701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] VeriCoin Proof of Stake-Time Currency | New Roadmap Released on: October 13, 2017, 01:12:59 PM
Why the price surged last days? Any news or development went out?
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another hard fork coming in October. New Bitcoin name is "Bitcoin Gold" on: October 13, 2017, 07:19:51 AM
How long after the fork can I sell my BTC and still receice Bitcoin Gold eventually?
1 block? 1 second 1 minute? 1 hour?
And will BTC be available for trading on exchanges immediately after the fork or it will be some time period (maybe minutes) in which you can't trade BTC?

In case there is a sell-off just after the fork, I want to be amongst the first ones to sell and get ahead of the market.
(I have a few hundred $ in BTC, so no fud here.)
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Plunging on: October 12, 2017, 03:14:36 PM
According to these guys, the altcoins drop in price is not dictated by bitcoin-connected allocation of funds:

According to them, only the coins traded on bittrex plunged after being dumped in the same time.

Stratis is pretty cheap now.
Adex (ADX) currently is one of the few Bittrex dumped coins that hasn't recovered yet. And it is a project with a huge potential anyway, comparable to that of BAT, I think.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gold fork on: October 10, 2017, 05:22:27 PM
I currently have BTC in Bittrex account. I read that they gave BCC after the August 1st fork to the BTC holders at the time of the fork.
Let's make the following assumptions:
-Bittrex will again give the forked Bitcoin Gold to BTC holders
-Let's say the forks hapens at 10:00am, for example

If I sell my BTC for another currency at let's say 10:02am, am I still gona receive Bitcoin Gold from bittrex or not?
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT | CPU mining | scrypt² | Scaling | New Roadmap Released on: October 10, 2017, 10:50:04 AM
I am kinda confused. Do you guys mean that if I have the same hardware, veriumMiner software will mine better than cpuminer software?
I am currently using cpuminer and mining on a pool.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TenX [ICO] end of June: making Blockchain assets spendable on: October 04, 2017, 10:54:36 PM
Hi,
If it is right that Bittrex delists BitShares because of SEC, do you think TenX may be in danger, too?
Can TenX be considered a security, because of the 0,5% transaction revenue rewards?

I am interested what do you guys think about it.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRM] Verium PoWT | CPU mining | scrypt² | Scaling | New Roadmap Released on: October 04, 2017, 10:36:05 PM
Hi guys,
I am in love with the PoST and the binary-chain idea. I have been researching it for a couple of hours, but it is very hard for me to find info about the economics of the coins. So can you help me out by confirming, declining or clarifying the following stuff:

Vericoin:
Inflation 1,6-2,8% yearly.
Neutralized by similar interest rate for staking.
Circulating supply: 30,391,655
Does it mean that the number of coins that increase every year is equal to the interest rate X staked coins?
Example: New coins = 2,8% x 30391655 / 100?

VeriumReserve:
PoWT. Store of value.
What is the inflation of the coin? How can I find out the amount of coins that will be mined every year?
Why will there be any demand for a high transaction fee coin?
I can only find logic for miners to sell it, but who is buying and for what?

If I want to make an investment, which of the two coins should I choose? Which one is economically and fundamentally primed for price appreciation?
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Halo Platform [HALO] - ICO Live! Tiered Masternodes/DEX/Marketplace on: October 04, 2017, 06:25:16 PM
How long have the devs been working on the project? Since when?

All I see is that Halo is started in 2017.
When I check twitter and other chanels, there is a sudden burst of information about the project since August and almost nothing before that.
I highly doubt that such a massive project in scope can be done in 5 months as the Roadmap suggests by 4 developers only, no matter how good they are.

Even registering an account and setting up a password is not yet without flaws as I see, and they are ready to release the platform with so many functions in a few months.

Sounds too good to be true for me.

If devs can deliver (and this is not a scammy ICO), then this is all I need for the crypto world and will definitely use it. Huge potential. Good luck, guys.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [DENT] Dent: Tokenizing and Liberating the World's Mobile Data on: October 04, 2017, 09:51:08 AM
I really like the idea and the potential behind it. The team also seems solid. And the partnerships they already have acquired is a good sign.
There is also a lack of competition in the cryptoworld with the same idea, not any of whom I know, at least. Wi Coin was added 11 days ago on CMC, which seems similar project but for wi-fi only, so the scope of the project is not as big. The team also seems much more rookie, compared to Dent team.

I want desperately to invest in this project, but there are few things that are concerning me and stopping me for now:
1. Devs don't give a sh*t about the community. No reply for 3 months. No news. No nothing. They don't give a sh*t that price fell under ICO prices now. What would be the point in getting involved in the ICO then? Or any ICO if price is dropping below ICO prices short after that.

2.Tweets like:
https://twitter.com/dentcoin/status/915164624080769024
https://twitter.com/dentcoin/status/912315133682167808 ...and some more like this in the twitter account.
What does it mean? That one of the devs is a regular attendee of these conferences? Just a visitor walking around? Or a speaker? I guess it is the former.
So not really any news. Seems more like a desperate move to show some activity on the project.
Although, a lot of guys shout for some communication and reassurence from the devs here and there, they don't bother for a single reply.

3.These are some valid concerns copied from one of the crypto bloggers, I agree with:
-The cost of mobile data on the DENT exchange has to be lower than the same package directly from telcos, otherwise arbitrage opportunities exist. For example, if a telco package for 5 GB is $50 a month, then the price for the same package listed on DENT has to be cheaper, otherwise people can just buy the plans from telcos and sell them on DENT for instant profit. Hence, people can just rely solely on using DENT to buy data plans without using a plan from telco. Telcos are not going to be ok with that.
-Because larger plans are cheaper on a per GB basis, people can just buy the largest plan that’s offered by telcos and then sell it piecemeal on DENT – telcos won’t allow this to happen because no one would buy smaller plans from them anymore.
-Telcos might not want to join the DENT platform because it is going to reduce customer loyalty. Users can use different service providers easily on DENT.

These issues and not explained in the whitepaper. I would like to see these matters and their solutions explained in a much more detailed manner.

Summary:
If all of this project's problems are lack of marketing and communication, then it is an undervalued project. But a professional team like that should know better they shouldn't abandon the community for 3 months.

If I see any sign of life out of these people, I am gonna probably throw some pennies in the project.

I guess this is gonna be another one high risk/high reward investment like WaltonChain.
