701  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: March 06, 2023, 06:34:44 PM
Recently I have been trying to come up with ways of making some money on the side and thinking of giving trading a go.

I have zero experience and have just been looking on Coinbase at the best and worst performers of the day.

I am thinking of buying coins that are 15% or more down and then selling once they pump 10% and move onto the next one that is 15% down and then again sell at 10% profit and just keep repeating.

Anyone done something similar or will it just lead me to losing my money?
its not a bad technique I’m sure you won’t be the first to try it whether you succeed or fail you won’t be the first either so it worth the try if thats what your instincts tell you whatever the outcome it will be an experience you will learn from and if it doesn’t suit you you will have to try another pattern. Trading is not an easy task and you should be ready for the worse especially when it comes to trading altcoins because they are not as reliable as trading Bitcoin.
Strategy like that needs to be practiced from time to time. You are unsure that the market will increase back even the asset already falls for 15%, the chance that it will continue to fall is possible.

You need to have good a good research before taking that strategy, and like what you said, it's not the first
time that this kind of strategy is being used and if he succeeds or fails, it is not also the first time. There's always
the right way or much better to say fitted way to each trader, both new and old timer.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 06, 2023, 11:22:03 AM

Really an unfortunate thing happened not just for Magsayo but for the PH as well. The fight is not even close. The scores are really a gap in favor of Figueroa. Magsayo just tried to survive while he can until the final bell rang.

Brandon Figueroa deserves that win and congratulations to him.

With that loss, seems that Magsayo needs to start from scratch as not eligible for now to fight in a title match.

He missed his opportunities to be back into a title contender. After that lost to Figueroa, his ranking drops, though the chance to fight back and chase for the title is still possible for him.

Let see how things will proceed with his career now. It's Figueroa's term to chase for a title match against
Vargas. Nothing but to wait for another opportunity.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: reasons why someone wants to pay in tether and not bitcoin? on: March 06, 2023, 08:52:12 AM
Maybe they prefer to pay with Tether and keep the bitcoins for long term purposes. If they pay with bitcoins, they have to wait for the bitcoin price to rise before they can convert their bitcoins to stable coins and then send them to their bank account.

But when they pay with Tether, the amount they pay doesn't change and they can send it right away. They can use a cheaper network for the cost problem to solve that matter. Maybe the only reason is that the amount you sent has not changed.

The changes or the movement in price are affecting those who understand how crypto market works. They will choose to pay in Tether as there's no movement in terms of value, aside from fiat pairs, I guess.

But with Bitcoin, if you are unlucky and the timing is not right, you'll lose your opportunity to earn decently,
as the market movement is unpredictable with crypto/bitcoin, the value can pump up or dump down in any
moment of time.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 06, 2023, 08:47:49 AM
Finally, the curse of Westbrook has been broken, he finally won as a Los Angeles Clippers with a 135-129 win against the Memphis. But it as a tough win, they have to come back again from this game, they were outscore 51-30 in the 3rd quarter.

But it was the opposite in the 4th as they make a huge run, 26-2 to turn around the game on their favor to finally get the sigh of relieved of winning after the all star break.

PG and Kawhi combined for 76 points.

They needed that win to boost back their competitiveness. They already lose a lot after that trade. Hopefully, they will start to work on to whatever lapses that are still in their squad.

Start playing as one and take that full responsibility for the role that the team is needed from one another,
A good comeback, thinking that's another upset that will happen to them, but luckily, they manage to overtake
and win the last quarter to snatch this win.
705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: March 05, 2023, 06:25:07 PM
The cryptocurrency market is very hard to understand, you have to pick an accurate coin which has a better history and also a recorded success which is offers to the holders. If you have no expertise then focus on your experience then it will not matter that how much money you loss, always get experience from your defeat and minimum cost should be invested not large sum as you are newbies and you have almost no experience about it. Trading business is not easy and I think you have to spend certain months to understand about it because it cannot give you same results always as the alterations in price is the key feature of trading.

Yeah, even traders who had tons of experience like 2 years, 3 years, etc. not guarantee the success of their trading. Even a newbie can win a lot just from his/her luck, It's better to try a trading simulator or trading demo to know how much our knowledge about trading before we try the real one.
That's for sure, not even experienced traders won't experience loss, there's still chances that anticipation will not come into reality as fluctuation will ruin your position.

