6882  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Chart] Bitcoin Summer Outlook: New ATH Coming Soon? on: September 14, 2021, 09:40:32 AM
To me this just means price will be more parabolic when eventually new ATH is reached, so no real loss long-term.

Is it bad to say that I do hope some predictions surrounding the end of the parabola come true, at least for this "cycle" pending the next halving? Not that I'd not enjoy another x5 from current prices, I'd be as thrilled as the next guy. But since I'm unlikely to call it quits even then, I do see myself preferring a very, very, slow burn to 150k or thereabouts and then actually staying above 6 digits for most of the next few years.

All scenarios are equal in the long term though, but I feel more "security" in the latter.
6883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 14, 2021, 08:38:52 AM
@swogerino: Early season, so all kinds of records will look possible. Both yellows were very low. This week 15 points wins it, and that's the gap between 1st and 40th position, so no one should be counting on their positions to remain after only 10% of the season.

Definitely a good start for me here AND in Serie A. This is what happens when I just go with the expected outcomes and don't always hope for upsets haha. Gotta say there will surely be someone getting 2 yellows in a row. This pool is full of pretty damn good bastards.

I personally have little doubt about the quality of Liverpool's scoring form. Something is wrong there (just my opinion). Mane doesn't want to assist anyone, TAA also had some irrational attempts.

I don't mind TAA doing that as long as he continues his fine rate of assist. England playing him in midfield seemed to have put his off course for a while... and Mane, yeah, I think he's frustrated with himself too. As long as he keeps trying, I don't mind. We just need them to keep creating and trying. The danger is when they start losing confidence.

it is really strange that I am finding even correct scores now, probably because I play for fun here and not to win money,of course the final aim is to get a share of the pool but it is different than betting exclusively to win money.

Trust me, it's not so strange to perform better without the burden of betting money sometimes! I am enjoying this different approach to the season as well. Why don't you think it'll last? toma practically led 90% of last season!

Best of luck on the outright bets, I was planning on taking a couple of future bets like over/under wins on certain teams but I skipped on the bets due to the survivor pools.

For the MNF game i've got my bet on the Ravens-4.5@1.90 and a bit more on the moneyline, I think they'll win by at least a touchdown but the Raiders is a team that can't be underestimated.

And good luck to your survivor pools! I played them 3/4 years ago when presented on a grid, helped guys like me to visually see (since I knew and still know nothing about the sport).

I've got tonight's bet on 4th leg of Last Man Standing on YES this time. Time to snag it all with a positive outlook, no?
6886  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: September 13, 2021, 05:58:33 PM
Are you sure super boosts are listed there? Or only normal boosts?
Afaik the super boosts are only available for specific markets like for example if the super boost is available for soccer it can only be applied to correct score unlike the normal boost where you can use it on most markets.

Every boost is listed there. Super and regular. Super will be the very first one top left. But the easiest is always to check Special Offers channel in Clubtalk. Only the most recent offer is active and there, you'll find the detail of the Super Boost. Most 10% and 20% are for any market, unless specified. I only recall correct score and first goalscorer super boosts that are specific.

Everton vs Burnley tonight, not the most entertaining game in the PL but something to consider regarding a bet. What do you think guys? I have a feeling Dyche’s men will set up to be hard to best as usual, a compact unit with everybody behind the ball. A 0-0 might not be a bad punt here?

If I were betting on tonight, which I'm not, for sure 0-0 and 0-1 seem the best value bets. But my prediction is firmly with the favourites...
6887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Exchanges See Large Bitcoin Outflows BTC balance of Coinbase on: September 13, 2021, 02:12:07 PM
Yeah, not sure this exchange inflow outflow really says anything. The last similar news was a lack of balances at Coinbase, and that didn't stop price from breaking support and sitting where it is now.

Maybe Coinbase no longer is a marker any longer, at least not for institutional movements. Retail people are not still keeping coins there are they?
6888  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Chart] Bitcoin Summer Outlook: New ATH Coming Soon? on: September 13, 2021, 01:17:23 PM
Yeah looking at the above chart from back in middle of Aug, seems that the POV was around $56K. Meaning that most people entered at around that price. This is important because it means that those which are fearful are probably wanting to get out at break even from a near 50% loss.

I actually had a limit sell order to hedge some of my stack around $54-55K and unfortunately looks like I got front run by about $1-2k or so. Seems most of the other traders were also thinking the same and sold before those levels.

So if those levels clear, means we should hit new ATH sometime in Oct/Nov.

Had a very modest sell order even at 53.5 k and just this week had to accept a spot at 47 as could not wait much longer. That was when 51 seemed to hold very well, so was slightly surprised the depth changed quickly and the slope proved so slippery thereafter.

Still. No harm done and Nov ATH suits well with the gentle but steady rise of 200MA.
6889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 13, 2021, 08:23:15 AM
It feels good to be again in the top of the standings and I am not getting used to it yet although I am here since three consecutive weeks together with this.I am also in the fight for the yellow cap but I highly doubt I can do much better in the remaining game of Everton, most probably everyone in the pool has predicted an Everton win which is the most common prediction.

