People right now is just in spectator mode. They are holding, and the ones outside the game are waiting. What we get now is just market noise. Once things start moving again, we'll see a super bubble again, with a further correction (higher than previous price)

rpietila, i've been commenting this with colleages and they all agree that this chart of the Microsoft price evolution isn't equiparable to the possible Bitcoin evolution because they say you can't compare a private enterprise like Microsoft with Bitcoin which intends to be a currency a number of reasons... I could go on buy I want to ask why you think this graph can be compared with the BTC possible future:

I'm bullish and patient for both BTC and XMR. The only reason is I couldn't fill up my stash yet. I don't complain if we hang around 3-digits until the end of this year.
Im holding my 60 XMR like there's no tomorrow. I think there's no way the new ceiling is going to be anywhere to the current price. I have seen this happen a lot of times in the few legitimate altcoins as they evolve on price. One of the exceptions being Namecoin tho. Not amussed at how that's turning out. I was about to invest and looking back at it it seems like it was an insane peak that's now deflating.

So darkota, would you agree that Cryptonote based coins do have a legitimate space in the crypto economy because they (as in the Bitcoin devs) can't copy whatever exclusive features they come up with right? (like ring signatures for instance)
Correct. The only coins that can stand beside/compete with Bitcoin as I said above, are coins that don't use the Bitcoin codebase, so Bitcoin won't be able to simply apply whatever features that coin has, into Bitcoin itself. So yes, Cryptonote coins have a chance at potentially competing/standing alongside Bitcoin, since they do not use the Bitcoin codebase aka are not Bitcoin based coins. Legit. This is why I big up Monero as much as I want. Sometimes they tell me im a shill, but im honest, I think Monero has a huge space in the crypto world when people realize how much a revolution actual internet cash would be. Bitcoin is great, but it isn't digital cash.

Just check twitter, Ashton Kutcher is big upping Bitcoin, this only means Ashton Kutcher is tweeting about Bitcoin to millions of girls that are following him. This is the best advertisement we can have when it comes to Bitcoin being used by girls.
Meh doesn't mean any of them will take any notice but I guess fans like to do things their idols endorse. Well they will at least read it and know it's something, that's something. As more and more celebrities start talking about Bitcoin in twitter then critical mass will ensue.

What scares me is the fact someone with a lot of money and evil intentions could buy a shit tone of ASICS and try to push a 51%+ attack in coordination. If sometimes this happens by (allegedly) accident randomly, imagine if when the pool is close to 51%+, a lot of ASICS are turned on out of nowhere in that same pool pushing the % a lot higher.

Dude we have Ashton fucking Kutcher already promoting Bitcoin in twitter, we also have Snoop Dogg on there, it's happening. We just need to hit critical mass and it to be accepted in the main buying places like ebay, so everyone becomes aware of it.
I sometimes wonder if in the future, rapers will rap about balling on Bitcoin and not on the dollar, even tho "dolla" sounds a lot more gangsta than Bitcoin.
Aren't some already doing that? Or are those just bitcoin enthusiasts with a minor knack for rap music? There are a lot of mediocre-quality novelty songs available on YouTube already! Yeah of course people are making songs about Bitcoin and stuff, but I mean legit big rappers like 2Chainz, Lil Wayne... mainstream rappers. How are these going to transition from dolla dolla to Bitcoin? lol.

So regarding BTC, I understand why people use it. So you can't be tracked down, it's useful, it's fast, etc etc.
But do you remain anonymous because of blackhat related activities? Do you just not want to be known?
I personally don't care. I just think that BTC is a great investment for me. Is Anonymity not that important to you?
If you run a business, you don't want people to figure out who your buyers and suppliers are. In some industries *cough*porn*cough* what you are doing is perfectly legal but stalkers are crazy. Yup. Also, if i were to buy something ilegal (not that i've ever bought anything ilegal) but if someone wants to go to say SilkRoad, why would they use Bitcoin if something like XMR exists tho? Like why would you want to leave traces on the blockchain or whatnot? I don't know. Isn't all of this solved if you just create a diffrent recieving address each time tho? It's a bit of a pain in the ass but should do the job.

I have a hard time trusting IPO's. I mean the devs never lose. If the proyect goes to hell, you lose your money and they can easily launder the BTC money and pull a Karpeles in your face. Overall not worth the risk. The only IPO i was going to support was Moolah.

This coin delivered merged mining to the CryptoNote community, it deserves a much higher price in my point, im hodling like there's no tomorrow.
I dont know I think this could end up abandoned by the mainstream because it seems way to huge and complex, wereas Bitcoin is just extremely simple and does what needs to be done.
So how does this coin deliver anything new or make it worth investing? There are so many anonymous coins nowadays, specially with TOR support, it seems to me like it's the latest gimmick of the day and everyone is trying to emulate DRK/XMR success.
DOGE still could have a place in the future as the "toy" coin for kids or whatnot. Like, if I had kids I wouldn't let them play around with my Bitcoin wallet, so you could install Dogecoin for them so they can send and recieve coins with friends and what not and that would be fun and you are learning Bitcoin at the same time since the wallets are basically the same.
So where's the developer on there? He hasn't loged in since april. Are we stuck on season 1? I mined like 100K of this coin then forgot about it. I assume it's pretty dead now? Who is in charge.
Wasn't the release planned as yesterday? (22 july) I cant remember right now but I reckon it should have been released already. What happened?

Dogecoin HAD a legitimate spot in the crypto world and was the first meme coin to ever deliver a good market response based on something as silly as a picture of a cute dog. This will not repeat itself ever again, so you can sit and relax at these Dogecoin clone tryhards trying to mimic the success. It's over boys, just let it go.
Another thread that will be looked at in 5 years in shame/amusement. You need to calm down, relax and sit comfortably. People is not going to let Bitcoin drop too low, at least not enough to call it a critical crash, because there is so much people that missed the boat butthurt about it that will jump on it as soon as possible.
I also see a similarity with the 2011 period, I think we will see a long steady period until next phase. Im ok with it as I can keep trying to get some BTC monthly, if the price goes higher i will be getting basically peanuts.