Better to keep pushing your way in learning the process and if you already getting more winning position than
losing one, the chance to progress is very high. More on self assessment and how will you reflect everything
with the way to execute your trades.
706  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: March 05, 2023, 10:42:55 AM
Well, I have to clarify that personally I have never had any loan or debt in my life so this thread has nothing to do with my experience but intends to find out how people in loan/debt deal with the problem. Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.

Taking a loan/debt make them addicted because they can't control their emotion to spend the money, many people take debt for buying something useless in their life although not everyone like that. I already see many people doing something like that borrowing from other channels, so it's better if we take a loan/debt we should know our capability to pay it back, and saving money is better rather than taking a loan.

Yup, such an attitude not to have a good control when spending money pushes people to take loans, and with such kind of overspending they will be forced to continue asking for more to the point that they are unable to pay for it.

If you don't have good limitations in how you will use those loan money, you'll see yourself to continue asking
for additional loans and it put you in a place where you will ask for more.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 05, 2023, 04:26:47 AM
Despite scoring 38 points, Davis was unable to carry his team to victory. The Lakers really need LeBron; although they have won some games without him, their playoff chances might be at risk without consistency. It was a home game, so they were supposed to win with their home advantage, but they lacked energy, the ball movement seemed lost, and they relied too much on their big man AD."
So that's an interesting factor...
In the victory against OKC, most of the Lakers players scored, and they won the match without LJ and AD.

I have no doubt that in the game against the Timberwolves, AD would be the team's reference player, and indeed he was, AD scored 38 points, KAT was not playing, but Gobert played, in my view, AD played extremely well against the Timberwolves and mainly against Gobert.

I believe what happened in this last Lakers game was that the other players didn't perform relevantly to help the team to beat the Timberwolves.

Let's see if in the next games the Lakers can reverse these losses they had!
Tomorrow he will play against GSW and during the week against the Grizzlies

Scorers like Dennis and Austin who mostly provide help if LeBron is not around did not show up their explosive games, AD can handle the interior and can make big shots but against 5 players who are distributing the ball,

It will be a tough job for AD. He needed role players who can help him both sides, playing defense and offense
while inside the court, they needed LeBron to push their chance to move forward to the next round.

708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 05, 2023, 04:17:13 AM
The Phoenix Suns are now officially a very scary team after the game against Chicago and they just boost their chances to win the Finals this year. Devin Booker seems like he's getting back to his old self with Durant on their team as he now have more spaces to make shots. Just like what I've said before, It is impossible to double team Durant, Booker, CP3, and Ayton all at the same play.
I may not be rooting for them to win the championship, but I cant deny the fact how strong this team is. Does Chris Paul finally get his first ring this year? Let's see about that lol.

It's probably the effect of getting Durant, Booker suddenly becomes a monster scorer, I mean that is what is to be expected of him and they almost got a trophy if not for Giannis and the Bucks.

But with the acquisition of Durant, they are now a real threat in the West. Perhaps the Nuggets and the Grizzlies will be their worst nightmare. But then again, if Durant keeps healthy all throughout, they are a very difficult to beat with him and the emergence of Booker. Plus they still good one of the best point guard in CP3 and man in the middle Ayton.

Booker now has a higher chance of scoring more because the defense will not be fully focused on him. Unlike before, where he would easily get doubled if he got hot, they cannot do that now because doubling Booker would leave Durant open, who is a high percentage shooter. It's always good to have two great shooters on a team, as it's hard to predict who will make a shot, especially if their chemistry is very effective.

Durant > Irving
Durant > Booker

Both superstar pairing worked.

Very deadly, and if Suns will maximize the use of KD the same way GSW did before, it would be a very different team in the west, with the way they've given KD space and with how KD creating that same space for Booker, It's really a tough job to stop them.

I like how CP3 playing the game is still one of the best PG. His vision makes a lot of different game play
a big difference to predict who's going to attack and make the basket.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 04, 2023, 03:54:50 PM

On the other side, Magsayo has been winning and fighting year to year. Absolutely no stopping him! Aside from his one recent loss, his track record is way better. Obviously he is going to win this fight with certainty.

He lost though so he is stop on his track, so both are coming from a lost, and so the winner will obviously bounce back with a big win here.

