UK: Muslim Family Demands Non-Muslim Man Buried Next To Muslim Be Exhumed And Moved To Different Plot…

A Romany Gypsy family face having to exhume the body of a recently-buried relative because of a row over grave plots at Burbage Cemetery.

Shadrack Smith was buried at the Lychgate Lane cemetery after a traditional Romany funeral on Friday .

His family brought three plots they picked which faced his home at Aston Firs – a tradition in Romany culture.

But since they purchased the plots the family of a Muslim man, who was already buried on the site, have objected to 89-year-old Mr Smith being buried next to him, despite the cemetery being billed as open to all faiths and denominations.

Tracey Smith, Shadrack’s daughter-in-law, said: “My mother-in-law chose the plot – she had her heart set on it.

“The grave was already being dug and bricked out when we had a call last Monday at 5.45pm from Julie Perrin at the parish council asking us if we could move plots.

“We said no – we bought the land and it was too late to find another plot.

“We have no issues with the Muslim family. I think they were under the impression it was a Muslim plot but it isn’t. But they should have tolerance to us.

Are you a Christian or Jew? Is your family Christian or Jewish? Do you happen to have the ashes of a friend or relative who was cremated? Sprinkle the ashes over the Muslim plots.

What if I have the ashes of an atheist butcher who worked at great garnetts for 40 years. Would that work too?

Global Warming Sparks Fears Of Another Food Crisis In Marxist Hellhole North Korea

As North Korea heads toward the “barley hump” – the lean season before the rice and corn harvest in the summer – aid agencies are warning that an unusually dry winter is compounding chronic food shortages in the impoverished country.

And while North Korea may no longer be in a state of famine, malnutrition remains such a widespread problem that even slight changes in weather can have an outsized impact on ordinary people’s food supply.

“We’re concerned about seed scarcity and the low level rain and snowfall,” John Aylieff, deputy Asia director at the U.N.’s World Food Program, said from Pyongyang. “All of these things are raising concerns about the winter harvest this year.”

Winter crops – including wheat and barley – should be growing now, but after an exceptionally dry year in 2014, rainfall around the country has been markedly lower than usual so far this year, particularly in the “cereal bowl” provinces of Pyongan in the west and Hwanghae in the south.

Although the winter harvest makes up only 5 percent of North Korea’s domestic food supply, it is a critical time because the crops see the country through the lean season known locally as the barley hump – the period between May and August before rice and corn crops are harvested.

“If there is a big gap, this could prolong the lean season and it could prove a ’flash point’ for malnutrition,” Aylieff said.[…]

Allowing more freedom in the rural areas could increase people’s standard of living there – and potentially make the regime more stable.

Randall Ireson, a former agricultural adviser who worked for a nonprofit agency in North Korea for almost a decade, said the reforms did appear to be making a difference.

“We should be able to see more diverse crops at a local farm level,” he said, adding that North Korea was beginning to move away from its emphasis on rice and maize, and growing more soybeans.

But the changes do not yet constitute Chinese- or Vietnamese-style economic reform because North Koreans have no certainty about the officially state-owned land.

“If farmers believe that they can have these fields and farm them for at least the medium term future, they will be more likely to invest in improving the soil, but they need some assurance that the efforts they put in won’t go to waste,” Ireson said, noting that it could easily take three years to return the depleted soil to good health.

6924  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “We’re Obligated To Use Our Freedom Of Speech To Condemn Insults” To Islam…" on: February 09, 2015, 04:51:22 PM
And if, in fact, we defend the legal right of a person to insult another’s religion, we’re equally obligated to use our free speech to condemn such insults

I don't get what the point is here? People are free to insult religions and people are free to condemn them? Isn't that their choice and all part of freedom of speech?

People who condemn the publication of the prophet's image are exercising their freedom of speech and don't deserve to be lampooned.

I don't think it's the people who condemn the publication of the prophet's image they're worried about so much as the people who violently react to it.
You know what?  If they publicly committed suicide, they'd get considerable more respect and attention to their cause than if they kill those who publicize the supposed prophet's images.

Some publicly commit suicide. Usually in crowded places...

I remember the time when one who could not or would not keep their child dropped them near an orphanage, or a church, or were raised by family members, etc. Now it is so easy to kill.

