This semi-auto offside technology seems like it can be very helpful in the World Cup. Sometimes referees can have big problems on detecting an offside even in the presence of the usual offside line technology. I assume that this new semi-auto one is going to be tested in an official tournament for the first time. If it becomes successful then we can see it in many leagues after the World Cup ends. Decreasing the number of mistakes to minimum must be utmost effort for the people in charge.
I welcome when there is a lot of technology that helps to minimize mistakes in football. But on the other hand I feel it will reduce the drama of football itself a bit. As I especially feel, what makes us more interested in the match is the drama, although sometimes I feel irritated when there is a referee's decision that is considered controversial.
If you welcome and accept well then you have to be able to let the drama you want go away and I wonder, you welcome it but you can't lose from the drama itself, how can that be. However, the development of that era will occur and we must be prepared for all the changes that occur, because we live in a world that is constantly evolving. After all, even though technology has been applied in football, drama will always come with the latest version. You can see how VAR works, even though it has been applied but with this technology the tension in football is still high, right? and football will still have its drama in every match.

Lazio have officially begin to negotiate with Marcelo and Sari really wants to get him to Rome. Also the rumors are they offered him a 3 years contract as that is nuts as he is already 34 but I have a feeling that he can still play at top level even when he's turning 37. I do hope Marcelo comes to Lazio as this team will fight for Europe spots again this year of Serie A.
Even though he is old, Marcelo's power is still very high considering the way he plays and contributes to the team. Yes he still deserves to play in a team at the top level, his ability is unquestionable. He will give something to the team he is strengthening I'm sure of that. His experience will be felt for the team.
I think Lazio played very poorly last season and if they want to buy an almost old player, it won't add to their comfort level. Marcelo is not a Ronaldo or even Ibrahimovic level player. It's not a player of that high calibre, although with the national team and Real Madrid he has achieved victories. But this time his transition looks like a relegation because of his age.
See how Thiago Silva is at Chelsea, even Serie A and Premier League in reality the Premier League gameplay is tougher but Thiago Silva can do it well. Thiago Silva is now 37 years old and Marcelo is now 34 years old, at that age Marcelo deserves to play in Serie A. If Marcelo has not decided to retire, then accepting an offer from Lazio is a good choice. You shouldn't equate or compare attacking players with defenders, that's an inappropriate comparison.

Jack Harrison is rumoured to sign for Newcastle. I think that he is a capable winger and he is young as well. He can play as left winger and right winger both. Newcastle are trying to build a team that can play for upper places in the league standings. Harrison would be a nice choice. They still need to continue to make many transfers to get stronger. They are having difficulties in bringing world stars for now but this can happen as well in time. They need to be more successful this season.
After all, when the new ownership arrived they said that they would not rush to build a team, they really respect the process and are also very compliant in financial fair play. Also, star players will consider joining the team whether playing in a european league or not, like the Champions League and Europa League maybe, so naturally they will need time to build a better team. But yes, with the money they have then at least Newcastle have a guarantee that they will become a top-ranked team from time to time. If at the end of the season Newcastle can be in the top four, then of course they will not be difficult to sign a star player despite the high price.

Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane managed to take the lead over Mohamed Salah and Edouard Mendy which was held in Morocco as reported by The Sun.
The award that Mane got became a pride for Bayern Munich as the owner of Sadio Mane who was bought for £35 million from Liverpool
Mane deserves to win the award, which he did. Congratulations to the Bayern Munich star, he helped his country Senegal win the nations cup, and to qualify for the world cup, he was also important to his former club Liverpool in all they achieved last season, so he did enough to be the best player in Africa. This is the second time Mane is winning this award, and i do not think this is going to be his last, he is a great player, and he is going to achieve more success in Bayern and Senegal, so i am rooting for him to win the award more than twice, and join legendary players like Yaya Toure and Samuel Eto'o that have won African footballer of the year award more than twice.
I think awards like this are only for players with attacking positions, because they will see how the player has a good number of goals. That way, a player who plays as a goalkeeper, most of them will be difficult to achieve such an award. Because in my view Edouard Mendy is also very good playing for Chelsea and also for his country which is the same as the country where Mane plays. So I think awards like this don't need to involve goalkeepers, if they involve goalkeepers then the competition is just enough with goalkeepers not mixed in the nominations of strikers and goalkeepers it will be very lame.