I would be happy if Magsayo wins this match. He is listed as the underdog, so for us bettors, this is a great opportunity to bet and make a decent return if Magsayo does indeed win. However, I would not say 'certainly' because Magsayo has not been that impressive in his previous fights, even in fights that he has won. Therefore, I want to see a major improvement, a matured Magsayo that knows how to time his opponent to win.

He needed that adjustment to impress more fans, especially in winning this fight. You are right for those who will back him up the odds is decent it's a matter of trust to the fighter you wanted to win.

Let see if how things will come out when these two fighters will start throwing their solid punches,
it's more on how you idolize and believe the fighter that you think will win.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: March 04, 2023, 06:32:48 AM
After reading yours and many others same wishes, I realized that maybe I have been discrediting the amount of wealth that could be generated by crypto. I always used crypto in a way that it would help me keep my purchasing power, maybe the dollar amount would go up, but what can buy one ice cream today, should grow to be dollar amount of one ice cream 20 years later as well, instead of losing its value to inflation.

Obviously that is not what people aim at, they want to make sure that they could make a profit even bigger and larger than that, and I am guessing that I have been asking far too little from my crypto future, maybe one day I will get hopeful about something like that too.

Many of us want to get rich with crypto, without actually doing anything in return. Buying and "hodling" crypto alone, won't make you a wealthy person overnight. It takes discipline and a little bit of patience to get the results you want in the long term. Instead of focusing on the price, why don't people use crypto as if it were cash? Crypto is all about digital payments, so the more people use it, the better.

We can't tell what will happen in the future due to the industry's unpredictable nature. But if history repeats itself, market prices should go all the way to the moon within the not-so-distant future. As long as you don't go crazy putting all of your life savings into crypto, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion Smiley

If you are lucky and your entry was on the right timing, I mean after doing your DYOR and manage to pick the price during the heavy downfall then hold and wait till the market bounce back.

Then we can say that opportunities to earned a huge amount of money will surely be possible, a matter
of how good you can project your estimated time frame and how good you are in managing risk with your investment.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 03, 2023, 02:45:31 PM
Yes, Inoue has been steam rolling everyone at 118 lbs, and since he has move up to super bantamweight, champion like Fulton is waiting for him. So give credit for Fulton here, he might be really confident and thinks that he need to beat Inoue, and gain the respect.

For Inoue's climbing up, yes, it might not be so difficult for him after all. And it just happen that he will go against one of the best champion in this division, nevertheless, he will be still be the favorite against the American.
Well, he did too great to be able to climb that ladder and be the favorite. I am just glad that Fulton didn't even flinch with the challenge, he may also like to see how far this guy could reach after dominating the lower weight class. Indeed, all credit to him. His camp could just ignore him and wait until he beat some guys in the higher ranks before taking them and yet they accepted it as soon as he came up.

That makes me worry about betting for Inoue here. Fulton's confidence is too high like he is damn sure he can win this match. We will see.

A fighter's heart as for my take in how Fulton accepts the challenge, though we know that Inoue can make an upset even he's a challenger here. His former division is not by far from this new one.

Maybe Fulton's confidence was high since he's the current champ and like what you said, he's not just a champ
doing nothing, but he climbs up because he showcases his skills and dominates all those past opponents.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 03, 2023, 02:26:11 PM
How about the Warriors as well switching gear in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Clippers 42-16 and then somewhat let go of the pedal but still a decent win in the 4th, 28-19. And so the Clippers is still win less when the acquire Westbrook.
That's twice now.
They did it too against the Portland Trail Blazers scoring 39 versus 17 in the 3rd quarter. The Warriors are feeling the chemistry once again and I love how Klay is trying to be more competitive too. I watched the whole game, I saw him everywhere, he does the points, rebounds, and making plays. That's the classic Klay Thompson that we once knew before he was injured and it's all coming back now.
Jordan Poole still has some polishing to do but he is doing well on the offensive end.
I didn't like how Coach Ty Lue already waved the white flag with 7 minutes remaining in the game but when I saw their schedule, I did understand. The Clippers have a game tomorrow GMT+8/later for ET versus the Sacramento Kings. They will need all their energy if they are aiming to snatch the win on the road.

Yes, and we really love to see the Warriors playing at their homecourt because it really bring the best out of them. And most of the time when you think that they are going to lose because their opponent has a huge lead on them, they have that confident to make a huge comeback in the 3rd quarter to turn the game around.

As for the Clippers, if Kawhi will take a sit against the Kings, then their chances are very slim to win that game in my opinion.

