Why haven't you people pushed the price up over $1,000 yet? I got shit to do, I can't wait all month for you.
6982  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens if China economy fails? on: January 07, 2014, 04:28:09 PM
America fails with it since China owns half of America.

China owns a good portion of Government/Banks.

Do Government/Banks own us?

According to your birth certificate, yes.

China owns a good portion of US land. Three of my commercial rentals in three different states have had Chinese ownership.

That's not that bad. It's not like you want to name her Moon Unit Zappa or Diva Muffin Zappa. The actor Rob Morrow named his daughter Tu as in Tu Morrow (tomorrow). Kanye West named his kid North West and claims his next kid will be named South. LOL

The population of Switzerland is 8 million and Germany is 82 million. The population of Taiwan is 23 million and China is 1.35 billion. It would be nice if it was the other way around. I'd give up Switzerland for China. The city of Guangzhou, China has 4 million more people than the country of Switzerland.

If we don't want users and are just looking at wealth then we need to get the tiny countries of Qatar (2 million) and Luxembourg (500 thousand people) on board.

Bitcoin is just 5 years old! So I will not complain at all. Switzerland and Germany is better than nothing at all. And I'd rank the German economy on par with the Chinese one.

Germany is a good one but it would be nice if we can get the larger ones too. GDP of Germany = 3.4 trillion USD, GDP of China = 8.227 trillion USD, GDP of USA = 15.68 trillion USD.

Alcohol is a gateway drug more than 420. Alcohol leads to beating your wife, beating your children, losing your job and raping miscellaneous farm animals after a night out puking and having "fun".

It's good to see Bitcoin return to its roots.  Grin

6990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet without printing (Writing it down by hand) on: January 06, 2014, 07:05:48 PM
Only I know which emails go together and in what order.

If you die unexpectedly then how will your heirs be able to inherit your BTC?

There are two other people that know the system. They could get the key. My first four are really easy to remember for someone close to me. The pattern of names is easy too but you would need to know my entire life's relationship history to know it.
6991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet without printing (Writing it down by hand) on: January 06, 2014, 06:51:59 PM
Hi, I'm looking to store bitcoins securely for the long term (hoping they'll one day be worth $5000 haha)

Please tell me if this is a secure way:

boot from Ubuntu Live CD ---> Bitaddress.org ---> Disconnect from internet ---> Generate address & private key (how do these two get input into the bitcoin system if I am disconnected from the internet?)---> Write these two down with hand on paper ---> Shutdown.

Also, when using the Brain Wallet function, I should type in something ridiculously long and complicated and I won't need to remember the passphrase nor write it down as long as I have the private key correct?

I use a similar method. I use Puppy to store a key to a USB stick and dupe it several times. If you're encrypting the key you will need the passphrase. For an effective brain wallet try using firstbits.com. All you need to remember is the first 6-8 characters.

My favorite way is one I developed myself. I store the key in my phone and backed up to my computer as a collection of contacts in my contact list. I have 50 contacts stored with fake email addresses where the beginning of the email is a part of the key. I memorize the first four characters and store the remainder as a sequence in the list of contacts that only I know.

1JwS memorized

With Johns contact email Subhm@aol.com
And Janet's email g6iPtR@gmail.com
And Ted's email jtyqhUY@live.com

And so on. Only I know which emails go together and in what order. Just picking the correct sequence of 6 numbers considering one of the emails could be used twice your chance of picking the correct order would be 1 in 175,711,536 and you still wouldn't have the first 4.

We don't need Taiwan because we have the rest of the world.

Exactly. Already Switzerland, Germany and many other smaller nations have legalized Bitcoin. The rest will follow.

6995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Captain Kirk getting into bitcoin! on: January 06, 2014, 04:36:13 PM
William Shatner is so strange. Everyone on the original series hated him.

Have you listened to some of his albums?  Grin

I have. He is possibly the worst entertainer of all time and only gained any fame at all as a fluke. He is a creation of Gene Roddenberry. I think anyone that played the role of Kirk would have had the same fate.

He also has a personality that would make me kind of afraid to be alone in a room with him. I can see him trying to molest my dead body after boring me to death.
6996  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: January 06, 2014, 04:09:04 PM
I can prove my IQ. Here's my certificate.

I think this might be photoshopped, but I can't be sure.

I can't believe you're questioning my superior intellect!

6997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of Major Bitcoin Heists, Thefts, Hacks, Scams, and Losses on: January 06, 2014, 03:59:05 PM
Yesterday morning my cex.io account was hacked and also my email. The hacker sold the GHS I had and withdrew the funds. I had deposited 10 btc into my cex account. My cex account is now frozen by cex and they are investigating – whatever that means. Does not cex have the obligation to make this right??

2FA should be mandatory, not an option. In addition, they need tighter security for withdrawals.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure CEX will pay you back. It's only $10,000 after all.

You forgot to mention that Erik Voorhees, was the owner and founder of SatoshiDice.
And also of "Feed Ze Birds"...  Roll Eyes

I totally forgot about Feed Ze Birds!

No, they remembered to mention FeedZeBirds. They omitted the illegal gambling blockchain bomb SatochiDice.

There's been a great deal of enmity between George [Takei] and me. He's been saying mean things about me for nearly forty years now. That's nearly Star Trek (Two) Generations!... To be fair, George is not the only veteran of the USS Enterprise who has hard feelings. Walter Koenig has been vocal about his disdain for me. James Doohan was not a fan, and Nichelle Nichols told me -- while I was interviewing her for my book Star Trek Memories -- that she detested me. Set phasers to Awkward! ~WILLIAM SHATNER
