701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: February 18, 2024, 04:48:11 PM
Casinos are trying to attract people with disposable income and that is clearly not kids whose only source of income is whatever their parents give them as an allowance. It is a false dilemma when people say that children are being exposed to something negative and something should be done about it. People often use protection of children as an excuse to restrict people’s freedom. It is important not to let these alarmists spread misinformation. There is no evidence suggesting that simply being exposed to gambling ads leads to children becoming degenerate gamblers and ruining their lives. It’s a completely absurd idea.
I agree with you. Children don't have enough funds to become gamblers, neither personal banking accounts to make deposits on gambling platforms. Moreover, children's interests fluctuate constantly. Of course they may watch a gambling ad on the TV and develop a sudden interest for the practice, especially if there are other children at school or at social medias' groups talking about this matter, but it's likely to be a transitional curiosity which won't go further as soon as they conclude it's not a feasible activity for children.

So, they will migrate their focus to videogames, cartoons, movies and other subjects of the puerile universe once again. In every cases, it's important parents monitor the routine of their children, and watch closely what kind of content they are consuming, especially on the internet. It's essential parents talk to their children in a daily basis about how they are doing, what the news are and so on. To be responsible parents also mean to show genuine interest for the routine of their children.
702  Economy / Economics / Re: One of the biggest problem in our society is that average person don't have on: February 17, 2024, 11:37:56 PM
Average person don't have access to capital flow.
As I see here, the issue consists in not having access to loans in the same manner wealthy individuals have, is it?

Instead of thinking how unfair it is, why not start looking for alternatives to overcome this disadvantage while playing the game of life? Moreover, to not have access to capital flow isn't that bad, since this way you are safe from getting into a lot of debt in case your plans go wrong.

If you are so skilled, you probably won't need access to capital flow, as you can start making money from zero, without accumulating debt and interest to be paid along the process. Of course there isn't a certain recipe for success in this world, and some working methods for oneself might not work for someone else. Anyway, you should pick an alternative and start working on it with full effort, good will and endurance.

One example is to educate yourself in a professional field to become a master on your career, so you can stand out as professional, raising the demand for your work inside the jobs market. This way you can still thrive, without necessarily having access to capital flow.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Who's Buying this Shit?', Episode #1: AXS on: February 17, 2024, 10:44:02 PM
The hype is gone and AXS is already losing price on long run. There isn't any good reasons to justify a potential pump in AXS' price, unless the team behind it were injecting money from the company's profit to boost the altcoin's price. The tendency is that AXS keeps losing price, as competitions' winners earn their prizes in AXS, so naturally they must desire to immediately exchange it into a more solid cryptocurrency.

Unfortunatelly the game died from the moment Mavis Hub decided to forbid players from grinding SLP on adventure mode and made rewards exclusive for PvP mode, what means only expensive Axies' teams remained competitive, while the cheap teams became useless.

It stopped being 'Play to Earn' to be 'Earn if You Can'!
704  Other / Off-topic / Re: Relationship not marriage, a need to be careful with the information we share. on: February 17, 2024, 09:48:59 PM
How about you? are you being too open in the relationship you are keeping that is not yet marriage, you could be doing yourself some harm by exposing to the person who you are in a relationship with where you have invested which is in bitcoins, and even giving them too much information about how you have kept your seed phrase safe. The sweet relationship can go sour in a moment and that your lover can become your enemy. Unless you are married, do not share all information about you with the person you are in a relationship with.
Yes, I have already shared informations about my Bitcoin holdings and investments with someone I've been in a relationship in the past, although I didn't share login informations, neither taught how to deal with Bitcoin. I agree it's a risky move to do so, but when you want to make things work for real you end commiting some mistakes, like trusting the other person from the bottom of your heart, keeping no secrets between both of you.

Reality is harsh, though, and things don't happen as we firstly expect. Even if you are married to someone, I don't think it's a good idea to share private informations from your investments, because a paper signed (marriage) doesn't mean anything after all. It's not a guarantee of happily ever after, anyway. A betrayal may come from a girlfriend, fiancé and even a wife, so make sure you only talk about your personal invstments to totally trustful people.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't be an idiot,don't play slots on: February 17, 2024, 09:36:13 PM
Gamblers like slots because it's a brainless game. They just want to relax and have a good time with some chances of making profit in the end. Of course it comes with a price when compared to sports betting, for an example. In slots all you have to do is to click the roll button, while at sports betting you have to carefully analyze the teams and players involved, recent news, the pros and cons of each competitors, what inevitably demands a long time from the gambler.