Warriors continue to impress their fans, they well secured the win after that 3rd quarter big comeback, not sure what happened with Clippers in the second half they allow that high scoring rally of Warriors.

They are now in top 5 after that  4 game winning streak, closer in securing the spot for the Playoff while
Steph still resting.

713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 02, 2023, 02:53:04 PM
For me, this fight is a disappointment as well and it has gotten worse after Spence wanted the fight in the higher division and the lame WBC allowed it. But I believe this fight is still big. Maybe a minimum of 400k PPV buys but I hope I am wrong and people should realize that this is a nonsense fight. But this is all about business.

A wise move though that if let's say Errol Spence Jr. loses this 154 lbs non-title fight, he can go back to 147, still as a champion. This might also be the reason to now considered facing Terence Crawford as moving up won't be an option now for Spence as he can't even handle the likes of Keith Thurman that isn't considered a big threat now. The fight against Thurman and Crawford can possibly be organized this year if the original plan will follow.

Unfortunately, what I did say is just valid if Keith Thurman will really beat Errol Spence Jr. as in every aspect, Spence beats Thurman. Even if I'm not backing Spence to win, it's clear to anyone that Thurman doesn't have the edge in beating Spence.

Upsets do happen though but not expecting that thing to happen in this match.

I like that idea of beating Spence, then proceed and chase for Crawford as the other champ is always willing to take the big challenge and prove that he deserves every belt that he got.

Let see if upset will take place and how the boxing community will push for Thurman vs Crawford instead of
waiting for a miracle for Spence to face Crawford. Another chapter only if upset will take place and Thurman
will be aggressive to push forward.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 02, 2023, 01:46:26 PM
[snip]
I think it will still be the style of Fulton vs the power of the Monster. Their skills sets might be equal at this stage. But the power will be at Inoue as we have seen that he has that knockout power. And for sure Fulton knows this one and going to try to avoid it as possible without getting hit.
That is an interesting matchup between Stephen Fulton and Naoya Inoue. As you mentioned, Fulton's style and Inoue's power will likely play a big role in the fight. While their skill sets may be relatively equal --but for me, Inoue's knockout power is certainly something to watch out for. I have this doubt and I don't think if you notice this too, Fulton will likely try to avoid getting hit by Inoue's power punches while using his own technical skills and footwork to try and outmaneuver him. It will be a test of Fulton's defensive abilities as well as his ability to counter Inoue's power with his own shots --it is worth noting that Fulton has shown his own punching power in his recent fights, so he should not be underestimated in this regard

Yeah, we will definitely be looking for Inoue's power in this division. Again, others might question if he still has it in at 122 lbs since he beat almost everyone at bantamweight with a KO. But since he steps up the plate, this will be his biggest test for far as he will be facing the champion at this weight class. But 4 lbs is not that any difference for boxers and for even average joe person. I mean we can increase our weight and remain the same or even in the case of Inoue he will have more power as there is no is issues as far as making the weight right now.

Not that far from his current division, but the fighters here, especially the current champ, are almost moving up like him, but Fulton decided to stay and face his challenge before doing the change.

We will see now if who between these two fighters/champions that will win and grab the belt,
The Monster or The current champ, still depends on how they will showcase their skills when
facing one another.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 02, 2023, 01:30:51 PM

I didn't think that the odds for a KO and decision for Magsayo are that high.

Both the KO and decision odds are high, which I like. I have to admit I'm a little biased here, but even though he is an underdog, this boxer has only lost once in his career. It's a redemption fight for him, so I expect him to be more aggressive and try to look for a KO. With that said, I'm taking Magsayo to win via KO/TKO.

With decent odd, taking Magsayo will be a good option in placing your bet here. Like what you mentioned, he will try to redeem himself after that defeat and lose his belt.

Same with you, I will also spare some of my money in betting with him to win, I'm expecting to see good adjustment
from him, especially with his stamina, hope his trainer finds some good system to increase his capability to take a long
fight,.

Quote
Taking a loan from a bank with low interest and then we buy a house with that money I think is much more effective. but on condition that we have calculated our financial ability to pay installments to the bank every month. but this step is indeed different from taking home installments (home loans). because the price of a house purchased in cash will be cheaper than buying a house on credit.