But what if that attitude was always part of history since the beginning of mankind? Now imagine a world without those names:

FLASHBACK 1992: NBC Caught Lying About Chevrolet Trucks Exploding

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtpMzGN9uWc

On November 17, 1992, Dateline NBC aired an hour-long investigative report titled "Waiting to Explode," which focused on allegations that General Motors' Rounded-Line Chevrolet C/K-Series pickup trucks exploded upon impact when involved in collisions due to the poor design of the vehicle model's fuel tanks. Dateline 's footage showed a sample of a low-speed accident in which the fuel tank exploded; the explosion during the crash test would later be discovered to have been rigged by producers with the program, who placed remotely controlled model rocket engines inside the truck's fuel tank to initiate the blast. The program did not disclose the fact that the accident was staged.

GM hired investigators from Failure Analysis Associates (FaAA, now Exponent) to study the footage; FaAA investigators discovered while reviewing the video that smoke had actually started to expel from the fuel tank six frames before the actual impact occurred. Acting on a tip from someone involved with the Dateline crash test, investigators with FaAA searched through 22 junkyards in Indiana before finding the charred wreckage of the GM pickups.[9][10]

It was also later revealed that the Dateline report had been dishonest about the fuel tanks rupturing and the alleged 30 miles per hour (48 km/h) speed at which the collision was conducted. The actual speed was found to be higher than stated, around 40 miles per hour (64 km/h), and after x-ray examination of the fuel tanks from the C/K pickups used in the televised collision, it was found that they had not ruptured and were intact.[11][12] GM subsequently filed an anti-defamation/libel lawsuit against NBC after conducting an extensive investigation. On February 8, 1993, GM conducted a highly publicized point-by-point rebuttal in the Product Exhibit Hall of the General Motors Building in Detroit that lasted nearly two hours after announcing the lawsuit.[13] The lawsuit was settled by NBC that same week, and Dateline co-anchor Jane Pauley read a 3½ minute on-air apology to viewers.

The General Motors lawsuit and the subsequent settlement were arguably the most devastating blows for NBC in a series of reputation damaging incidents during the 1990s and early 2000s. Within NBC, Michael Gartner, who resigned under pressure shortly after the incident, was the source for much of the blame. NBC News President Reuven Frank stated Gartner was hired in 1988, despite having no background in television news, in an attempt to satisfy parent company General Electric, by replacing current journalists with cheaper, less experienced reporters and producers.[14]

In addition to the resignation of the news division's president Gartner, three Dateline NBC producers were dismissed as a result of the incident and the findings of the resulting investigation: executive producer Jeff Diamond, senior producer David Rummel, and Robert Read, producer of the report on the pickups. Michele Gillen, the correspondent involved in the segment, was transferred to NBC's Miami owned-and-operated station WTVJ, where she became an anchor of the station's evening newscasts.

'I Aborted My Baby Because It Was A Boy'

Today, my doctor, who I will call “Sandy” did an ultrasound and everything appeared to be fine. “Would you like to know the gender?” Sandy asked. I thought to myself “That machine is an ultrasound, not a crystal ball, you couldn’t tell me the gender of my baby even if you wanted to”
“Sure” was my response.

“It’s a boy”…..

……

“What?” I managed to sputter. Sandy then showed me on the ultrasound how exactly my body had betrayed me even worse than the misogynistic suit jockey on the airplane so many months before. I was in shock, I started crying, weeping at the thought of what I was about to curse the world with.

On my way home, my driver asked if I was ok and if I needed anything. “JUST STOP RIGHT HERE” I yelled. Deciding to walk the 4 blocks back home. My home became my prison and my fetus became my warden the next 48 hours. Crying, sobbing, uncontrollable weeping, mental anguish the likes of which may only be experienced by those who have had their lives destroyed by war, I was a refugee, and my home was my refugee camp, an unfamiliar place that was just….sheltering me.

