701  Economy / Economics / Re: The Thailand government will distribute money to its citizens. Economists critic on: November 13, 2023, 09:16:42 PM
Well, what OP have said is not a totally new thing in the economics of the economy. Many countries have used such method to alleviate poverty and it worked for them while same method failed woefully for some other countries.

Another method which the government should have considered is subsidizing the products for her citizens. This will enable majority of the people with lower purchasing power to enjoy the economy, thereby doing the exact work that what is discussed in the Op would do.

I will strong say that the success of any of the above schemes depend so much on the corruption level of the country. I my country both schemes have been practiced and they failed. Recently, the new government removed subsidy because it was hijacked by a few elites. The government now introduced disbursement of funds to poor families, yet the top corruption politicians mered the vision. The best thing to do is to employ the citizens and pay accordingly (job creation).
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Analysts eyeing $3,000 as the next milestone for Ethereum (ETH) on: November 13, 2023, 09:00:45 PM
There is nothing stopping ETH from achieving new ATH if we have bull run now but regardless of bullrun, ETH is aiming for $3k mark for sure because it's already past $2k mark and looking at market situation I don't think this rally will stop atleast till the mid or end of December if we happen to check the historic data. Most of us know that $5k is not the limit for ETH as it has potential of much more and I feel it's going to be the pic of Altcoin during this anticipated bull run. Everytime once the price of Bitcoin becomes stagnant or begins to drop people will switch to the next most trusted crypto which is crypto and same thing happened in first quarter of 2023.
3k projection is not a wow for a coin that it's ATH is somewhere close to 5k and whose present price is pass 2k. Ethereum is a very good investment for anyone who wants to diversify. There are alot of possibilities in the Ethereum network and this will positively impact the price from now till the next bull run.

Who knows whether Ethereum will be the star of the bull run. Especial with blackrock recent involvement and interest in Ethereum and their recent silence of ETF features.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge coin everly hit $1? on: November 13, 2023, 08:52:08 PM
Why do altcoin don't have the characteristics of bitcoin? After the creation of bitcoin thousands of coin surface the crypto market, some altcoin became a huge success but some still reamain dumant and has no hope of even attaining the high of $1

Dogecoin is one of a long time COIN that has been in existence for over 10years now. since December 2013 dogecoin hit 0.0000869 on may 6 2015 and today is $0.076 now am wondering if it could reach $1price after 10years compeard to Bitcoin.
Among all the meme coins it is dodge coin that I trust most and I can say that it is the Father of the meme coins. Apart from its capacity as a meme coin, the involvement of Elon Musk in the coin is the major reason for for its viral acceptance. I still believe dodge coin more than every other meme coins, including of the Shiba inu and the recent PEPE coin.

Doge might likely hit $1 because that has been it's projection. If the bull run goes as planned, dodge might see $1 but I am scared that alot of people are holding doge and when there is a sell panic because of price rise, it might hinder it's movement to the moon.
Meanwhile, Elon might decide to put up a late minute drama with doge.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum and BlackRock on: November 13, 2023, 05:36:21 PM
Everyday we see these questions of “is now the right time”. Do you plan to do daily trading? Because if you want to hodl Ethereum for a long time, this question wouldn’t be valid. Look at a couple of years ago, everyone that kept on asking if it was the right time have gotten their answer. If you don’t invest when you can and keep asking when to invest, you’ll miss out. Invest the amount you won’t be worried about, you can add little by little and hodl for long terms.

I disagree, Ethereum is better than shitcoins but is it really that profitable for long-term investment? No.

Ethereum failed to rise even when bitcoin and other altcoins surged also the switch from PoW to PoS made them to be less decentralized and also they consider increasing the staking amount from 32 to 2048 ETH which shows that how much they want to become centralized which is against the adoption of cryptocurrency and if Ethereum goes in that way then surely it will fail in long term.
Ethereum is not failing any soon. I mean they control the market from contract perspective down to NFT and the rest. The coin is too flexible that quiet a large number of things can be done on the network and this is the reason the coin will be alive for so many years or decades in addition that it is the second most dominant coin in the cryptocurrency industry.

The BlackRock sudden switch to Ethereum is a good news for the coin. I don't know why BlackRock isn't much interested in bitcoin even when SEC has shown a green light to a certain extent or is there something else going on in background?
705  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: November 12, 2023, 10:28:53 PM
This is another alignment of the stars and it’s not the BestChange campaign’s fault, it’s just that the mempool is overloaded again. Will wait.
The congestion is easing off now as fees are beginning to drop. I just checked now, it's at 78 sats per byte as against 424 it rose to a few days ago. It's crazy whenever this mempool congestion happens.
I monitored it yesterday and it was just few blocks away from going through but suddenly the mempool became congested again.