Well done indeed to you and also slaman29 for getting top points shared with you. Have never been this long at or near to the top myself, but definitely, going with the favourites has proven an effective strategy as when there are upsets like at Spurs no one else gets it anyway.

Need to stick to my guns more too. Switched Liverpool scores to 0-4 before the game. Strange more people went for that score than 0-3!
6890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: September 13, 2021, 07:06:24 AM
OK so I passed the 2nd leg but I think I failed still as I've just realised now that the 3rd leg was about 2 hours away from the 2nd one, and past midnight. Match is even over now.

So there was a window to bet in between the first match settling and the third one starting, but I wasn't able to stay up so late, so good luck to whomever managed to stay on and bet! I know I'm out haha.
6891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: September 13, 2021, 06:38:40 AM
So is it worth it to bet on the sidebet though? they rarely hit but sometimes It could go over 10x lol. Bust it is the only sidebet that I have tried so far and the maximum multiplier that I got was 2x

I can't say. Again, don't take my suggestions as advice!

A regular dealer chance to bust is approximately 28%, just over 1 in 4 hands, hence why I wait for a 3-streak no bust from dealer before I start martingaling. But Freebet Blackjack uses 4 decks and seems to end the shoe some time in the middle, so I don't know how that affects probability, but I figure it's probably about the same. You also can't control how players hit (you know, those guys hitting on hard 20, for example) and how that affects dealer bust probability but I believe it evens out over time

Check  the Help (question mark) section and look under Payouts.

Are you sure you only got 2x? 4-card bust pays out 2:1 (effectively a 3x).

Just realised that Packers are playing soon and they are also in the selection for the 2nd leg of Last Man Standing. I don't know much about anything but Packers are really highly rated outside of the obvious favourites. Would have waited for odds on them to improve but in case they win tomorrow, I've booked in my last outright.

@ralle14 I made early outrights on 5 teams, using the daily boost of course;) So my final list of outrights for Super Bowl winner, even bets on each:
Steelers @37.3
Dolphins @34
Patriots @34
Seahawks @25.2
Packers @14.2

Re Last Man Standing, last season, by the way, was NFL's historic high of TDs scored. The trend, apparently has been going up every season. It was 4.6 TDs per game on average, crazy. That's one every quarter right?

I'm such a Google expert...
6893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: September 12, 2021, 06:35:22 PM
It's not just one bad match. Don't you remember what happened in the Euro Cup? Turkey lost all of their matches and finished at the rock bottom of their group. Their bad form just got extended to World Cup Qualifiers. And this was the reason why Şenol Güneş was fired. Personally I felt that it was a bit harsh, as Güneş was the coach when they had the famous victory over Netherlands a few months back. Still, there is a chance of redemption, IMO. They still have a chance for qualifying for the world cup.

I was referring to an earlier discussion of one big loss causing an entire team's morale to deplete, which was not the case, as it was a string of bad games. And a Covid season problem to add.

Ignoring their 2002 run (which I happened to witness as well) Güneş wasn't just the architect of that Dutch win but the French win as I mentioned not long after he took over.  Anyway, no use discussing further what's done. Just always makes it slightly sad that it's one game that seemed to have triggered it after the memories he's given me betting on them haha. I blame the players more but fair enough, the coach is paid to shoulder responsibility.
6894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 05:33:00 PM
Heh Thiago, almost let Bamford find a way back in for Leeds with that careless, careless, giveaway of the ball. Thought we'd give Leeds a hammering but it came about in a rather strained way as once more, red card changed the game in some strange way as we lost Elliot and game halted for 5 mins. Anyway, bagged the win, poor Mane trying everything to get on the sheet and got the goal he fully deserved (phew!).

I'm so sorry to say this but Ole Gunner Solskjaer is very poor tactically, he plays with the help of he's team against top notch teams you'll see how he handles matches poorly.
The season is still a long way to go we'll get to see this, when he doesn't win a trophy with this team then Manchester United should get him sacked immediately.
I can remember vividly the match against Villarreal, we had the chance to win that game but Ole Gunner Solskjaer was pretty poor at he's decision making.

No need to be sorry, it's true. That Villareal penalty lineup? That cleared all doubts. I think, as much as I can respect a Utd player, OGS was one of the best, a poacher at heart, but his performance as a manager has been papered over by a filthy rich balance sheet and a squad filled with superstars who've actually as a whole underperformed so they've been worse than the sum of their parts.

Any other manager with that kind of financial muscle on the field would be fired for a trophyless season. Yet they go again and reward him with... Ronaldo? Fearsome squad they got though...
6895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: September 12, 2021, 04:52:57 PM
Missed the first half, so haven't even seen the Salah goal but he won me my HT 1x2 bet AND Salah any time to score, so I couldn't be happier, really. Reading the stats and analysis made me double down on another 2nd half Liverpool win and Fabinho seems to have won me that early.