In the end, you may hit more consistent results on long run when compared to slots, but for someone just willing to have some fun it might not worth at all considering results aren't guaranteed. First, because sports might not be a subject of their personal interest and second, because it's too time demanding, and they might not have this time disponible due to another appointments from daily routine.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 17, 2024, 07:28:23 PM
From my opinion, I think there isn’t any need to stake or risk one’s money on a game simply because you want to catch fun when you could simply not risk your money and still have fun while watching same game.
If they don't stake or risk their money, the game isn't going to be fun anymore. The fun consists in risking money, because it plays with variables and impacting outcomes for their lives. If there isn't money at stake, to lose or win won't make any difference at all, as it's not going provoke consequences, therefore, thrill, excitement and adrenaline won't be felt by the gambler.

A similar example could be a competition where there aren't winners or losers, and everyone gets a trophy in the end. For that reason, competition's members won't feel motivated to do their best on the tasks required, neither will feel proud of themselves or excited about the results in the end. Probably they won't even want to participate again in future competitions.

The possibility of being rewarded, while most lose, and standing out among the crowds always awake the pride and vanity of human beings. It feels like being special and unique. That is how gambling affects your mood positively when you win.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 17, 2024, 07:08:34 PM
I had advice him to use only 20 percentage of salary to get away from entire gambling loss.
That is still a quite high budget to be used for gambling reasons, considering this person must have many other expenses to pay off in a monthly basis. In my opinion, lost money in gambling should be considered lost forever. If you want to recover it, you must find alternative sources of income which don't involve betting.

But he is now repeating the same 100 percentage of income from weekly, biweekly and monthly. So he was in the big loan problem.Still he is arranging funds from loan to play gambling, because he think that the recovery was possible at the place where he lost his money. What will be your suggestion for my friend to recover from the gambling addiction.
Then he can expect to lose 100% of his income continuously, plus increase his debt with banks or loan sharks considerably. By following this strategy, those 64,000$ he already lost will look like beer money when compared to the big financial trouble he is getting into. I just fear at some point he is going to pay his debt with his life... I would tell him that if he values his life, he should forget about this idea immediately. Suicide and murder walk side by side with debt! Sometimes the person's conscience doesn't forgive, and in other situations loan sharks don't forgive.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buying and Selling of Casino Accounts (Discussion thread) on: February 17, 2024, 06:51:11 PM
I suppose that by purchasing a casino account, someone must be interpreting this as an investment, correct? Sadly, this is a dumb idea, because even though it's a VIP account full of benefits such as raised rakeback, it doesn't worth at all, since the gambler is still likely to lose on long run, so he isn't going to recover the investment made, plus the following deposits made to start wagering after hitting long loss streaks.

If it's a forbidden practice, it must be read in terms and conditions of each casino platform. Anyway, if I were the casino's operator, my only concern would be regards ideological falsehood, since KYC accounts could be being used by another individuals, what configures a serious crime, where the casino might be accounted guilty as well, if spotted it's being conniving with the practice.

However, the sole act of gamblers selling VIP accounts to each other shouldn't be an issue for the casino, because it doesn't prejudice the house financially in anyways on long run. Gamblers still lose the more they play, and receive only a small percentage of the wagered amount through rakeback, which isn't enough to break the house, neither guarantee gamblers the ROI over the accounts' purchases.
709  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 15, 2024, 11:45:12 PM
Farming sector is already dominated by few landowners who control vast portions of lands. Even if the young generations wished to become farmers, they would have to conform being small land owners, without the possibility of making huge profit, unlike their competitors. So, it's definitely not an option for new generations to go for it. The world is heavily centralized in few hands, and everyone else has to find gaps on this system to survive and thrive.

Then alternatives such working on informatics field, and adopting smart technological investments such as Bitcoin become interesting options for these folks when drawing their futures. And even if youngs have interest for farming matters, I believe there are many farming simulators around on the internet they can play and "feel" how it is to be a profitable farmer... We live in the age of artificiality, so it's "natural" artificial solutions are put in practice to fulfill the desires of the young generations.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most challenges faced by gamblers on online casino platforms? on: February 15, 2024, 11:31:50 PM
Let's talk about this and share mutual experiences and how we sorted it out
These are issues faced by gamblers at online casinos which may happen due to their own distraction when reading the terms and rules of the website, due to a temporary internal error of the platform, or due to the platform being or turning into a scam.