The solution I'm thinking of is RBF - but I have no problem continuing to wait even if the transaction is confirmed in next week's pay period. Are there any other solutions you are thinking about right now?
This happened the other time, but I can't remember if Best_Change performed RBF or the transaction dropped on its own. Maybe, this will make a history that this week payment may drop before last week  Grin
706  Other / Meta / Re: HOW LONG HAS YOUR ACCOUNT BEEN REGISTERED ON BITCOINTALK? on: November 12, 2023, 09:39:40 PM
My own account has been registered since November 21, 2017, 03:38:32 PM, At that time I knew about Bitcoin and the Bitcoin Forum through friends who like to make money from the Internet.

How about you guys? Is There Anything Older Than My Account? And how did you know about Bitcoin at that time?

Ok!
I understand you very well. You just want a medium to tell us that despite that you are a newbie with 2 merits that you have known this forum for the past 5 or 6yrs. Congratulations.
But then, people are not recognised based on how long they have been in the forum, but how impactful they are the little time they spend here. Look at this account - PowerGlove, he is barely 1 year and few months but he has impacted positively to the forum.
707  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 12, 2023, 09:13:41 PM
It could be that the user doesn't know that it is against the forum rules to beg for merits.  Although theymos said excessive begging for merits is not allowed,  which means there is a room for normal or minimal begging for merits  Grin

"okay no merit gifts for you.

please read this thread it may help you out.
What a nice reply. Reading this thread and you not being harsh on him might encourage him to do more. However, if you have some smerits you could check his post history to see if there is any quality post you can drop some merits on.

Besides, The Sceptical Chymist runs a thread that he urges people to send him a pm to review their posts and  offer merits. Although you are not him. And the way you treated the matter might be the best way.
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you avoid scammers? on: November 12, 2023, 08:51:30 PM
Thats quite easy if you really meant to avoid it. Usually scammers takes in the form of a good samaritan that will lend or give you free money but its a total opposite of it since they will lure you and when you are already hooked then they will start doing their hidden agenda. Might as well avoid strangers or talking to someone you literally didnt know.

I wonder how people believe that a total stranger could make them rich. I mean someone who possibly might not be of the same nationality with you. If it were that easy, the stranger would have help all their relatives before remembering a random person online. The best  thing to do as you recommended is to avoid strangers.

..Sometimes too, scammers can send some email pretending to be binance or some CEX that you know and it will ask you to claim a free reward or do some task which if you dear to follow their instructions, it could cause you your asset. Trade with caution and don't trust anyone.
Exactly mate,  this is the reason I do not and I have never participated in any Binance and of CEX campaign or give aways. It is not always easy to distinguish the real and the fake promotional offers.

Unsolicited messages on social media platforms, chat apps, pop-ups asking you to open web page, input your private key/seed are all scams. Following this one tip will save you from most scams.

This is common in telegram and it is one of the reasons I have deactivated my telegram account several times.

The general rule to avoid scam is to treat all strangers as potential scammers.
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do ordinary people have? on: November 12, 2023, 08:43:04 AM
How many bitcoins do ordinary people have?

We need to know your definition of ordinary people in the first place. I thought you would elaborate on what you meant by ordinary people. Does ordinary people mean non celebrities or or it means low class person?

Would it be a satisfactory quantity if I had 0.1?

0.1 BTC is a very good digital. I know you need to have something much less than 0.1 to be a sat millionaire. A low class someone living in developing countries who has 0.1BTC should be considered good.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bull run best time to promote Bitcoin related affiliate programs? on: November 12, 2023, 08:19:15 AM
I feel that when Bitcoin is reaching peak prices, all news sites cover the news. As a result, lot of new users come to Bitcoin. As a result, this can be a good time to invest in promotion of crypto affiliate programs. The chances for conversions will be higher as Bitcoin popularity will already be in mind of people.

Normally, new projects emanate during the bull run and majority of such projects are scam projects. For a genuine and resilient project, it should start from the bear market and built up to the bull market in order to enjoy the market dividends.

OP, be mindful of the kind cryptocurrency affiliate program you will promote as majority will be scam. We don't because people will definitely troop into the cryptocurrency industry during the bull run and take advantage of the ignorance of the newbies who will join the market at the peak of the bull run.

