Ansonsten kannst du dir das Android Entwicklungspaket bei google herunterladen und dort ist ein kostenloser EMU mit dabei bzw. per usb und ADB kannst du auch dein Gerät auf den PC bringen.

Ja, gefährlich auf jeden Fall.
Es muß ja nicht sein das es ein "Manipuliertes" Gerät ist, aber Hiveon sollte dann auch transparent damit
umgehen und nicht verheimlichen was wieviel wohin geht.
Nützt ehe nichts, bekommt man alles raus.

Auf jeden Fall verstehe ich jetzt Kano, der sagte in einem anderen thread einmal das man diese Firmware
unter allen Umständen vermeiden sollte.

Zum OT Thema Hardwarewallet habe ich meine eigene Meinung, immer gefährlich!
Warum soll ich mir sowas an tun, wenn  ein Paperwallet das selbe macht.
Denkt immer dran ihr müßt Elektronik blind vertrauen (die läuft nicht ewig) und der Firma.

aber man sieht nicht wer oder was, alle drei Minen (Dev. Fee hätte ja einer gereicht).

Ich hatte aber Wireshark am laufen (mußte ja die IP des Miners erst einmal finden)
und dort konnte ich natürlich die IPs sehen mit dem der Miner Verbindung hat.
Der Rest war dann "Detektivarbeit", Der Api kann man nicht trauen, die Zeigt das an was sie will.
Deshalb sieht man ja auch nichts außer den * , so etwas will ich nicht im Netzwerk haben,
könnte ein Einfallstor für alles sein.
 

Das heißt also wenn zum Beispiel das Wort "moron" Auftaucht, dann wird dieser Thread hier dort unter BAD Aufgelistet , also fast wie google, oder verstehe ich das falsch?

Gute Idee, vergiss nicht eine Nachricht für den kleinen im Key zu hinterlassen und mit dem PK (den er ja dann hat)

Die Bilder sind nicht mehr da, jedoch funktioniert der dropbox link zu den Bildern noch.

Die Idee von Chris601 mit schön Verpacken ist gut, Gravieren auf Objekten wäre auch eine Lösung,
man könnte auch ein "zusammensteckbares" Objekt an unterschiedliche Graveure geben, und so
den privat Key Aufteilen, so hat niemand den vollständigen Code.
Dies könnte man auch mit einer Münze machen, wenn man diese bearbeitet (halbiert und mit Nut/Feder System versieht) evt. benötigt man dazu jedoch zwei Stk. damit das Stecksystem gefräßt werden kann.
Oder eine Müne die "Puzzle" artig ist.

Wenn du eine mit 1 BTC "geladene" Lealana Münze bzw. Casascius Münze bekommen würdest, wäre das
wohl etwas das "schön" Aussieht und wohl auch im Wert steigen würde, unabhängig vom BTC Kurs.
Ich selber habe vor Jahren eine Lealana mit 0,1 BTC gekauft (hier im Forum) und finde die einfach schön.
Leider kannst du die nur noch "gebraucht" bekommen, frage mal Lincoln6echo, der kennt sich damit gut aus.

No, I was unsure if this was just for upgrading to a new Hieveon Firmware, or for all types of Firmware. The Gear was not locked as SSH was possible.

The seller was a company for trading and not the former owner of the miner, this must be a mine in russia or ukraine according to the postagelables on the original packing. The miner was in perfect condition and got a
mark on it wich identify it as no# xx, the psu was labeled the same, but with a different no. I think a mine sold his old gears to an trading service and do not care about reseting anything. The pool settings where also in it and because I wiresharked the trafic I could see that one goes to btc-pool, a second connection was going to another port of btc.com and a third one was going to an IP located in Frankfurt germany, that boost my will to reflash the whole thing to not leave anything suspicious on the controler.

I did isolate the miner in a vlan as a precaution, and I had to use wireshark to find the fixed IP the miner was set to (the seller didn't included that information).

Germany? you might get mixed up with Austria, there you have BitPanda or the Austrian Post got ETH crypto stamps and selling btc on the counter, but in germany you need a banking license to run a btc atm and even you
have a kyc send to the bank your account get closed and people wait to get their money back because of regulations.
Some small shops take btc as payment, but thats all.
We are a third country when it comes to bitcoin compared to Australia.

I searched for "Hiveon Asic" and I found a milion instructions on how to get it on the miner. Instructions on how to uninstall that was nearly zero.

On github I found out a one liner, telling me to type "uninstall" but I did not know if the "backup" is stored on the miner itself (flash) or on a pc connected with that "Hive OS" and I still don't know.

Well, I bought that miner via ebay from a unknown source, I would not trust anything wich is on the miner itself because it is not locked. So I decided to only use the original files from bitmain just to be secure.


I did use a 16GB sd-card at first, but it won't work (ultra sd sandisk), so I took an old 4GB former used on my raspberry pi and geparted it to fat32 and all went well.

Hallo alle zusammen,

es werden in Ebay teilweise sehr günstig S9 Miner Angeboten.
Beim "Stöbern" ist mir dann auch so ein Ding zugelaufen,
(Angebot an den Verkäufer und der hat tatsächlich dem lächerlichen Preis zugestimmt).

