Could you please elaborate a litte bit more what are the problems you faced and why you wouldn't recommend STOs? I personally thought that STOs "would be the next big thing" by now

So we are safe if we keep our ETH on a hardware wallet I guess? Does eg. Ledger provide tutorials etc. how we may fork our coins manually?

Honestly, it doesnt mean anything if you get a contact you can talk with. If a project wants to scam you they will do it. Just invest in projects with real products or a longer lasting history, but this wont save you from tokens which become worthless after the launch, like Savedroid eg.

Thanks for sharing your story, hope it helps someone else to recognize scam attempts like this in the future. It may not bring your coins/money back but if it prevents someone else from falling for BitDeal it was definitly worth it.

Sorry to say that but I think your investment is gone, yes. Doesnt have to be a scam attemped, maybe the project just ran out of funds and had to stop the work. Try to reach for Cryptopia support and ask them why they delisted the coin, maybe you get some more information why this happened that way!

This list applies to a lot of coins with real projects, dont think thats special to SALT. I am just curious ...  Why do you think will 10.) happen?

I am with Kevin77. The possible disadvantages like delisting, whales manipulating the price, ... are too high for me to consider buying such low cap coins.

ICOs in 2017 are not comparable to those held in 2018. In 2017 it was enough to say a bold statement like "we build a fast browser with CC-integration" and money got thrown at. Nowadays, only true project with a real purpose are capable of reaching their softcap, mostly because of private investors and not due to the ICO to be honest.

Seh ich ähnlich, das Ganze wirkt nicht sehr durchdacht. Mal schaun, ob diese Punkte nicht später dazu dienen werden, das Issuing-Date rausschieben zu können.

Ich unterscheide hier ob selbstinvestiertes Geld drinnen ist oder es sich zB um Bounty-Coins handelt. Bei selbstinvestiertem halte ich mich ans "Little old lady selling level" -> sell half on double, der Rest bleibt wie bei den Bounty Coins einfach drinnen solang ich das Fiat nicht brauche.

Ja, habe ich genauso gemacht. Die Coins mit den größeren Verlusten abgestoßen und gleich wieder gekauft, um die Steuerlast 2018 drücken zu können. Habe aber 2018 ansonsten keine Coins aus Bounties verkauft, gebe denen doch noch Potential sobald sich der Markt wieder erholt. Das würd ich nicht verkraften, wenn ich die zu einem Spottpreis abstoße und diese ein Jahr später dann moonen

Centralized coins like XRP are capable of outperforming VISA etc when it comes to transaction throughput. But you are replacing on centralized system with another.
There are hundreds of coins out there which may outperform VISA, too. Both centralized (TERNIO, ...) and decentralized (BTC with lightning, eg.)
But its not only transaction througput what should be considered when we look for successors for VISA and co. Such companies eg. excell at fraud detections, insurrances etc.

Just take a look at their roadmap. Are you still convinced that this coin will remain even if the bear market continous throughout 2019?

Eher sogar Tage, ja, wenn man sich die Runs von IOTA und XRP oder NEO Ende 2017 ansieht. Den Fehler, wieder auf ein ATH zu hoffen, mach ich nicht mehr

Nummer 3 im Hinblick auf was? Verwendung als Zahlungsmittel im Darknet? Zumindest Monero hat was das betrifft BTC ja schon länger vom Thron gestoßen ;-)

Ever witnessed in the cryptocurrency market? I dont think so, take a look at 2014/2015, the bearish sentiment went on for nearly 1,5 years! Thats what I expect for 2019, too, a bearish sentiment until late 2019/early 2020.
