701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the Religion?! on: July 26, 2015, 12:33:11 PM
It wrong because bitcoin means something different to different people. The idea that meaning is universal is fallacious.

I can't be bothered to go into all the different things that bitcoin "means" to people but to some people its just something to make money off. To be honest I'm pretty much one of them. I do "believe" in bitcoin to some extent but I just mostly see it as a vehicle to enrich myself.

When I trade bitcoin I could be trading stocks, or pork bellies. I certainly don't "believe" in stocks, still less in pork bellies in any "spiritual" sense.

Absolutely no way
703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How good is trezzor wallet on: July 19, 2015, 10:47:54 AM
Any thoughts? I want to store by BTC safely and securely offline. Anybody got any experience of using trezzor for that? Positives and negatives?
704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am bored with Bitcoin! on: July 05, 2015, 07:42:03 PM
Hey coinbuddy - lets create a site called the silk road but selling nothing illegal - but rather selling silks and spices like back in the day. Are you feeling it?
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 05, 2015, 07:40:40 PM
Indeed. You could totally make money of silk and spices. Could sell traditionally made persian rugs too because why not?
706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 05, 2015, 07:30:33 PM
The idea of doing a silk road site selling spices and silk is AWESOME. Lets do it  Grin
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 05, 2015, 06:38:12 PM
That Ross would run it from a cafe on an unencrypted laptop in the US beggars belief. Thats more dopey than anything Kapeles did and should win him an award for America's dumbest criminal.

This sounds reasonable, but seriously, America has some incredibly dumb criminals.  He's not even in the running compared to a guy who robbed a bank while wearing no mask, driving his own car, passed the holdup note to the teller written on the back of one of his own account's deposit slips at the same bank, and then got stuck in a multi-car pileup in the parking lot because his girlfriend lost control of her pet duck.

Not saying that what Ulbricht did wasn't stupid of course.  It was.  It's just that you have to overcome some VERY stiff competition for the title of America's Dumbest Criminal.

We need leader of the community who are serious people. People in suits. People who take things seriously, act professionally and don't regard crytpo as a game.

Yep.  To develop businesses, you need people who treat it as a business.  Not as a game, or a hobby, or a scam.

That said, I'm tempted by a distinctly 'hobbyist' impulse myself - to copy the silk road website software (now in the public record as evidence) and set up a "homage" site selling perfectly legal silks and spices.  Of course, at that point I'd have to compete with Ebay and Amazon, so it would probably never be profitable.

Lol
708  Bitcoin / Project Development / Seeking an experienced web developer on: July 05, 2015, 06:28:27 PM

709  Bitcoin / Project Development / Esports coaching site - looking for people to work with me on: July 05, 2015, 05:40:22 PM
Hi all

I'd like to create a site that can connect those wanting to improve their skills in competitive online games like DOTA 2 and starcraft 2 and are willing to pay in crypto (not necessarily aspiring professionals). We will have coaches who are at a high level in such games. Coaching sessions will be arranged on our site and we will take a fee. Tutees will leave feedback on/for coaches.

I think there is room for growth in this if done well.

If anybody would like to join me please let me know your skills, interests and time you can contribute. Web development skills are especially desired.

Thankyou

I had this sort of idea a while ago. I could make an investment. Please send me the details.
711  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am bored with Bitcoin! on: July 05, 2015, 05:00:58 PM
Actually to be completely honest I'm a bit bored too because I can't think of good ideas and I'm not really that technical (a big problem in this area). I try to think of what people need in bitcoin and my mind draws a blank for some reason.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 05, 2015, 04:54:37 PM

Sure, I agree with that. You don't have to be an empty suit, but you should probably at least be wearing one.
713  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I am bored with Bitcoin! on: July 05, 2015, 04:45:49 PM

714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 05, 2015, 04:39:32 PM
I feel for Ross but we need serious people leading in the crypto communities, not silly men-children like Kapeles and Ulbricht.

That Ross would run it from a cafe on an unencrypted laptop in the US beggars belief. Thats more dopey than anything Kapeles did and should win him an award for America's dumbest criminal.

We need leader of the community who are serious people. People in suits. People who take things seriously, act professionally and don't regard crytpo as a game. People who look and act more at home in a corporate board room than at Starbucks.

Crypto has made great strides in its short history, now to kick on it needs real leaders.

The age of the hobbyist, 30 something manchild as a leader in crypto is comming to an end and not soon enough.
715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin investment advice! on: July 04, 2015, 12:00:44 PM
There is no universal answer (for everyone). Bitcoin is a very speculative investment, for all its strengths and it has already "priced in" many of its advantages. You shouldn't expect to get rich just buying 10 bitcoins at $250, it might happen but isn't very likely at $250 in anything like the near future.

Do your research and go in with your eyes open.
716  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin... What's the point of it? Are you all deluded?!! on: July 03, 2015, 05:36:09 PM
I just don't see the point. Maybe she really think she's helping.
717  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin... What's the point of it? Are you all deluded?!! on: July 02, 2015, 06:31:27 PM
You fuck fuckity fuck. Fuck you, you bore me. Bitcoin is going to zoom up ahead, and when I'm a million dollars richer, I'd FedEx my turds to you which just might be gold plated. WOOHOO

Yeah brahh! We're gonna be rich sons bitches!!

When you've mailed your gold plated turds I'm gonna dance like this:

718  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: July 01, 2015, 08:16:05 PM
One needs to have realistic expectations. As a monetary system, bitcoin has only been around since 2009.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin? on: July 01, 2015, 06:48:27 PM
Abolutely not - bitcoin is a very speculative investment. A balanced investment portfolio, large or small, involves a range of risks.
720  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin... What's the point of it? Are you all deluded?!! on: July 01, 2015, 06:35:14 PM
I'll do your second post as well

"Silly billies think they can survive without government."

I believe that their should be a government.

"I tell youth nowth if the US government vanished today no one would know wot to do there would be anarchy everywhere"

Nope. Washington is not the center of the Universe.

"the currency of choice wouldn't be shitcoins it would be guns, ammoz, foodz and waterz"

Or the currencies that other countries already use. Sorry, currensiez.

"there would be no big mac,"

Good

 "no KFC"

Good

"no walmart"

Good

"YOU NEED GOVERNMENT

I don't just need government I want to have a government. "

"to look after you the elites have done an ok job its not perfect no ones perfect"

You don't say

"... you've all been watching too much of Alex Jones n Max Keiser n RTs propaganda machine"

Have I?

"its a fact... us sheeple need to be looked after"

Having read your posts I don't necessarily disagree.

"we are no match against the horrors of this world and youth think that shitcoin can solve the debt crisis?Huh!!!!!!"

Bit of a strawman

"you think bitcoin can solve the entiorrr worlds GDP using a few pixelz DONT MAKE ME LAUGHo ho"

Again, bit of a strawman argument.

"consumers aren't interested in this fake shit"

Then why does it have a market capitalization of 3bn having only been out since 2009?

"and neither am i soon ill be owning my second house which will pay my bills then i can earn big time"

How? Rent? How is that earning big time?

"i just can't believe that silly sod sold his house for wot was it 600 something btc then again maybe he's already loaded and that means peanuts to him but youth pepil need to be careful newbies should not invest bitcoin invest something that exists in the real world"

Are you sharing you wisdom with the young folk? Must think quite a bit of yourself.