There are some rumours like Manchester United and Chelsea are in a race to sign Benjamin Pavard now. For now this doesn't seem to be a strong rumour but we would see what will happen in the next days. I have really liked Pavard so far. He is playing in the France national team too as you know. I believe he would be a solid right back for both of the teams interested. Manchester United have Wan-Bissaka and Dalot already but maybe they are thinking of selling one of them if this transfer happens. On the other hand Chelsea are close to sell Azpilicueta to Barcelona so it might be the reason of their interest.
It would be a shame if Benjamin Pavard went to Manchester United, because with his contract at Bayern Munich which still has at least two more seasons until 2024 if Benjamin Pavard stays at Bayern then Benjamin Pavard will continue to play in the Champions League. That experience will be very important, of course, but if Benjamin Pavard goes to Manchester United then the experience of continuing to play in the Champions League will be lost. Therefore, I think if Benjamin Pavard is going to leave, it would be better to choose Chelsea because for next season at least Benjamin Pavard is guaranteed to play in the Champions League. Moreover, Tuchel really likes defenders who come from France and Tuchel too, at least has proven to be a great coach in big teams too.

So, those new players also get a cut of their salary? Or get a lower salary than the expected salary they want?
It is very pity that Barcelona players get a cut of their salaries whereas the club is always trying to add more players. I think it is time to stop buying new players and focus on planning how to increase the players' salaries. Sure, getting a cut in salary may influence the psychology of the players. They may be lazy to play or they may not focus on playing.
Hemm a pay cut can affect the psychology of the players on the field and make them sound stressed?

In this case, if the Barcelona players feel uncomfortable, it can be like what De Jong did. But on the contrary, Barcelona really provides good feedback in designing financial improvements. I think not only Barcelona, but other clubs will also do the same when a club's finances don't reach the target. Simply put, you focus too much on the nominal debt that Barcelona has, but forget the ratio that this club generates per month. Jersey sales, investment business, and funds from donors who are ready to make many offers.
Salary deductions are not carried out by force, meaning that there is a negotiation in it so that an agreement is reached. So, even though some of the players have had their pay cut, they are not psychologically depressed. You also have to know, the new players that Barcelona bring in are basically players who really want to play for Barcelona, meaning they are not forced to choose Barcelona for example like Lewandowski and Rapinha. Both players have a strong desire to play at Barcelona, so they no longer consider the financial factors that are being experienced by Barcelona.

Germany's victory was a predictable victory, so it's no wonder that many may have won from this match. Because the odds are still fairly decent, the meaning is not too low because after all, as a very favorite team but still getting odds in the 1.30 range it is still a good and decent odds. Also, Germany not only won in final score only but Germany also won in all stats so yes, it's a good result. Furthermore, it doesn't matter which opponent Germany will face in the semi-finals whether it is France or Netherlands, it is a strong opponent as well.

I knew of one case where 2 lower division clubs in Georgia were caught for match-fixing. These clubs were fined only $3k each. That's all the punishment. At the same time no one knows how much money they were able to earn through dishonest means. Therefore, such games will occur often, because the punishment is too weak.

Strange punishment. Probably this case remained at the "local" level because any sports federation would have issued a tougher punishment for the clubs that were caught on fixed games. Maybe it was some kind of scandal without direct evidence, so the clubs were fined on some formal pretext, but the underlying crime was not proven. However, it is obvious that the smaller the level of competition, the more chaos, corruption and dirty deeds.
Most cases happen in low level competition or local as you say, rigging games in that situation will be an easy job for them even if the sport is known because they have the advantage over it and they have the control and connections needed.

The people watching it will of course say that there's cheating but the organization behind it don't have to worry because it's just a local competition and the people will eventually forget it or they will keep it under wraps and bribe the complainant.
Some say it is also like the case of elephant football and indeed, cases such as match-fixing in a sport are very vulnerable to occur. If they are only punished with light sentences then obviously they don't have a large community or weak regulations, but if the regulations are strong and have many communities then of course the punishment will be very heavy. If cases like that continue to happen it will not only damage gambling but damage the sport itself, maybe not as a whole but still the case will have a bad impact on their circle.