Der Miner und das Netzteil dazu kamen in einem großen Packet und steckten jeweils in der Originalverpackung
mit allen Beilagen von Bitmain.
Ausgepackt und gestaunt, wie neu! Kein Staubkorn am oder im Miner (war also nicht von ...  ihr wißt schon)  .

Also schnell Angeschloßen das Teil und wohl weißlich in ein extra dafür angelegtes VLan gebracht.
Noch einen DHCP Server auf meinem Linux Server Installiert da die meißten ja damit Arbeiten, ich nicht.
Miner Eingeschaltet und keine Verbindung zu dem Teil, scheint eine Fixe IP zu haben und kein DHCP nur welche?
Also Wireshark angeworfen und die IP gesnifft. Als ich dann Zugang hatte kam die Überraschung:
Keine Original Bitmain Firmware sondern eine "Hiveon Asic" Firmware.
Sah ganz Nett aus, hat auch funktioniert, es waren aber noch 3 zusätzliche Parasiten am Minen.
Eine IP aus Frankfurt war auch dabei. Das ist mir aber zu heiß, "Dev Fee" und "welcome to my Botnet" nein Danke.
Die Firmware mußte da also runter, nur wie?

Nach Lesen und suchen sowie Pilipma1957 fragen habe ich dann alles zusammen gesucht und durchgeführt.
Nun ist wieder eine Originale Bitmain Firmware mit SSH und AB sowie Enhanced Low Power Mode drauf.

Falls das einem von euch ebenfalls passieren sollte hier mal eine Anleitung wie Ihr die Original Firmware wieder auf den Controler bekommt:

Bitte zuerst vollständig Durchlesen, und falls etwas unklar ist, Fragen.

Benötigt wird:
1. Kreutzschlitzschraubendreher
2. SD-Karte 4 GB (Bitmain sagt 16GB, aber das ging bei mir nicht)
3. Die Firmware Ausschließlich von Bitmain direkt herunterladen (es gibt keine Ausnahmen!)
4. Zugang zu eurem Router, wir werden DHCP benötigen

Zuerst mal die notwendigen Dateien von Bitmain herunterladen:

Bitmain Firmware für das Control-Bord (t9+ wird ebenfalls in unserem S9 benutzt)

Hinweis:
Man findet die Firmware auf der Bitmain Homepage unter Service/Others/Flashing Sd Card with image.
Dann muß man das entsprechende Model (hier T9+ => S9) Auswählen.
Falls Ihr einen anderen Miner Typ habt wählt diesen aus (S17 oder so).

Firmware für den S9 typ:
In meinem Fall (13.5 THs) war es der S9 ohne irgendwelchen zusätzlichen Buschstaben oder Bezeichnungen.
Ich wollte eine Version die SSH offen hat und Asic Boost sowie Enhanced Low Power Mode.

Man kann auch die neuste Firmware Auswählen aber dann sollte man sich bewußt sein das es dann kein SSH mehr gibt und ein Umflashen auf eine ältere Version (Unsigniert) ist dann ebenfalls nicht mehr möglich!

SD-Karte vorbereiten:
Benutzt am besten eine 4GB Karte, die ist Groß genug für die Firmware und man hat keine schwierigkeiten mit Kompatibilität.
Die SD-Karte sollte Fat32 formatiert sein.
Entpackt die "t9+ -SD Tools.zip" Datei und Ihr erhaltet einen T9+ Ordner.
Wechselt in diesen Ordner und kopiert den gesamten Inhalt auf die SD-Karte.

Wir müßen den Controler des Miner Ausbauen damit wir die zum Booten benötigte Jumper Einstellungen
vornehmen können. Da kommt man im Eingebauten Zustand nicht dran.

Alle Stecker Abziehen (Strom / Lüfter / Verbindungskabel)
Den Lüfterhalter hinten durch Abschrauben der vier Kreutzschlitzschrauben Abbauen, nicht den Lüfter Abschrauben!
Jetzt kann man die Hashboards nach hinten wegziehen. Es reicht wenn Ihr die halb herauszieht.
Die Metallklammern seitlich am Gehäuse die den Controler arretieren zur Seite biegen und den Controler
komplett herausziehen.
Jetzt die vier Jumper Lokalisieren (links von der Ethernetbuchse) und den links Außen [J4] umstecken.

Nun die SD-Karte mit den Kontakten nach oben in den SD-Kartenhalter Einschieben.

Jetzt das Netzteil nur mit dem Controller Verbinden und Einschalten, Abwarten für 1-2 Minuten.
Ihr solltet sehen das alle SMD LEDS direkt leuchten. Die zwei 3mm LEDs (grün und rot) bleiben jedoch aus.
Wenn der Flashvorgang Abgeschloßen ist dann Blinked diese beiden LEDs im Sekundentakt und Ihr könnt den
Netzteilstecker wieder Abziehen.
Den Jumper [J4] wieder zurück in die Ausgangsposition stecken und den Miner wieder zusammenbauen.
Alle Stecker wieder Anschließen (Strom / Lüfter / Verbindungskabel).

