from the campaign as their intentions aren't genuine.