Flashback: Meteorologist Anthony Watts on ‘adjusted’ U.S. temperature data: ‘In the business and trading world, people go to jail for such manipulations of data’

Flashback: Climatologist Dr. Pat Michaels: ‘The raw temperature data is continually adjusted to show more warming’ - PATRICK J. MICHAELS and PAUL C. “CHIP” KNAPPENBERGER: U.S. temperature ‘history has been repeatedly “revised” to either make temperatures colder in the earlier years or warmer at the end’ -‘A major and ongoing federal effort has been to try and cram these numbers into the box imposed by the theory that gives the government the most power—i.e., strong global warming.’ - ‘Please be advised that this history has been repeatedly “revised” to either make temperatures colder in the earlier years or warmer at the end.  Not one “adjustment” has the opposite effect, a clear contravention of logic and probability.  While the US has gotten slightly warmer in recent decades, compared to the early 20th century, so have the data themselves.  It’s a fact that if you just take all the thousands of fairly evenly-spaced “official” weather stations around the country and average them up since 1895, that you won’t get much of a warming trend at all.   Consequently a major and ongoing federal effort has been to try and cram these numbers into the box imposed by the theory that gives the government the most power—i.e., strong global warming.’

If the Saudis had no oil or gas, then they would have been even poorer than the Somalis now. Anyway... if the oil prices fall further, then the rapidly growing Saudi population (those who belong to the non-royal clans) will find themselves in deep poverty...

The money is what binds these clans together. Without easy oil money, conflicts will increase.

Well, before 20 years back, I don't remember any conflicts happening in Saudi.
But yeah that is open to different interpretation.

Maybe you were born 20 years ago?

From wiki:

The history of Saudi Arabia in its current form as a state began with its foundation in 1933 by Abdulaziz Al Saud, although the human history of the region that is now Saudi Arabia extends as far as 20,000 years ago. The region has twice in world history had a global impact:[who?][citation needed]

in the 7th century it became the cradle of Islam and the first center of the Arab Empire
from the mid-20th century the discovery of vast oil deposits propelled it into a key economic and geo-political role

[...]
At other times, the region existed in relative obscurity and isolation, although from the 7th century the cities of Mecca and Medina had the highest spiritual significance for the Muslim world, with Mecca becoming the destination for the Hajj annual pilgrimage.

For much of the region's history a patchwork of tribal rulers controlled most of the area. The Al Saud (the Saudi royal family) emerged as minor tribal rulers in Najd in central Arabia. From the mid-18th century, imbued with the religious zeal of the Wahabbi Islamic movement, they became aggressively expansionist. Over the following 150 years, the extent of the Al Saud territory fluctuated. However, between 1902 and 1927, the Al Saud leader, Abdulaziz, carried out a series of wars of conquest which resulted in his establishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.

[..]
From the 10th century (and, in fact, until the 20th century) the Hashemite Sharifs of Mecca maintained a state in the most developed part of the region, the Hejaz. Their domain originally comprised only the holy cities of Mecca and Medina but in the 13th century it was extended to include the rest of the Hejaz. Although, the Sharifs exercised at most times independent authority in the Hejaz, they were usually subject to the suzerainty of one of the major Islamic empires of the time. In the Middle Ages, these included the Abbasids of Baghdad, and the Fatimids, Ayyubids and Mamluks of Egypt

The emergence of the Saudi dynasty began in central Arabia in 1744. In that year, Muhammad ibn Saud, the tribal ruler of the town of Ad-Dir'iyyah near Riyadh, joined forces with the religious leader Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab, the founder of the Wahhabi movement – a radical form of Islam.[14] This alliance formed in the 18th century provided the ideological impetus to Saudi expansion and remains the basis of Saudi Arabian dynastic rule today. Over the next 150 years, the fortunes of the Saud family rose and fell several times as Saudi rulers contended with Egypt, the Ottoman Empire, and other Arabian families for control of the peninsula.

The first Saudi State was established in 1744 in the area around Riyadh and briefly controlled most of the present-day territory of Saudi Arabia through conquests made between 1786 and 1816; these included Mecca and Medina.[15] Concerned at the growing power of the Saudis, the Ottoman Sultan, Mustafa IV, instructed his viceroy in Egypt, Mohammed Ali Pasha, to reconquer the area. Ali sent his sons Tusun Pasha and Ibrahim Pasha who were eventually successful in routing the Saudi forces in 1818 and destroyed the power of the Al Saud...

6932  Other / Politics & Society / Gallup CEO Fears He Might “Suddenly Disappear” for Questioning U.S. Jobs Data on: February 08, 2015, 05:04:12 PM

Years of unending news stories on U.S. government programs of surveillance, rendition and torture have apparently chilled the speech of even top business executives in the United States.

