I won't soon forget all the down and dirty mud fights you and I had in the trenches with those Ripple idiots.

It was brutal.
Yep, I remember it

The worst 2 were Misterbigg and mmeijeri.

May your souls rest in peace.

Never doubted it.

You centralize and premine anything crypto related....that spells "DOOM".

Bitcoin Up, Gold who cares, Ripple RIP.

I can't emphasize enough how bullish this is for Bitcoin.

Ripple was the longest standing of all the alts and they even looked to be making a go of it with the recent Fidor bank deal.  For them to go down like this from precisely what you and I warned about from the very beginning spells trouble for ANY AND ALL alts that do a premine. Ripple had some of the most vicious and dedicated backers (trolls) of any of them along with stellar devs like David Schwartz and Stefan Thomas.

This is huge. For Bitcoin.

Wow, this is brutal.

Ripple is finished:

Introducing The Bitcoin:Gold Slingshot Effect.  We got it with silver and we'll get it with the next gold touch:

We be going to Saturn!
6946  Economy / Speculation / Re: The "Holiday Effect" can work to magnify both Greed and Fear. on: May 25, 2014, 03:45:41 PM
Breakaways do function to leave the most people behind in a shocked and confused state. Most people need to see confirmation first that the trend has changed before they believe it and act. Some people are traveling and won't even hear about it until we are way up.

This all favors those who act quickly and recognize what's happening before the momentum traders come in. This is why technical analysis is effective in recognizing what's happening.
6947  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 25, 2014, 12:06:50 PM
This Is likely to be a big move.

A number of factors are coming together to encourage The Breakaway. With Ripple and certain alts crumbling, we should see a convergence of sentiment to the safe haven of Bitcoin.

History repeating itself for like a 4th, 5th, 9th time? i lost count.

Its amazing how negative people can really be.

Even given where we are, most people have written Bitcoin off. Or they think it has to go to sub100 before we bottom. The 2001 gold price tells us a 250 bottom is perfectly reasonable.

It almost feels like the early days.

Bears have got to be scared to death.

Given the logarithmic thingy, we could be at10000  pretty quick.
6949  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is why Bitcoin is rising so fast... on: May 25, 2014, 11:44:45 AM
Don't try to explain it or fight it.

Just go with it.

Major trend changes can be very emotional.

Hence Breakaways.

The thing is this; during Breakaways nothing matters to the sophisticated bulls. This explains the cognitive dissonance with the news. It's laughable watching people trying to explain this based on news. .

Doesn't matter if it's good news or bad news. We buy every little dip only because we've identified a major trend change. The long term MACD had been slowly strengthening for months with its fast component crossing its slow component weeks ago along with a strengthening multi month support line.

The Breakaway is an intimidation factor which will cause even the most negative bears to eventually capitulate.  Markets are mean bastards.
6953  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go on: May 25, 2014, 10:58:15 AM
That plus the short convering.

The McClellan Oscillator had damped down for several days before this indicating the trap was setting as volatility got very quiet.

That's precisely why I like to say Boom because that's what usually happens afterwards which in this case is the Breakaway.
6954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go on: May 25, 2014, 10:52:00 AM
I don't see how anybody could moan about an asset which sits at $400 bottom for two months giving everyone a chance to buy, and then goes straight to 550 in two days.

The people who believed the bears who were saying it would go to $380?

I am only nervous about the rise because it is going up so quickly. But we have all been waiting for this so the quick jump is understandable.

It's called a breakaway.

Very typical after a long bear phase. Bears get used to shorting the pops. That plus selling exhaustion and the tinder is set. The rapid rise allows the bulls to pull away quickly while the confused and stunned are frozen in their bear positions that worked repeatedly for months. Momentum traders have yet to scramble and get their money to the exchanges which will only cause a further rise later fueling even more positive feedback loops to come.

The news is spreading.
6955  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is why Bitcoin is rising so fast... on: May 25, 2014, 10:41:40 AM
Wow, that article explained everything.

Rubble?
6956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the bitcoin price rising rapidly today? on: May 25, 2014, 10:33:47 AM
the reason is that every bear with a brain needs to turn to a bull at one point and vice versa. It can't go down forever.

Bears have brains?

This is Bitcoin!
6957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 25, 2014, 10:20:07 AM
Yes, you can still buy it for 50 BTC. Like I said, well worth it just in trolling fun alone.

I don't get it.

I thought he was doing that to enhance security?  Or is this a situation where money trumps those concerns?

How do you change your name and avatar so quickly? I thought theymos locked down the avatars?

Pay theymos 50 BTC.

Seriously?

Yes, but way before the price was up to today's price. 50 BTC bought VIP status (and still does I would imagine Wink)

We all could change it before the latest hack. Then he locked it down. Didn't know the vip guys could still do it. Wonder what the cost is now.
