701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: June 22, 2014, 09:02:06 PM
They seems to be more legit then Neo&Bee until now, but you never know when thei may decide to pull the plug.
An advice that is so offten preached in the Bitcoin world bo so little practiced: Never invest more than you can afford to loose!
yeah agree, basic advice in investment world
but it's better to find out how that investment works before invest there so we can reduce the risk
what is Neo&Bee anyway? Huh

Basically one of the biggest scam in bitcoin history. A company from Cyprus that scamed investors for milions of euros. Looked it up on the forum and in the media in general.
702  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining on: June 22, 2014, 01:17:02 PM
I love the feeling of being a BTC miner Cheesy.

720gh/s , nothing crazy.

you may want to get some scrypt/x11 miners, its bad to hold all eggs in one bag.
bitcoin mining is over-saturated; diff is moving insanely, leaving "older gen" asics behind.
if bitcoin price drops down in movement, i would consider my options in your place, because you may be left short.

If bitcoin price drops you may want to sell everything quickly because altcoins will not retain their value for long.

I think it's better to do it yourself, it's not that hard. Read a little, work a little and in the end it will be fine, plus you will have the knowledge to do it. Welcome to mining Smiley

CriptX has confirmed that he provided insider information for big holders of his Peta securities so why did you trusted him in the first place?
Hey thanks for this tidbit. Could you link for us please?
Also, if you hear that someone's shady, please could you update their trust, as reading their previous posts seems not enough nowadays.

Sure, it's in the thread for Peta, when Havelock acknowledged that CriptX has given voting rights on the changes there were to come (broking the contract in the first place) only just for few, those providing them with insider informations: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=310783.msg6990019#msg6990019

Read to the thread to find out more.

710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible Satoshi Nakamoto is an acroymn or neumonic? on: June 22, 2014, 12:35:44 PM
I've seen a few posts about early emails on systems like bitcoin (Like hashcash) and am trying to bring up could satoshi possibly be the names of the people who satoshi based bitcoin off of? Obviously he was aware of these people's work, could he of used tricks they used and included a letter of their name in the alias?

For those of you who don't know what an acronym is

S- Sander (or Szabo)
A- Adam Back
T- Ta-Shma
O- xxxxx (Orange)
S- Szabo (or Sander)
H- xxxxxx (Happy)
I- xxxxxx (Igloo)

I don't know any more so I can't fill it out, maybe you can?

Emails that brought up the question:
marc.info/?l=cypherpunks&m=95280154629925&w=4
marc.info/?l=cypherpunks&m=95280154629912&w=2

There are more on that page, also use your own knowledge.

Anyway, enjoy your day. Just thought I'd bring something that'll keep you busy for the rest of your life.

EDIT: I DIDN'T MAKE THIS CLEAR, THE PEOPLES WHOS NAME ARE IN THAT ACRONYM ABOVE ARE ALL PEOPLE WHO'VE DONE WORK ON CRYPTOSYSTEMS LIKE BITCOIN.

I though people were getting tired of making up stories. But then again, the interpreters of Nostradamus predictions and of the Mayan Calendar never do, so why should the ones of Satoshi name would?
711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin trading sites are reliable and stable? on: June 22, 2014, 12:26:13 PM
Bitstamp is good enough and very stable, with all the support you might need there. You can only trade in fiat/btc/ripple/astropay and thats it, no other virtual currencies.

Bitstamp is having a lot of problems for the moment. Id delays widrawals, not sending confirmation mails and a few more. Look it up on the forum.
712  Other / Archival / Re: [WTS] Samsung Galaxy S5 Factory Unlocked - Brand New Sealed! on: June 22, 2014, 12:15:52 PM
On the other hand, nevermind, I can get one from a local store for $525.99 and I have a full waranty and not having to pay taxes witch is probably more than $25.99.
Good luck with your sale. (If you can make a really god offer feel free to PM me anyway)
713  Other / Archival / Re: [WTS] Samsung Galaxy S5 Factory Unlocked - Brand New Sealed! on: June 22, 2014, 12:11:40 PM
Are you willing to lower your price at $500 with shipping to europe included? If so, then we have a deal. PM m if interested. Also, only with escrow.
714  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Antminer S1 Bitcoin Miner + PSU's (x2) (reduced price) on: June 22, 2014, 12:08:58 PM
Price down to 1.25BTC.. I need to sell these immediately.. :/

