701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 18, 2017, 02:47:56 AM
This one of my rigs which has had issues ever since windows update. 7 x MSI 470 4GB Gaming X. 1 with Hynix and 6 with Samsung

Any thoughts?

I was looking at the bios for my cards and I noticed my Samsung memory is set to 50% power. I don't remember doing this.

702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Batch Bios Backup Script on: May 18, 2017, 02:19:56 AM

Thought I'd share my simple batch file to backup all GPU bios roms with one click. This is for a 7 GPU rig but could be changed to whatever you have. It is so much faster and easier than using the GUI.

Code:
cd C:\--FILE-LOCATION\ATI winflash
AtiFlash.exe -s 0 backup\backup1.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 1 backup\backup2.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 2 backup\backup3.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 3 backup\backup4.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 4 backup\backup5.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 5 backup\backup6.rom
AtiFlash.exe -s 6 backup\backup7.rom

My other rigs are perfect. Just the ones connected  to zpool

What happened?
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows ETH Miner all cards disabled "error 43" on: May 17, 2017, 04:28:05 PM
2 of my 5 rigs still have an issue of only 5 of the 7 cards being recognized. Both are pcie slot 6 and 7. Any ideas?
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update broke rig. Anyone else have this issue? on: May 17, 2017, 04:23:12 PM
I got to it before 3 of my rigs updated.

Wasn't so lucky with 2 others.

I have them of them working with only 5 cards. Only seeing 5 out of 7 cards even in the bios.

Any ideas?

Totally doing this....
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows update broke rig. Anyone else have this issue? on: May 17, 2017, 07:58:52 AM
I actually just was getting on the forum to see if anyone one else was having this issue.....

Not happy.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New scrypt mining rigs - difficulty rise ? on: May 16, 2017, 04:44:03 PM
I want to invest in a new scrypt miner - due to the pump in the crypto world in the last few weeks I've gotten some extra funds and want to put them to good use now!

So which one do you think I would go for...

Of course there's the wolf v1 https://www.ehsminer.com/product/ehs-asic-scrypt-miner-vi/ which is 2 GH fast, but costs €6400.

I just read on CCN https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/knc-miner-returns-improved-mining-product-sale/ that knc is making a comeback with a titan 2.0 , which is  $1499 for 750 MH

What do you think would be best for the future, considering how the difficulty increases

the 1GH version costs 6400...
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 16, 2017, 04:38:29 PM
Ok I did a fresh install, and have not set any overclocking parameters in Claymore. Steering clocks and fan curves from MSI Afterburner.

Any idea as to why I start mining with all cards around 28.5Mh/s but progressively Claymore throttles some cards down to under 21?

I don't think that is claymore. I think that is the MAx power / heating kicking in.
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 16, 2017, 04:36:49 PM

I'm not even pushing my hardware, but the miner isn't stable and it's still full of bugs and some features are poorly implemented.

Claymore, I'm happy to pay you 1% of my earnings. You're a smart guy and this little app is making you a shit ton of money... But you're not done here yet! Keep working!
My experience:
I use claymore for hours without trouble with some BIOS.
Every-time Claymore hangs, I see hardware errors in the kernel logs, with segfault in the GPU, incoherent state of GPU(GPU fault detected, VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_ADDR, VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS, VM fault  )... and usually the CPU have locked thread that prevent shutdown (Not all CPUs entered broadcast exception handler).
I blame my hardware, over heating, overclocking, extremevoltage. heat is key. globally I blame myself.

much more stable since I increased airflow with 4 200mm fan, and selected VBIOS with TBP/MaxPower at 90W.
runs day long.

What cards are you using and what hash do you get with MaxPower of 90W?
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer L3+ How to enable Extranonce on: May 16, 2017, 03:21:23 AM
Speaking about extranonce.subscribe

I've done some light searching without really understanding what it does or is.

Anyone have a good link to what it really is?
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Antminer L3+ How to enable Extranonce on: May 16, 2017, 03:17:59 AM
Add /#xnsub to the end of the stratum URL

Works with zpool as well.

Thanks
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 16, 2017, 03:07:26 AM

Use an hdmi vga adapter on the adapter

Thanks. Can it be a dummy plug? I just ordered one for each machine. Do I need one for each card? Or should I just put in in the card I'm having issues with?

thanks again.

I've added a new algo and some new coins that go with it: Topaz and Doubloon

http://www.zpool.ca/site/gomining?algo=hmq1725

Cheers

FYI,

my 7x1080 does ~35MH/s for this algo.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.3 (Windows/Linux) on: May 16, 2017, 02:33:11 AM
I dont think this is a claymore issue, but I have some GPUs which act like they go to sleep and go to 300 mhz. If I hit the "set" button on WattTool it wakes them up and brings they clock up to what it should be.

Any ideas?

717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What sort of cost per KW/h are you getting and where do you live? on: May 15, 2017, 03:36:45 AM
$0.115
My local town thought it would be good if they have their own power company because, you know, they can run it better than a company which services millions of customers....

In ohio you can also lower your rate very easily. except with my power company.

They are horrible.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: May 15, 2017, 03:33:55 AM
I have read that you can copy newer versions of Claymore's miners over the versions in the NiceHash folder. Can anyone confirm or deny that it works to do that? Thanks.

It works perfect with no issues.

I've already upgraded all my machines to 1.7.5.12 and copied claymore 9.3. no issues

That is why it is odd they did not include it.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: May 15, 2017, 12:50:05 AM
No Claymore 9.3? odd.

Looks like you're trying to get WBB and CNC. That would be great. Thanks