Today, the neighbouring countries Germany and Austria meet. There's probably no doubt that Germany will win this game and Austria won't be able to score. Judging by the way Germany has played in previous games against strong teams, Austria has no chance today. I'm sure Germany will make it to the next round.
Germany and Austria both of teams had very strong defensive during this tournament because on the group stage Germany never to conceded goals and Austria only conceded 1 goals from England so i assume whoever the winner of this match the score will very slim but indeed without doubted Germany is the favourite and the current odds for Germany is @1.29 indeed this quite low but it is decent to try because for every statistics for both of them showed Germany is too strong for Austria
Although in the group stage Austria did not concede many goals, Austria also did not have many goals. So in this case, Austria seems to have no hope of winning, because Austria is not good at scoring goals but maybe Austria will play more defensively. But even so I think Germany will still have the ability to score in normal time, so betting for Germany to win or maybe betting with the option Under 3 goals or below still has pretty good odds.

i think transfer process Gleison Bremer from Torino is very quick that only few days after losing De Ligt Juventus has been finished Bremer transfer and the fee is 49 millions Euro and he will get 5 years contract until 2027 and according to Serie A players statistics Gleison Bremer recognized as the best defender on Serie A last season and from matches statistics he beat Matthijs de Ligt, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Milan Skriniar so Juventus has just made good decision by buying him

Juventus were lucky enough to get Gleison Bremer, from the financial side, Juventus made a profit by selling de Ligt for €67M and getting a replacement for €49M. Many people say that Bremer is the successor of Chiellini. We'll see how he looks in Serie A next month. I've also heard rumors that Juventus want an Argentine midfielder (Leandro Paredes), what do you think? whether this transfer will be completed quickly like the transfer of Bremer?
However, Torino and Juventus are in the same area of Turin so Bremer doesn't need long to adapt. So yes, if Bremer was indeed declared the best defender last season then of course this was a very great transfer by Juventus, because it did not have obstacles and or long negotiations in recruiting Bremer. About Leandro Paredes I'm personally not so sure, but if Juventus wanted him then it looks like it would be an easy and quick transaction too. But Leandro Paredes is still under contract until at least 2024 and also at the age of 28 I'm not so sure, because Leandro Paredes' performance is also not very consistent and has even declined so far at PSG.
6891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 21, 2022, 01:44:30 PM
This is why casinos are the most profitable industry, many people are not playing to win, they all know that there is a house edge and they will eventually lose but based on the study, people are buying entertainment.

Of course people are paying for entertainment.  I vast majority of the people gambling must realize the odds are stacked against them.  They do it because the idea of maybe hitting it rich and having the best night ever is worth paying for.  Sure, most people don't have that experience, but if you keep playing long enough eventually you'll get a decent win worth celebrating.  The rush of maybe having today be the day you get the win of your life is too much for some to resist.  They get addicted to chasing that rush.  Like an athlete changing teams hoping to celebrate another championship.
From the experience I have playing continuously it still won't give me any benefits, even though winning is no longer a top priority but when I lose too often then I start to feel tired. Because I personally cannot ignore that entertainment and fun in gambling can be obtained when we get more wins and not losses. But maybe, the way they gamble is the same as buying entertainment, it may have a different way, because if they play with friends even through online gambling, it's still fun. But if it is only done alone for a long time, then the feeling of tiredness and boredom will still be a feeling that cannot be eliminated.

Barcelona is the team that is most actively moving to bring in the players they want. They also managed to get some players to strengthen them next season. Although with limited capital they were able to silence some people who doubted some transfers which they found difficult to see from their financial point of view. Now they are better prepared, I see their strength will return to enliven the title race.
They talk about financial constraints in the Barcelona team, but looking at the way they've gone about signing players that desired and wanted this summer, bringing in the likes of Lewandowski and Rafinha to the club, and these two deals are reasonable pieces of business that the club have done. With the players they've signed this season,I am optimistic that the team will go beyond people's expectation next season. It will be good to hear that they were able to win the Lalliga with this squad and also the Champions league.
It's too early in my opinion to talk about how they will win the La Liga trophy or even the Champions League. We have to see their game first before talking about that big thing. Indeed, the players they brought in are quality players, but it would be nice to see the contribution they made to the team. I personally want to see how far their game can promise to achieve something big.
But from one of the existing news portals I got a quote from Nagelsmann which said, "Nagelsmann is surprised at Barcelona, has no money but keeps spending." That's pretty much the quote I got and if I think about it, there's even some truth to it, there's even something else about "Barcelona can buy players without money". Even far from the existence of quotes like that there are those who reveal that only Barcelona so far as a safe team with a lot of debt, because when a team already has a lot of debt and or can't pay player salaries, the club will get sanctions or penalties. Well, maybe for example like Parma in Serie A which went bankrupt and then was forced to be relegated, but in Barcelona with piling debts and also many players' salaries that were delayed and even, some players were affected by salary reductions but so far Barcelona is still safe and even Barcelona continues buy players at high prices.