Yesterday, Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, an iconic U.S. company dating back to 1935, told CNBC that he was worried he might “suddenly disappear” and not make it home that evening if he disputed the accuracy of what the U.S. government is reporting as unemployed Americans.

The CNBC interview came one day after Clifton had penned a gutsy opinion piece on Gallup’s web site, defiantly calling the government’s 5.6 percent unemployment figure “The Big Lie” in the article’s headline. His appearance on CNBC was apparently to walk back the “lie” part of the title and reframe the jobs data as just hopelessly deceptive.

Clifton stated the following on CNBC:

“I think that the number that comes out of BLS [Bureau of Labor Statistics] and the Department of Labor is very, very accurate. I need to make that very, very clear so that I don’t suddenly disappear. I need to make it home tonight.”

After getting that out of the way, Clifton went on to eviscerate the legitimacy of the cheerful spin given to the unemployment data, telling CNBC viewers that the percent of full time jobs in this country as a percent of the adult population “is the worst it’s been in 30 years.”

The fiddling with temperature data is the biggest science scandal ever

New data shows that the “vanishing” of polar ice is not the result of runaway global warming

When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.

Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.

This was only the latest of many examples of a practice long recognised by expert observers around the world – one that raises an ever larger question mark over the entire official surface-temperature record.

Following my last article, Homewood checked a swathe of other South American weather stations around the original three. In each case he found the same suspicious one-way “adjustments”. First these were made by the US government’s Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN). They were then amplified by two of the main official surface records, the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (Giss) and the National Climate Data Center (NCDC), which use the warming trends to estimate temperatures across the vast regions of the Earth where no measurements are taken. Yet these are the very records on which scientists and politicians rely for their belief in “global warming”.

Homewood has now turned his attention to the weather stations across much of the Arctic, between Canada (51 degrees W) and the heart of Siberia (87 degrees E). Again, in nearly every case, the same one-way adjustments have been made, to show warming up to 1 degree C or more higher than was indicated by the data that was actually recorded. This has surprised no one more than Traust Jonsson, who was long in charge of climate research for the Iceland met office (and with whom Homewood has been in touch). Jonsson was amazed to see how the new version completely “disappears” Iceland’s “sea ice years” around 1970, when a period of extreme cooling almost devastated his country’s economy.

One of the first examples of these “adjustments” was exposed in 2007 by the statistician Steve McIntyre, when he discovered a paper published in 1987 by James Hansen, the scientist (later turned fanatical climate activist) who for many years ran Giss. Hansen’s original graph showed temperatures in the Arctic as having been much higher around 1940 than at any time since. But as Homewood reveals in his blog post, “Temperature adjustments transform Arctic history”, Giss has turned this upside down. Arctic temperatures from that time have been lowered so much that that they are now dwarfed by those of the past 20 years.

Homewood’s interest in the Arctic is partly because the “vanishing” of its polar ice (and the polar bears) has become such a poster-child for those trying to persuade us that we are threatened by runaway warming. But he chose that particular stretch of the Arctic because it is where ice is affected by warmer water brought in by cyclical shifts in a major Atlantic current – this last peaked at just the time 75 years ago when Arctic ice retreated even further than it has done recently. The ice-melt is not caused by rising global temperatures at all.

Of much more serious significance, however, is the way this wholesale manipulation of the official temperature record – for reasons GHCN and Giss have never plausibly explained – has become the real elephant in the room of the greatest and most costly scare the world has known. This really does begin to look like one of the greatest scientific scandals of all time.

Now where did I read in the Quran that it is totally okay to deceive Islam unbelievers, and that it is even the right thing to do when trying to convert them or destroy them when they don't convert?

It's so hard to tell if Muslims who talk about love to non-Muslims, are simply ignorant of their own religion, or if they are simply lying.

Brian Williams will misremember to come to work on Monday night.

NBC Nightly News Managing Editor and anchorman Brian Williams said Saturday that he is temporarily removing himself from the network’s nightly broadcasts following revelations he made false statements about his experience reporting in Iraq in 2003.

“In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions,” Williams said in a statement to NBC staff. “As managing editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days.”

