6901  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Swerve Finance phishing sites on: September 17, 2020, 10:45:01 PM
Ever since Google started giving $45 for free, scammers have also started using AdSense services. Cheesy
These brainless scammers always take advantage of free services and rob innocent people.

However, this website has only been 7 days, hope that after our reports, google will take action.

I don't see the phishing websites anymore, so it's good that Google has taken action for several members who have reported it. Scary though if it someone has fallen for this fake websites because it is up by a week already.

I tried to search if there are reports, fortunately, there's none so good efforts from the OP to report it here and then members reporting it in unison to Google to bring it down.
6902  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Avrobit exchange (and all yellow clones) Alert on: September 17, 2020, 10:21:34 PM
And there's more:

These scammers won't simply stop because I'm guessing that there are noobs falling for this trick as it is spreading in Discord and Twitter like wildfires.
6903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking NEWS: SEC, Bitcoin now legal (a security) in Nigeria. on: September 17, 2020, 10:03:09 PM
I think this is a welcome development in Nigeria and I would say that African nations should follow that Nigeria has set up here. Specially the field of scams, Africa has been targeted by these criminal group so people should be aware of what crypto and what it can bring to them.

There is a report by Chainalysis: https://go.chainalysis.com/rs/503-FAP-074/images/2020-Geography-of-Crypto.pdf. And it's interesting that it has grown tremendously in the last 3 years and billions of dollars are now being transmitted, moved across that continent and somewhat a crypto regulation should be in place.
6904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Whyte vs Povetkin II on Nov 21 on: September 17, 2020, 09:33:19 PM

Yes, this is what I'm trying to point out, Whyte's chin has been exposed from that uppercut that he got from Povetkin, while Povetkin, although taking heavy damage as well is holding his own. So it's close to saying that Whyte is really looking for trouble and another knockout from Povetkin is not that far. Let's see what the odds are, but Povetkin might be the favorite here? What you think?

Povetkin is my favorite to win again here, I'd like to bet on Whyte but that knock out is so spectacular that we seldom seen a punch like that where the receiver is already out before hitting the canvass, this is devastating for the receiver, when they face each other Whyte will keep telling himself I must watch out for that uppercut, I'm sure there will be fear factor when they face again.

Lol, yeah that's one hell of a knock-out punch and it's comparable to the punch that Manny Pacquaio delivered that KOed Ricky Hatton. Whyte just have to keep in mind that he is winning the fight before that lucky punch landed  Smiley. I lost my bet on the first fight but still i would bet on Whyte because he would be more careful this time to avoid that lucky punch. Maybe we can see here more clinching on the side of Whyte.

Yeah, we get REKT on the first fight with that one punch knock out from Povetkin, lol. But I think he will be more careful and deliberate in this rematch and he knows what went wrong there. But I still still bet on Whyte here, he still has the advantage in power, and the one that knock him out is the punch that he didn't see. So he will try to avoid it and maybe we will see more clinch. And age will still be a factor for Povetkin in this fight. That's why Whyte needs to clinch and put his weight on Povetkin to get him gas out, similar to what Fury did to Wilder in their own version of a rematch.
6905  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: USA offers $ 625,000 to track Bitcoin Monero and Lightning users on: September 16, 2020, 10:22:13 PM
Am I the only one that thinks this isn't about just the IRS tracking criminals or tax evaders? I'm pretty sure this is a direct assault on controlling cryptocurrency.

Well we have seen governments around the world assaulting crypto, with all the regulations and stuff, so by now we should understand that they want to track everything. The big challenge here is Monero, it will be a cat and mouse game, if someone develops a tool to deanonymize their transactions then Monero will come up with another crypto algorithm, ti or tat.
6906  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitsails Exchange on: September 16, 2020, 10:00:10 PM
NOW OPEN in #Alpha stage ✅.

