I think this graph idea can come true but if master node payments work it will most certainly cut the downtrend

Yes indeed. Even mikey acknowledged that the continuation of "news" would encourage the price (or at least he acknowledged the opposite - that the lack of such would adversely affect it).

So I wouldn't be surprised if it held above 15 for the next couple of weeks and even rallied.

It's what happens *after* that that mikey was concerned about. When all the current development settles down, master nodes are in RC3's out, everyone's made their money on the pump. Thats when the 'big news' starts to fade and that's what the longer term charts are starting to show - that much (if not most) of the flurry of news and potential news is now priced in.(<appeal>don't rase me bro', just makin' an observation</appeal>)

None of this means that there isn't a very bright future for "DRK" Smiley  There probably is - we've got to separate out market stuff from development stuff (which is why I agree with the appeals for a separate "speculation" thread).
6882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 05, 2014, 09:01:18 PM
In reality the 12h graph on bitcoin wisdom is a positive inverse head and shoulders not some bubble nonsense people talk of

I think I just have to say in mikey's defence, I can't see that "inverse head and shoulders" anywhere on the recent DRK chart. Also, he has offered quite relevant advice which, if it had been taken more constructively might have lead to a more useful discussion for all concerned.

He wasn't trying to "diss" the coin, he was offering a perspective on optimising investment strategy in the wake of this huge rise.

I don't necessarily agree with him on the bottom, but all the same he's right about technicals trumping fundamentals in extreme cases such as the rise we've just had. Bitcoin had all kinds of positive and negative news (Overstock adoption, China banks) and yet it stuck rigidly to the long term pattern and didn't budge until the new valuation had been properly "baked in".

Maybe a picture tells a thousand words:

P.S. You can see from the lower of these two that unlike Bitcoin, DRK built itself a bit of a base around 12-14 just prior to that last rise. That's why I don't think it's going to go quite as low as mikey does. But this is splitting hairs. The general principle is that all contributions to a better understanding of where we are are best accepted if offered in good faith. It may be that mikey's in fact was.

6883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 05, 2014, 07:48:59 PM
To those that arn't so blinded. Check the 12h charts, the google 'stock bubble pattern'. The two images are identical.

He has got a point about the twelve hour - it doesn't look like turning around anytime soon.

But I'm not quite so pessimistic about the floor as mike-tee-mike. To me it looks more like 14-15 have a very good chance of holding, specially given the close at hand technical roadmap items. It's not rocket science to see where the resistance is:

 - 17: It's already hammered off that level 3 times now since the high of 26. It might just breakthrough one of these times in which case the next level is

 - 15: That's the top of the big volume pump around May 19th and a second one around May 29th. I personally think that's unlikely to be breached but if it is and we continue on the "mike-tee-mike" descent profile then next stop would be

 - 08: (big volume coming in on May 15th) or
 - 06: May 12th level-off price

There go go. You pays your money you takes your choice. (Lets hope it's not the mike-tee-mike choice  Shocked ).

The thing that many people don't take into account is the those "left behind" by the pump are the very people that are required to get the price to a higher level.

Those people have quite a lot of power.

For example, they can simply just refuse to buy until the price comes down. (They seem to be doing a bit of that right at the moment). So someone's got to sell to get the price down to a low enough level to pick them up. Those traders will be rewarded for doing so in Bitcoin gains (or DRK gains if they buy back in). It isn't just a case of holding and not selling - the market's got to be dynamic.

Apart from that, I think that the idea of blindly "holding for 6 months" is just batshit crazy. As a general principle, if you want an almost guaranteed way to loose everything you ever had in crypto then thats the way to do it. Unless it's Bitcoin itself you're holding then your going up against massive odds. Individual cryptocoins are not designed to last. They form part of a wider ecosystem which itself is evolving. Value flows seamlessly from one "coin" to the next, they all learn from each other, adopt each others ideas, create new ones and evolve as a system. The idea that 1 single coin "has it all" is just one that manifests itself in the first 1000 pages of Bitcointalk [ANN] threads until that particular coin starts to approach the end of its shelf-life.

I'm not saying that it 'can't' happen and I'm also not saying that DRK isn't a great investment at the moment with a very promising roadmap and development team. I'm saying that things need to be looked at from all angles and one of them is statistics and the crypto-economy as a whole. From the "inside DRK" perspective, the future is infinite. From the global perspective, it is not.

Having said all that, I'm still holding quite a bit of DRK and hope to see it grow. But my holdings have an anchored bit and a "flappy" bit that flaps about in the wind. The anchored bit stays untraded as long as things look good from a development perspective. The "flappy" bit gets traded in order to contribute the "market dynamics" I mentioned earlier. If I loose my *ss in the wind then at least I've still got the anchored bit.