Manchester United have won all their preseason games this summer. Erik Ten Hag is actually doing a great job for the club and the new coach as he doesn't was to welcome defeats. Their game against Crystal palace was rather an easy win for United. Although united fans booed Harry Maguire when ever the ball was in his possession and it's humiliating and a very hard time for the defender. Let's hope before the season starts, Maguire's performance would be better and fans would have calm their nerves.
In pre-season matches, Manchester United can indeed be said to be better than their game last season, it looks like they have made a lot of changes. But I wouldn't be too quick to conclude that they're really ready now. Because the pressure in the Premier League with pre-season is very much different. But I won't deny that their game is better for the few games they've played.
About Maguire I think it is Erik ten Hag's responsibility because it was Erik ten Hag himself who asked Maguire to stay, if later the Manchester United defense went into chaos then I believe Maguire might be eliminated as a player who is more on the bench and or immediately sold. But if Maguire really can change for the better then of course, Manchester United's defense will be strong and that will be a big hope and also, giving the captain's armband to Maguire I think it's something that is not right.

In Bayern Munich's decisive victory over DC United at Audi Field Stadium in Washington, USA, Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt both made outstanding debuts. Mane, who recently moved from Liverpool, did not have to wait long to score for Munich from the penalty spot. Both players scored on their debuts.
De Ligt, a recent addition from Juventus, scored the  goal after Bayern substituted the first 11 players in the second half. He did so by volleying a left-footed volley from a corner. In this friendly game, Bayern Munich defeated DC United 6-2.
That's great, Mane not only scored but Mane also provided assists for Gnabry's goal. Also, about Mane I might say Mane has had enough time to train with Bayern Munich, so I think it's natural in this match Mane scored. But about de Ligt, even he has just signed his move and also, in this match de Ligt only played for at least 11 minutes, but this defender who is even new to the team can score a goal and of course that is very extraordinary.
6895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 20, 2022, 11:41:51 PM
Juventus were looking for a centre-back after seeing that de Ligt was about to sign for Bayern Munich. They have made their signing already too. They were in a race to sign Torino defender Bremer and they won it. The deal has been completed for a fee of 41 million euros. He is also very young for a centre-back and he is a good player. They have signed him for around half the money they have sold de Ligt to Bayern Munich. Therefore it is a very favorable agreement for them.
It was a quick transfer made by Juventus, when Bayern Munich officially signed de Ligt and the day after that Juventus quickly signed Bremer. Even though these two players are of different ages, they are both still relatively young and also, both have the same contract until 2027. Well, hopefully Juventus' quick transaction is the right move, because choosing players for the defense is very risky. But yes, because Bremer previously played for Torino it doesn't seem like it will take long for Bremer to adapt and it's a good thing to build chemistry on the pitch.
6896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 20, 2022, 05:17:44 PM
I feel the transfer market getting tighter as it closes. Unlike at the beginning of the transfer market, most teams seemed relaxed in finding the desired player. After the period Haaland and Nunez officially became part of the English Premier League, the contestants began to move quickly. Chelsea for example, now they are the busiest team I have seen compared to other teams.