If you are so sure the bull run will come, please buy bitcoin now such that during the bull, you will be joyous not to think about anything scam affiliate program to promote.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 12, 2023, 07:54:20 AM
If we talk about long term holding, we need to see about the performance when it's still a nothing to present. The simple logic is Laszlo bought 2 pizzas with 10,000 Bitcoins in 2010, now we can buy 1800+ pizzas with 1 Bitcoins.

Yeah we can't wait Bitcoin price to back below $1K anymore, but with the scarcity and other utilities that Bitcoin has, it's really make sense for people to hold for long term.

It depends on each person perspective, if I only talk about gambling I could say just buy any random meme coins and you will double your money in a day.
I understand the Op but I would still want the Op to understand that as long as bitcoin is concerned, holding for a long term still remains the best way as long as the investor enters the right time. The people that enter the bitcoin market during the bull run are definitely people that used to see the wrong side of  bitcoin.

However, even if anyone buys at $60k which is the region of the ATH, with more patients they will recover their capital and definitely be on profits. It is the people who invested with what they are not able to lose or what they will be needing in few weeks or months ahead that will feel the impact anytime the price deeps.

Also what I do not understand is why people hold for more than one bull run. I think if any investor witnesses one bull run, they can sell and wait for another deep.
712  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 11, 2023, 10:01:05 PM
I often read people saying they want to earn enough money so they don't have to look at price tag of product. Imo, even if you are rich you wouldn't want to spend money on things that are not worthy of price being paid.

You wanna look at product and then it's price, if it's worthy of price, you purchase the product.

To a truly wealthy person, price means nothing to them. Even myself, of recent I do not pay much attention to price but quality. I know the country I am residing, and I also know the city I leave in. I know the average cost of living in the city. I know the price to lounge in a hotel, I know the cost of food and even the cost of clothing. If the costs of things in a particular city is very far below your income, you will not mind the price because no matter how the vendor will inflate the price, it will not affect your purchasing power.

This is the formula that rich people use and that is why they are mostly unbothered about the price of products.
713  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 11, 2023, 09:29:01 PM
I am USA based. All sale prices, but there are a lot of sales.

Eggs are now down to $1.20 a dozen
Fucked up treated milk $3.49  a gallon
Good milk not treated $6.99 for a ½ gallon

Pork loin on sale $1.49 a pound
Pork spareribs on sale $2.49 a pound

Whole Turkey $1.99 a pound many are 20 pounds

Chicken drumstick $1.29 a pound
Chicken thigh $1.29 a pound
Boneless skinless Chicken breast $1.99 a pound

ground beef $2.50 a pound
steaks many cuts 8-20 a pound it varies.

Frozen veg 1.29 for ¾ pound

cheese varies
mozzellara untreated $5 a pound
ricotta untreated $4 for 2 pound container.
cheddar untreated $5 a pound

Note USA uses growth hormones to treat dairy in my opinion it is not healthy I do not buy it. I buy untreated dairy it costs more.

I have looked at this chart countless times and I do not seem to truly the chart compared to my mindset about the States. I have always known or thought that the states is much more expensive to live in. But this chart even seemed that my country Nigeria has even more higher cost of living than US.
In Nigeria you will need about $1.5 to buy a dozen of egg.

If it is so, I will make plans to relocate to US. Can you please tell me the cost of accommodation in the States so that I can do my analysis well.

Quote
As far as I know only the USA does hormones for its dairy. A lot  of the above are 2x the price if you can not find a sale.
Does not actually understand this
714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 10, 2023, 03:56:35 PM
I know to lot of people, who may have invested money into the wrong investment platforms outside of Bitcoin but pirade themselves as Bitcoin investment may misunderstand the title of this thread, but that is the truth, and the best way to start your Bitcoin journey.
.

Anyone that wants to get some fractions of bitcoin will always get it as opportunity to buy must always present itself. There's no point rushing into what anyone doesn't understand, it is a bad advice. You should rather advice newbies to first understand bitcoin, how to buy and how to save and then learn to do their own research before buying bitcoin.

My first time of buying bitcoin was when I was scammed, I didn't really know about the forum then. But when I finally know about the forum, I wasn't in a haste to buy bitcoin. Infact, will it interest you to know that any amount of bitcoin I own today all came from signature campaigns. So, with my weekly campaign payment, it was easy for me to DCA and buy bitcoin passively at my pace
715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Swedish Bitcoiners targeted by armed criminals on: November 10, 2023, 03:33:44 PM
This is the reason why I detest KYC. For safety reasons exchanges and casinos demand for customers KYC and for that same safety too customers decline KYC. Now this is what is happening at Sweden when Bitcoin holders details are been revealed who is safe then because that is why one needs to be careful with KYC as they can not guarantee the safety of your details from hackers.
If you can do without undergoing KYC, better for you  as it stands now KYC is no more safe again because of the rate at which details are stolen from third parties.