Personally, I have not faced many issues when playing at online casinos, because I have always been very careful when choosing where to deposit and play. I always look for reviews first, especially on this forum, before going for an online casino. I check how reputable they are in bitcointalk forum, and if the feedbacks are positive, and if I see they invest on this community, these are good indicators the platform is a good alternative to gamble.

Maybe if other gamblers did the same, they would also face such issues less frequently when gambling virtually.
711  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 15, 2024, 11:20:27 PM
Just won the high reward back to back but unfortunately I won lotteries instead of BTC or RP.
I know that even lottery can be lucky but only in case I win something out of it.
Good to see that I got the high rewards not once but twice.

Congratulations. Well, at least you are going to have some extra chances on the next lottery draw by winning the maximum prize twice in WoF. It's not the ideal for us who prefer hitting the RP and Satoshis prizes, since we know how hard it is to be lucky enough to win the lottery with so much competition around, but I would say it's better than nothing... Good luck, I hope these tickets can bring you a nice prize on the next draw!

FUN keeps falling... 11 satoshis already and -5.53% on the last 30 days. Cry

Too bad it's not following Bitcoin's rhythm to the moon.
712  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: February 15, 2024, 11:06:27 PM
Finally Celsius returned part of the money to my Coinbase account. I can confirm investors are being paid by the platform, as announced recently. Despite their support not replying in any moments, they considered the personal informations provided previously and returned 32,51% of my original portfolio. That was more or less the sum of money expected to be received, so no surprises here.

Now it seems we still have some participation on their mining business, so let's see what is going to happen next. I think the novel isn't totally over yet.

As you can see, part of the funds were paid in BTC and other part in ETH.
713  Economy / Economics / Re: Is increase in minimum wage a good method to fight inflation? on: February 15, 2024, 03:38:53 PM
So guys, is increase in minimum wage not a good measure to fight inflation. Let's have your opinion.
No, because it doesn't mean anything on practice. Here in our country the minimum wage was readjusted in 10% this year, but in counterpart the prices of every goods and services increase much more than 10%, so there isn't real increasement in purchasing power. It's quite the opposite, we are losing purchasing power along the years, as inflation is always suppressing minimum wage's readjustments. Actually, increasing minimum wages is a populist measure by governments who know their illiterate population will think consistent gains are being granted to them by the benevolent government.

If governments wished to fight inflation they would stop printing money, besides encouraging education and self-development among their citizens. However, it's not interesting for government to rule a nation of independent people who are able to think by themselves. To rule among sheeps is always more comfortable... Especially when they feel thankful for minimum wage's increasements which don't bring any real benefits at all.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between afford to lose and can't afford to lose. on: February 14, 2024, 10:24:11 PM
Just because you have a fixed source of income or a job it doesn't mean you are going to gamble with money you can afford to lose, because the whole fixed income may be already compromised with fixed expenses which you can't fail paying for in a monthly basis. Let's say you have a regular job where you make 300$ monthly. If your rent is 100$, food costs are 100$, electricity and water bills are 50$ and the child's school is 50$, it means you can't afford to lose any single penny of your regular job's income with gambling, despite having an income.

To be afford to lose means you still have an exceeding money after you pay for all your fixed expenses, so you can give yourself the right to risk losing those funds without any major negative consequences for your finances and life progression.
715  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Europe should create their own European Forces on: February 14, 2024, 09:55:49 PM
I agree. The point is that Trump is saying "you have to pay into NATO" but then the US has the strongest political hold on NATO so US would naturally be leading on NATO decisions. It seems to me that by spending 2%, Europe would be able to deploy a sufficiently dissuasive force and power projection ability.
I don't like Trump's instance of blackmailing European allies in public like this, as it's only going to be useful to fuels Putin's thirst for new territories, while showing how cracked and splitted the West is. On the other hand, isn't it common agreement every NATO's countries should destinate 2% of their GDP to the alliance management's costs? USA and Germany are proportionally financing most expenses, so it's natural they demand other countries to contribute with more money, although blackmailling allies in front of the eyes of the common enemy isn't the ethical way to do so.

Trump is trying to extort money from Europe for his own US weapons production, and frankly he is not a trustable ally, so perhaps that money is better spent putting "Europe First".
Well, if European countries think it's more advantageous for them to take care their own security by themselves when analyzing the costs involved, then they should go for it... For me it still seems more logical to give the 2% USA is asking for to NATO. If they are going to get independent from US, costs involved to be invested on national defense must be much higher.
716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What contributes to a casual gambler becoming an addicted gambler? on: February 14, 2024, 09:45:06 PM
To escape from an aversive state of consciousness the individual is facing about himself.

