seriously? you dumped because of this post? Weak hand i would say... i m holding my drks since march...

Your hands are so weak that you cant even facepalm yourself later...

You shouldn't criticise people dumping. It's a necessary part of the price evolution.

I just dumped as well - two thirds of my holdings.

But not because I think DRK's a bad investment, I still think it has a long way to go. I just have a rule where I'm not allowed to have more of an alt coin than BTC and I was getting ridiculously exposed after the rises of the last 3 weeks. A lot of people are in that category. You just have to take profits no matter how good the fundamentals are, otherwise this whole game is just Russian roulette.

6922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: questions about drk ( wtf is gowning on ?) on: June 03, 2014, 04:27:23 PM
well i wish u luck whit it

seems u are heavy invested in it like many others Smiley

I appreciate your remarks, however I don't "heavily invest" in anything. That would be a bit silly given the volatility if this whole market.

I invested some of my holdings in DRK because it has a consistent record of progress by a hard working development team. That's about it. There is no competitor in the "anon" sphere that is anywhere close to it. Obviously thats my opinion, but since I'm investing my own money, thats what I'm going to go with. Others can put their money where they see fit.

I've spent a great deal of time reading the various criticisms against it and come to the conclusion that most of it is either out and out nonsense or mildly relevant in relation to the positive aspects of DRK as an investment.

asking questions is better as ignoring

Yes. Asking questions is better than ignoring.

But I don't know the answer to this question so I decided it's either:

[1] - an early developer instamine

[2] - an early non-developer instamine

[3] - an unregistered exchange

[4] - a whale who bought a ton of coins early

[5] - Bitfinex accumulating liquidity for their recently announced market

Take your pick because nobody on here is likely to have the answer at hand and since it's a private address, don't expect the owner to pipe up either.

Darkcoin again failed at the right shoulder around ~0.219. Second time it attempted this resistance level

Acting more bearish

I noticed that as well. But as a later poster pointed out, the scale is very small and the longer term one is still bullish

There's no way I'm dumping now on the basis of chart technicals - there's just too much favourable underlying activity. Also, if you watch the realtime trading for any length of time you can start to see what strategy most of the big buyers use. They allow the price to drift down on low volume to draw out liquidity into the order book while keeping their own demand off order book.

Once the ask liquidity has matured a bit then they jump on it, creating a lot of volume with minimal price movement.

What that means for day traders is that you're playing a dangerous game trying to accumulate over small spreads because you just get bombed out of the market trying to make a meagre 5-10% due to lack of liquidity when getting back in.

Not worth it IMO.

seems many peeps are invested in dark

and are ignoring this issue afraid of losing money

Hey - everyone is afraid of losing money !  Wink

And I am indeed ignoring this issue because, having thought about it, I can't see how it's going to lose me money.

But if you can convince me otherwise I'm all ears !  Smiley

P.S. Bitcoin now 666 on stamp, 650 on the more conservative BTC-e.

You sad DRK bagholders don't even know how to verify anon tech.  All you know how to do is hold bags tightly

MrWHALE does actually post some factually correct information.

I'm indeed holding a bag of DRK (quite tightly as it happens).

I don't feel too sad about it though but 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

I'm developing a man crush.... Grin

Well keep the lid on it for now because we're hitting the resistance from the massive volume that went into May 23rd's all time high.

A lot of people were left hanging in the rafters when the roof came down after Evan & team had their little fork hiccup. Quite a lot of that supply is now coming out of the woodwork and absorbing the new volume coming in.

May take a bit of working through.

Life expectancy for a sub-500 DRK sell order now down to all of 10 seconds.
6929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 02, 2014, 09:37:48 PM
The last 22 trades have all been buys. No sells except for 2 x 1 DRK shots which is clearly some desperado switching sides to try to keep the price hanging onto the low end of the spread gap.

Unfortunately it's spitting in the wind. As usual, most of the demand is off order book. 2000 DRK bought in the last 10 minutes has left a solitary 1850 DRK shot buried in the bids at 235 as the emerging liquidity in the asks gets promptly pruned.

ok folks.

Lift off approaching in the markets. 10-20 minutes away now.
6931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 02, 2014, 08:53:38 PM
Just to add...