Den Miner nun Einschalten, Achtung: alle alten Netzwerkeinstellungen sind nun weg, der Miner ist in der
Grundeinstellung auf DHCP gestellt.
Jetzt müßen wir also im Router nachsehen welche IP der bekommen hat.
Nun mit dieser IP über den Webbrowser in den Miner Einloggen.
Wie bei Bitmain üblich mit User:root / Passwort:root.

Auf der Startseite nun [Upgrade] Auswählen und in der nachfolgenden Seite unter [Flash new Firmware image]
den Haken bei "Keep Settings" entfernen. Anschließend unter Image auf "Durchsuchen" klicken.

Jetzt auf das Verzeichniss wechseln wo ihr die Firmware Abgespeichert hattet und die ".tar.gz" Datei Auswählen.
(Diese Datei nicht Entpacken!) Ich habe für meinen S9 diese Firmware genutzt "Antminer-S9-all-201812051512-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz".

Nachdem ihr euch zwei mal Vergwissert habt das ihr die richtige Datei Ausgewählt habt drückt ihr "Flash Image".
Das geht sehr schnell und wenn das Flashen erfolgreich war seht ihr die Meldung das der Miner neu Startet.

Nach dem Neustart befindet sich der Miner allerdings wieder im DHCP Mode und Ihr müßt wieder im Router nachsehen
welche IP er bekommen hat. Aber nun sind wir fertig und ihr könnt alle Einstellungen wie Netzwerk und Pool, Low Power Mode (AB) und auch Enhanced Low Power (weniger Verbrauch/Hash Leistung) durchführen und speichern.

Hi all,

I bought a used S9 from ebay and to my suprise I noticed that there was not the expected bitmain firmware on it, instead it was equiped with this "Hiveon Asic" firmware. This firmware might be good, but I don't trust that "Dev Fee" and maybe "welcome to my botnet" thing in my network. So I searched and read a view things, I also asked Phil for some advise to get rid of this firmware.

I thought that might be usefull for others if they run into the same problem, so I wrote this:

Restore S9 control board back to original bitmain firmware

To do this please read this completly BEFORE you take any actions. If something is unclear, please ask first, english is not my native language and I write it as I would do in german.

you need:

1. philips screw driver
2. sd-card with max. 4GB
3. Files from Bitmain (see links)
4. Access to your router to see the ip given to the miner when using dhcp

First of all we download the needed Files:

Bitmain Firmware for the control board (t9+ is used on our S9 as well)
* It is used to recover the control board firmware of T9+

You can find it on the bitmain web page under Service/Others/Flashing Sd Card with image and then select the model of your miner if you need this for a different miner.

Firmware for your S9 type. In my case (13.5 THs) it was the S9 without any extra letter and I wanted that with SSH open and low power mode / enhanced mode.

You can also choose the newest Firmware if you be aware of that then SSH is closed after Installing and you can't go back to an old firmware if you don't like it!

SD-Card Preperation:

Use a 4 GB sd card, that is enough room for the firmware and you don't run into incompatility problems. You should format that sd-card with fat32.
Uncompress the "t9+ -SD Tools.zip" file and you get a folder "t9+"
Now go into that "t9+" folder and copy the whole content of it to your sd-card.

We need to gain access to the control board to change the jumper setting of J4 because only then we are able to boot from the sd-card for this downgrade.

Unconnect any plug on the control board (power, fans, interconnections)
Unscrew the four philips screws for the rear metallplate wich holds the fan on the housing (don't unscrew the fan)
Now slide the three Asic PCBs a bit out (nearly half the size of it)
Retract the metal clips on both sides of the housing wich secure that the control board keeping it's position and slide the control board completly out.
Locate the four jumper on the left of the front side (where the ethernet connector is).
Now move the jumper marked [J4] this is the leftmost jumper, to toward the front.

Insert the sd-card with the contacts upwards into the controler.

Now connect the power plug to the controler and wait (1-2 Minutes)
You should see that the green SMT LEDs on the controler are lid, on the front side you see one red and one green tht 3 mm LED and they are off during the loading of the firmware.
When the loading and flashing process is finished both of that LEDs are blinking in 1 sec intervals.
Now you can disconnect the power plug and relocate the jumper j4 back into the old position.
Reassemble the miner and put back all plugs into their position (power / fans / interconnection).

Power up the miner, be aware that the old network settings are lost after flashing the new firmware and therefor the miner is in DHCP mode!

After you know what IP address your miner got (look into your router), log into the miner with your web browser and the ip. Passwords are as usual with bitmain User:root / Password:root.

On the mainpage select Upgrade, under [Flash new firmware image] uncheck the "Keep settings" and click on "Search files".

Now navigate to the folder where you stored your downloaded files and select the firmware file with ".tar.gz" at the end (Do NOT uncompress them), in my case I used "Antminer-S9-all-201812051512-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz".

After you rechecked twice that this is the file you need, press "Flash Image".
The flashing is very quick and when finished you see the message that the miner reboots now.
The miner restarts and again it is in DHCP mode so you have to look after the ip in your router again.
But now you are done, just enter the network settings you prefer and the pool you wan't to mine on.