Are you serious about this? If you let them run forever with free electricity thei will never achive positive ROI at this price.
715  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Job Opportunity on: June 22, 2014, 11:57:00 AM
I doubt any exchange would do that. They mostly get their money from those speculating and not from those that "buy and hodl".
I also dont see any profit for you.
Lets say you invest 1 hour of work to explain bitcoin. They are convinced and want to buy 100 $$$ worth of coins. Now they have to verify and get the moeny to the exchange. A few days / a week later it finally arrives. Still convined about bitcoin? YEAH! ok. Now they buy X bitcoins for the money thats left after transaction fees and the exchange gets .5% of that. Even if the transaction fees are 0 and the proof of residency costs nothing the profit is .50 $$$. You get 10% commission so .05 $$$

Correct me if I am wrong, but how do you think you can make this worth your time? Its way more profitable to go around and setup secure wallets for people in your area. Generate a paperwallet with them or setup a cold wallet on a dedicated machine and charge a fixed price (education included).

Thanks for the reply mcmike313 and shorena.

I was thinking more along the lines of trying to partner up with an exchange such as this https://www.btradeaustralia.com/ and maybe come to some form of agreement.

I used this site and had my bitcoin within 30 minutes of making the transaction at the bank. Sorry if I'm mistaken and this is not an exchange.

As for the amounts made I don't plan to be making astronomical amounts, but targeting the more wealthy areas who have money to spend, you would hope they would be willing to invest a little more than $100.

All an idea I had and there obviously are some faults but thought t would be a great way to earn some extra $$ and also spread the word about bitcoin, which ultimately helps everyone!

Then maybe you should talk to them on this proposal. Also your general ideea is that people use your referal when they sign up. There are many services like this but most of them don't worth the time.
716  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: June 22, 2014, 11:44:03 AM
Payment received, but still, long time to go until positive ROI, and with the difficulty increase I don't know, I may collecting just dust in a few more months.
717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage method (6%) on: June 22, 2014, 01:25:00 AM
if this is scam, why it is up here since over 2 weeks and moderators didnt clean it? :/

Bitcoin talk doesn't remove probably scams (caveat emptor, or buyer beware).. But I think arbitrage has had its day.. Back when btc was between 2 and 12 dollars, one could make a lot of money arbitraging. Thats how I made most of of my coin. Now, its much more difficult, still can be done, but there is a lot more risk involved.

True arbitrage is not possible with bitcoin as you cannot move your bitcoin instantly without your counter-party risking a double spend attack

It is possible if you already have the bitcoins you need to buy/sell in place (ex: on another exchange). Anyway, every arbitrage "investment" has proven to be a scam until now so invest at your own risk (loosing your investment 100% most likely).

If you already held bitcoin then you would need to risk the existing bitcoin that you held.

True arbitrage is suppose to be a risk-free investment. That is how those scams are so successful as people do not believe they are risking any funds.

It's clearly you don't understand how arbitrage works. You don't risk anything if you do it right. You buy 1 btc on one exchange for $600 and you sell 1 btc on another exchange for $610 but you do it in the same time, not wayting to transfer the one btc from one exchange to another. In the end you will still have 1 btc and 10 more dollars and you didn't risked anything. Anyway, this is only in theory because in practice you have fees and risks asociated with keeping your money on exchanges.
718  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase is turning into some sort of anti-bitcoin Mordor on: June 22, 2014, 12:12:06 AM
Greedy companies like Coinbase distroy Bitcoin.

how do you figure? I'm usually all for the muck raking , but this piqued my interest.

I've sold 2000+ BTC with CB, never a hitch. Honestly, I have gotten some deposits a day earlier then projected, but never late. They operate in the US , the US has laws that deal with money, banking and every vertical of the process they service for clients.

Buys maybe fill a little slower, but they need Market Makers.

They invested +30m dollars. How do you think they will get it back and with profit, just from transaction fees?
719  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: multi-arbitrage.com on: June 21, 2014, 11:55:16 PM
Every arbitrage "oportunity" is a scam!
For the belivers in this kind of "investment" I'll give an example: if you "invest" 10 BTC in a year with a 1% interest per day, asuming you invest your interest too, you will have at the end of the year exactly 377.8343 BTC. It's just not possible (and if it is then a stranger with a site on the internet will not tell you).