Besides that, Tottenham are also no less busy with Chelsea, it can be see from some names associated with Tottenham transfers this season, such as defender Piero Hincapie who has attract the interest of Antonio Conte, even strikers like Zaniolo have also can not be separated from the target of Tottenham this season. But I noticed Conte see to be a bit more focus on finding defenders, if you look at the performance from last season there is an improvement in Tottenham's defense this season, I see from the total goals conceded during the Premier League matchs
Indeed, Tottenham need a stronger defense because in attack I think Tottenham are doing well. But indeed, if they want to be safer next season at least they need additional new players. Moreover, Tottenham will play in the Champions League next season, so of course Tottenham must have second-tier players who also have good quality. I think it's natural for something like this to happen, because when the transfer window is about to close it will make them have to make a final decision quickly, of course it's very possible that they will do everything they can to make the player they want successful in signing.
6897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 20, 2022, 03:50:34 PM
It's time for Leo Messi to open his preseason account against Kawasaki. A new season brings a new beginning. In the game of football, Messi is one of the legends. When the season begins, you never know what he will become. When Messi looks like this, I love it. It looks like he is prepared for the season. This season, he should be able to accomplish more than ever before.
I'm curious, are there players who are not ready for the new season, moreover Messi is a legendary player who of course Messi will always be ready to start the new season. Ready or not their players will always be required to be ready because this is the way they choose, what makes the difference is the performance from time to time maybe and or of course there will be changes. So yes, I think it's a natural thing to happen, but for Messi at 35 then I don't think there's a need to put too much pressure on him.
6898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: July 20, 2022, 02:56:28 PM
Argentina will be stronger if they play together with team work. Everyone knows Messi is the most important player in the team but that shouldn't dispute against the idea of team work and team spirit. Every player has their different role to play in the squad and if this roles are carried out effectively and efficiently the team will do a lot better in the coming World Cup.
I think all teams will also do team work to be stronger and better and it's not only about Argentina, even though this Argentina has a lot of great players but I personally wouldn't expect too much with Argentina. The number of star players in the national team will not guarantee good results either, because in the world cup the teams that only have a mediocre squad can be very good in the match. I'm just giving an overview of Denmark they don't have many star players in the squad but in reality, their gameplay is very tight and has a very strong looking power. Therefore, I personally don't expect too much from a team like Argentina, but if they can win the title then obviously it's a good achievement and they deserve it.
6899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 20, 2022, 01:03:32 PM
With the departure of Lewandoski, many expect Bayern bring in a proper no. 9. Although Mane isn’t a like-for-like option but I am convinced that he is going to score many goals and almost replace Lewandoski. He might be deployed as a speedy target man, something similar to Jamie Vardy at Leicester City and Kylian Mbappé at PSG. Mane has proven that he can score from all over the pitch, with his decisiveness in front of goal from wherever he operates. So I strongly believe that he can excel as a no. 9, and there is little or no doubt that he'd be great at the job in Lewandoski’s absence.

Bayern Munich are interested in bringing Harry Kane for his place but I don't expect this deal to happen. There isn't any reason for Harry Kane to leave his team now and I don't have an expectation from the team to let him go too. Mbappe isn't leaving the team anytime soon. Jamie Vardy is a good striker really but I don't think that Bayern Munich will think of signing him either. But maybe he could still be one of the last alternatives. They would chase better strikers first.
@Velvet78, what @CryptocurencyKing meant about Vardy and Mbappe was as a player parable by being a target position in the game, not Bayern Munich's intention to sign him. Lol! After all, which team will sign Mbappe lol, he has even got everything at PSG, so don't expect Mbappe to leave PSG easily. Because even the king of the Champions League Real Madrid can still be rejected by Mbappe, especially other teams whose achievements in the Champions League are not as good as Real Madrid. As for Kane, it's just a plan, the deal won't happen now but Bayern Munich will continue to monitor it.

I see that Roma have completed the deal of Paulo Dybala finally. It is a really good transfer I believe as I said before. He has signed a three-year contract. As he is 28 years old I expect to see him being very beneficial for a few years. I have a feeling like he will start performing much better at Roma and both sides will be contented with each other. Roma have made four signings already and only one of them wasn't a free transfer. They spent only 7 million euros which were for Zeki Celik from Lille. I expect to see more signings in the coming days.
Maybe it's a good deal for AS Roma, but it doesn't look so good for Dybala. Because Dybala's salary at Rome is actually lower than the salary he got at Juventus, the reason Dybala did not renew his contract at Juventus was because Dybala wanted to get a higher salary but this desire did not materialize. For that reason, I don't think Dybala is very happy playing at Roma because he basically doesn't have a club after his contract expired at Juventus at the end of June and Roma are the only team that still wants to sign Dybala and no other club. So yes, for that reason this deal is good for Roma themselves and not for Dybala, which is a shame.
