As for MM again people...

Sorry, nothing at the moment.  May be able to use PoolServerJ and a simple namecoind to do this, but last time I checked these were still a little iffy, and I haven't had time to check recently.

Also, consider donating some hashrate to this 0% fee pool because it is so awesome, maybe what you want will happen sooner if there's incentive. I know when I pay people things typically get done.

What's my rate of return and timeline on 50BTC?
703  Economy / Marketplace / Electronics site rebirth on: November 02, 2011, 12:02:07 AM
Hey all! A very good fiend of mine had an online electronics store for a bit similar to newegg that never really took off. Good site, good prices, but amazon and newegg and ebay have the market pretty much cornered. I was thinking, so far from what I have seen there isn't much in the way for btc accepting sites like his (newegg like) with good inventory. If I could talk him into reopening and accepting BTC...

Is there interest?

If so, I'll be sure to let him read this thread.

Joined this pool with a painfully slow hash rate.  Here's to hoping I'll get lucky.

All are welcome and all help
707  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: running more then 6 GPU's on: October 31, 2011, 09:56:32 PM
Bamt is custom coded, idk what went wrong with it and aaron wolfe was unresponsive/didn't want to help. I think linux supports up to 12. Windows 7 is supposed to support 8, but CCC has serious problems when going over 4 gpus and will bsod after a few minutes
708  Economy / Goods / Re: (WTS) **New** Molex to PCIe 6 Pin adapters on: October 31, 2011, 09:45:59 PM
I still have these!
709  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: running more then 6 GPU's on: October 31, 2011, 09:41:04 PM
Yes! I'm back up to 8 5870's running a custom linux iso a friend made because bamt stopped recognizing the eighth gpu. Bamt does run 7 just fine though.

This is awesome! Almost as good as a piece of property I saw listed for BTC

If you are getting a BSOD in relation to your ATI drivers, it's because you have CCC installed and more than 3 GPUs. This is a known problem that they have done nothing about and it comes up out of the 'blue'! Pull a card, uninstall CCC and it should work just fine
712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitCoin miner for Android? on: October 31, 2011, 04:43:37 AM
Check out 'ARM' section of this site, Motorola devices for example are running on ARM processors (as are many others)

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

there is limited stats there but Nokia N900  running on ARM for example is getting less than 0.36 Mhash per Joule, which is not at all efficient, let alone cost effective (yes, I know, it's not android).

Speaking of mining on an N900,can somebody please provide me a download link to the mining program for the N900 phone along with setup instructions please as I really want to gte it started asap now for my experiments.Even if it's CPU only,I want the link to it.While I'm on the subject can someone please build a GPU miner on that phone and also an overclocking tool for N900s GPU.Thinsg for people to know:I know that overclocking is risky to the N900,I know that mining is probably worthless on N900.All I care about is that I can carry out my experiments involving multiple devices form multiple platforms in addition to my 2 computers.

Thank you

Hope you are joking right ? I don't even dare OC my laptop and you want to OC a phone GPU lol good luck !

I've OCed every android phone I've owned for development and quadrant testing, never any problems. Battery life is key in development of new phones, so they are essentially extremely underclocked from the factory. Bumping .2-.4 GHz typically will not damage a phone, but they do get hot with a battery sitting on them.

Edit: I'm not saying you should mine on your phone though. You will seriously depreciate the life expectancy of your device! You may get 2 months out of your phone. It's designed to be small and portable, not for constant use and heat dissipation.
713  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] HP TOUCHPAD! and 5850s & 5870s | on: October 31, 2011, 03:54:26 AM
$600 for the GPU & motherboard w/ CPU and RAM

mobo is a evga 780i sli board and it comes with the CPU and RAM installed
Supports 4x GPUs

That seems a bit steep to me

190 - 5870
110 - 5850
70 - 780i
~60 - 775 CPU & DDR2 Ram

How long has it been used for? Is it still in use? Is this your mining rig?

All Is brand new and the CPU is a Intel P4 3.0Ghz and I haven't used it any of them.

GPUs are Gigabyte's and they have dual fans on them.

Proof of ownership and you may have a deal. Xoom + BTC TBD

Here is the proof.

714  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If you're mining at around break even prices, STOP! on: October 31, 2011, 01:44:24 AM
Profits aren't the only reason that people support the network with hashing power.  I don't feel it is your (or anyone elses) place to tell miners to stop because they are mining at break even (or even at a loss).

Yes, thank you. Helps strengthen my FX and precious holdings and few are the wiser
715  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Should I expect my air conditioner to use alot less power now it's getting cold? on: October 30, 2011, 01:07:02 AM
Are you using cases? I only have one card that runs at 80C and that is by itself in a a cased computer. My 12 other 5870's are running at 58-61C in open air rigs.
716  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Merged Mining Investment Opportunity on: October 30, 2011, 12:41:06 AM
  • question: which pool will you use? I opt for eligius, that way we can confirm mining operations/profit without needing a login (just the pool address necessary), easy namecoin merged mining support (I tried it, very simple)
I plan to use multiple pools due to all the DDOS attacks happening lately.  I think using 1 pool would invite problems.

  • question: what OS do you use for mining?
I'm planning to use Win7 to begin with.  I may switch to Ubuntu at some point if I feel that the operation would benefit from it.

I would suggest using BAMT. It will be much easier on you in the long run and will lower your overall power consumption
717  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: are there speed-differences between Pools? on: October 29, 2011, 04:54:08 PM
Join a SMPPS pool ( like ars  Wink ) with no fee. No need to be "lucky" you get paid for all valid shares.
718  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have TWO 6950s - need the rest! cheaper is better on: October 29, 2011, 05:21:59 AM
Will you be looking for further expansion of your operation down the road?

If you are, I'd look into MSI's GD70 or GD80 boards, or the mother load Big Bang Marshal B3. All these boards support 5 or more GPU's, The GD70 and 80 support the sempron whereas the marshal only supports the sandy bridge i series.

I run a marshal rig that houses 8, temporarily down to 7, and the thing screams away are a decent wattage.

Also the best psu i have used yet for +5 gpu's has been the Antec High Current Pro 1200. 99% of its power goes to it 8 +12V rails, high gauge wiring to keep it cool and 80+ gold rating.

Do you have a good reason to believe that those BoA's "direct bank account transfers" are irreversible?

No not at all, it just saddens me when people use that establishment. I meant no harm or offense

Send me a PM. I'll take a magical surprise gift in my mail in the distant future! This sounds exciting and worth the BTC alone