Low interest will help you to budget your finances, plus doing some side job to add up in your finances will also help you
to pay your loans. Thinking about long-term goal and planning ahead to make sure that you are capable of covering all your loans
and your daily needs are very important to assess before taking anything.

a careful planning is needed in this case before we make any decisions including planning for a better future such as having a dream home. or maybe we can start from a simple house that is cheaper.

and it is true that of course when we have an obligation to pay installments every month. it will be more effective if we have a side job to supplement our income and to save some money for reserve funds and emergency funds. which is prepared to pay installments when we are sick and unable to work.

It's the importance of extending your capabilities in finding side jobs to add to your finances. Planning to have your own job is not an easy as it is. You needed to work harder while paying your rents.

Everything is doable if you have a good goal and you are working double time to make sure that you will
be able to make things happen.

Great observation, Fulton's counter is very crucial here. We all know that Inoue's power punches can bring him down, but with good anticipations and with proper training to prepare against a monster will be noticed here.

Fulton's acceptance to defend his belt is something that fans will love from him, if he will beat Inoue here
respect and more recognitions will be rewarded to this champ.

If we are just doing it for fun then we will get out early but if we are seeking big profits then we will get engaged in some kind of aggressive betting that can make us addicted towards gambling which should be avoided at any cost.We all need profits in gambling but always in this hope can lead to worse scenarios.
A gambling addict at first also only plays or bets with the aim of having fun, but because they are so happy playing and being able to win a game they become more curious and keep playing until they really become a crazy gambling addict.
If you really don't want to become a gambling addict, then don't ever play gambling occasionally.
There are many ways to be able to get pleasure besides gambling.
If indeed the purpose of gambling is to be able to get profit and more money, then I justify it because even though they have reasons to just seek pleasure, all of that is only an excuse because ini reality they are indeed gambling to seek profit.
Ofcourse we can become addicted towards gambling if are too much engaged in it without even bothering about our budget limits so at the end we will have to face consequences for it.I think no matter what our motive is we should always keep in mind our budget so that we don't go above it anytime. This is what prevents us from becoming addicted.

Yeah right, limiting your budget is the safest way not to lose a lot while having your entertainment. Most of the time, losing your patience will bring you to a difficult situation when you want to recover your losses.

It's always a good practice to set your target budget and keep in mind that it's everything that you have
and nothing else should be added. If you win, then it's good to call for the day. If you lose, then move forward
without adding your deposit.

Maybe against a low team, this Lakers will have a good chance to take a win without the injured Lebron.

Maybe but let's see.

As per the latest news, Lebron will likely miss at least two weeks, and that's a lot of games for the Lakers to play.
https://www.nba.com/news/report-lebron-expected-to-miss-extended-period-with-foot-injury

I hope they will still win even without LeBron, but a team that loses its best player is not the same, just like the Warriors not having Curry.

With a healthy AD maybe or they might win games even without LeBron, we really don't know what might be the output from those incoming games that they'll be playing without their main alpha.

If they are pushing their chance to be in the next round, maybe they will find ways together to win
games and try to push closer either to a playoff spot or a chance for a play-in position.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 28, 2023, 06:09:57 AM
After the Fury - Tyson match this is another must-watch match for the boxing enthusiast, not a championship one but this one generates a lot of interest because both fighters are coming from loss, and they need to bounce back for their career and for the title, somebody's journey will end com March 4, it's great to watch non-title bouts for two fighters with good potential and they are both coming from loss because they will give everything they've got to get back in contention.
A consecutive loss is devastating for any boxer, especially for a young and former champion, so expect both fighters to fight intelligently and aggressively.

A non-title bout but this fight is a ticket for a title match, a mandatory fight against the current WBC Featherweight title Rey Vargas.

Actually, this fight is supposed to be almost a title fight as the winner of this might be possible to be elevated to WBC Featherweight champion if Vargas won against Foster several weeks as that win will expect him to move up weight and vacant his WBC Featherweight title.

But since Vargas loses, the winner between Figueroa and Magsayo will have to face him to fully elevate being an interim champion to a champion if successfully beat the reigning champion, Rey Vargas.

The reason why both Figueroa and Magsayo are eager to beat one another for that chance, we will see who among the two great fighters will win and will going to challenge the current champ.

If only Vargas wins that last fight, it's an automatic belt for whoever is the winner of this fight, but fate
decided for these two fighters to face Vargas for a title which is really favorable to them in terms of a