6936  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin as a Driver for Free Energy on: February 08, 2015, 12:30:27 AM

The following is an article I wrote that argues how free energy devices might be developed more quickly now thanks to Bitcoin. I'm hoping to forward these ideas in some way. I hope it's a shared interest in this community as well

I see your point, but the bitcoin itself is insane dump on energy resourses (@ time of writing Network power consumption
2513.31 MW) , and as such its hardly driver for free energy.
Wouldn't some POS coin be more optimal choice?

Network power consumption, compared to facebook's, google's, apple's, the pentagon's, and all the ATM machines around the globe being used 24/7? How about those millions of tons of soil being moved everyday for rare earth elements for smartphones, then shipped into containers around a global physical network?

Insane indeed.

Free energy is supposed to take electricity from static in the air. So how much of it getting consumed by the network afterwards probably won't be a concern like it is with burning oil or coal.

But for this paradigm shift to take place now, you would need two things: a quantum leap in tech and a global event. A catastrophic global event. Free energy from thin air everywhere will not solve poverty, to the contrary. It could put poverty up side down in the world at first. If I have infinite energy why would I want to trade anything with you? If I have free energy but I have nothing to eat as I was born in a place with a very poor ground, where nothing grows, how can I still trade something with you when you have free energy and an amazing rich soil where anything grows? No need to wait for that oil from the saudis if I am the one who's blessed with this heaven on earth, but the saudis can't eat their desert...

Free energy will not eliminate disparities nor wars...

If most wars are over resources like oil then free energy would definitely change the incentives. Also, neither free energy or Bitcoin alone will lead to a global decentralized civil society. People also have to be sophisticated enough themselves to be able to function in such a way.

People used to fight all the time, and oil was never an issue. Land was the main issue.  Many wars stopped because the resource to commit to them for years cost more and more and made them unsustainable.

Now imagine a world were it would have been pointless to cut the nazi's oil supply to keep their fighter planes on the ground... Infinite energy would have kept them flying forever.

Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of free energy. We need to find a solution for bitcoin, etc. One just need to always think about the worse that could happen in a "what if" scenario, which is the case you've presented.

 Smiley

All right, that's a good point. Keep the free energy tech out of the hands of those who would use it to start WWIII.

Maybe only very secretive technologists could pull this off then. Staying in the shadows with what they know, they could create their own free energy-powered miners and vanish from the grid completely. One can dream Smiley

So far the only one who could do something like you are describing is satoshi nakamoto, obviously. He (or the team) needs to crack that nut next for sure.

*** fix your quote *** before someone else re quotes it again and again.

The guy has a point that I would not be totally adverse to getting credit for.  Accd to the chart of the last 5 or so ice-age cycles, going back into one seems more likely than having significant up-side, but (and there is always a 'but'), we are looking at huge time scales here.  On those scales it looks like sharp drop-offs into an ice-age, but in reality they take thousands of years.

The next ice-age will 'damage' the ecosystem worse than most rational people's conception of a realistic further global warming and will result in many displacements and losses of species as have prior relatively rapid changes.  There is, however, a very strong hypothesis that these cycles have been a major motivating force in increasing the rate of the generation of new species as adaptations are particularly valuable in such times of rapid climate change.

As long as you do not mind and there is no drama then I personally do not mind.
Yes it makes sense mankind should stop wasting time and be prepared for whatever nature is going to throw at us, just like in the past.
An ice age is coming? Anti freeze lipsticks could be the next big thing then

This just goes to show the state the world is in... If over 2/3rd of journalist believe this...

But do they have evidence they're being spied on are they just being paranoid. That being said I thought the NSA had access to everyones data so it wouldn't surprise me if they're snooping on journalists especially.

They have reasons to be paranoid.
Better safe than sorry.

Everyone doing something like journalism should be taking extra privacy measures just in case. Paranoia is justified in this post NSA world.

I agree they have good reason to believe this the US government has a long history of snooping wherever it needs to, Watergate would have started because they was snooping and found damning evidence that others new the corruption they undertook.

I guess it's okay for them to do this by law as it would be under the guise of national security etc
the terrorists of the future are the governments own people especially the journalists who uncover the truth.

At least they are not physically harmed 'yet' who would know if they was taken away interrogated threatened with violence if they spoke out again death, black balled etc