6907  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Food for thought: Coins.ph and Pdax.ph phishing attempts on: September 16, 2020, 09:37:06 PM

But to answer your question, most likely 99% yes.

6909  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Whyte vs Povetkin II on March 27, 2021 on: September 16, 2020, 03:53:09 AM
In a twist of event, Whyte exercises his rematch clause and decided to get back at Povetkin on November 21 of this year, March 6, 2021 March 27, 2021.

Quote
“I’m over the moon to have the rematch,” Whyte said in a press release. “As soon as I got out of the ring, I was looking for confirmation that the fight would be on. I can’t wait to get back in the ring and get back what is rightfully mine. I’m looking to do what I said I would the first time, and that’s beat Alexander Povetkin.”

“There won’t be any major adjustments, but I just need to be more switched on and not get distracted,” Whyte said. “He was able to use his experience against me. I will be a lot more focused and sharper in the rematch. I’m coming to win and knock him out. I’m coming to even the score, and the only way to do that is by knocking him out.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/povetkin-whyte-rematch-announced-ppv-headliner-november-21--151729

What's your take on this, is this a hastily decision on Whyte's part? Obviously he wanted to redeem himself and Povetkin has something to prove again. I think this is going to be a very exciting. I still have Whyte in my book here though. He just need to be very careful and really concentrate on this fight and not get distracted from Joshua or Fury looming fight.
6910  Local / Pamilihan / Food for thought: Coins.ph and Pdax.ph phishing attempts on: September 15, 2020, 02:53:44 AM

6911  Local / Pilipinas / Re: The World Is Finally Seeing the Value of Blockchain Technology on: September 13, 2020, 10:53:47 PM

6914  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam or not? yearns.finance on: September 12, 2020, 11:41:34 PM
Fraudsters this take advantages due to hype, it's why we see so many copycats of Yearn Finance (YFI) start with "Y" letter.
It's true that they only took advantage. I saw so many projects that started with "Y" insecurities continue to emerge and of course part of it was a scam they had planned to take advantage of.

When the hype occurs, they will take the opportunity, even I don't believe anymore if there is a project with Y and still I say Scam, if the real project will not imitate an existing project because it is a plagiarism and also takes advantage.

Just like when there is a Covid them projects popping up, which turns out to be a scam, and now "Y" projects are popping up, copying the original, added few lines of code here and there and then call it their own. But the problem is that there are still gullible and naive investors who blindly trust this project and invest a lot of money. If no one will invest then this kind of project will die.
6915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your take on refunding 800 BNB that are effectively burned? on: September 12, 2020, 11:19:28 PM
It's a good idea by CZ, I think they should reimburse the guy who lost his coins.

If the coins got burned he will not affect the ecosystem in any way by getting them back and it's going to be a great opportunity to show good will.

Then it will set a precedence, not just for Binance for any other burn token algorithm. And it will shows how powerful Binance and CZ. Don't forget about this one as well, Binance Considered Pushing for Bitcoin ‘Rollback’ Following $40 Million Hack. If he did do a rollback back then, it will be a wrong move for him. I sympathize with him, offering to help the guy, but the repercussions is big. If he wanted to show good will, give back $20k to the guy, that's it, instead of removing 800 BNB, that's just my opinion.
6916  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Hackers Nab $16 Million Worth of BTC Through Wallet Exploit on: September 12, 2020, 10:18:06 PM
6917  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps on: September 12, 2020, 09:55:35 PM
It's not that they are being creative, and problema kasi marami talagang crypto enthusiast, na hindi ang veverify bago mag dowlnload kaya nadadali sila ng mga pekeng fake wallet apps lalo na sa Google Playstore.

Oh well, it's bound to happen I guess, with so many gullible crypto traders who would just invest on something blindly especially if they see the keyword "Defi". Again, as I have said in many of my post about Defi, we are in 2017 again, similar to the madness of ICO wherein scammers are taking advantage of this noobs investors and make money out of them.