If you thought DRK was getting interesting, Bitcoin / USD looks like it's just about to ratchet up a notch or 3 in intensity.

The trading going on there right now is bordering on frenzied and the market looks like giving its consensus that the correction of the past 2 days is in, so we're heading up again.

Just having the BCW chart up for 10 minutes sets the fans off in my laptop as the Javascript engine in the browser goes into overdrive trying to keep up with the jostling for position in the order book.

Add to that the fact that we're now only 1 more division away from the 1-week MACD turning positive (which it hasn't done since January) which is going to trigger a whole volley of bot-buying, and you've got a bit of a potential mega-bullish recipe on your hands.

The two things together - DRK/BTC ratio and increase in BTC/USD are going to put some interesting numbers on the DRK $USD price.

You'll maybe see a bit of a rally get going within the hour.

The reason for the lukewarm market reception was that the 5 minute wave coincided perfectly with the 15 minute MACD turning south. It was just the wrong moment as far as market momentum cycles were concerned and clashed with a wave of chart-invoked profit taking. Despite that, price did go up to 0.25 on quite huge volume (over 10,000 DRK) and came back down on very little, so there's not much weight in the dip.

The downward momentum in this cycle looks like lasting not much more than another hour if that.

Then things might start to get interesting.

4978 shot a sitting duck now next in line on Mintpal.

....vapourised.

Looks like people's BTC's are getting the 3rd confirmation now and being made available for battle.

This is a major dam break because, whatever anyone thinks about Bitfinex, they were a BTC / LTC shop only.

Not even BTC-e was that focused. So this will be seen as a major strike into LTC territory just when LTC is in its death spiral.

Bitfinex is live.

Sh*t. So it is.

DRK is on the public market stats page now.
6937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: questions about drk ( wtf is gowning on ?) on: June 02, 2014, 05:58:20 PM
yet there are still 2 wallets holding 20% < that's not a great distribution )

You seem to have convinced yourself that "even distribution" is important.

We'll just have to disagree on that. I bought DRK for lots of reasons - most of which were  technical as I'm from a technical background. The fact that there are holders owning 20% of the money base isn't one of the criteria I used because I don't think it affects my return on investment.

If you think it will affect yours then don't invest in this one - pick another one that is "better distributed" and hope to hell that it stays that way because the chances are that it won't.

Good luck.
6938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: questions about drk ( wtf is gowning on ?) on: June 02, 2014, 05:52:55 PM
still attacking and giving no explanation great ....

Please stop acting like you're "due" an explanation for this kind of thing.

Nobody needs to "explain" the fact that an asset class has big holders unless you're implying that it was come by either illegally or even unethically, in which case please state your concern explicitly rather than implicitly.

If I had a problem with cryptos which had big wallets that weren't exchanges I just wouldn't invest in them. Don't invest in this one if it's too hard to swallow - although good luck in finding an investment vehicle that doesn't have big holders.

We're not dolling out a box of chocolates here. People invest in stuff because they think they'll see a future gain in proportion to their initial buy. It's got nothing to do with absolute amounts held. If you're worried about big holders "crashing the market" then I've got to ask the question what the hell are you doing in any kind of market ? They only do that if there's a crisis on the scale of the 2008 banking collapse where the current order book is all that's left of the asset in terms of operational or perceived value.
6939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: questions about drk ( wtf is gowning on ?) on: June 02, 2014, 05:38:17 PM
DRK is hoarded by a couple of big buyers and the instaminers.

Now your criticism of a coin is that people buy too much of it ?

Kind of desperate if that argument's supposed to appeal to investors.

Will XC over take dark? who knows but if not xc then some other coin with better distribution (for real)  that successfully implements anon features will.

Nice. When you run out of 'ammo', always go for the old 'distribution' angle. As if distribution in any asset class makes a damn bit if difference to anyone. The entire crypto-economy is owned by a nano percentage of the potential worldwide investment community. Multi-billion dollar stock classes have half their equity in the hands of less than 10 people so don't kid yourself that you've discovered any kind of show stopper there.

As it happens, DRK is probably one of the better distributed cryptos and your "instamine" claims got blown out of the water weeks ago when it was pointed out to you that it had been more than compensated for in early trading.

Change the record please.

DRK within touching distance of its all time high again.

We need Jackpotcoin to do the same.