(In case anyone's wondering, the proportions are currently 33% anchored, 67% flappy)  Wink

Wait for me before you close the exchange please  Embarrassed
Don't worry, people has only withdrawed about 20% of the MRO so far, looks like we're going to stay up for a while. If it's too much trouble for you, submit a ticket with your payment id and then request a withdraw, I'll do it manually for you.

ok, thanks. very kind of you.

I'll see how I get on with the wallet and if I have a problem will do just that.

P. S. I add my thanks for running the exchange and good luck with the next venture.

BTC level at 650 squawking 5000 with information India.

6888  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoNote Exchange on: June 05, 2014, 02:53:52 PM
With payment id I can only do one transfer at once because multiple payment id's is not supported. If you have 500 MRO or more in your account I will do it manually for you. I will also do it if you are really desperate.

I'm trying to get a wallet so I can get mine off the exchange.

Screwed up my test Poloniex transfer by forgetting the Payment ID. Bittrex has suspended XMR. There are no Mac wallets (unless you're a Unix geek).

Now trying to get hold of a Windows machine and download the Windows GUI wallet.

Wait for me before you close the exchange please  Embarrassed

prepare for the crash of the alts

I don't get this.

At Bitcoin's all time high - back in December, PPC and XPM were at 0.05 and 0.04 respectively (now much less). Litecoin was 0.03 (now 0.017).

Whenever Bitcoin declines, all the alts decline faster. Whenever Bitcoin climbs, all the alts do well since there's more money in crypto generally.

Why should be "prepare for the crash of the alts" ?

new irs rules appear to require disclosure of every bitcoin tx
this means usa is totally deanonymizing the bitcoin addresses
they will be able to map all bitcoin addresses with significant funds to a social security number

r.o.t.f.w.l. !!

The only reason the IRS can come up with a rule like that is that they're absolutely clueless about cryptocurrencies.

That rule is a joke which has not a snowballs chance in hell of ever being observed.

Anyway, if Bitcoin ever gets big enough to be important for the IRS to worry about, the Fiat economy will have collapsed. There's no way such a highly leveraged money system can survive alongside an unleveraged one for any length of time.

IRS lawmakers are good for entertainment though. I watched them at the New York conferences being humoured by the various witnesses.

That interview is going to change a lot of people's minds about the future viability of crypto currencies.

After surviving Gox / Malliability FUD from the mainstream media, they've now fired all their ammo and it's done about as much damage as a fried egg sliding off a nuclear submarine.

The public will wake right up too. They had it written off. Then you've got Winklevoss stuff coming up.....the backlash has started. We are 1 block away from the BTC / USD 1-week MACD turning upward. That will signal a barrage of bot buying.

Will be good for alts too - new money flowing into the entire crypto economy means people look to diversify.

Fasten seat belts I'd say.

I FELT THAT!! ebay was exactly my bet after apple, ohmg, this is the beginning

He could have saved himself a few hundred words by just saying "eBay WILL BE ACCEPTING BITCOIN....AND PAYPAL TOO"...."we're just a bit late in finishing the coding".

DRK may end up being more expensive that Bitcoin due to low coin supply.

On the other hand it might not. I see it going one of 2 ways from here:

[1] - It continues to revalue after RC3 and eventually trump Litecoin which would give it a value of nearer 0.1 BTC. From there is goes to near parity with BTC and becomes the genuine alternative network to Bitcoin - a kind of alternative 'reserve'.

...or...

[2] - This is it. DRK stays in the lead and adds some more value after RC3 etc, but at the same time the entire crypto market starts to get flooded with DRK alternatives and new approaches to anonymity. Existing coins add "anonymity features" such as dark wallet and NXT mixer. They are not as "complete" as DRK so it gives DRK a slight lead but isn't prepared to invest further at such high prices against a background of abundant of anonymous cryptocurrency networks.

Take your pick.

nah he just a backup of his wallet, don't need your priv key everytime, better to save the whole wallet, because there are hidden address

I've been an IT worker for 20 years and I would **never** entrust all mhy holdings to an electronic file.

Just use "listAddressGroupings" followed by "dumpPrivkey" for each address - that will get you all the change addresses as well.

Backing up a wallet is useless - all you're doing is backing up the corruption as well.

You need a printed copy of the private key to be safe.

thats only 25 at mose for 600,000JPC each

ok. I'm in.

Where do I send the 600,000 JPC ?

ATTENTION:
I just lost 2 mil JPCs because of a bug.

It wasn't "because of a bug".

It was because you don't have the private key for your coin address and never did have.

Always print it out before you do anything else after creating a new address that's going to contain a significant amount in it.