Apart from completing KYC on exchanges and other platforms that demands for it, bitcoiners should also try to live a private live. So many persons that are in the cryptocurrency industry are found of flaunting their wealth on the internet. So brand their shirts or cars with bitcoin logos while revealing where they live through their social media posts. This is enough for criminals to track anyone.

Try as much as possible to avoid completing KYC, but if you must submit, it should be on highly reputable platforms. Atleast level 1 KYC is ok. You don't need to send your biometrics, scam your face and consistently update your residential address.
716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading vs HODL - Personal Experience for Newbies on: November 10, 2023, 03:18:22 PM
A very good advice by Op but the irony of the matter is, newbies will always make the newbie mistakes, no matter how you advise or preach. Infact, there are hundreds of newbies who are yet to join the bitcoin bandwagon, they are patiently waiting for the bull run period when the price of bitcoin will be above $50k. By then, they will buy at once and hold, they won't know when to sell and the market will dump on them, by then bitcoin will become a scam to them. They will sell at lose and never return till another bull run happens.

As for newbie day traders, I was a victim. I learnt trading hastily during the last bull run, and due to the price movements, I was always on profits and I thought I had learnt how to trade. Not until the bear market came and many coins dumped on me. If you don't know how to trade, don't bother, just HODL.

It is interesting to see newbies motivating their fellow newbies. Also interesting seeing newbies teaching fellow newbies, but the most interesting is seeing newbies teaching established members about the forum. Most times I end up not reading such posts  The content of your post might be nice but the caption is rather scary for a newbie to start.

My advice for beginners is to be careful when posting, you should check here first:

The payment for week 199 has been sent:
By this time next week we will have week 200. This is a very big milestone. I congratulate Best_Change in advance. One day I visited the first pages of this thread and understood that Bestchange didn't have an easy beginning. Many people didn't believe in this project but time proved them wrong.

719  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes to watch out for on: November 07, 2023, 02:59:21 PM

try as much as possible to trust your analysis, leave it to play out if you want to make good money from the market if it's going your way.

if you must succeed in trading you must start learning to react to what the market is playing out.

A big contradiction dictated. You advised that we should trust our analysis and allow it to play out if we want to make big money. Not advisable to keep visiting the screen to twerk our emotions by doing the wrong thing. This is understandable, but the second advice, you said we should learn to react to what the market is playing out. This also means that we can let go our strategy and react with the market. Are you not sensing contradictions here?

Biggest mistake of traders is Do not use Stop Loss or Stop Limit orders. Those order types can help them to avoid big loss when the market moves very quickly, crashes with very panic selling from other traders and liquidations from exchanges.

I have had a very bad experience with the stop loss. It is a nice tool to mitigate losses and it is also a good tool to prevent wins. At times I feel that someone watches to see where you place your stop loss and trigger it and after which the market will reverse to profit immediately.

Another mistake from trader is they use Margin, Leverage. They believe they can get rich quickly with margin, leverage, futures but they get poorer or bankrupted.

I'll rather trade with 1k without leverage than $100 on X10 leverage
720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can this be possible? on: November 07, 2023, 02:21:53 PM

I am not that active here but I really want to know if can this be possible?, I am not a time traveler but as it is said on the comments at the source page, where I get the photo from, some said most of the investors are time travelers,, so can the chat be possible?

OP, the tone of your post showed that you believed the time travel story at the source of the above graph. So, it means that if I tell you right now that I am a time traveller, you will also believe me. If so, you aren't supposed to exist till today, scammers should have feasted on you.

If some one time travels they will take precautions to remain undetected.

Picture going back in time to 2011. Join the forum and buy btc. Say 1000 coins for 1000 dollars.

put them in coinbase. sell them all in 2013 for 1.3 million.

Then buy 3000 coins for 300000 in 2014.

At this point sell just a bit in 2017 maybe 300 coins for 6 million.

and buy some back maybe 400 coins for 1.6 million in 2018.

so you hit 2021 with 3100 coins.

sell 1100 at 60 k or 66 million.

buy 1200 back last nov 2022 for 16k.

you would now have 3200 coins and a ton of cash 💵

While philipma1957 would trouble themselve to travel backwards to buy bitcoin when it was worthless and probably sell it at the time past when the price appreciated. I feel that the journey might not be smooth. I would rather travel to 2025 and 2030 to see how much Bitcoin will worth then Grin