Struijk off now for that tackle on Elliott... normally positive for a team 2 goals in front, but only problem is I predicted 4-0 and if Leeds park the bus after this, it's going to be tough...

@DIA7: good tip on 2-1, it's the most common score and close score for favourites to win, even without looking stats up, it's how you get 1-0, 3-2, 3-1 all covered for close scores as well.

I think Norwich cant do a single thing in this league, its like they are lost. Arsenal winning against the worst team in the league gets them the points on the board and maybe they wake up after this.

It's really strange, isn't it? The last time they got promoted just 2 seasons ago, also as Champions, they went right back down finishing bottom of the league, scoring barely half a goal per game. At least that time, Pukki seemed to get them off to good scoring at times, including THAT famous comeback win against Citeh.

This time, one penalty is all they've had in 4 games. It's really looking grim for them.
6896  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you scared? on: September 12, 2021, 04:25:27 PM
The last time I was a teeny bit afraid, I don't mind admitting, was 18 months ago.
The only time I was utterly disappointed was after the 2017 crash. Bitcoin crashed from the $20.000 mark within a few days, it was literally jaw dropping to see the value of my BTC constantly decreasing.

That crash was enough to quit Bitcointalk and crypto in general, only to return back in 2020. It was the only time I was afraid and disappointed at the same time.

Disappointment seems a bit strange, given how much valuation had already expanded from the start of the year. I mean, from below $1000 to five-figure dollar sums? What exactly were you expecting, McAfee's vision to come true in 2017? Wink  In fact, one guy even called it quits when $10k was reached for the first time. Such was their fear that the rise was too much, too fast (tried to find the thread, I even spoke to him, but maybe I'll be more motivated another time).

Fear, I'd understand. I spoke to not a few old-timers (I was fresh-faced at the time, maybe still am, dunno) and even before Bitcoin was heading to 10k, just fresh after ATH, people were saying this was it.They turned out to be wrong, but that clarity took a couple of years at least to arrive for most.
6897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going to $53k or down to $48k? (Bullish Scenario) on: September 12, 2021, 01:35:24 PM
We're just crossing the 50 and 200 day averages which are rising, still indicating positive momentum beyond this short term action yet price alone is continuing negatively.   I'd estimate for the moment that we can revise prices at August beginning which would be the sub 40k perhaps 38k or so or the lowest bar on this chart.   Thats just a rough take and it could still be that the first low seen recently is also the bottom price for this month, it has not indicated which yet certainly I think it'd bounce again at that point speculatively.

Would be sort of a slight let down for me to see sub40k again so soon, not that I ever thought we would be leaving that permanently, just thought it would not be revisited so quickly, especially after that August show of consolidating strength.

Then again, if it results in an extreme bounce, especially with 200MA adding to that, could be enough for persistent growth over the next few weeks and then inertia preventing another retracement beneath 50k. Still plenty of time before final quarter to see all this noise play out.
6898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 11:25:17 AM
The 1st place in the Premier League standings seems to be held by Man United, even though Liverpool will be against a weak team Leeds United but to be able to win by a goal difference of 4 is not an easy task.

The match will be played at Elland Road, and this condition will usually make the host play fiercely. In their first 3 matches in the Premier League, Leeds hasn't won once, and I think they definitely want to change that situation but this time their opponent is Liverpool, even though they faced Liverpool with all their might, Liverpool is still a big team that is hard to beat. I guess Leeds will aim for a draw, while Liverpool will aim to win.

Maybe stop copy-pasting stuff badly rewritten from the internet, and then taping on your own random uninformed drivel. Leeds never aims for a draw. Also, don't know what the hell people like you been watching (of course, I know you've never watched a single game hence the magical fantasy you're spouting), Leeds have been called a lot of things, but weak is the first I've heard.

Sigh, ended up not being too tough for me actually. Was having an exact score on the first game all the way till final minute injury time damn. And then redeemed with 3 points from an exact score on Atletic Bilbao.

Would still have preferred 2 close scores though, those slam points so precious.

I tried your recommendation on freebet Blacjack and Im currently up like 3-4 mbtc so far in two days, betting 0.2 mbtc for each round. So far so good and I think this is my new favourite BJ lol. Totally love the free double, I rarely use the free split but its pretty nice to have the free double because the next card could be pretty bad sometimes. Imagine getting 11 then hitting 2 on the next card, thats pretty disgusting lol

One question though, does the bust it sidebet only pays up 2x? or will it goes up according to how many times the dealer doesnt get busted

I wouldn't keep doing that, of course. 105 days or so left, you're bound to hit a bad streak. Just keep playing to get the min, use up the wins, and then try again maybe when you're in the red -- again, don't take my advice, this is just how I play.

Free double's very good too, though right? Even if you don't get a 10, dealer could still bust and you're good.

Click the Help button, it's the question mark [?] on top right. Then click Payout for more info.
3 card bust: 2/1
4 card bust 4/1
5 card bust: 9/1 (hit once for me this round)
6 card bust: 50/1 (I love this, hit it twice last Live Hero).
7 or more I can't remember.