That is, when reality is too harsh to be endured, the person needs to cope with this situation by escaping someway in order to find relief, which is usually found through activities which reward instant and temporary pleasure, such as alcohol, drugs and gambling. The effects are always intense and temporary, but seem enough to forget the problems and the self for a while... However, since it's not a definitive solution, the practice becomes an addiction which has to be repeated more intensely and in less time intervails, because the organism starts adapting itself to current dosages.

It's like when taking a medicine (which can be also used as escapism mechanism). You usually start with a low dosage, but it has to be constantly raised along the years in order to keep the treatment efficient for the individual.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 14, 2024, 09:22:12 PM
Does gambling needs experience or anyone +18, even the inexperienced one can also play?
By being +18, it's implicit the individual has total conditions of discern the consequences of gambling for his life, as he is considered an independent adult who can take care of himself and answer for his own acts. However, that is just in theory, because for real we know that is not how things happen... There are many irresponsible adults around who display childish and unwise behaviors. As people say, age is just a number and shouldn't be considered as the sole factor when giving someone permission to do something. Psychological tests would be more efficient in such cases to conclude if someone is able to drive, drink, take responsabilities and gamble.

Another factor to take in consideration is the educational background. Someone uneducated won't measure potential consequences of gambling, because he doesn't understand mathematics and probabilities, despite being +18 years old. And that is where many casinos take advantage of the massive illiterate population who only understand the basics such as writting their own names, solving easy calculations, and performing repetitive mechanical tasks at the work, as they are more likely to spend money without critically thinking about the potential negative consequences of this decision.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why in some religion gambling is forbidden? on: February 14, 2024, 09:08:16 PM
Because that is how the scriptures were written or because that is how people interpret the scriptures' writtings. There are religions which strictly prohibit every kinds of practices related to alcohol and gambling, while there are others which simply preach against excesses and the love for mundane things, although they don't forbid alcohol's consumption and gambling practice, since it's done in a way to not overcome the importance and primary role God has in your life.

However, I keep in mind the scriptures have been translated from ancient languages to our modern ones along the centuries, what means some legit meanings could have been lost on the middle of the way, besides the fact scriptures have been written by humans' hands, which are in theory imperfect and flawed. Many teachings from holy scriptures make total sense if applied to our daily life, if you pay attention to the consequences our bad acts bring to us and the consequences of the good ones, although some of the writtings there don't make sense at all, at least not in the way theologians interpret them and try to impose them to society.
719  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If there was no government to govern us (humans) on: February 14, 2024, 08:48:49 PM
My interest is ... Could we (humans) had lived a peaceful soul here on earth without a governing body and no laws?
Have you ever done anything successfully in your life without following basic rules and guidelines? Personally, I never did, and I have never seen anyone doing. I believe human beings seek for self-realization, welfare, peace of mind and spirit, and these goals can't be achieved inside states of chaos, which is characterized by the absence of organization, which implies there aren't rules, although even the chaos is constantly treading a path towards something organized we call order, which is inevitably reached at some point.

One example are the revolutions aimed to destabilize current societies' models to introduce a new set of rules and laws. These revolutions are executed through chaos, absence of moral standards and rules, but their goals isn't to remain on this state of instability forever, rather their goal is to reach a new state of order, where a new model of society will be defined.

And even if you tried to impose a continuous state of chaos, an Anarchy, a major force would suppress your movement at some point by imposing a new order which would have to be followed by everyone, including you, otherwise punishments would be used against the rebels until all of them were disciplined or annihilated. Order is always achieved through force or through moral values, depending how civilized and evolved a society is.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do cryptocurrency increase the standard of living on: February 14, 2024, 08:36:28 PM
I would say cryptocurrencies can be an effective tool which allows you as a professional to have access to a wider jobs market which brings the whole world connected in a decentralized way. You can work from one corner of the world for an employer who is on the the another corner and still be paid in real time for your labor force without abusive fees and bureaucracy from regulators and governments who have influence over how centralized middlemen services such as Paypal work. Cryptocurrencies benefit both sides of a transaction (employer and employee) for a fair price.

Therefore, considering you have access to more jobs opportunities on the internet, while paying less taxes in the process of hiring or being hired, I consider crypto has potential to considerably raise someone's financial standards. However, cryptocurrencies solely are neutral tools, which don't have positive or negative impacts on your life automatically. It will always depend on how you are making use of them. You are the decisive factor for crypto to be a life changer, a life destroyer or no impact at all over your standard of living.
